It’s quite telling that Trumpophiles only defense is disparagement. They can never point to any actual evidence to refute anything, so they just disparage the proceedings or people conducting the proceedings.

9 ( +16 / -7 )

By the way, the IG report Trumpiphiles have been insisting will find wrongdoing by the FBI found irregularities, but nothing to support Donny’s conspiracy theory that Obama had Donny’s campaign spied upon. How do you plan to spin this?

"To impeach a president who 63 million people voted for over eight lines in a call transcript is baloney. Democrats seek to impeach president Trump ... because they disagree with his policies," Castor said.

Doesnt matter if they ALL voted for him, its what he did, and not his policies that are the issue!

Let's not forget either that the majority of American voters did NOT vote for Trump either!

The conspiracy theories that the president, GOP and WH have been pushing have all been debunked by all TV networks. Even FOX has debunked them.

1) The president has to call into a show called:

President Trump Calls In To "Conspiracy Today" With Bill Flatearth

https://www.haystack.tv/v/president-trump-calls-conspiracy-today-bill-flatearth

2) And Giuliani ( a person being indicted) is allow by the Justice department to leave the country to shoot a documentary with a conservative network.

Apparently, the gaslighting hasn't been working for the WH like last time.

If Trump, Mulvaney, Giuliani, Nunes, Pence, Barr, Et Al. are innocent, they can all testify under oath and turn over all requested documents without lengthy legal battles.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

In a letter to Collins, Nadler denied Republicans' request for eight witnesses to appear before the inquiry.

As this drags on, the Dems will continue to show how incompetent they are at mission un-accomplish. This is just what they are good at, nothing. As Trump said, they are a bunch of losers. Nobody is scared of MSM and CNN anymore. We all can see the whole thing for what it is. A cult of loons whos only mission in life is to get Trump. So far, due to poor planning, no evidence and gross incompetence, they have failed to make their case.

"The evidence shows that Donald J Trump, the president of the United States, has put himself before his country. He has violated his most basic responsibilities to the people. He has broken his oath,"

Well said. Someone has to stand up for the integrity of our country since the GOP saw fit to elect a documented scam artist.

By poor planing, you must mean the proceedings have that have been ongoing for the past few weeks.

By no evidence, you must mean the partial transcript of Donny’s call and the whistleblower complaint that was corroborated by how many of Donny’s own people?

As I said in my very first post above, you went in for disparagement instead of presenting actual evidence. That sand must be warm around your ears.

Chip Star:. By the way, the IG report Trumpiphiles have been insisting will find wrongdoing by the FBI found irregularities, but nothing to support Donny’s conspiracy theory that Obama had Donny’s campaign spied upon. How do you plan to spin this?

What they've always done is brush it aside and tell us about the next investigation that will really blow the kid off of everything. It's been going on since Benghazi.

Only Trumplings believe that! Respected legal experts think otherwise.

LOL! The DOJ report just came out and no scandal was found in the handling of the Mueller Report. Another conspiracy debunked!

'S--- just got real': DOJ watchdog uncovers pro-Trump text messages between FBI agents after 2016 election

https://www.yahoo.com/news/just-got-real-doj-watchdog-192711948.html

The report said:

The FBI had an "authorized purpose" to launch the Russia investigation.

> The bureau's use of confidential informants complied with the rules.

There is no "documentary or testimonial evidence that political bias or improper motivation influenced the decisions to open the four individual investigations" into the Trump campaign aides George Papadopoulos and Carter Page, the former national security adviser Michael Flynn, and the former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

> There were "significant inaccuracies and omissions" in applications for warrants to surveil Page, and FBI agents "failed to meet the basic obligation" to make sure the applications were "scrupulously accurate."

> "We do not speculate whether the correction of any particular misstatement or omission, or some combination thereof, would have resulted in a different outcome," the report said. "Nevertheless, the department's decision makers and the court should have been given complete and accurate information so that they could meaningfully evaluate probable cause before authorizing the surveillance of a US person associated with a presidential campaign."

> There is no "documentary or testimonial evidence that political bias or improper motivation influenced the FBI's decision to seek FISA authority on Carter Page."

The faithful are waiting to hear from their Lord and Savior, or Fox 'n' Friends.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

no evidence of political bias by the FBI in opening a probe into contacts between Trump's presidential campaign and Russia in 2016.

So it turns out Comey, Stzrok, et al. were not "rouge" cops after all.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

“Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz identified 17 serious omissions, inaccuracies and failures involving the FBI’s conduct in the Russia collusion investigation and its pursuit of a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant targeting the Trump campaign”

any of these 17 that are crimes have already been sent to Durham. Plus he can force testimony from Fusion GPS and others that the IG can’t.

So stay tuned. Almost no one is tuning in to the impeachment anymore.

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

The criminal part of the investigation isn’t done yet. Remember you guys and 2.5 years of Mueller. Gotta wait until it’s done.

arent you concerned about 17 critical omissions and inaccuracies? Comey sure isnt for some reason, he’s all good with “mistakes” being made. One man’s “mistake” is another man’s “crime”.

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

The House should give strong consideration to what John Dean and George Conway are recommending.

Draft the Articles of Impeachment and then move forward and impeach Trump, but then sit on it and don't forward it to the Senate for his trial, while continuing to collect additional evidence.

https://twitter.com/JohnWDean/status/1202306453513494528

That would deny Moscow Mitch the opportunity to whitewash the proceedings, and, at the same time, deny the criminal traitor the opportunity to claim "complete vindication" from the Senate.

And when the moron screams about the holdup in sending it to the Senate, tell him to produce all the subpoenaed documents and witnesses for review and deposition.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

What a farce.

Meanwhile, thanks to President Trump's policies 266,000 new jobs were added last month. That's food on the table, winter heating bills paid, education, medical care, Christmas presents and more for struggling families.

And the Democrats are doing their damdnest to derail such gains for the working class.

Further proof to the working class that the Democrats have completely lost thier way and don't care about them anymore.

Another massive collective middle finger from workers to Dems in 2020 is guaranteed.

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

nd when the moron screams about the holdup in sending it to the Senate, tell him

to tell his Comrade Mitch to stop blocking legislation, to let the Senate vote on issues that concern the general population. The Republican controlled Senate seems to think their main duties are to protect Trump from impeachment and allow Trump and the executive branch to have even more power, while also doing whatever they can to ensure their biggest sponsor's personal wealth is maintained. And also keep the Republican-started wars going to protect the profits of oil and defense corporations, i.e. the R's biggest sponsors.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

The House should give strong consideration to what John Dean and George Conway are recommending.

What?? Lol

Draft the Articles of Impeachment and then move forward and impeach Trump, but then sit on it and don't forward it to the Senate for his trial, while continuing to collect additional evidence.

That is the most unconstitutional sneakiest thing I ever heard, liberals really don’t care about the constitution, Thank God this is not a court of law otherwise these Democrats will get left out of the court room.

That would deny Moscow Mitch the opportunity to whitewash the proceedings, and, at the same time, deny the criminal traitor the opportunity to claim "complete vindication" from the Senate.

in other words, if you don’t have any facts just let’s make them up as you go along collect as much information you can pertinent or contrived and use whatever you can and do not tell the opposition or let them know what your game plan is

And when the moron screams about the holdup in sending it to the Senate, tell him to produce all the subpoenaed documents and witnesses for review and deposition.

Well, that won’t happen because the Democrats can’t waste any time because of this goes to trial the six democrat candidates have to participate in the trial and remember the Iowa caucus is coming soon.

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

"The evidence shows that Donald J Trump, the president of the United States, has put himself before his country. He has violated his most basic responsibilities to the people. He has broken his oath,"

Well said.

Yeah, if you're gullible.

The House should give strong consideration to what John Dean and George Conway are recommending.

John "The Screamer" Dean? You should listen to what George Conway's wife has to say -

Conway: Americans aren't buying impeachment this holiday season

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

Trump won't lose his job. This one is for the history books, and the GOP is going to be on the wrong side of history.

"If this isn't an impeachable offense, then what is?"

4 ( +7 / -3 )

to tell his Comrade Mitch to stop blocking legislation, to let the Senate vote on issues that concern the general population.

We asked the same thing from Harry Reid and the Democrats told the Republicans to shut up for 8 years. Over 320 legislations shoved in his drawer...

Deal with it. Democrats are the last people to scream about a process being unfair. Lol

The Republican controlled Senate seems to think their main duties are to protect Trump from impeachment and allow Trump and the executive branch to have even more power,

.....déjà vu

while also doing whatever they can to ensure their biggest sponsor's personal wealth is maintained.

that myth has been debunked so many times

And also keep the Republican-started wars going to protect the profits of oil and defense corporations, i.e. the R's biggest sponsors.

Oh, dear lord. Democrats hate oil, so they rather use Crisco to power the cars

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

Yeah saying it is so urgent to impeach Trump no time to wait! Gotta be done by Christmas!

Then don’t forward it to the Senate? will just prove the once and for all the false pretenses of the House impeachment urgency.

Dumbest idea I ever heard. That’s why Mr. Kellyanne Conway doesn’t have gainful employment of any significance

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

Nobody is scared of Fox and Breitbart anymore. We all can see the whole thing for what it is. A cult of loons who's only mission in life is to protect Trump and Russia. So far, due to poor deflections, weak process arguments and faux outrage, they have failed to make their case.

There, fixed it for you...

*Separately, the U.S. Justice Department's internal watchdog said on Monday it found numerous errors but no evidence of political bias by the FBI in opening a probe into contacts between Trump's presidential campaign and Russia in 2016.*

Read it and weep Trumpers - or should I say read it and apologize...

We've heard nothing but "wait for the report - it will convict Obama, Hillary, Nancy, Chuck, Bigfoot, etc"...

Wrong! "No evidence" - maybe you've heard that phrase before, as in there's no evidence that Hunter Biden did anything wrong...

All by Barr's hand-picked guy - Horowitz - who validated his findings with Durham before releasing which means Durham concluded the same thing...

Another Trump nut-job conspiracy theory debunked and shown for the lie that it is - by Trump's own team.

We'll be waiting for your mea cuplas - though I'm sure we'll be waiting a long time - like Manafort's prison sentence long...

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Blacklabel:. Gotta wait until it’s done.

See? Always waiting for the next one when the last one doesn't deliver as promised. They've been stringing you guys out for years with this crap

I predicted the IG report would give you 2 weeks of headlines and one talking point. I'd like to revise that to one week of headlines.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Wrong. Horowitz is an Obama appointee and Durham released a statement that he does not agree with all his findings. Try again.

All by Barr's hand-picked guy - Horowitz - who validated his findings with Durham before releasing which means Durham concluded the same thing...

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

At this point it’s clear that it’s not just Trump who is a danger to democracy. The Republicans who protect him are as well. From their faux pro-life policies, their disdain for sensible gun control, fake preening as loving, practicing Christians they have been hypocrites for decades and now it’s laid bare for the world to see that they will defend a traitorous, compulsive agitprop peddling, racist white nationalist, imbecile because they hate Democrats more than they love the country.

Many of the Dems do not inspire me personally, and I don’t agree with all their proposals out there, but to defend Trump anymore at this point you have to be seriously delusional, debased, or as someone stupidly said in the middle of an election campaign, no matter how correct she appears to have been, deplorable and I’ll add to that just plain awful American citizens.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

As this drags on, the Repubs will continue to show how spinelessness they are at standing up for democracy.

They are. That’s why they’re standing up to this farce.

This is just what they are good at, nothing.

The polls and independents say otherwise.

As everyone says, they are a bunch of losers. Nobody is scared of Fox and Breitbart anymore. We all can see the whole thing for what it is.

A joke.

A cult of loons who's only mission in life is to protect Trump and Russia. So far, due to poor deflections, weak process arguments and faux outrage, they have failed to make their case.

And still the Dems have nothing, the same old rehashed garbage and so to recap, the Dems don’t know what they want to impeach this President on:

“ I presume”

“ I believe”

“ I think”

“ I feel”

“ I assumed”

“ I thought “

Yeah, this is just all so politically damning. Lol

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

17 serious omissions, inaccuracies and failures. All 17 not in Trump or his team’s favor. Imagine that, every single “mistake” was against Trump. So bad that the whole FISA process now has to be reviewed.

Comey attacking Durham on TV right now. Scared. I’m fully satisfied with these results so far.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

They've been stringing you guys out for years with this crap

The Mueller investigation lasted almost three years. Dems have been strung out pretty long themselves. The difference now is that with Mueller’s partisan hack job out of the way the real investigation into why a politically motivated counter insurgency launched against an American presidential campaign by the opposition party can finally begin.

I'd like to revise that to one week of headlines.

To be surplanted by 11 months of headlines about how the Obama administration used the FBI in an attempt to take down the presidential campaign of the opposition party. The only question now is, who knew what and when in the Obama White House.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

impeachment is going so bad for Dems the media stopped doing presidential approval polls. Only 4 this whole month. 42, 46, 47 and 51 percent approval on RCP average.

impeachment is a dud in public opinion.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

Barr told Trump to dump Rudy Giuliani.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Wrong. Horowitz is an Obama appointee and Durham released a statement that he does not agree with all his findings.

Wrong.

Horowitz’s first presidential appointment came from Republican President George W. Bush, who tapped him in 2003 to serve a six-year term as a commissioner on the U.S. Sentencing Commission, which is responsible for crafting guidelines used to determine the length of prison terms.

Try again...

17 serious omissions, inaccuracies and failures. All 17 not in Trump or his team’s favor. Imagine that, every single “mistake” was against Trump. So bad that the whole FISA process now has to be reviewed.

Guess you missed the conclusion of "no evidence of political bias"....not surprising...

“ I presume”

“ I believe”

“ I think”

“ I feel”

“ I assumed”

“ I thought “

Trumper's trying to explain;

"I would like you to do us a favor though"

"Why isn't Trump releasing documents and allowing witnesses to testify of his innocence?"

"Was Trump directing Rudy in Ukraine or was Rudy freelancing?"

"Why did Trump tell O'Reilly that he wasn't directing Rudy but on the phone call summary says to Zelinsky "I will have Rudy call you"?

Add one more to the "I" list above - "I can't"....

2 ( +5 / -3 )

17 serious omissions, inaccuracies and failures.

In an investigation that you're telling us lasted 2.5 years? Probably involved what, a hundred people to interview? Thousands of decisions? And you found....17? Oh my.

I was promised Deep State. I was promised spying on Trump. I was promised a salacious dossier that started this whole investigation. I was promised a coup by the top echelon of the FBI to usurp a duly-elected President. I was promised information on an insurance policy. I was promised rogue agents going after Trump and throwing their careers in the toilet just because they didn't like him.

And instead we're talking about 17 inaccuracies so small they had zero impact on the investigation, as the IG clearly stated? Wow.

So that's two investigations by the IG, one into the Clinton email investigation and one into Mueller's investigation, both conclusions mentioning none of the nutty conspiracy theories you guys have been promoting for years. Comey and Strzok have now been cleared twice.

But nevermind that. There's this other investigation and when that comes out I'll be eating my words. Just wait for it...

4 ( +6 / -2 )

*Guess you missed the conclusion of "no evidence of political bias"....not surprising...*

Then you must have missed in that read below the dotted lines.

-John Durham

“I have the utmost respect for the mission of the Office of Inspector General and the comprehensive work that went into the report prepared by Mr. Horowitz and his staff. However, our investigation is not limited to developing information from within component parts of the Justice Department. Our investigation has included developing information from other persons and entities, both in the U.S. and outside of the U.S. Based on the evidence collected to date, and while our investigation is ongoing, last month we advised the Inspector General that we do not agree with some of the report’s conclusions as to predication and how the FBI case was opened.”

"I would like you to do us a favor though"

is this not the definition of “me”or personal request.

"Was Trump directing Rudy in Ukraine or was Rudy freelancing?"

this goes back to attorney-client privilege is, as soon as the Democrats want to step on the constitution again and underminded, good luck with that.

"Why did Trump tell O'Reilly that he wasn't directing Rudy but on the phone call summary says to Zelinsky "I will have Rudy call you"?

Why is it that the Democrats are not listening to Zelenskiy who has repeatedly said, there was no quid pro quo.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

lincolnman: Wrong

No you are wrong. Obama appointed Horowitz to his position. Past positions are a straw man argument.

Remember all those years the Dems propped up the dossier? Then when it came out that it was not verified, Dems denied it was used in the FISA. Well, Horowitz says that was a lie - it was as used. The IG found numerous abuses of the FISA process to take away a US citizens rights. Carter Paige was exonerated today of all of the FBI’s accusations against him. There are many powerful law enforcement people that need to be held accountable. Can the FBI be trusted? Right now the answer is no.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Actually let's see if we can piece this together.

The Benghazi investigations started in 2014. Lots of them. Stand down orders. Yadda yadda yadda. In the end the GOP themselves released a report clearing Clinton. The bombshells never arrived as promised.

But that investigation showed Clinton was using personal email. So they started an investigation into that. Issa said the FBI was ready to indict Clinton. Instead Comey said Clinton used bad judgement but there was nothing to prosecute. Oh, no! That triggered the IG investigation into the email investigation that was a result of the Benghazi investigation.

The IG cleared the FBI. Their actions were in no way motivated by personal feelings, and the actions they took were professionally appropriate and justified on their own merits. Strike one for the conspiracy theorists.

But don't worry. There was another investigation on the horizon. One that would blow the lid off of the real situation that had since eluded them with a billion hours of other investigations. Another IG was assigned, this time to conduct an investigation into the investigation of the FBI's actions on Trump.

Deep State. FISA documents. Spying on Trump. Coup. This investigation was going to change everything. Except that it didn't. Instead we have 17 serious mistakes.

So where are we now? Well all of the other investigations are gone and the only thing left is a second investigation into something that's already been investigated as a result of a previous investigation.

Does anyone else get the idea that the GOP just starts investigations to go fishing and then branch off into other investigations, all while the right-wing media present falsehoods about the situation, only to have the investigation turn up nothing which circles back to how deep Deep State really is?

6 ( +7 / -1 )

"I would like you to do us a favor though"

is this not the definition of “me”or personal request.

Duh, yea - Me as in I'm offering you a QPQ to do the investigation of the Bidens to help my 2020 campaign in exchange for military aid. I'm glad to see the light come on for you...

"Was Trump directing Rudy in Ukraine or was Rudy freelancing?"

this goes back to attorney-client privilege is, as soon as the Democrats want to step on the constitution again and underminded, good luck with that.

No it doesn't - Trump has already said he wasn't directing Rudy - do you believe him?

"Why did Trump tell O'Reilly that he wasn't directing Rudy but on the phone call summary says to Zelinsky "I will have Rudy call you"?

Why is it that the Democrats are not listening to Zelenskiy who has repeatedly said, there was no quid pro quo.

Why is it you always deflect answering the question? Why the discrepancy between what he told O'Reilly and what he said on the call?

No you are wrong. Obama appointed Horowitz to his position. Past positions are a straw man argument.

He was appointed to government by Bush - your team. And if they didn't want him, why didn't Sessions or Barr replace him over the past three years?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

bass: Why is it that the Democrats are not listening to Zelenskiy who has repeatedly said, there was no quid pro quo.

So when you said Trump acted improperly and used bad judgement, which parts are you talking about specifically? Because so far you've defended 100% of his actions. I'm curious as to where you think the actual bad parts came in.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Duh, yea - Me as in I'm offering you a QPQ

That would never hold up in a court of law and the Dems could nail the President on that because he never personalized the request. Even in law, the littlest words do matter.

No it doesn't - Trump has already said he wasn't directing Rudy - do you believe him?

Yes, it does, so once again, how are the Democrats going to get past attorney-client privilege?

Why is it you always deflect answering the question?

Right back at you?

He was appointed to government by Bush - your team. And if they didn't want him, why didn't Sessions or Barr replace him over the past three years?

Don’t worry Durham will dig deeper into it and then we’ll find out something that Horowitz couldn’t and doesn’t have the power to do.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

So when you said Trump acted improperly and used bad judgement, which parts are you talking about specifically? Because so far you've defended 100% of his actions. I'm curious as to where you think the actual bad parts came in.

Refer to my previous statements that I have already given an answer to

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

You found 10 possible obstructions. We found 17 actual serious omissions, failures and inaccuracies. Total lack of following any of the procedures of the FISA court process. Its not a "mistake" when you have a recording of someone not knowing they are being recorded and then forget to include all the times they deny wrongdoing.

Your 10- Total bombshells that you are still trying to add to impeachment even today.

17 we found, with Durham still to come- you claim its nothing.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

@bass4f: Why is it that the Democrats are not listening to Zelenskiy who has repeatedly said, there was no quid pro quo.

Zelensky's definitely in an unenviable rock-hard place. He knows in WW2 Ukraine was being brutalized while in between Stalin's USSR and Hitler's Germany. He knows that both sides slaughtered Ukrainians, especially Ukrainian Jews. He doesn't want that repeated. He knows today he's got Russia on one side trying to reclaim its former SSRs as it expands its Eurasian Economic Union (trying to finlandize Ukraine), and the Trump Syndicate on the other side tugging at him. He knows he has to maintain some balance between the two. To further complicate things, he must know the Trump Syndicate's for sale to the highest bidder, and that they're getting lots of money from oligarchs.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Obama appointee as Inspector General, and you know this.

No one cares who appointed him to his first job.

Horowitz’s first presidential appointment came from Republican President George W. Bush, who tapped him in 2003 to serve a six-year term as a commissioner on the U.S. Sentencing Commission, which is responsible for crafting guidelines used to determine the length of prison terms.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

That is nowhere even close to what the IG said. Durham will tell us how "small" these were and what "impact" they had. Horowitz just confirmed they happened.

And instead we're talking about 17 inaccuracies so small they had zero impact on the investigation, as the IG clearly stated? Wow.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Pushing for impeachment from Day 1 has been the true danger to democracy.

It sets a terrible precedent and threatens the entire experiment of self-governance. The Democrats have hit rock bottom, but the silver lining here is that impeachment is only helping Trump.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Normally, Horowitz report would contain any criminal referrals, as Barr would then need to assign a prosecutor to address those.

but as a prosecutor is already assigned, Horowitz just sends them over directly.

Specifically, Fusion GPS Glenn Simpson refused to be interviewed and Horowitz had no means to compel him. Also any ex employees could not be forced to comply. So Horowitz didnt say there was no bias, he just said he couldnt find it. (Hey Strzok are you biased? why yes I am, thanks for asking! doesnt work like that)

Durham does have the power to get the information that is needed and likely already has. Thus, his statement disagreeing with Horowitz.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Impeachment hearing was totally awesome. All Republican witnesses denied, Schiff wont show up, whistleblower isnt needed anymore, etc.

Even the Dem campaign contributor "witness" in the morning went and sat up on the dias with Nadler and became the official inquisitor in the afternoon. Now we know why Dems had 2 lawyers, needed 1 to question the other.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Zelensky's definitely in an unenviable rock-hard place. He knows in WW2 Ukraine was being brutalized while in between Stalin's USSR and Hitler's Germany. Ok, so what does that have anything to do with Zelenskiy saying he wasn’t pressured? His word means nothing?

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

I like what Jerry Nadler said about impeachment:

"There must never be a narrowly voted impeachment or an impeachment substantially supported by one of our major political parties and largely opposed by the other. Such an impeachment would lack legitimacy, would produce divisiveness and bitterness in our politics for years to come and will call into question the very legitimacy of our political institutions."

I agree completely. Oh wait, this was Jerry Nadler, 1998 Edition, during the CLINTON impeachment (another farce IMHO). Funny how he has changed his tune to fit the politics...

And the real funny thing about it is, Democrats seem to forget most people can look these things up on YouTube. Video is a helluva thing.....

Horowitz’s first presidential appointment came from Republican President George W. Bush, who tapped him in 2003 to serve a six-year term as a commissioner on the U.S. Sentencing Commission, which is responsible for crafting guidelines used to determine the length of prison terms.

Obama appointee as Inspector General, and you know this.

No one cares who appointed him to his first job.

What? Who is always talking about "our team" and "your team?" Well, he was picked by your team and your team had three years to replace him if they wanted to - and they didn't. Explain that...

Specifically, Fusion GPS Glenn Simpson refused to be interviewed and Horowitz had no means to compel him.

Guess you missed the report today that Steele and Ivanka were once an item...oh my...

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-russia-ivanka/former-british-spy-and-fbi-source-steele-was-friends-with-ivanka-trump-source-idUSKBN1YD2FY

That is nowhere even close to what the IG said. Durham will tell us how "small" these were and what "impact" they had. Horowitz just confirmed they happened.

And he already confirmed that there was no evidence of political bias...amazing the Trumpers keep ignoring that...

Refer to my previous statements that I have already given an answer to

Which don't exist...

Duh, yea - Me as in I'm offering you a QPQ

That would never hold up in a court of law and the Dems could nail the President on that because he never personalized the request. Even in law, the littlest words do matter.

Your words - I just repeated them. And 500 legal scholars disagree with you.

https://www.businessinsider.com/over-500-legal-scholars-trump-should-be-impeached-over-ukraine-2019-12

No it doesn't - Trump has already said he wasn't directing Rudy - do you believe him?

Yes, it does, so once again, how are the Democrats going to get past attorney-client privilege?

Trump has already told O'Reilly that he wasn't directing Rudy - he's already stated it so it isn't covered by any privilege - do you believe Trump?

Why is it you always deflect answering the question?

Right back at you?

I asked first - and you've avoided it for seven days now....just answer it..."Why did Trump tell O'Reilly that he wasn't directing Rudy but on the phone call summary says to Zelinsky "I will have Rudy call you"?

He was appointed to government by Bush - your team. And if they didn't want him, why didn't Sessions or Barr replace him over the past three years?

Don’t worry Durham will dig deeper into it and then we’ll find out something that Horowitz couldn’t and doesn’t have the power to do.

I'm not worried - your guy Horowitz, who you claimed was going to expose the witch hunt - just said there was no witch hunt...

Funny how he has changed his tune to fit the politics...

Different cases. Clinton wasn't accused of seeking personal help from foreign powers, along with a growing list of other issues.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Of course, he will not be convicted in the Senate, but the more worrisome thing for Trump will be the eventual release of his tax records.

The man lost more money than any other person in America, declared bankruptcy six times, pays no taxes and it will reveal what his son already admitted - Trump makes his money from Russia.

That will be his downfall.

things up on YouTube. Video is a helluva thing.....

Curious that what some call corporate media is being used to defend those who claim media's bad. I personally think youtube's wonderful. There are indeed a lot of good things to be found there. But with malicious deep fakes becoming so 'realistic', what's found on youtube has to be looked at critically. Just like everything found in all media. Especially with the global alt right using media to undermine democracies.

And the real funny thing about it is, Democrats seem to forget most people can look these things up on YouTube. Video is a helluva thing.....

It sure is...

"I not going to get into the head of Donald Trump because there's not a lot of space there.."

"I think he's a kook, I think he's crazy, I think he's unfit for office, and I'm a Republican and he's not"...

"Any person who says George Bush is responsible for 9/11 is not a Republican, they're an extremist, they're crazy"...

PT, the point stands. Impeachment in the Nadler World should not be partisan. He didn't qualify his statement with "except....". He was making the principled argument that impeachment should only be used in clear cases where the country was in danger. That is patently NOT the case now. Honestly, whether or not Trump applied a little pressure on Ukraine to investigate the 2016 election is so irrelevant and so under the standard that Nadler promoted it is laughable.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Impeachment in the Nadler World should not be partisan

Trying to get my head around what 'shouldn't be partisan' in a political system. Someone doesn't understand US politics, especially the even more highly partisan version of US politics Trump etal have created.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

That is patently NOT the case now. Honestly, whether or not Trump applied a little pressure on Ukraine to investigate the 2016 election is so irrelevant

And they start to crack - the mountain of evidence is overwhelming, isn't it? "So what if "he applied a little pressure".... The other Trumpers here agree with that - admitting that it was a QPQ?

and so under the standard that Nadler promoted it is laughable.

So Trumpers think a violation of a federal statue is laughable...well, that's consistent - just ask Manafort, Gates, Flynn, Papadapolous, Stone, etc.. You'll need a prison pass though...

52 U.S. Code 30121; Contributions and donations by foreign nationals, which prohibits "solicitation" a contribution or donation of money or other thing of value, or to make an express or implied promise to make a contribution or donation, in connection with a Federal, State, or local election.

There, fixed it for you...

You didnt fix anything, just white washed it to suite your narrative....lol No thanks, as I have posted before, Id rather think for myself. Try being original for once and thinking for yourself.

And the Steele dossier conspiracy theory debunked - add that one to your list of mea culpas also Trumpers...

Legal and unbiased origin of the probe: In no uncertain words, the inspector general says there was no political conspiracy to undermine Trump's 2016 campaign.

Conspiracy theories debunked: The report essentially rebuts more than two years of talking points by Trump and Republicans about a deep-state effort to derail his campaign. There were no FBI spies planted in Trump Tower, for instance. And the famed dossier by ex-British spy Christopher Steele was not the reason the investigation was launched, the IG report states. Inspector general Michael Horowitz specifically says that Peter Strzok, a former senior counterintelligence officer, and Lisa Page, a former FBI attorney, whom Trump has repeatedly vilified and mocked in crude ways, did not act out of bias or unduly influence the start of the investigation.

https://edition.cnn.com/politics/live-news/inspector-general-report-russia-investigation/index.html

And I wonder of Ivanka told Daddy about her boyfriend Chris Steele...oh my...

2 ( +3 / -1 )

What? Who is always talking about "our team" and "your team?"

Exactly! So basically, the Dems are in a political conundrum, just impeach the guy for whatever and let’s get this over with and in the meantime, Dems are seriously poised to lose the House, great move..

And he already confirmed that there was no evidence of political bias...amazing the Trumpers keep ignoring that...

And Durham said, he doesn’t believe most of it, well, Horowitz’s job is done and Durham will take over.

Which don't exist...

Because you don’t want to look through the archives, like most liberals. Hey, goes against our narrative.

Your words - I just repeated them. And 500 legal scholars disagree with you.

I’m sorry, we voted Clinton acolytes like Karlan? Yeah, she matters like all the other partisan Clinton liberal donors.

Trump has already told O'Reilly that he wasn't directing Rudy - he's already stated it so it isn't covered by any privilege - do you believe Trump?

I believe in attorney-client privilege, which the Dems are going to run up against the wall with.

I'm not worried

neither am I especially now that Barr and Durham called the report out for what it is. Can’t wait to see who Durham prosecutes....probably Schiff, no surprise there.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

bass4funk

Can you verify that? No,

Yes! I can.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Bass: Refer to my previous statements that I have already given an answer to

This is the part where you cast aside your own opinion and take that of Trump's. It's your moment of weakness where you submit.

Embrace it.

You didnt fix anything, just white washed it to suite your narrative....lol No thanks, as I have posted before, Id rather think for myself. Try being original for once and thinking for yourself.

When you "think for yourself" you conclude that Trump breaking US law and violating the constitution for his own personal benefit is actually cool and good. Your thinking, such as it is, is flawed.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Sad day for the Trumpers today - four nut-job conspiracy theories debunked by Trump's own IG...

No evidence of political bias by FBI or DOJ in investigation of Russian links to Trump...

No "spying" on his campaign...no wiretaps, no informants...

Page and Strzok had no influence on the investigation...

The Steele dossier was not used to request the FISA warrants - in fact, it was not yet given to the FBI when the warrants were requested...

Sorry Trumpers - those just went up in smoke...

Wonder if the Trumpers here will keep repeating them...

3 ( +4 / -1 )

No "Trumper" here- I wouldn't have voted for him in 2016. From a bit farther away than the fever swamp of Washington and the media circus, it all looks faintly ridiculous. The public's collective eyes are glazing over as more and more trivial details that have no meaning are trotted out as being "bombshells" and "devastating". Too much hyperbole on both sides, eagerly regurgitated by a breathless media.

Howabout focus a bit on actual important issues- the economy, Chinese imperialism, etc?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Attorney General Barr:

The Inspector General’s report now makes clear that the FBI launched an intrusive investigation of a U.S. presidential campaign on the thinnest of suspicions that, in my view, were insufficient to justify the steps taken. It is also clear that, from its inception, the evidence produced by the investigation was consistently exculpatory. Nevertheless, the investigation and surveillance was pushed forward for the duration of the campaign and deep into President Trump’s administration. In the rush to obtain and maintain FISA surveillance of Trump campaign associates, FBI officials misled the FISA court, omitted critical exculpatory facts from their filings, and suppressed or ignored information negating the reliability of their principal source. The Inspector General found the explanations given for these actions unsatisfactory. While most of the misconduct identified by the Inspector General was committed in 2016 and 2017 by a small group of now-former FBI officials, the malfeasance and misfeasance detailed in the Inspector General’s report reflects a clear abuse of the FISA process.

Oh my. And the forthcoming Durham report is far more comprehensive in scope. We're going to learn a lot more in the coming months.

ChipStar. I actually agree with you. It IS funny. As funny as it was waiting for the Mueller Report, which was going to blow Trump out of the water, or the Stormy Daniels scandal, or..... see what I mean? More than enough partisan blindness to go around.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

ChipStar

It’s two words: Chip Star

More than enough partisan blindness to go around.

Agreed. Unfortunately, partisan blindness and outrage garner ratings and clicks. I don’t see it going away any time soon.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Chip Star; apologies on the name oops. The funny thing is that the networks all are finding that their ratings are going DOWN since they started nonstop Impeachment TV. Hopefully this will backfire on them and force them to go back to actual journalism. And force the politicians to stop stampeding towards the cameras to get their face time in, and get them back to doing the business of the country.

Hopefully this will backfire on them and force them to go back to actual journalism. And force the politicians to stop stampeding towards the cameras to get their face time in, and get them back to doing the business of the country.

I don’t suggest holding your breath on either of these points.

Attorney General Barr:

Another person who has had his otherwise good reputation tossed into the gutter by aligning with Donnie The Dirtbag - Barr is now nothing more than an obese Rudy...

This is interesting -

IG report released; Steele dossier was used to spy on Trump campaign

It's not interesting, it's a lie - you see it all over far-right sites today - flat out lies and distortion of the Horowitz conclusions.

*But Horowitz found that the Crossfire Hurricane team — the code name agents gave to the Russia inquiry — did not receive Steele’s election reporting materials until after the investigation had already been opened using information about Papadopoulos the team received from an allied nation.*

Typical - when they don't get the conclusions they want, they ignore reality and just spout lies as if their conclusions were affirmed - its delusion and fantasy...

The Horowitz report put a knife in the whole witch hunt fairy tale...but Donnie will keep repeating the lie - and his supporters will keep believing it - just like Goebbels said...
