coskuriToday 05:08 am JSTDid he say he was rich and they were just lying to get money?

He did. He gave good chances to win for defamation, to all these women. They are so many that they can do a class action against him.

Not only that, but he was seen smirking during his trial too. When the guilty verdict was read out, he became very disruptive and shouted, calling the prosecutor an 'A-hole'. This often happens at trials like this one. It's happened at a similar sex crime trial in my home city. However, the numbers added up. Those women didn't know each other so there could be no mass 'smear' campaign here. 62 different women who don't know each other just don't make up stories about something like this - it's no coincidence, it shows a pattern. Now he will pay.

Good riddance. This man deceived everyone and used his power to abuse others, and these women in some of the worst ways possible. Hope he doesn't age well in prison.

Bill Cosby, walking out of a courthouse in bracelets... If you had told someone in America in the 1980s that this would happen, they never would have believed you in a million years.

Everyone always has to pay the piper. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow... but eventually one is going to pay for their crimes.

From pudding pops to gen pop.

It is justice but only partial.

Those who hide under the guise of authority and respectability and use it to assault and molest innocents deserve a much harsher punishment.

Cosby got away with it too long and what has come to him is not enough.

Good, now why is that kingpin of this assault business Weinstein not serving back to back life sentences.

Did he say that they were all lying? Did he mention the fact they didn't speak up before? Did he say he was rich and they were just lying to get money?

That usually works.

It always works for Trump supporters when one of theirs is accused of sexual misconduct.

stormcrowToday 08:46 am JSTHey, hey, hey. Fat Albert & the Cosby Kids will never seem the same again.

I enjoyed that as a kid. When we had elementary school pictures the photographer would use that 'Fat Albert' shtick to get us to lighten up.

And I enjoyed the Cosby Show of 1984-1992 and I liked the one he starred in and directed a year or 2 after that one. I know he did do an 'For Adults Only' comedy tape in the late 60s (I heard it, vulgar language but nothing X-rated) but still his humor was 'mature' but clean. No boorish sex jokes.

I never imagined in my wildest dreams that this charming man who entertained us all, longer than my own life so far would turn to be such a horrible aggressive sick creepy deranged power-hungry disgusting predator monster!

"O'Neill also fined Cosby $25,000 and ordered him to pay the costs of the prosecution."

What about the costs of his imprisonment?

Justice ... at long last.

Congratulations to all of the women who came forward, but especially to Andrea Constand for her fortitude in pursuing this and being willing to deal with the publicity and besmirching of her reputation by Cosby and his lawyers.

Cosby was famous and wealthy. His sickness was such that, instead of "swinging" with consenting adults, which would have been nobody's business but his and his wife's, he drugged and sexually assaulted dozens of women.

This was never about sex, always about power.

When I think about the aspect of premeditation in all this, I find it incredibly sickening.

The prison time is warranted since he's serial offender who drugged his victims. Despicable. Sad that such things even happen.

Now his estate is open to civil cases for damages.Bankruptcy looks possible too....

His estate has always been open to civil actions. Now, Constand can use the criminal conviction as evidence in her civil trial. Given the evidentiary standard for a criminal conviction is beyond a reasonable doubt while in a civil trial it is a preponderance of the evidence, criminal convictions are power luck evidence in a civil trial.

it could be a death sentence for him, at his age that is.

I believe the term you're looking for is a "life sentence". Dying in jail is not the same thing as a state execution.

His Legal Team is now claiming "Racial Discrimination" in appeal attempt!

That is the job of lawyers. Lawyers representing a client does not mean they agree with the client or approve of the client's actions.

Nah. A lawyer's job is to defend their client. It's not to just make ridiculous accusations and hope something sticks. A good lawyer would have to know that this:

After the sentencing, Andrew Wyatt, Cosby's spokesman, read a lengthy statement in which he decried what he called "the most racist and sexist trial in the history of the United States."

...was a bad idea. Nobody is going to be swayed for it, and it just makes the Cosby team look like idiots. I mean Plessy v. Ferguson, anyone?

This is good news. Sexual predators must be shown that they cannot get away with it.

Be they rich politicians or rich entertainers.

People of both genders and all ages get raped and it takes guts and good moral strength to stand up against this crime of overpowerment and violence.

It does take guts to stand up to sexual predators, which is why 2/3 of sexual assaults in the US go unreported.

This is a victory for all survivors of sexual abuse and trauma - female AND male. People of both genders and all ages get raped and it takes guts and good moral strength to stand up against this crime of overpowerment and violence. And the way he acted in the courtroom when he got his guilty verdict only showed his guilt anyway. Many, if not most sex offenders get disruptive like that because they know their cover has been blown and they ain't getting away with the evil they've been doing. Rapists want their acts done with a blanket of silence because they want to impose fear. That's what it's all about. Rape is one of the worst things that happen to a woman - or a man.

I confess at first, when the first allegation came up I figured it was just someone wanting a smear campaign or her Famous 15. Then more came and no way they could be a coincidence because these women didn't know each other.

That scummy rat is now going to pay, even if it takes the rest of his life!

The fine is paltry considering what he is worth, but if he serves the full 10 years, it could be a death sentence for him, at his age that is.

House arrest because of age and fragility is asinine. That's allowing someone to get off lightly because they were lucky enough not to have been caught until they got old.

Put him in gen pop. He brought this on himself and deserves no special treatment simply because he became old before he was caught.

Bye, bye, sexual predator.
