Trump is clearly unraveling as Mueller closes in and the Dems prepare to take control of the House. We have our first indications that Trump does have a measurable intellectual capacity given a true idiot, which Trump constantly acts like, wouldn't be feeling the pressure that is clearly pushing Trump over the edge.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

Pence's "elf on a shelf" posture is priceless. I agree none with his antedellivian policies, but I don't regard his intelligence as dismal as Trump's. He's observing Trump getting played and trying to blend in with the tapestry.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

I loved it! Now that’s how you do it! Good on the President for allowing in the cameras and taking these two loose canons on.

My favorite part..

SCHUMER: “Elections have consequences, Mr. President.”

TRUMP: “That’s right — and that’s why the country is doing so well.”

ROFL!

-13 ( +9 / -22 )

I loved it! Now that’s how you do it! Good on the President for allowing in the cameras and taking these two loose canons on.

Yes, you do love it because you are Kay with seeing the WH turned into a chaotic playground. Smh.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

Trump said in effect, go ahead, don't fund a 3,000 mile concrete barrier and I'll just have the military do it.

He clearly doesn't understand how the budget works.

Congress does not simply toss $750 billion at the Pentagon and say, "Here! Have fun!" The spending is tied to specific purposes which Congress approves or rejects. And Trump instructing the military to build a concrete barrier on the southern border will be rejected.

Kinda ironic how he thought he had a trump card there. No wonder Pence spent the entire meeting with his eyes shut tight.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

I do believe that Cadet Bonespurs got, in a certain parlayance, schlonged by Pelosi and Schumer.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

I am proud to shut down the government for border security, Chuck, because the people of this country don’t want criminals and people that have lots of problems and drugs pouring into our country," he said before reporters left their ringside seats.

Yeah, right, there are plenty of criminals and people with lots of problems who are already here! Take a look in the mirror Mr President!

I would love to find a way to shut him down, for the sake of the country and my ears!

12 ( +13 / -1 )

Why not have the whole conversation public? Aren’t the Dems the ones claiming transparency in all things? Neither Chuck or Nancy would just admit they don’t want border security, gotta play these TV games.

-10 ( +5 / -15 )

Yes, you do love it because you are Kay with seeing the WH turned into a chaotic playground.

No, I’m just happy that ? Trump finally gave the smack down those two bobble heads deserved.

Pence was like...”muh man! You got dis!” Lol

-16 ( +5 / -21 )

blacklab Neither Chuck or Nancy would just admit they don’t want border security

When veracity challenged (consistently) Trump supporters can only distort truth to defend their idol the reality TV star, then they too have come to accept this latest attempt by Trump to do a Jerry Springer goes to DC was a flop.

Doubtful the US will ever be able to recover from the thug-in-chief's ongoing destruction of the remaining bits of US democracy.

His family got richer while he was in the WH, but the public will get negative in return because they'll find ways, just like daddy T, to not pay taxes.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

If they are for border security then prove it with their vote.

-8 ( +6 / -14 )

If I am Trump I donate the huge legal fees he got from Stormy and Avenatti defaming him. Donate that money to the wall building fund.

-13 ( +3 / -16 )

President Trump really took those two by surprise by making them state their positions on camera. They were obviously defensive and uncomfortable. President Trump is the man.

-8 ( +4 / -12 )

Pelosi, who told reporters she thought the Democrats had left things "in a pretty good place," said she had prayed with Trump during the private portion of the meeting, recounting the biblical story of King Solomon asking God for wisdom.

This nearly made me vomit up my eggs.

I'm happy he's willing to take ownership of the shutdown. That should go over really well with Americans, especially when it's so clear who is to blame for closed offices and National Parks. Egoists are never able to grasp it when people tire of them. Nor can they see the looming fall.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

"If we don’t get what we want . . . I will shut down the government,"

Is this person an adult?

5 ( +8 / -3 )

My favorite part..

SCHUMER: “Elections have consequences, Mr. President.”

TRUMP: “That’s right — and that’s why the country is doing so well.”

ROFL!

Changing the topic is so hilarious. What a smackdown! Trump is a genius!

7 ( +8 / -1 )

So Nancy wants to hide behind the Bible? She might want to actually open it and read it. From the Bible:

When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God.

-10 ( +3 / -13 )

The “this” referenced is when their wall was completely built. God helped them. So now it’s Nancy’s turn to help build a wall.

-10 ( +3 / -13 )

Neither Chuck or Nancy would just admit they don’t want border security

Yeah, and Trump wouldn't just admit he wants single-payer health care. So it's his fault.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

If they are for border security then prove it with their vote.

Ridiculous logic. Not supporting Trump's silly wall idea does not equate to not supporting border security.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

President Trump really took those two by surprise by making them state their positions on camera. They were obviously defensive and uncomfortable.

It looked more to me like they were thinking 'give a man enough rope...'

You could see them rolling their eyes at his stupidity.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

The “this” referenced is when their wall was completely built. God helped them.

I guess you gave up on the Mexican's building the wall, determining it will be easier to get God to build it instead.

Seems legit...

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Yet it does. Because the man in charge said that is what border security means to him. You don’t get to decide that your boss really means something else.

Ridiculous logic. Not supporting Trump's silly wall idea does not equate to not supporting border security.

-11 ( +3 / -14 )

The Democrats need to get rid of their elderly leadership. Nancy can't keep up with the conversation. Nancy and Chuck were part of the team that stole the election from Bernie. They need to go !!

Pence wasn't even there it was Chuck and Nancy against Trump and they couldn't handle it.

-11 ( +4 / -15 )

If I am Trump I donate the huge legal fees he got from Stormy and Avenatti defaming him.

Um, if you are trump, you take donations to buy paintings of yourself for your golf course. You most definitely do NOT donate any money.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

I will shut down the government

Awesome to get that on record.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

The Democrats need to get rid of their elderly leadership. Nancy can't keep up with the conversation. Nancy and Chuck were part of the team that stole the election from Bernie. They need to go !!

Nah, they're cool. The right already hates them, so let them take the heat.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Well ok see what happens next.

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

After the meeting, the Democratic House fundraising arm immediately sent out an email asking supporters for money.

LOL

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

I'm happy he's willing to take ownership of the shutdown. That should go over really well with Americans,

With SOME Americans, a lot of Americans want that wall and an increase to border security as well as ending chain migration and ending the visa lottery program and catch and release on the flip side Trump gladly give the Democrats DACA. Now we all know illegal immigration is the bread and butter of the Democrat voter base, but they enjoyed that ride long enough, it’s time to seal the border. Schumer was saying the experts say you don’t need a wall, but with all due respect to Schumer, I don’t care what other political think tanks say, I prefer to listen to the border patrol and the military as well as the engineers for their opinions.

especially when it's so clear who is to blame for closed offices and National Parks. Egoists are never able to grasp it when people tire of them. Nor can they see the looming fall.

The VA will still be able to function and provide care for the patients that won’t stop. As for the parks, you need to be patient.

-14 ( +2 / -16 )

So Nancy wants to hide behind the Bible? She might want to actually open it and read it. From the Bible:

When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God.

I don't think Pelosi was "hiding behind the Bible". She was praying for wisdom, as King Solomon did.

There are many ways to use scripture to justify one's political beliefs. How about this one?

*“At that time I will put you on trial. I am eager to witness against all sorcerers and adulterers and liars. I will speak against those who cheat employees of their wages, who oppress widows and orphans, or who deprive the foreigners living among you of justice, for these people do not fear me,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies."*

So he doesn’t donate his entire presidential salary every quarter?? Let’s at least “try” to be impartial.

Um, if you are trump, you take donations to buy paintings of yourself for your golf course. You most definitely do NOT donate any money.

-12 ( +3 / -15 )

The Democrats need to get rid of their elderly leadership. Nancy can't keep up with the conversation. Nancy and Chuck were part of the team that stole the election from Bernie. They need to go !!

You sound just like Dango Bong, suspiciously absent from these here threads of late. Same lame trollery. He too was a Trump fanboy who liked to pretend he was sympathetic to Bernie.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Yet it does. Because the man in charge said that is what border security means to him. You don’t get to decide that your boss really means something else.

Silly rabbit, logic is for adults!

The idea that the only way one can be for border security is to support a boondoggle of a wall that the people don't want, that was never supposed to be paid for by said people is as silly an idea as the right has ever had. Back in the real world, the non deep-state right-wing fake-news MSM bubble, people - get this - actually hold nuanced opinions, where they can look at an issue in a non-hyper partisan manner, and can look at how to effectively deal with a problem.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

With SOME Americans, a lot of Americans want that wall and an increase to border security as well as ending chain migration and ending the visa lottery program

And a lot of Americans want single-payer health care. Sounds like a good trade. Trump puts in single-payer, and the savings are used to build the wall.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

@blacklab So he doesn’t donate his entire presidential salary every quarter?? Let’s at least “try” to be impartial.

Who knows - he hasn't released his latest tax info. And his admin controls the IRS.

Maybe Trump's friends in Saudi Arabia (and the UAE, Russia, etc.) are helping him pick up spending money on the side. I wonder who else.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

With SOME Americans, a lot of Americans want that wall

Some, a lot, it all sounds so scientific. According to a NPR/Marist poll:

By a 21-point margin — 57 percent to 36 percent — Americans think the president should compromise on the wall to avoid a government shutdown, rather than stand firm. About two-thirds of Republicans say the opposite, and the president has been focused on maintaining his base.

> But not only do most Americans oppose risking a government shutdown over a wall, but more than two-thirds (69 percent) do not believe building a wall should even be an immediate priority for Congress. That includes half who do not believe it should be a priority at all.

I know, like Wikipedia, NPR is probably socialist in your eyes.

https://www.npr.org/2018/12/11/675334306/poll-americans-want-trump-to-compromise-on-border-wall-amid-possible-shutdown

6 ( +7 / -1 )

brawled?

Hardly. They all had their shoes afterwards.

I want the border secured and don't really care how. Wall, more electronic sensors, more CBP agents - doesn't matter. People should only be crossing the border, any border, through approved control points.

But the Democrats won't support this because they don't care about border security. That is clear.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Trump should read his ghost written "The Art of the Deal".

5 ( +6 / -1 )

And a lot of Americans want single-payer health care. Sounds like a good trade.

What? Well, that won’t happen, so we don’t need to jokingly entertain that, now putting in DACA now that’s a bargaining chip worth exploring.

-11 ( +1 / -12 )

I am so proud of Rep. Pelosi and Sen Schumer for standing up to the bully boy. Do it more. Do it for us!

No one penny for Individual One's stupid wall. :)

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Funny how these two so called Dem “leaders” lost a direct confrontation then run to their mommy, the cameras and their followers, to whine and lie.

"I don't think we should have a debate in front of the press on this," Pelosi said.

Priceless.

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

So he doesn’t donate his entire presidential salary every quarter??

I seriously doubt it.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Love how Nancy wanted to get the cameras out so they could talk, Trump was like, this is called transparency. Way to go Mr. President.

-10 ( +3 / -13 )

Proud to close VA Hospitals, proud to close national parks, proud to tell thousands of federal workers you won't get a paycheck over the holidays....

65% of Republicans want the President to dig in including a lot of Republicans in Congress. 71% of Democrats think the President should give in.

That's 35% of Republicans who don't support it - what a failure.   And ask Newt how that shutdown thing worked for him...

What a joke.

Nothing about closing the government is a joke - that's the mistake the Republicans made all the previous  times...and no doubt will make again....

Thinking "Rex was right, what a fuc&^% moron - at least I'll be in that chair in a few months once he's impeached...."*

And then after his impeachment, watch the Democrats face as the Senate decides not to hold hearings or refuse to remove him from office. Oh, the anger that will arise. Too bad.

More two dimensional thinking - of course all Republicans are automons and will vote to support Trump...did  you see how Kavanaugh voted yesterday?

https://www.wnd.com/2018/12/kavanaugh-sides-with-liberals-in-planned-parenthood-case/

So Nancy wants to hide behind the Bible? She might want to actually open it and read it. From the Bible:

When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God.

A Trump supporter quoting the bible - a serial adulterer and liar - you really can't make this stuff up...

4 ( +5 / -1 )

That's 35% of Republicans who don't support it - what a failure.

You don’t know if they were polled or not

And ask Newt how that shutdown thing worked for him...

Ask Schumer how the last one worked out for them, not so well. Funny how the Dems wanted to talk about this in private, but the President said, why? Be transparent.

Nothing about closing the government is a joke - that's the mistake the Republicans made all the previous times...and no doubt will make again....

Yes, but this time is very different, more people and even Republicans have seen the chaos along the border and do feel a wall is necessary, that’s why Trump feels more confident than ever and rightfully so.

More two dimensional thinking - of course all Republicans are automons and will vote to support Trump...did you see how Kavanaugh voted yesterday?

Yes and that’s not a big case he needs to worry about, he’s got more important cases to worry about and decided to let the lower court ruling stand as it is for now. You always pick and choose your battles and this is not an important issue for him now. so now big deal.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

Way to go Mr. President.

Way to go ladders. (to go over the wall). And don'e forget drug drones and shovels. 2,000 miles is a long distance.

a lot of Americans want that wall

Who is going to pay that 100B for that? Also, what about the ladders and shovels? Also, the drug drones that will fly over?

just admit they don’t want border security

What's the point of a wall when you can use a ladder?

I want the border secured and don't really care how. Wall, more electronic sensors, more CBP agents - doesn't matter.

Who is going to pay for all this? A 2,000 mile x 50 foot wall? With sensors that you see on Jurassic Park. Wall only will be 100B. Then all the toys with it will be a quarter of a trillion dollars.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Love how Nancy wanted to get the cameras out so they could talk, Trump was like, this is called transparency.

Been waiting for three years for the tax returns Mr "transparent" President..

And clue us all in on how that payoff to Stormy and McDougal went - you know, the one where you're listed as an in-indicted co-conspirator on two felonies...

Way to go Mr. President.

I believe his correct title from the Justice Dept is "Individual #1"....

5 ( +6 / -1 )

"I don't think we should have a debate in front of the press on this," Pelosi said.

Priceless.

Um, she's right. It's impossible to have a proper and frank negotiation on something that is hyperpartisan, in front of the cameras and the people. You would have to be a total moron to think this is a good idea. Only someone entirely unsuited to running a country would think that doing it in the public eye is a good idea. The very idea that it would be a good idea is proof in and of itself that the person is unqualified. Particularly if they lack the intelligence to even be clear on why it's not a good idea.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

In the end, both sides got what they wanted.

The Democrats not only got Trump to go on record taking responsibility for the shutdown, something that seriously hurt the GOP the last time, but Trump practically bragged at the thought of putting people out of work. Based on Trump's initial comments it was obvious that he had been coached into blaming Schumer for the possible shutdown, then he does a literal 180 and puts it all on himself. Amazing. There's a reason why your people wanted to you blame the Democrats, Donald. Thanks for ignoring them.

In return Trump got to use some WWF-type comments, jumping from the top rope, so to speak, something that will play extremely well with the uneducated, angry male portion of his base. Despite Trump handing away his position, they will see the meeting as a smashing success for the brief, fleeting feeling of self-confidence that Trump gave them.

Sounds like a fair trade to me.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Yes, but this time is very different, more people and even Republicans have seen the chaos along the border and do feel a wall is necessary

No they don't.

And you still haven't explained why the people should pay for it when it was promised that Mexico would pay for it.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Blacklabel: So he doesn’t donate his entire presidential salary every quarter??

Yeah, and he got to keep so much cash from defrauding regular folks with his fake university that it will more than cover the cost of that.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

You don’t know if they were polled or not

Come on Bass - you cited a poll then claim it's invalid?  Why do you even post if you're going to invalidate what you say?

And ask Newt how that shutdown thing worked for him...

Ask Schumer how the last one worked out for them, not so well. Funny how the Dems wanted to talk about this in private, but the President said, why? Be transparent.

Dodge - But What About - once more, ask Newt how that worked out for him....

This is called "denial" - "its different this time"....sure it is.....

More denial - they claimed Kavanugh would vote straight down the conservative line and on his first case he sides with the progressives...LOL!   Their two dimensional world is crashing down on them.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

So he doesn’t donate his entire presidential salary every quarter?? Let’s at least “try” to be impartial.

You've got no idea what you are talking about. OP was describing how individual one used his "charity" to buy paintings of himself for his office. Is that what charity is about?

As for the bible: What does the bible say about helping the poor?

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Because the man in charge said that is what border security means to him. You don’t get to decide that your boss really means something else.

Apparently you think the US is a monarchy and Trump is supreme ruler.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

used his "charity" to buy paintings of himself for his office. Is that what charity is about?

The local prosecutors are on this case. It's a like a slow but deadly monster that strikes with precision. The Trump Jrs better watch out. Also, these offenses cannot be pardoned on the local and state levels.

Blacklabel: So he doesn’t donate his entire presidential salary every quarter??

Bill Gates is donating billions. Trump's donations are a joke.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Trump's ego has been bruised so badly recently, he needs to think he's still in control.

Also, with the stock market struggling, job creation slowing down, China not backing down in the trade war, he needs another fight to divert attention on all his failures, before he loses control of the House.

Then, he will be back doing rallies where he can just say he did his best to get the wall, but you know, we just had control of everything, which wasn't enough.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

$5billion for a fence, $5 for a ladder. Or $3.50 for a spade from Walmart, if Mexico has them.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Pelosi, who told reporters she thought the Democrats had left things "in a pretty good place," said she had prayed with Trump during the private portion of the meeting, recounting the biblical story of King Solomon asking God for wisdom.

What a weird thing to say (or do if you ask me) at a presser.

Openly seeking God's guidance when you run a nation is a sign of weakness/incompetence/desperation imo.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Hardly an argument!

Much ado about nothing....

1 ( +1 / -0 )

The Democrats not only got Trump to go on record taking responsibility for the shutdown, something that seriously hurt the GOP the last time,

And the Democrats the last time after that. Keep it real now.

but Trump practically bragged at the thought of putting people out of work. Based on Trump's initial comments it was obvious that he had been coached into blaming Schumer for the possible shutdown,

He didn’t have to, every poll showed that the Dems lost the last shutdown.

then he does a literal 180 and puts it all on himself. Amazing. There's a reason why your people wanted to you blame the Democrats, Donald. Thanks for ignoring them.

It’s ok, if the Dems want to play hardball, this time around more and more people agree with the President on immigration and this is too much and they will call her bluff. So he will lay it out, the Democrats showed their hand that they don’t care about border security, they know why and their pathetic little feeble attempt to withhold funding might backfire this time on them.

In return Trump got to use some WWF-type comments, jumping from the top rope, so to speak, something that will play extremely well with the uneducated, angry male portion of his base.

Funny, for all the education the left claim to have (lol) they’re not smart at all when it comes to reading people on this issue and they hit the land mines every single time.

Despite Trump handing away his position, they will see the meeting as a smashing success for the brief, fleeting feeling of self-confidence that Trump gave them.

What? ROFL

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

bass4funk: "No, I’m just happy that ? Trump finally gave the smack down those two bobble heads deserved"

Well, it's a known fact that the majority of Trump supporters are uneducated white people, so it's not really a surprise you like Jerry Springer-like content. But answer us this: Trump swore Mexico would pay every penny of the wall. Why haven't they? Why is Trump now demanding the US taxpayer pay for it? Since they haven't spent more than 6% of the $1B + for border defense last year, why do they need $5B more for Something Trump CLEARLY said -- PROMISED -- Mexico would pay 100% for?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Well, it's a known fact that the majority of Trump supporters are uneducated white people,

Who says it’s a fact? Mother Jones? NYT? There are a lot of Latinos and Blacks that like this President, but for some reason the msm doesn’t want to cover any minority, so these people liking Trump are also uneducated? Why is that so many educated people can’t find jobs. Why is it that many educated people have book skills, but other than that, that’s it, why?

But answer us this: Trump swore Mexico would pay every penny of the wall. Why haven't they?

Personally, I never cared for whatever reason, if Mexico paid for the wall or not, that was never the issue for me or most voters, it was build the wall, that’s the only thing that has ever been important.

Why is Trump now demanding the US taxpayer pay for it?

I think now, more and more people don’t mind, but one thing we can do is repatriate some of that money that many Mexicans that have working visas and that can travel between the US and Mexico piece of that money back that is one way we can get the money back for the wall.

That's about a dozen LOLs and ROFls in just two days -- you're panicking, friend, and for good Reason

Liberals NEVER make me panic. They make me laugh myself silly, but panicking? Sorry, I’m not that kind of person and no reason to be.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Trump putting on a show for his intellectually deficient , gullible base and they lap it up!

The he goes on twitter with falsehoods about 'the wall' that he is supposed to have already built and they still lap it up.

I found the look on Pence's face hilarious , it was like 'I didn't sign up to be on The Apprentice-Oval Office!!'

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Pence wasn't even there it was Chuck and Nancy against Trump and they couldn't handle it.

So who was the Pence lookalike, then? You know, the guy in the photo at the top of this article...

6 ( +7 / -1 )

it looks like the fun is just starting. Schumer slouching in the chair (which is never a good look) looked and sounded like he was having a panic attack. Lol

Lol, indeed. These are the end days for Trump, which is great news for actual humans everywhere. The bad news is that Pence is next in line, so the Democrats best start upping their game, sharpish. The real enemy has not yet revealed itself.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

"When the president brags that he won North Dakota and Indiana, he's in real trouble," Schumer said to the astonished press capturing the back-and-forth.

Priceless , Donnie turned into a blubbering idiot after this burn.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Nancy and Chuck panicked when Trump wouldn't dismiss the press when botox'd Nancy requested they be dismissed. "It's called transparency Nancy". Will Nancy and Chuck chose to support the illegal aliens over U.S. citizens? Chuck? Nancy?

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

Toasted Heretic - Lol, indeed. These are the end days for Trump,

Democrats have been making that claim for three years. Is it supposed to give Democrats hope, or is it just wishful thinking?

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Democrats have been making that claim for three years. Is it supposed to give Democrats hope, or is it just wishful thinking?

I haven't been making that claim for three years. I am now though. Three years ago Trump hadn't been named in open court as having committed election fraud. Now he has. You people are just defending Cosby at this point.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Every country protects their borders. On this issue the Democrat position of illegal/borderless immigration, sanctuary cities and abolition of ICE lacks common sense and is out of step with the majority of U.S. citizens.

President Trump may lack the graces you'd expect from a president but it seems his belligerent style is needed to force the Washington swamp to get common sense things done for the sake of the people. If that's what it takes then give 'em hell Mr. President!

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Lol, indeed. These are the end days for Trump,

You guys have said this so many times none of that panned out.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

the Democrat position of illegal/borderless immigration, sanctuary cities and abolition of ICE

...and then in the real world, where those things don't actually exist...

out of step with the majority of U.S. citizens.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

out of step with the majority of U.S. citizens.

Heh, says the guy who is supporting a wall no one wants.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Nancy and Chuck panicked when Trump wouldn't dismiss the press when botox'd Nancy requested they be dismissed. "It's called transparency Nancy".

Trumpers talking about "transparency" - the only thing Trump knows about transparency is Stormy's nightgown...  Tax returns, porn star payoffs - when will we see that transparency?

Will Nancy and Chuck chose to support the illegal aliens over U.S. citizens? Chuck? Nancy?

The only one not supporting US citizens in the Colluder in Chief and his Russian-loving Republican cronies...

Every country protects their borders. On this issue the Democrat position of illegal/borderless immigration, sanctuary cities and abolition of ICE lacks common sense and is out of step with the majority of U.S. citizens.

Fake News....

President Trump may lack the graces you'd expect from a president but it seems his belligerent style is needed to force the Washington swamp to get common sense things done for the sake of the people. If that's what it takes then give 'em hell Mr. President!

This President not only lacks graces, but honesty, decency and integrity - he's a draft-dodging coward...

Democrats have been making that claim for three years. Is it supposed to give Democrats hope, or is it just wishful thinking?

Wishful thinking = Trump ain't going to jail...

"It's called transparency Nancy".

Can we have some transparency on the payments to 2 women right before the elections.

And maybe some more transparency on this whole Russia mess.

Donny forgot that his reality TV shows were scripted and staged, when its not he got slapped around by Check and Pelosi. No wonder he went back to whining and lying on twitter.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Trumpers talking about "transparency" - the only thing Trump knows about transparency is Stormy's nightgown...  Tax returns, porn star payoffs - when will we see that transparency?

Ok, so now what’s the Democrats excuse for not wanting to be transparent? Truth, honesty?

The only one not supporting US citizens in the Colluder in Chief and his Russian-loving Republican cronies...

Then Democrats supporting Iran are not colluding? Keep the spin going. Lol.

This President not only lacks graces, but honesty, decency and integrity - he's a draft-dodging coward...

It would seem that you don’t have to be decent with Democrats, it seems impossible.

Coward? So that means “any”politician that’s a draft dodger is a coward? Just want to make sure I get that for the record.

Wishful thinking = Trump ain't going to jail...

Bingo! But after 2024 and if he is indicted, anthing is possible.

Trump was absolutely brilliant in slapping down the two that think they have power

LagunaToday 07:26 am JST

Trump said in effect, go ahead, don't fund a 3,000 mile concrete barrier and I'll just have the military do it.

He clearly doesn't understand how the budget works.

No you don't listen to what Trump said "if we don't get what we want through you (congress), through the military, through anything you want to call, I will shut down the Government"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrVDk8es3N8

Looking at Pence bet he high fived Trump after every one left the room.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

go ahead donny shut down the government, starve those workers of their paychecks, well see if they think you border wall is worth it then. LOL

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Their brains can't take it...meltdown..

So does that mean Democrats will go away??

why!? majority of educated and higher wage states are blue

1 ( +3 / -2 )

slapping down the two that think they have power

but they do have power, cant get a wall to congress if it doesnt get through the house first, threatening to starve millions American of their paychecks because they wont give him his wall, thats totally on Trump.

First he peed off women and that lost him the house, go ahead donny pee off the public servants next , see what you lose next. LOL

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Here's where Trump is a moron. He cannot get the wall built without support from the Democrats. So what does he do? He tries to bully the Democrats into doing it. And that's where he's a moron, because when you bully someone, they are only going to bow down if they are weaker than you. But the Democrats are not weaker - they are about to hold the house, and therefore they have no reason to bow to his bullying. On the contrary, his bullying is going to make it more likely for them to not work with him towards building the wall, because he's antagonized them and it's on a project that the public doesn't support.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

He cannot get the wall built without support from the Democrats. So what does he do? He tries to bully the Democrats into doing it.

I think he has long since realized that the wall isn't going to be built by him or any other president. It would take several terms to get it finished, would be a national embarrassment and would require tens of thousands of immigrants to build it. That would push up his wage costs at his own businesses. America would effectively end up paying Mexico & Latin America to build it.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Democrats have been making that claim for three years. Is it supposed to give Democrats hope, or is it just wishful thinking?

I'm not a Democrat but I imagine it will give the rest of the world hope. Which may be short-lived, as I pointed out.

There is a rest of the world out there, in case Trumpets are confused.

"When the president brags that he won North Dakota and Indiana, he's in real trouble," Schumer said to the astonished press"

What a guy! Dissing North Dakota and Indiana. Pence was probably using every last ounce of self control not to go over and slap Chuck upside the head.

Chuck also said the wall is a waste of money. So $21 B for the wall is a waste but $120B a year on illegals is money well spent? Pfffft!

SCHUMER: “Elections have consequences, Mr. President.”

TRUMP: “That’s right — and that’s why the country is doing so well.”

Point Trump!

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

So $21 B for the wall is a waste

Yes, that is correct. It is a waste.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Yeah, it can be done for a lot less, as Trump said, $5B would get a lot of it done.

So how about the exponentially higher cost of having illegals come into the country, hmm? Not a waste?

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

The illegal immigrants will digging tunnels to cross the border under "The Trump Wall" footings. You cant stop them flooding in America!

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

What a guy! Dissing North Dakota and Indiana. Pence was probably using every last ounce of self control not to go over and slap Chuck upside the head.

Chuck also said the wall is a waste of money. So $21 B for the wall is a waste but $120B a year on illegals is money well spent? Pfffft!

It is a waste on money, unless it's part of an overall border control process...

SCHUMER: “Elections have consequences, Mr. President.”

TRUMP: “That’s right — and that’s why the country is doing so well.”

And I'll be indicted soon, and so will Jared and Don Jr, and my attorney is spilling his guts, and my Trump Foundation CEO was given immunity, and my Supreme Court pick just voted with the Liberals....other than that, things are great...

So $21 B for the wall is a waste but $120B a year on illegals is money well spent? Pfffft!

It won't matter when they have ladders and shovels. Also, boats to go around the outside. Also, sling shots and drones to carry the drugs. They can also come south after flying to Canada. They will have to build a wall along Canada as well. The Mexicans will keep coming through.

$5B would get a lot of it done.

For a wall that is 2,000 miles x 50 feet?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

There is a rest of the world out there, in case Trumpets are confused

But he doesn’t care. He’s the President of the US, not of the world.

Me? Hey, the discussion is about the wall.

Absolutely, I can't stand Clinton - he was a draft dodger and a perv - just like Trump (Trump's worse) - and neither should be Commander in Chief - you agree?

I disagree on both.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Me? Hey, the discussion is about the wall.

Also, ladders used to go over it. Also, shovels. Then there are the slingshots and drones to carry the drugs. What is Trump going to do about that?

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Just watched the exchange. Don't know how many times Trump continually sputtered "border security!" and "wall!", but Pelosi handled the exchange admirably, basically sticking to cost-benefit analysis.

From what I know, aside from being outrageously expensive, ineffective, a refutation of America's traditional role as a refuge, and an environmental holocaust, even border agents are against it as they would be prevented from observing activities on the southern side.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

"It won't matter when they have ladders and shovels. Also, boats to go around the outside. Also, sling shots and drones to carry the drugs. They can also come south after flying to Canada"

Oh, well, then, let's just let 'em all in. You're going to take in how many, nishikat? Oh, you're not?

Point Trump!

bass4funk: "Personally, I never cared for whatever reason, if Mexico paid for the wall or not, that was never the issue for me or most voters, it was build the wall, that’s the only thing that has ever been important."

Don't deflect (and your assumption is not true, either, although the "I don't care" is very telling). Did Trump lie or didn't he?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

"Pelosi handled the exchange admirably"

Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, oh, man, Laguna, that was a good one!

Both Pelosi and Schumer were rude. Who in their right mind ever voted for Pelosi or Schumer and what for?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

You're going to take in how many, nishikat?

If I oppose the death penalty, do I have to take in murderers? By your infant logic I have to. And you personally also have to go to Mexico and collect the wall fee, before building it.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

"Don't know how many times Trump continually sputtered "border security!" and "wall!"

Yeah, quite a few times, being as how Pelosi and Schumer don't seem to get it.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Serrano, a few facts that Pelosi likely wanted to discuss but couldn't as Trump chose instead a media circus.

Visa overstays have exceeded illegal border crossings for over a decade. No wall will stop this.

During that decade, illegal border crossings have fallen continuously.

The largest nationality of visa overstayers is European, closely followed by Canadians.(Mexico and Central America combined are about half that of Canadians alone.)

No wall will prevent visa overstays.

Aside from being expensive, useless, an environmental catastrophe, and a stain on America's reputation, the Border Patrol does not want a concrete wall as it blocks their surveilance south.

What scientists believe is the most effective measure to stem illegal migration of both types, E-Verify, is generally opposed by the business wing of the GOP.

All informed people are aware of the above points; hence, Trump's wall will remain a figure of fantasy in his own mind. Trump doesn't have the votes in the lame-duck House for it, not to mention the Senate.

Get over it. Dem's are supportive of measures to tighten border security in ways that are both more effective and cheaper than a 2,000 mile concrete wall, and so are a large number of Republicans.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Don't deflect (and your assumption is not true, either, although the "I don't care" is very telling).

The only thing that it is telling is, I just don’t care.

Did Trump lie or didn't he?

No, he didn’t. But I will say this Congress lied, he tried to keep his promise and he tried to offer a dock a deal and to even go with 2 million in order to get money for the wall. I already explained how Mexico was supposed to originally pay, that didn’t pan out, now he asked the weasely Democrats and they said no deal. Well, at this point Trump’s got nothing to lose, but the incoming Democrats that claim at least on paper they want to work with this President remains to be seen.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

You're going to take in how many, nishikat?

None. Not my problem. But the Mexicans will go over the wall anyway.

Visa overstays

You can't argue like that with a Trump voter. According to Trump voters all the illegals are Mexicans (and come from no other country). Also, Trump voters think that 100% of Mexican illegals sneak over the border and 0% are overstays. That's why I always lower it to their level and say they will just use ladders and shovels. Then they say that I will take them in my own house somehow. Some of them have even said they should be picked off by snipers. But never argue the truth with a Trump voter. They don't understand the concept of visa overstaying.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

I already explained how Mexico was supposed to originally pay

And who actually believed that joke of a promise? Trump voters are gullible.

How was Mexico supposed to pay for it? Because Trump said so? Just like his promise to have Hillary arrested for her "crimes"?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Visa overstays have exceeded illegal border crossings for over a decade. No wall will stop this.

But legislation will and the Dems were incognito on that, so do they want real border security or not?

During that decade, illegal border crossings have fallen continuously.

But have gone up 13%

The largest nationality of visa overstayers is European, closely followed by Canadians.(Mexico and Central America combined are about half that of Canadians alone.)

But they are not all coming in illegally through the border, they don’t have gangs embedded and trying to sneak into the US like they do coming in from Latin America and they also don’t have a problem with coyotes and drug smugglers.

No wall will prevent visa overstays.

But it will slow illegals down dramatically, long enough for the military and the border patrol to apprehend them and that’s what you want, now all Congress needs to do is top the catch and release program as well and chain migration we are good to go.

Aside from being expensive, useless, an environmental catastrophe, and a stain on America's reputation, the Border Patrol does not want a concrete wall as it blocks their surveilance south.

Yeah, I’m sorry, but that’s a bunch of BS, liberals can’t peddle that crap to idiots, but not to people that live along the border, the border patrol, the Pentagon, ICE and Homeland as well as the engineers. I will always listen to them before I listen to some political hack that thinks they can dangle a watch and think they can compel us to believe that garbage. I have a friend who served in the IDF a few years ago, they say the wall is the best thing, it works and it cuts down on a lot of violence. Again, I’ll listen to the people that know firsthand.

What scientists believe is the most effective measure to stem illegal migration of both types, E-Verify, is generally opposed by the business wing of the GOP.

Voter ID cards, registration etc. cut down on the chain migration, end the visa lottery program, that’s a huge start.

All informed people are aware of the above points; hence, Trump's wall will remain a figure of fantasy in his own mind. Trump doesn't have the votes in the lame-duck House for it, not to mention the Senate.

We shall see, now he’s going all in, hopefully the days of liberals trying to recruit illegals to fix their fleeing base will come to a screeching halt.

Get over it. Dem's are supportive of measures to tighten border security in ways that are both more effective and cheaper than a 2,000 mile concrete wall, and so are a large number of Republicans.

No, they don’t, they don’t have anything on border security, I have never met one liberal that can give me an answer as to how effectively they can make border security safer. Not one solid idea. For one thing, if they were really and truly serious they would first get rid of sanctuary cities, doesn’t make sense, you can’t be for border security and for sanctuary city at the same time, it doesn’t work like that, but an end to it and as long as they don’t do that, they are just spinning their wheels and hope people are dumb enough to believe their empty spin when it comes to border security

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Not one solid idea.

Reagan gave a bunch of greencards. Lke 3 million.

when it comes to border security

Border security is a joke when all you need is a ladder

I have a friend who served in the IDF a few years ago, they say the wall is the best thing

My friend is a chief of ICE NOW and he said privately to me that the wall is stupid and Trump is a very bad president.

I have a friend who served in the IDF

What does your friend think of ladders and how they can be used to go over the wall (that Mexico won't pay for)?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Personally, I never cared for whatever reason, if Mexico paid for the wall or not, that was never the issue for me or most voters,

Just like keeping their doctor was never the issue for most voters with Obamacare. Yet you repeatedly complained about Obama being wrong, that some people did end up losing their doctors. Yet with a $25 billion dollar wall you give your guy a pass. He literally made a $25 million dollar lie. Yet you called the guy who got everyone healthcare “the antichrist”.

How many other posters’ eyes are watering from the stench of hypocrisy I wonder.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I have a friend who served in the IDF a few years ago, they say the wall is the best thing

My friend at ICE (a chief officer who is currently working there) said that Trump's border wall is stupid because they will just use ladders.

The wall isn’t about security. Building a barrier in Nowhere, Texas where no one crosses isn’t improving security, it’s just burning up cash.

Trump and his fans bring up the wall in order to promote a link between minorities and crime. And that’s it. Mexicans are coming, the criminals and the rapists....say it over and over and over again. Throw in references to ISIS, MS-13, etc for good measure, then you have a narrative constantly painting negative images of Latinos.

Using statistics about visa overstayers from majority white nations doesn’t register with them. Not in any way. Unless they can tie the argument to brown people and rape, it’s a waste of time for them.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

What ever happened to Mexico paying for the wall?

That was repeated as a mantra so many times - didn't people believe in it? And now it's forgotten?

Now the US taxpayers have to pay for it? Where was that back then when they could had been more honest? "And who's paying for it? We US taxpayers!!!"

Well, at least now instead of a rubberstamp, they're having a debate, kinda like the UK Parliament

1 ( +2 / -1 )

You boys don't get it.

Politicians often promise to drive a tough bargain (when rallying their base before an election), only to engage in conciliatory rhetoric when face to face with an adversary.

The civilized “norm,” in other words, is to be a fake. But face to face with his adversaries, President Trump defended his decision regarding a wall.

It's the authenticity of a non-politician speaking out for we, the people, at last.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

One of the surest indications that the Democrats were not happy with this exchange was Pelosi repeatedly asking for the cameras to be turned off claiming they weren't supposed to be doing this publicly, you can tell they're on the losing end of the argument when she's scared the cameras are showing that she and the Democrats are for open borders, and the president is fighting to do what the American people want, which is secure our borders, build the wall and keep our country safe.

"Now the US taxpayers have to pay for it? "

Securing the border will save many more billions in not having illegals and their kids in the country draining social services.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Watched the broadcast live on CSPAN yesterday. Auntie Nancy and Uncle Chucky ran headlong into the buzz saw that is our President, and they were reduced to kindling.

First, Auntie Nancy kept saying: I don't think the media (live TV) should be privy to these discussions. (Translation: although I already vowed publicly that “transparency and openness” would characterize the Democrat-run House starting next month, when a meeting is broadcast live, it makes it impossible for me to SPIN what was said afterwards").

Second, Uncle Chucky exposed his snobby NY liberal elitism for the whole world to see with his smarmy remark directed at Indiana (with the state's former governor who's now VP sitting in the same room no less) and North Dakota voters; states whose senate seats were held by the democrats on Nov. 5th, btw.

It was historic to watch President Trump lure the representative leaders of the democrat clown show into two different traps at the same meeting.

Balakrishnan Gurumurti - i can't understand one president against the wishes of people representatives. sorry

The U.S. government is based on a balance of power among three branches of government which serve to keep each other in check. The legislative branch, the executive branch, and the judicial branch. Chuck and Nancy represent the legislative branch, while Trump and Pence represent the executive branch. All four of them are duly elected representatives of the people.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

mukashiyokatta - Unlike the last 2 years, you're gonna get PLENTY of bills landing on your desk now! And if you veto them, there WILL be a revolt!

Probably not. Before a bill can land on the President's desk, it has to be successfully passed by BOTH houses of Congress. Given the nature of the next Congress, it's unlikely that many bills will pass BOTH houses of Congress.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Elected Democrats

Republicans could have rammed through law already but they didn't. They are still technically in control. It's Trump's fault.

The word "rare" is appropriate at this time, because for the last 23 months Republicans in Congress have done nothing to protect us from the man in the White House. When the US Constitution was written, the idea of a balance of power was critical to the way the government was supposed to operate. However, at that time there were no political parties, and the writers of the Constitution had no idea that a Republican Congress would do nothing to balance out the corruptions, incompetence, and insanity of a Republican President who got defeated in the presidential election by 3 million votes.
