why would russia do such a thing while the world cup is on.

Sound logic is anathema here!! Only biased opinions laced with no evidence at all are acceptable.

sounds like bs to me, why would russia do such a thing while the world cup is on. spreading anti russian pap imo.

It seems the British authorities start new round of anti-Russian hysteria because their campaign against world football championship 2018 in Russia is failed.

For sure. It has to be that, case closed.

It's guesswork for everyone except those in the know.

I fail to see how it's anti-Russian, though, to suspect a well-versed player in this deadly game.

Putin's and his govt are responsible for siding with the murderous Assad, invading the Ukraine and Georgia, downing a plane full of innocent people, using polonium to murder a Russian national in London, assasinating journalists and critics of the Putin regime. And many more atrocities.

The administration has form. Hence the suspicion.

Sleep Agents handling the Nerve agent and something went wrong ?

Sounds like this could make for a good old spy novel.

Britain's security minister had this to say,

"The working assumption would be that these are victims of either the consequences of the previous attack or something else"

Faultless logic.

seeing how the Brit government can shut down the press when they see fit as in the Tommy Robinson case

It was the court that shut down Tommy Robinson, as they would to anyone who was in contempt. Something to do with the principle of getting a fair trial rather than trial by media. Maybe your country doesn't have such a principle?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

By the way, what’s your explanation?

Ill reiterate. We don't have all the evidence. Jumping to crass conclusions based off of preconceived bias is nothing short of immature childishness.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

it's silly to think, that Moscow decided to use chemic in GB again. More over those pare were common Britons and they didn't threat Putin. It seems the British authorities start new round of anti-Russian hysteria because their campaign against world football championship 2018 in Russia is failed.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Well, it has to be the Russians. Because this "deadly" nerve agent isn't so deadly.

As I pointed out to you before when you said the same thing, there are ways of treating those who have been exposed to the agent.

Patients exposed to nerve agents are normally given the drug atropine, which reduces muscle spasms and the production of saliva. It needs to be given as soon after exposure as possible – ideally within minutes.

It is likely that atropine was used to treat the Skripals, said Alastair Hay, emeritus professor of environmental toxicology at the University of Leeds.

Doctors may also use a drug called pralidoxime, an antidote to organophosphate pesticides and chemicals.

Meanwhile in Yemen.....

A genocide and truly horrific but again, off-topic.

For speaking out against a crime gang. What has the world come to when lefties start defending child rapists because they rubbed against there sensibilities?

If the English nationalist and thug Tommy Robinson cared so much about the abused children, he wouldn't have prejudiced the trial after being repeatedly warned not to.

Anyway, all this fanboy stuff for the alt-right is veering off-topic a wee bit. It seems that the novichok could be the remnants of the original attack and it was clumsily disposed of.

We won't know yet as there's an ongoing investigation and no govt is going to is going to lay down all their cards whilst this is happening.

The most curious issue of the current case is that it happened Saturday morning and that since a lot of local police action took place. But news of the incident emerged only early today. None of the pieces I read explains the four day long lack of reporting. The British government obviously prohibited all news of the case until early today and now prohibits to explain the censoring.

Why?

I don’t know. I’m not privy to that kind of information. I just don’t see how people from the other side of the planet can rule out the possibilities mentioned. Perhaps they can link to sources we can all enlighten ourselves with.

By the way, what’s your explanation?

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Russia has interefered on British soil before. It's not above carrying out assasinations, disappearances and espionage. It's hardly a leap to have them in mind when investigating.

Seems like common sense but conspiracy theorists operate on a higher intellectual level and can rule out Russian involvement from the other side of the planet.

I’m just waiting for their ideas on what did happen here. It’s very entertaining when they are firing on all cylinders.

Come on guys, don’t be coy.

Russia has interefered on British soil before. It's not above carrying out assasinations, disappearances and espionage. It's hardly a leap to have them in mind when investigating.

And I'm all over the shop. Whatever that means.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

The incident looks even more funny after the UK government spoke against Trump-Putin meeting. And they just reported like a day ago that those 'who poisoned the Skrypals' left the country right after the crime. Did they return? Or the special agencies failed?Or they ll make up some new stories so people don't get bored?

Lets see how the UK government tries to stitch it all together.

I kinda lost track of how Skrypals are doing. They don't seem to be walking free..

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

At one point the video was being viewed by more than 10,000 people, as Robinson attempted to film defendants entering the court and discussed the case, which is subject to a separate reporting restriction.

Our GOP Lawmakers are in Moscow extending a warm hand of friendship to these murderous thugs.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

It's likely the Novichock was left over from the Skripal incident. Despite mass decontamination still going on, they are going to miss some.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

So, in your intellect, everything is at it seems and the CIA and MI6 did not overthrow countless of governments.

You're all over the shop, mate.

Not everything is as it seems but some cases are.

Russia has interefered on British soil before. It's not above carrying out assasinations, disappearances and espionage. It's hardly a leap to have them in mind when investigating.

That doesn't mean that the British intelligence forces haven't been up to well dodgy assorted assignations, collusions and nefarious whatnots, either.

You do recall Jimzo the Brit government shutting down the conversation of Tommy Robinson right?

This is appalling nonsense.

He was done for contempt of court

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/tommy-robinson-jailed-contempt-court-facebook-live-video-stephen-yaxley-lennon-a8374121.html

He admitted committing contempt of court by publishing information that could prejudice an ongoing trial via a live stream on his Facebook page.

At one point the video was being viewed by more than 10,000 people, as Robinson attempted to film defendants entering the court and discussed the case, which is subject to a separate reporting restriction.

@fizz Your argument is so friggen weak.

My argument is for a free, for-profit press to be allowed to print what's legal to print without state interference.

I don't even understand why you bothered to comment on this

Is a free press allowing people to express opinions worrying to you? Or are you saying I shouldn't have an opinion that differs from yours.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

You do recall Jimzo the Brit government shutting down the conversation of Tommy Robinson right?

Yes. That’s why I said don’t trust the government.

I also recall conspiracy nutters on here going into overdrive on this site over the Jo Cox murder. I’m sure you recall it too.

Liars and nutters. Take both with a pinch of salt. Particularly the conspiracy nutters.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Putin did it! He's also responsible for contacting the aliens.

Putin and aliens in cahoots with banksters, the MSM, the deep state, the Jo Cox assassins and the people behind the controlled explosions on 9/11.

Did I miss anyone?

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Lots of CT BS on this story. Is it leftovers from the original attack, is it a new one, is it to discredit Russia or the EU?

One thing for sure, it has nothing to do with the vile Tommy Robinson, who is no martyr, rather a racist idiot who jeopardised a case against paedophiles by his refusal to stop "reporting" on it.

And it's not the first time he's shown contempt for an ongoing case.

I don't even understand why you bothered to comment on this seeing how the Brit government can shut down the press when they see fit as in the Tommy Robinson case.

This far right stance and distortion of the truth is lamentable. Robinson was done for contempt.

I remember the conspiracy theory nutters quacking like mad after Jo Cox was murdered before the EU referendum. All kinds of insane drivel.

There is a sensible middle ground between not trusting what your hear from the government and jumping to nutjob websites.

A free, for-profit press should be allowed to print whatever is legally permitted, regardless how biased it might be. If people want to attack an outlet because of its perceived bias, there are numerous others they can find that support them.

Some people will choose to believe only reports supporting their beliefs. Same as it ever was.

the fakest of fake news stories,

Learning requires pattern recognition. On one end of a pattern recognition scale there’s pattern blindness, the inability to recognize patterns, seeing events as random and not connected in any meaningful way.

At the other end there’s apophenia, ‘the tendency to perceive connections and meaning between unrelated things’. And of course there are all points in between.

People seeing this ‘poisoning’ event, or just about any other event for that matter, from either of those two ends use their conformation biases to defend their beliefs instead of waiting for investigations to determine what actually happened. And even then probably won’t believe the findings if they don’t support their personal biases.

A free, for-profit press should be allowed to print whatever is legally permitted, regardless how biased it might be. If people want to attack an outlet because of its perceived bias, there are numerous others they can find that support them.

Mainstream media pretty pathetic.

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

you mean at the very SAME spot?

About 11 km away. Both a stone's throw from Porton Down.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Putin did it! He's also responsible for contacting the aliens.

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

Lol you mean at the very SAME spot? And just before the meeting with trump? The dark side is getting sloppy in it's desperation.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

The fakest of fake news stories, manufactured in a lab by ex-M16 agents Christopher Steele and Pablo Miller to promote anti-Russian hysteria and prevent a Trump-led rapprochment with Russia.

"Neither Porton Down nor the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons has any idea where the substance to which the Skripals were allegedly exposed was made. Boris Johnson’s great “coup” of obtaining a majority vote at the OPCW to expand its powers to place blame for chemical attacks, has proven rather otiose as the OPCW has no evidence on which to base any blame for Salisbury. In fact, four months on, May and Johnson’s shrill blaming of Russia remains entirely, 100% evidence free."
