Besides, there is a difference between a candidate doing opposition research overseas, and a president using foreign policy as leverage to do opposition research.

They weren’t subpoenaed. The court can override that if the subpoena is found to be legal. But you knew it wasn’t legal and Schiff withdrew it right before the judge said he would rule. Then never bothered to subpoena Bolton at all.
