Whilst it is sickening it's a pathetic act of terrorism, it is nothing compared to the stuff vomited up in France in 2015 - yet French telly ran the same images "en directe" all night as if the president had been assassinated or something.

Both the government and the media seem to want everyone scared.

Oh and bollocks to Charlie Hebdo. I'm all for freedom of speech but reprinted once again the cartoons is provocation. It's not about freedom of speech it's no different to the provocation of weak-minded Americans by Donald Trump.

"We are still in a war against Islamist terrorism," Darmanin said in a twitter post.

Yes, and Muslims are still in a war against the West and its cultural values.

Is it really possible for the Muslims to co-exist with the people of Europe in Europe and the liberal values they embrace? When in Rome do as the Romans do, right?

The main suspect in Friday's attack is 18 years old, a police source said. The interior minister said he was not on a security services watchlist.

So we know it is a "knifeman" and he is "18 years old". No word about any belief system that might have driven him.

I think there is enough information in the article for you to make an educated guess, e.g.

The suspected attacker was from Pakistan

The second man is Algerian

............ in front of the Paris office building where Islamist militants gunned down employees of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo five years ago.

Why go out of our way to needlessly insult the religious sensibilities of over a billion Muslims around the world who didn't stab anyone?

You realize that Charlie Hedbo insults everyone, do you. Which is its job as a satire magazine. But when one group reacts with riots and murder to being lampooned, then we have a problem.

Every news outlet in every country that claims to respect free speech and a free press should reproduce that image of Muhammad in solidarity with these victims and the original victims of Islamic extremism.

The problem with this idea is that it isn’t always the decision makers who get hit. Jihadis have no problem whatsoever killing innocents when they get offended.

Still, I think the civilized world shouldn’t bow to backward ideas of blasphemy. I think your idea of spreading the risk is the right thing to do.

Your plan also sounds like extremism. Why go out of our way to needlessly insult the religious sensibilities of over a billion Muslims around the world who didn't stab anyone? It would be much more productive for France to set up a repatriation fund that would assist any disgruntled Muslims to return to their ancestral countries of origin.

If the religion of Islam is continually producing extremist behavior and its followers are becoming violent in secular countries, then it is time to control and restrict Islamic teachings, along with the number of mosques in those countries.
