Sure looks like Mossad. The timing, while Trump is still POTUS is impeccable.

Hmm.

So soon after Netanyahu met with Pompeo and MBS in Saudi Arabia...

Looks like the Trump Administration wants to start a war with Iran on their way out the door.

Assassinating a scientist isn’t an act of self defense or "national security". Call it what it is: terrorism.

Double standards are all on display again. Imagine the reaction if China assassinated a leading US figure for "national security". It would be called an act of war, and the entire media apparatus and government will be calling for an all out war.

The foreign policy of the US is hijacked and controlled by blood thirsty war criminals who need to be stopped and held accountable. While there's no doubt these psychopaths like Tom Cotton, Josh Hawley, Marco Rubio, Lindsey Graham, and of course John Bolton are sincere fanatics who truly believe the US is entitled to world domination, and any country who dares to challenge them should rightfully be crushed like a cockroach, their whole power comes from the people who stand behind them, the giant arm manufacturers, contractors and other profiteers.

The swamp Trump talked about lies between the Pentagon, State Department, and the Intelligence Community. The only way to stop them is by cutting the military budget. That was the only reason i supported Bernie Sanders. Because i know he's a real socialist who will eagerly cut the military budget in half to pay for his welfare programs. While the welfare programs will be massive fail, at least he would've done a service to the world by killing the military industrial complex, which is currently terrorizing the whole world.

complicate any effort by U.S. President-elect Joe Biden to revive the detente of Barack Obama's presidency.

Trump's doing as much damage to the US as he can, making Biden's job of cleaning up messes left by Trump even more difficult to deal with.

Trump's leaving behind deaths from Covid45 and a now riskier Iran situation for Biden to deal with as Trump marches shamefully back to Mar a Lago. And Trump's backer LOL.

2 ( +9 / -7 )

Sounds like Mossad and CIA, aka Netanyahu and dumbo in the WH. Intel sharing, tacit approval from WH and executed by Mossad, both foreign adversaries of Iran.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

The usual suspects and, sadly, just another page out of their Nazi playbook.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Terror and assassins in Iran-not the first time this has happened...

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Whoever did this committed cold blooded murder. This man was a non-combatant, he was a civilian scientist.

Russians aren’t happy!!!!

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Trump's doing as much damage to the US as he can, making Biden's job of cleaning up messes left by Trump even more difficult to deal with.

What mess? Taking out Soleimani el Baghdadi? Nothing really to clean, Trump did that part. Biden should be thankful.

Trump's leaving behind deaths from Covid45

Biden won’t stop it either.

and a now riskier Iran situation for Biden to deal with as Trump marches shamefully back to Mar a Lago. And Trump's backer LOL

What? Anyway, Biden is a fool if he thinks Iran has any good intentions whatsoever when it comes to peace in the region. At least the Saudis, Israelis and more are now closely aligned against an aggressive Iran threat. They can deal with them without a soon to be weakened US.

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

Biden’s election must have the Iranian Mullahs chanting ‘Death to America “ with a little more enthusiasm. American policy towards Iran will return to the pallets of cash to kill American servicemen policy of the feckless Obama years. Trump should do all he can in the time he has left to support Israel from Iran’s goal of wiping its people off the map. He should also continue to oppose the deep state of the defense industrial complex and get the troops out of Afghanistan.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

We shouldn't forget MBS as well.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I just have to laugh at those itching to bring Trump into everything. Nevermind the fact Iran is running for cover now that Israel seems to be aligning with ME nations that 1 year ago would have been impossible.

This assassination is characteristically un-Israeli, broad daylight, on a busy road, no plausible exit strategy. Israel would never do that.

It's looking more like internal domestic sources to me. Iranian corporate interests are seeing how hopeless Iran's prospects are under a ideological monster whose' pursuit of nukes takes priority over all else. Crippling sanctions, no hope of prospering...

0 ( +3 / -3 )

I’ll really miss the past four years of no war. If president Trump’s presidency is worth anything, at least he held the warmongers at bay for a few years. Now America—imperialism?—is back! Time to lay the democracy smack down on all you backwards countries out there.

Agree!

Whats telling is no Biden folk or anti Trump folk will address this except with an easy touch of the negative button. Lots of talk talk talk, but they can never disagree with the fact that the warmongers are back in power.

Oh, and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know who assassinated this poor guy who's probably got a family too.

invalid CSRF

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

So you mean Saudi the biggest supporter of terrorism and its brutal war against Yemen?

Yup and I have never said or implied that I’m a fan of the Saudis, not one time, but if anyone can keep the Iranians n check it’s the Saudis and Israelis and that sits with me just fine.

Israel with its own treatment of the Palestinians.

Look how they’re treating the Israelis.

Netanyahu criminally charged.

Uh-huh....

Will Trump attack Iran before the end of his term?

No, he’s trying to get the troops out, but I have no doubt that once Biden is in he’ll be sending troops in to do it.

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

So you mean Saudi the biggest supporter of terrorism and its brutal war against Yemen? Israel with its own treatment of the Palestinians. Netanyahu criminally charged.

its fun to throw up a word salad with absolutely no point, no coherent thought, or context whatsoever.

Whatever. I guess if it passes the time until pudding is served...

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

Is the assassination of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, allegedly accused of masterminding a secret nuclear bomb program, some sinister Queen’s Gambit stratagem, to foil any attempt by the incoming Biden/Harris administration to restart a diplomatic policy for a reworked nuclear deal with Iran?

It certainly seems to have the dead hand of the Israeli Government security services prints all over the shooting.

Donald Trump involvement?,

To busy on twitter, and playing rounds of Golf.

I doubt if the Government of Israel would have taken the time to break Trumps concentration.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

The GOP spent $3 million in Milwaukee on a recount that increased Biden’s tally by 132 votes.

Money well spent I say!!!!

0 ( +4 / -4 )

I guess you are behind the news

No, I’m always up to date. I just laugh at the motives.

So what about the claims by Netanyahu and Israeli claims they believe there is a great possibility of Trump attacking Iran

It’s not going to happen, stop watching CNN, he’s trying to get troops out and the Pentagon and establishment wants the troops to remain.

Trump does not need to send in troops, just send in missiles.

That’s fine.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

If the GOP is willing to spend $ 22,727 for every vote that goes to Biden, I suggest we do a recount of all the 154 million votes.

We can bankrupt the GOP soon and that should be something that would make trump happy.

All he ever leaves behind are bankruptcies!!!!!

It was Russia trying to get Israel and "the west" into diplomatic problems so they don't look so bad in Belarus, Ukraine, and their own internal issues with tea.

Seems obvious.

And Russia will simply deny everything and point at any outlandish fantasy they can think up.

individual assassination is illegal under US law.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

And if Iran reacts in same manner.you all bozos in US will be in the arms..

This is purely terrorist action by israel and pentagon.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

And the cycle of violence continues....

0 ( +3 / -3 )

It's Israel. Maybe they told Trump, maybe not. They don't always get permission for stuff like this.

All of Trump's policies regarding Iran have been a failure. Less chance for diplomacy and he's only hardened Iran's hostile stance. Oh, and it's done nothing to change Iran's behavior.

Wolfpack: the feckless Obama years

Obama's use of Stuxnet did more damage to Iran's centrifuges than anything Trump ever did.

Bass: you have 70+ million people that would disagree

Disagreeing is fine. It doesn't stop Biden's executive orders.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

All of Trump's policies regarding Iran have been a failure.

if that were true then they wouldn’t be trying to look for another deal and are hoping for a deal with Biden.

Less chance for diplomacy and he's only hardened Iran's hostile stance.

No, Iran never had any intentions on trying to establish peace in the region, no it wouldn’t have helped one iota.

Obama's use of Stuxnet did more damage to Iran's centrifuges than anything Trump ever did.

if that were true then the Iranians should’ve been content to the point of not trying to threaten US interest on any level and get the did....hmmmm

Disagreeing is fine. It doesn't stop Biden's executive orders.

and it won’t stop the Senate either, and if the Republicans get the Senate in 2022 then they can make it permanent

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

The way Mohsen Fakhrizadeh and his body guards were gunned down right in Tehran will surely cause fear and anxiety among Iranian prominent figures.

Meanwhile, it is unwise for Javad Zarif to hastily point the finger at Israel while Iran cannot provide any evidence of this assassination.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Did Israel order the top Iranian scientist to be assassinated? If true, that is absolutely unacceptable to any sane people with a moral sense.

Could Tehran retaliate in any way?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Bass:. if that were true

Not sure what you are talking about. Stuxnet wiped out 20% of Iran's centrifuges. More progress than anything Trump has done.

It also helped to being Iran to the negotiating table where they agreed to concessions. All Trump did was order a military strike then backtracked, making him look indecisive and weak.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Obama's use of Stuxnet did more damage to Iran's centrifuges than anything Trump ever did.

Obama didn’t build that - Stuxnet - America did. Come on man!

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

The story of Netanyahu believing there is a strong possibility of Trump attacking Iran was in the Israeli media. Attacking Iran does not need sending troops in. Just missiles.

Shooting a few missiles at the Ayatollah’s nuclear weapons plant isn’t a bad idea. The Iranians would not likely even take pallets of cash from Biden after that. I vote in favor of cruise missiles taking out some centrifuges in the desert.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

@venze: Could Tehran retaliate in any way?

You mean like by supplying rockets to Hezbollah to randomly blow up Israeli civilians in their homes? They do that anyway- what’s the difference now?

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

You already know I don't watch CNN

Hey, how would I know? Lol

The story of Netanyahu believing there is a strong possibility of Trump attacking Iran was in the Israeli media.

It’s not going to happen, the left in Israel is just as bad as in the States, so don’t worry. Trump’s not going to do anything.

Attacking Iran does not need sending troops in. Just missiles.

You can own a gun and not use it and better to have it and not need than to need it and not have it.

Israel remains on standby.

They always have been from the beginning.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Not sure what you are talking about. Stuxnet wiped out 20% of Iran's centrifuges. More progress than anything Trump has done.

If you believe that, you can and if that were true then the Mullahs wouldn’t have to get rilled up about these sanctions, but going by Israeli intel, I trust them way more than any Iranian intel especially when it comes to the Iranians.

It also helped to being Iran to the negotiating table where they agreed to concessions. All Trump did was order a military strike then backtracked, making him look indecisive and weak.

They already are, but that’s a whole different can of worms.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

It was the Israel's who used the Stuxnet.

That’s fine. But as far as progress is concerned and according to Intel it showed something very different. Again, I wouldn’t trust a lick of what the Iranians say when it comes to any peace agreements.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Robert Malley, who served as Iran adviser to Obama and has informally advised Biden's team, said Fakhrizadeh's killing was among a series of moves that have occurred during Trump's final weeks that appear aimed at making it harder for Biden to re-engage with Iran.

Malley's statement is not necessarily true.

In case Trump has tried to cause more damages to the US–Iran relation in his final weeks, I believe his dirty works would do more good than harm to Biden's Government in re-engaging with Iran.

The BBC reporting on this is confused, mentioning four attackers, some of whom were killed.

Al Jazeera mentions his four bodyguards being killed or seriously injured, and maybe twelve attackers who got away.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Another state sanctioned assasination.

I’ll really miss the past four years of no war.

Apart from Afghanistan, Syria, Yemeni, Somalia and the many other conflicts around the world. Both openly and covertly.

The Great Satan never sleeps.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Definitely seems like the work of Mossad and possibly the CIA, the only thing I can say is, they probably had pertinent intel that this guy was working on something big and decided to take him out.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

War crime.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

The BBC reporting on this is confused, mentioning four attackers, some of whom were killed.

mosad usually use groups of about 13, up to 5 female. They are specialized at murder for racist outcomes. Worlds number one.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Blood thirsty war criminals who need to be prevented and kept responsible are hijacked and dominated by US foreign policy. The one who assassinated the scientist. Israel is expected to be at the top of every chart. They must have told Trump beforehand. Probably not. Israel claims that before withdrawing, Trump will hit Iran and train his military.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

The Great Satan never sleeps.

Parroting anti-Semitic slogans to denigrate Jews and support of terrorist states such as Iran never sleep either.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Parroting anti-Semitic slogans to denigrate Jews and support of terrorist states such as Iran never sleep either.

Luckily, I didn't use an anti-Semitic term, then. The term refers to the imperialist actions/meddlings of the USA in Iran and other parts of the world. The USSR, was referred to as the Lesser Satan, back in the day, as well.

Seeing as how the US under the Trump junta has reverted to it's demonisation of Iran, in an 80s style revival, it's quite fitting to return the favour.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

If you want to play with fire don’t be surprised when you get burned.

Amazing how EVERY TIME the republicans lose, they have to set the world ablaze and destroy the place, and then whine about democrats trying to fix it and balance the budget (note, both trade deficit and our debt has gone way UP under Trump). Bush I, got us into Somalia with no exit plan or even a strategy there, then his stupid son got us into Afghanistan (and they were willing to hand over Bin Oladen if we only showed them proof, just like every other country would have asked) and so Obama spent years cleaning up those messes! Now Iran. I am sure this time they will use nukes because it will be far more “fun” and far more difficult for Biden to get out of!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Israel has a nuclear program and nukes. Iran just has a nuclear program that was actually kept at bay after the 2015 nuclear deal. It was Israeli pressure that forced Trump to tear up the nuclear deal which resulted in Iran going back to enriching more uranium. Hopefully Biden isn't so easily manipulated by Netanyahu and the far-right Israeli government.
