We all know the FBI is corrupt.

The Democrats have radicalized Kavanaugh. I predict Roe v. Wade is toast

-10 ( +9 / -19 )

It is very sad that the major motivation for many of those fighting justice Kavanaugh's nomination is to protect the right to terminate the life of children in the womb.

If this is what this war is about, may the babies win.

-16 ( +7 / -23 )

Senators may be reviewing the FBI report, but voters have been reviewing the deceit, depravity and hate that it takes to destroy good people that democrats seem to be so at ease with. They lost this round by losing moderates with atrocious antics, slanderous presumption and legal deception.

Poll numbers in the last week are quite clear as the lagging GOP gap for midterms has been halved--with undecideds clearly shifting to the right.

https://www.npr.org/2018/10/03/654015874/poll-amid-kavanaugh-confirmation-battle-democratic-enthusiasm-edge-evaporates

Major backfire.

Absolutely. Radicalization happening overnight indicates mental stability and a judicial temperament. Kavanaugh's definitely the correct person for the job.

Who knows what goes through his head during a marathon boozing session?

3 ( +14 / -11 )

Speaking of judicial temperament, recall Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s rhetorical assault on Donald Trump in July 2016. “I can’t imagine what the country would be—with Donald Trump as our President,” the Justice averred, adding that the possibility brought to mind her late husband’s advice: “Now it’s time for us to move to New Zealand.”

How does that rate on partiality?

It is highly likely Trump will have a third SCOTUS pick for RBG’s replacement. No doubt part of the dem’s scorched earth tactic with Kavanaugh is to make future conservative SCOTUS nominations so horrific to consider that no one will accept.

-1 ( +11 / -12 )

Who knows what goes through his head during a marathon boozing session?

Spot on. It'll be a great day for the rule of law when Kavanaugh is drunk on the bench. It'll be similar to when that paragon of conservative values Rehnquist was making decisions whilst blasted out of his mind on opiates.

Exactly! Providing kme's opinions about a person whilst not acting in your official capacity is an exact equivalent to attacking a political party and pushing Clinton conspiracy theories during your job interview. It's exactly the same. Why can't libs see this?!

We believe all survivors" ...

Believing before investigating amounts to religious faith and it's a very dangerous mindset.

Americans are now guilty once accused.

Totally agree.

It blows my mind that some Americans seem so willing to throw innocent until proven guilty under the bus.

Can they not see the logical consequences for the legal system as a whole?

5 ( +15 / -10 )

It blows my mind that some Americans seem so willing to throw innocent until proven guilty under the bus.

It blows my mind that people think not disparaging the alleged victim is tossing out the innocent t until proven guilty standard. Believing all survivors means allowing an investigation to go forward instead of railing in the alleged victim.

This is a backlash against the culture that created the situation in which 2/3 of all sexual assaults go unreported.

0 ( +8 / -8 )

If they can rush an investigation like this through so quickly, why can't Trump set a strict timeline for the IRS to finish auditing his tax returns, so they can finally be released?

I could have done a more thorough investigation with an Ovaltine decoder ring.

6 ( +14 / -8 )

Cue the screaming helplessly at the sky.

-12 ( +5 / -17 )

Not having a new SCOTUS member before elections cannot be allowed if you are Republican. It just cannot. Way to important for the next 20+ yrs.

It will hurt at election time, how much, nobody knows, but it has to be done.

Dems did a good job getting 4 weeks of news coverage about the "evil Republicans" who don't care about women at all.

Will that be enough to win any seats? I don't know.

My absentee ballot arrived this week. Think I'll vote yes to allow Sunday brunch meals to include alcohol. It is currently illegal here before noon.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

"I'm sick and tired of seeing women's experiences not be given weight,"

Among other negatives, after an ever so brief period when women were finally believed after claiming they'd been assaulted, the Trump era will be looked back on as a time when privileged class males could get away with assault because as always they could afford the best legal protection and because a fellow privileged class male was on the Supreme Court.

@burningbush Americans are now guilty once accused.

Totally false. Weak flame. Hopefully the US under Trump, with a GOP (the party of the privileged class) controlled Congress and under the Trump Supreme Court won't copy Russia where spousal battery has been decriminalized.

4 ( +9 / -5 )

Of course they should confirm him. The problem is the Democrats were never seeking the truth, they were only seeking to destroy and create chaos. Well, shame on you Democrats, you have once again shown your true colors as over 50 percent of America knows you will reap what you sow. All the liberal posters here should thank the Politicians they elected for representing their base in such a pathetic way.

-8 ( +7 / -15 )

Several people came forward to describe Kavanaugh's drinking habits in high school and college, which go contrary to what he said to the senate panel. Plus the definitions he gave of several expressions on his calendar that don't match reality. It's more than likely that he lied to senators while under oath.

That's what they should be concerned about.

6 ( +13 / -7 )

The elephant in the room:  Why, after denying President Obama his selection for the Supreme Court and keeping the seat open for over one year, are Republicans now in such a rush to confirm?

It blows my mind that some Americans seem so willing to throw innocent until proven guilty under the bus.

Says the crowd that all chanted "Lock Her Up" - it's spelled H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-S-Y....

8 ( +13 / -5 )

Really, you think she is innocent? Oh Bill is innocent too.....

-7 ( +6 / -13 )

@bintaro That's what they should be concerned about.

Exactly. I think most #kavanopes agree. Most think a man who's dishonest should never serve on the Supreme Court. Another argument against him is he's said to believe the executive should be granted more power than most Americans, especially those who fear Trump becoming more of a despot, believe an executive should have. Most Americans don't want a king. Or tsar. Or autocrat of any kind.

Oh Bill is innocent too.....

Halloween month so the ghosts of the Clintons are once again haunting rightists.

3 ( +8 / -5 )

Say hello to the Left's October Surprise.

MAGA/KAG!

-10 ( +7 / -17 )

For weeks I wondered why Kavanaugh supporters were too cowardly to explain the Republicans' choice to cram this confirmation down America's throat. I have been forced to consider the possibility that they don't support him in spite of his horrible, unprofessional traits. They support him because of his horrible, unprofessional traits. For the party of Trump, inflicting trauma and suffering through incompetent government appointments is its own reward.

2 ( +10 / -8 )

Believing all survivors means allowing an investigation to go forward instead of railing in the alleged victim.

But she still hasn’t gone to the cops! She would have at least some credibility if she filed her case with the Montgomery County Maryland police department. They have stated that they are willing to pursue the case despite the fact that the statute of limitations in effect at the time no longer exists. Why not seek justice and put your rapist in jail? The reason she won’t is because there is more evidence that Ford is a Leftist political operative than a sexual assault and attempted rape/murder “survivor“.

She doesn’t want justice, she wants to inflict her political views on other Americans. She wants to destroy Kavanaugh to save Roe vs Wade. There is little doubt that abortion rights will be sent back to the states if Kavanaugh is confirmed this weekend. There is extreme desperation to save it - it’s almost a religious like obsession. It’s why the Leftists activists have been harassing Republicans at restaurants, airports, and in their workplaces. It’s why they shoot Republicans in baseball fields and send poison to them in the mail. The Lefts extremism is getting very dangerous. It’s worrisome that something terrible might happen.

-6 ( +7 / -13 )

It blows my mind that some Americans seem so willing to throw innocent until proven guilty under the bus.

Al Franken is wondering the same thing. Doing away with the right to due process is a dead end for Democrats.

-5 ( +7 / -12 )

Although I am against Kavanaugh's appointment and I am not a supporter of Trump I find the poster used in the photo to be scary. This means that ALL accused of any type of sexually related crime are believed to be guilty based on the testimony of a single person.

I deplore any person that commits rape or any sexual crime against a woman, child, or a man for that matter but I would not want to live in this type of world where one is believed to have committed such an act based o the words of one person.

There is no logic anymore. It is all based on emotion.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

there is more evidence that Ford is a Leftist political operative

Ha ha.

Show us that evidence, please. Does she have a Che poster on her bedroom wall?

Don't worry, though. Boofing Bart Renate Alumnius O'Kavanaugh will get the SCOTUS seat he won through all those years of honest hard work, including getting into Yale with no family connections at all (except his grandfather's).

And then you can enjoy the "justice" of watching liberal heads explode.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Doing away with the right to due process

A confirmation hearing is not a court of law.

Besides which, Trump supporters seem to have little regard for the latter anyway. Pardons by Trump are always a legitimate way out as long as those convicted remain loyal to the Don.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Why, after denying President Obama his selection for the Supreme Court and keeping the seat open for over one year,

Why do the GOP have to give a Democrat President nominee a hearing if that nominee is not a true conservative? Makes No sense, especially knowing that the GOP didn't trust the man.

are Republicans now in such a rush to confirm?*

Why are Democrats in such a hurry to all of a sudden trying to delay, delay and delay the process?

Don't worry, though. Boofing Bart Renate Alumnius O'Kavanaugh will get the SCOTUS seat he won through all those years of honest hard work, including getting into Yale with no family connections at all (except his grandfather's).

Sad, now the left think name calling will in someway destroy Kavanaugh. Lol "Brett, your mom wears army boots!" Yeah, that should hurt. Lol

And then you can enjoy the "justice" of watching liberal heads explode.

Bingo!

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

While I do think it's bad for us to pass judgement without being givin all the facts, the system itself has failed simply by lack of transparency of investigated facts for one of the most important government jobs in America.

That being said, we do know that one of the accusers was confident enough to take a lie detector test that she passed. Usually, where there's smoke, there is fire. Sadly, we the public, will never get to hear all the details of this investigation and he'll likely be approved. Just another example of divisive political practice in America.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

bass4funkToday  09:30 am JST

Why do the GOP have to give a Democrat President nominee a hearing if that nominee is not a true conservative?

Yeah, no Republican today even understands what it means to be a true conservative.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

@Stuart - The lack of transparency is disgusting. To appease those on "both sides" since things have devolved to levels of divisiveness I have never seen; similarly, under Obama there were many instances where transparency was lacking (vis a vis NAFTA as one good example).

In the end the world is run by the powerful and it is to their benefit to keep us pawns as divided as possible. They are doing a very good job at it.

Allowing single viewings of one hour only of the report is not a thorough and proper process.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

This is not a criminal investigation – though it probably should be – this is to determine whether he is fit to be appointed a Supreme Court judge.

Regardless of the veracity of the allegations against him, and even accounting for the stress he must be under, judging from the way Brett Kavanaugh has presented himself throughout the investigation, he is not fit to work at Walmart, let alone be appointed to one of the highest positions in the US.

He comes across as having no integrity, or tact, and being of rather low intellect.

Then again, this is the US in 2018 we are talking about, so perhaps he is overqualified.....

3 ( +7 / -4 )

Maybe the turning point in the current zeitgeist of any ancient wrong being called out without evidence and treated  as the end of the world.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Why, after denying President Obama his selection for the Supreme Court and keeping the seat open for over one year,

Why do the GOP have to give a Democrat President nominee a hearing if that nominee is not a true conservative? Makes No sense, especially knowing that the GOP didn't trust the man.

That's a dodge - provide an answer to the question above or just say you can't answer it...

are Republicans now in such a rush to confirm?*

Why are Democrats in such a hurry to all of a sudden trying to delay, delay and delay the process?

See above...

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Monkey; it's interesting that nobody brought up Kavanaugh's character or demeanor at any time during the Senate hearings prior to the Ford allegation. Even then, only when it was apparent that her story, while sincere, was not provable to any legal standard. Nor has any allegation regarding his character or demeanor ever been made during his 25 years of public service. Methinks it is a shibboleth, designed to distract.

In the end, it won't matter. He will be confirmed, serve for three decades, life will go on, another Yale graduate will take his rightful place in the upper echelons of power in America.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Activists' sign: WE BELIEVE ALL SURVIVORS"

Even if their stories are full of holes and there's no evidence backing up their stories.

This Saturday is going to be a blast. The Democrats are going to chimp out.

I bet Kavanaugh has a couple of beers to celebrate his confirmation.

Get the popcorn boys.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

…..what a god damned mess the US has become! Thank goodness I don't live there, seems the polarization of people based on political parties & also on gender is going to get much worse before/if it gets dialed back any

What a mess….

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Yeah, no Republican today even understands what it means to be a true conservative.

I agree and No Democrat today even understands what it means to be a true Democrat.

4 ( +10 / -6 )

It's interesting how many downvotes the people who are worried about the "we believe the survivors" part are getting.

I can understand the idea that these people have as well as how it's important to have a certain amount of belief in people who report a crime of any kind. But if the whole "belief" in "survivors" testimony is going to be the basis of whether someone is guilty or innocent, is definitely a scary notion.

Now don't get me wrong, rape/sexual abuse is horrific and I don't wish it on anyone, as well as I understand that the victims of it surely don't want to relive the experience, but, I do think that while initially we should take someone's claim into account, it must be investigated, and proven, before we think about lynching the "bad guy". This seems to be the idea that is common now, "we believe the survivors" so the person accused obviously did it, so lets ruin him/her.

I think this is probably the part that worries people the most.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

@serrano This Saturday is going to be a blast. The Democrats are going to chimp out.

Once again providing evidence of the second of Trump follower's 'principles', i.e. troll the libs, which of course is based on their first principle, which is believe everything Trump (and his global media supporters) say, then repeat it.

Democratic principles, the law, honesty, morality, ethics, compassion have been dropped by Trump supporters, many of whom say distrust women who claim to have been assaulted.

But I guess that's to be expected when Trump followers say things like 'I'd rather be Russian than Democrat'. After all, in Russia spousal battery has been decriminalized.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

I bet Kavanaugh has a couple of beers to celebrate his confirmation

From the sounds of it, he’ll be shouting for Ralph in the toilet bowl.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Sadly, we the public, will never get to hear all the details of this investigation and he'll likely be approved. Just another example of divisive political practice in America.

Actually that’s not true. Ford can present her evidence to the police and a proper investigation can be conducted. They have stated that they are willing to pursue the investigation despite the fact that the allegation is 36 years old.

If Kavanaugh is found guilty during a trial in which the defendant is allowed due process the Dems probably would not even have to impeach- he would likely resign. Bring the case. That’s what the police and prosecutors are for.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

"Kavanaugh does not belong on Supreme Court, retired Justice Stevens says"

From the yahoo article:

"Stevens, 98"

OK, he can be excused for not being being able to think clearly any more.

"Stevens, a lifelong Republican and appointee of President Gerald Ford who ended up as a generally liberal voice on the court by the time he retired in 2010"

As you can see his mind was already compromised 8 years ago.

It's a total sham. The Senate is intent on confirming this abuser clown no matter what. He's been blubbering like a fool all week, crying like a baby and bringing the 'God and family' factor into the equation. And for the FBI investigation being allowed for one week by that braggart juvenile abuser Diaper-wearer Trump - well, he's smugly grinning now because when he reports to Putin next time he'll get a pat on the back.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

It's a total sham. The Senate is intent on confirming this abuser clown no matter what.

Evidently not, if the FBI can't confirm after 7 background checks, then we can drop the left conspiracy theories.

He's been blubbering like a fool all week, crying like a baby

After 28 years of public service and without a blemish and once it came out he was going to be appointed to the highest court in the land, the left within 23 min. of the announcement said, they would oppose him and when the hearings proved that he was smarter than all the senators, Feinstein delivered an accusation at the 11th hour with the hopes of stalling or derailing the Judges confirmation hearing, they wanted an FBI background check and then when they got their way and STILL not satisfied they cry foul. Kavanaugh had every right to get emotional, as I have said before, if it were me....well let's say, TV viewers would be glued to the set

and bringing the 'God and family' factor into the equation.

Why? What's wrong with that. He's a strong devout Christian, nothing wrong with that.

And for the FBI investigation being allowed for one week by that braggart juvenile abuser Diaper-wearer Trump - well, he's smugly grinning now because when he reports to Putin next time he'll get a pat on the back.

LOL, The left are never satisfied. As McConnell said, be careful what you wish for.

Why would they need to interview Ford again? Does she want to change her story to something even less detailed?

2 ( +7 / -5 )

Why are Democrats in such a hurry to all of a sudden trying to delay, delay and delay the process?

They learned it from watching this:

> Why do the GOP have to give a Democrat President nominee a hearing if that nominee is not a true conservative? Makes No sense, especially knowing that the GOP didn't trust the man.

Us conservatives do not like it when the libs use our tactics against us. It's not fair! We thought of it first!

How the libs act with Kavanaugh is completely different than how we conservatives act regarding Hillary. We aren't happy with the 400,000 investigations into Hillary because the FBI is corrupt and we didn't get what we wanted.

Libs need to understand to do what we conservatives say, not what we conservatives do. Smh.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Why would they need to interview Ford again? Does she want to change her story to something even less detailed?

Yeah?! It's not like Dr. Ford didn't give all of her information during the hearing. Libs and their insistence on thorough investigations. Repugnant.

As a conservative, I can't wait for Sessions to be fired so we can have a few more investigations of Hillary.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

The Trump lies continue. This is the Trump post-truth era, another era of big lies, with fake news, alt facts and developing facts generated daily by Trump.

But you have absolutely nothing to say about the left media that are on a scale larger than the entire continent of Africa.

Or maybe his minions because he's too busy playing golf and looking after his investments.

No, you guys are just angry because your plan so far backfired.

Yeah?! It's not like Dr. Ford didn't give all of her information during the hearing. Libs and their insistence on thorough investigations. Repugnant.

Ask Ford what? So many people including her ex said her allegations are false, her friends said she was helped by Ford to learn how to beat a polygraph, the woman can't name specific people at this party, not sure of times or dates and meanwhile, we know that she is a strong liberal, a Hillary supporter. Now maybe something happened to her, but the woman and her stories are like holes in a ship, they are filling up and fast, her credibility is shot, the game was well played though.

-3 ( +5 / -8 )

"We believe all survivors"

Sounds reasonable enough, if they are truly survivors. Unfortunately, this has turned into "we believe all accusers", and there are plenty of examples of accusers who turned out not to be survivors...

3 ( +7 / -4 )

@bas4 But you have absolutely nothing to say about the left media that are on a scale larger than the entire continent of Africa.

Bit of confusion on my part. Maybe in places like China, Russia, North Korea and other totalitarian states the media and the state executive can be compared because the exec owns and/or controls them, making them pretty much the same thing, but comparing the US executive with the media suggests a pretty basic lack of understanding of US systems. Unless that's wishful thinking on your part.

And on a peculiar comparison note, I don't understand how the media can be compared with a continent, let alone a housing lot.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

No need for any FBI investigation to determine the suitability of Bart O'Kavanaugh for SCOTUS since he has patently disqualified himself with his own weasel-mouthed ranting and hissy fits. His Animal House performance demeaned the office he aspired to, but we can trust the ruthless, unscrupulous Republicans after consulting their sham inquiry to ignore his disrespectful demeanor and his bathetic, self-pitying protestations of innocence. As always, blind to the truth, they will look past last week's farcical antics and only have eyes for Trump's pick garbed, like the proverbial Emperor, in his beautiful "new clothes". Once more they are now about to press Trump's poisoned chalice to their lips and drink deeply from the draft of their self-destruction. If so, the women of America will soon be heard from!

0 ( +5 / -5 )

The allegations by Dr Ford against Kavanugh, while important, are now irrelevant, at least in terms of his Supreme Court appointment.

They were surpassed by his unhinged testimony in front of the Senate Committee last week.  Judicial temperament is a key variable in the overall assessment of a candidate to the Court - and he failed spectacularly with his over-the-top, emotional performance.   Judicial impartiality is also critical - and by invoking the ghosts of the Clinton's demonstrated clear partisanship.

On these two grounds, irrespective of the sexual assault allegation, he is clearly unqualified and should be denied.

I wouldn't have chosen Justice Roberts, but it's clear he has the appropriate judicial temperament and is impartial.

It speaks volumes that Republicans can't find another more qualified candidate that Kavanaugh...

What do you mean she didn’t give all her information? She couldn’t even answer the basics of what they asked her much less anything extra. Her lawyers still won’t turn over the supporting documents they have been asked for 3 times now. Delay tactic.

Exactly. So much winning! MAGMA.

Ask Ford what? So many people including her ex said her allegations are false,

Totally. It's completely different than Kav's classmates contradicting his testimony. It's so different that the corrupt FBI didn't need to

interview them.

her friends said she was helped by Ford to learn how to beat a polygraph

Indeed! Damn Ford helping herself. Damn her!

, the woman can't name specific people at this party, not sure of times or dates and meanwhile, we know that she is a strong liberal, a Hillary supporter.

And we conservatives know that someone's political affiliation tells us all we need to know about their credibility. Since Kav's a good conservative, his political affiliation means nothing negative. It doesn't work both ways!

Now maybe something happened to her, but the woman and her stories are like holes in a ship, they are filling up and fast, her credibility is shot, the game was well played though.

Too right! Kav's stories are airtight, which is why the corrupt FBI didn't bother to interview any of his former classmates that contradicted Kav's testimony. We know anyone that contradicts the Kav are just Hillary supporting libs. ROFL.

Incorrect. We want a justice that isn't impartial and doesn't hesitate to hit back. It's the only way justice can be served. Oh my . . .

No, I was just implying that the left out of control MSM are now run by totalitarian fascists.

They were surpassed by his unhinged testimony in front of the Senate Committee last week.

Don't blame him, no person would react well under a setup.

Judicial temperament is a key variable in the overall assessment of a candidate to the Court - and he failed spectacularly with his over-the-top, emotional performance.

Attack a persons family and expect for them to be calm, ruin a persons life and expect them to be calm, threaten a persons spouse and mock their children and expect them to be calm. Given what he went through, I'm surprised that he didn't jump up and strangle those idiots, I know I would have. He had every right to be emotionally outraged and then some. Yes, that was one of the stall idiotic tactics that the Dems used to slow him down to be scrutinized about that, but I think he did exceptionally well given the sneaky ambush he got, better than I would have.

Judicial impartiality is also critical - and by invoking the ghosts of the Clinton's demonstrated clear partisanship.

As if Ruth Ginsberg is a centrist. ROFL. The Clinton's have always, always hated Kavanaugh and who is anyone on JT to make the claim as if they know what the Clinton's intentions are or what they are capable of, he would know because he would get the intelligence on that from various sources. Washington isn't that big of a town.

On these two grounds, irrespective of the sexual assault allegation, he is clearly unqualified and should be denied.

Well, that won't happen, even if the left wants it. he's more than qualified, I feel bad that he had to go through that fiasco with the slithering Democrats, but it should have been expected.

I wouldn't have chosen Justice Roberts, but it's clear he has the appropriate judicial temperament and is impartial.

Impartial, not really and what a disappointment he turned out to be for conservatives on many issues, but he wasn't personally attacked, would like to see how he would have reacted, probably in the same manner if he is human.

It speaks volumes that Republicans can't find another more qualified candidate that Kavanaugh...

No, the Dems are afraid of Kavanaugh and as his record suggests, he is a strict constitutionalist, which works out great for the country and conservatives, but will in no doubt be bad for liberals that have always depended on activist courts to pass their radical and deeply flawed legislations.

At first I gave Christine Blasey Ford the benefit of the doubt and thought something might have happened to her, she just got the parties involved all wrong. I don't believe a word she says anymore. She made up the whole remodeling and therapy thing as proven by the Palo Alto district records. And her lawyers knew it. Otherwise they would not have refused to turn over the therapist's notes and the vid for the polygraph. Ford is a fraud, period. 7 FBI investigations on Kavanaugh and nothing. Kavanaugh is innocent.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

It is obvious that Dr. Ford was just a pawn in Feinstein's great chess match. I still feel sorry for her. There is obviously something in her background that is haunting her, and the Democrats exploited it for political gain. She is in need of some support and counselling.

For the long term, the court will swing right for a while. Give it ten years, Justice Thomas will stroke out or keel over from diabetes, and a Democrat president will have the chance to restore "balance".

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

The beauty of this is that after he is confirmed RBG will be up for replacement as well. And the kicker? A woman will be nominated for that spot and all of the regressive leftist hate tactics will go bye-bye and this candidate will need to be judged on her merits alone. For a decade the court will be controlled by conservatives.

And just at the right time to control the more lunatic elements of the far left which seem to be increasing in their lunacy on a daily basis while I suspect the more moderate liberals of old are increasingly put off.

Can the Democrats come back to something approaching a sensible center?

Glad that Judge Kav was officially exonerated (as if there was any doubt). He will make an excellent SC Justice.

Now, an investigation of Dr. boozy Fraud needs to be opened. Prosecutor Mitchell did an outstanding job of luring her into several perjury traps during the Senate committee hearing.

Now, an investigation of Dr. boozy Fraud needs to be opened.

Indeed, she hasn't suffered nearly enough. Hopefully, a long jail sentence will suffice.

Prosecutor Mitchell did an outstanding job of luring her into several perjury traps during the Senate committee hearing.

Good. Let it be a warning to so-called "victims" that they will face interrogation and villification for coming forward.

As long as my team wins, who cares about these whiny women with their fantasies. Man up, women!

America, be proud of yourselves.

The point is not what he did when he was a teenager. The point is that he tries to deny it, and the way he tries to defend himself. Should a judge lose his cool? Kavanaugh does not appear to be cool and calm.

Find someone else, someone above reproach, above even suspicion.

Republicans should expect Democrats to oppose their recommendation. It is, after all, a case of Democrats behaving like Republicans.

Perhaps a real FBI investigation is needed. Could they do a proper investigation in just a few days?

0 ( +3 / -3 )

"The point is not what he did when he was a teenager. The point is that he tries to deny it"

Duh! If you didn't do something someone accused you of you'd deny it, no?

"Should a judge lose his cool? Kavanaugh does not appear to be cool and calm."

Yeah, I wanna see how cool and calm you'd be if people accused you of what Kavanaugh's been accused of! Kavanaugh's not an android, he has feelings like any human being.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Won't somebody think of the man's feelings? What he's been through, what he's endured at the hands of this monster... enough is enough.

And so what if he showed a bit of partisanship - this was clearly a cold dish of revenge orchestrated by the Clintons.

And what if he did fib a bit under oath - he's a devout Christian, for heaven's sake!

The anger is perfectly understandable - men have to let off steam a bit. We need emotional people on the SC, shows that they're human.

Now buy that man a beer and remember, from now on - put out and shut up.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

And this is what the Republican party has become - ladies; we want to grab your _____, if you complain we'll insult and ridicule you, we'll overturn Roe vs Wade and we'll control your bodies, not you, female healthcare - forget it. We're the party of Trump, Roy Moore, Rob Porter, and Bob Packwood...

Last census females composed 50.2% of the US population. They'll speak loudly in all future elections...

This picture clearly shows how far Left the pendulum has swung in America. No pretense of fairness. It’s akin to the Black Lives Matter group. They intentionally do not seek to appeal to common interests and morality but seek to be reactionary towards the extreme Left. Make no mistake, the current divisions in America are driven by the Left whose politics is based on identity and divisive tactics meant to spread fear.

Make no mistake, the current divisions in America are driven by the Left whose politics is based on identity and divisive tactics meant to spread fear.

I think its been brewing a long time. The tea party movement on the conservative side was also part of it in my view. Then you have social media in the internet really launching the division into a whole new level that I don't think has really been fully comprehended yet.

Um, anything Hannity said in that report that's not true? No?

How would we know? The FBI wasn't allowed to talk to certain people like Mark Judge.

The Democrats own personal psychotic issues aside,

I fixed it for you.

Kavanaugh's Senate opponents did not do that

Yes, they did or was he yelling at some imaginary Coconut?

Kavanaugh's life hasn't been ruined.

Yes, it has, his reputation has been totally destroyed, thanks to the Democrats, he won’t be allowed to teach at the University next year. Not only that, the false stigma and the

lies that these idiots told on him will always hang on his shoulders, I just hope when he’s on the bench, he will look at these idiot Democrats and remember what they did. Revenge is served best cold.

Despite a pisspoor performance under questioning in front of the Committee,

Understandably so given the circumstances as any man would. Ask Clarence Thomas.

which was both unhinged and mendacious, he's about 98% certain to be granted a position for life.

Great and I hope and pray the Democrats will forever feel miserable.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

"Um, anything Hannity said in that report that's not true? No?

"How would we know? The FBI wasn't allowed to talk to certain people like Mark Judge."

That's a "no" then. Mark Judge has already stated he doesn't know anything about a sexual assault by Kavanaugh and that such an act would be contrary to Kavanaugh's character. And, yes, the FBI has interviewed him, it's all over the media.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Me Too movement is going too far. If the women are more superior than men and then that's okay, but don't make all men villains and all women as victims. Judge Kavanaugh was cleared by the FBI. What's more they want to do to this innocent man and his family?

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Are Dems human when they say Trump should croak

I don’t recall anyone bringing that up. Nice deflection, though.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Well said Chop Chop. The campaign against Kavanaugh descended to absolute gutter levels. Sad.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

"How would we know? The FBI wasn't allowed to talk to certain people like Mark Judge."

That’s false. I read the FBI summary report and it states that they interviewed Mark Judge this week.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

How sad that many anti Kavanaugh campaigners descended to the gutter of the following attitudes

1: Racist anti white

2: Misandrist anti men

3: Guilty until proven innocent

Such attitudes have no place in a fair society nor on this forum.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

So you insist that it happened. Just to be clear, these are your allegations:

That they attacked his family.

That they mocked his family.

That they threatened his spouse.

Yes.

And this is your reaction:

That Kavanaugh would have been justified in strangling people putting unwelcome questions to him at the hearing.

metaphorically speaking, yes

That you would actually strangle someone who questioned you in the same manner.

If I were attacked as viciously and my integrity, honor, family were lied to, smeared, ostracized, ridiculed, and trying their best to find anything to derail my nomination for political purposes only, yeah, I would have.

So considering the extremity of your reaction, I invite you, without deflecting the question or throwing in false equivalence, to simply support your allegations, which I maintain are untrue, with a post that provides three things:

The name of someone present at the hearing who did this (it needn't have happened at the hearing itself: a press conference, media interview, or print article would do).

The Democrats or more specifically someone in Diane Feinstein's office and this would not be the first time that she would be accused of doing something loathsome.

What they actually said - without interpretation, modification, or distortion. What we call a direct quotation.

A linked source, so that the rest of us can check and verify that you have quoted it correctly.

Rich, we all know if it's not a far left liberal source, you would completely discount it, so coming from the people that have zero evidence of Kavanaugh committing any crime whatsoever and even with a completed FBI investigation the left are still moaning and will probably continue to moan and now the FBI might open up an ethics probe on Feinstein and probably some of Ford's friends. There you go. I really want to see that final FBI report.

That's all I'm asking, not inviting a flood of other verbiage. Keeps it simple and clear, and we can see if you're able to back up a claim that I questioned and you insisted is true.

As I always do.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Not only that, the false stigma and the lies that these idiots told on him will always hang on his shoulders

Bit like the Central Park 5, Trump called for the death penalty - even taking out an ad. Served years in prison, then were proved innocent of the crime.

Odd, that.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

If I were attacked as viciously and my integrity, honor, family were lied to, smeared, ostracized, ridiculed, and trying their best to find anything to derail my nomination for political purposes only, yeah, I would have.

And if one of your loved ones was subjected to sexual assault, would you believe them?

If they went public and were subjected to death threats - how would you feel?

Silvafan - FBI Says It Lacks White House Approval to Talk to Kavanaugh and Ford

According to your linked article -

The FBI hasn’t interviewed Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh or Christine Blasey Ford because it doesn’t have clear authority from the White House to do so, according to two people with knowledge of the matter.

And

.....The FBI declined to comment on the investigation or its timing.

And

.....FBI Director Christopher Wray is documenting what’s happening behind the scenes in order to help ensure the bureau’s activities in the politically charged investigation are captured and perhaps made public one day, the person said.

Since the FBI has declined to comment about the investigation, I wonder just who the articles authors Chris Strohm and Shannon Pettypiece received their insider "information" from? Ford's lawyers? Feinstein and Durbin talking points? Chuck and Amy Schumer?

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

wipeout - You've simply repeated, for the second time, the original absolutely unsupported claim, which you accompanied with an opinion that physical violence would be justified.

Christine Blasey Ford's claims are unsupported. She can't remember where, when, or how many people were involved. Her husband is supposed to have signed some statement that proves he wasn't there, but knows that his wife must be telling the whole truth because she's his wife. Not exactly solid evidence, is it.

Innocent until proven guilty is still the law of the land.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

but knows that his wife must be telling the whole truth because she's his wife.

For victims of rape - the act itself nearly obliterates everything else. Some of the finer details can indeed become peripheral.

So there's that initial trauma and then the trauma of reliving it over and over and then the trauma of coming forward and being villified. She knew she would be - and yet she still spoke.

An extraordinarily brave individual.

Be interesting, for the sake of parity, to hear from more women on this whole subject.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Toasted Heretic:

And if one of your loved ones was subjected to sexual assault, would you believe them?

Most, if not all, women who allege they are victims of sexual assault have loved ones who would of course tend to sympathize with them. But this does not mean the allegation is true. I have a loved one that has made totally false accusations of abuse.

Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Okay, so reading your verbiage-laden post, and despite a request that you stick to the point, you haven't been able to provide 1)a quote

I don't need to, but apparently the Feds want to talk to Feinstein, that's huge and telling.

2) the person who said it or 3) when, where, or how they said it. Triple fail.

Kavanaugh will be confirmed, Ford has zero credibility and zero evidence to bring and even after the FBI 7th background check nothing. Fail, funny, but try again, please.

You haven't demonstrated any of the three things in your allegation: that these Democrats 1) attacked Kavanaugh's family 2) threatened his spouse 3) mocked members of his family.

I did and and as a man who wanted to clear his name and who wanted to speak and tell the truth and who is a judge that knows the law, better than all those idiot senators and unlike Ford that did not want to be outed and did not want to testify and then had nothing to back up, we once again see the lies and deception that the left are capable of and even though they tried their best to smear, tear down delegitimize the man, he never wavered or through in the towel.

You've simply repeated,

Yes, because I've been doing this for 25 years and I know the left and the cheesy games they always play.

for the second time, the original absolutely unsupported claim,

If that were true, Kavanaugh wouldn't be where is about to be and that's on the SC. Lol

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Yes, because I've been doing this for 25 years and I know the left and the cheesy games they always play.

This is not evidence to corroborate your assertions.

If that were true, Kavanaugh wouldn't be where is about to be and that's on the SC. Lol

This is also not evidence to corroborate your claim.

Funny how the right scream about the need for corroborating evidence in one breath, and refuse to provide any for their assertions in the next.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

It tells us nothing. I asked for what it was that was said either directly to Kavanaugh in the hearing, or in some other public way,

And you heard Kavanaugh's blistering statement, there you go and for the record, you can find it on Youtube as well for reference.

Absolutely irrelevant.

No, it's very relevant, by the way, how are the Dems holding up as they see their last activist days come to a close?

Your claim was that those Democrats in the room went after Kavanaugh's family.

Yes and it worked for the Democrats, he won't be couching his daughters Basketball team or was it Soccer, can't recall, but one of them and his contract with the University won't be renewed, add to that the hate mail and threats his wife and parents got, the Dems did one thing and that is ruin the man, but in the end, once he is confirmed, he may ultimately get the last laugh. so the left should be careful. Sorry, but you lost once again. The left need to come up with a better fail proof scheme next time around.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

wipeout - Christine Blasey Ford was willing to testify to the Senate Judiciary Committee under oath, and did so on live television. Other accusers have also stated their willingness to be questioned under oath, and to speak to the FBI.

Blasey-Ford's testimony simply wasn't convincing to anyone other than party line Democrats. She couldn't seem to remember what actually happened. Of course, the Democrats were willing to trash talk any Republican nominee. This time is just happened to be Kavanaugh.

Blasey-Ford made 36 year old accusations, and her own chosen witnesses denied knowing what she was talking about.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

FBI obliged means corrupt, how these senate fellows and why USSC did not question How Ms Dr Ford was assaulted? without that information how can any confirm Kavanaugh i wonder, he agreed some might have if so why he did not locate that person, without that his claim to court is nothing but absurdity only in my view, sorry.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Balakrishnan Gurumurti - FBI obliged means corrupt, how these senate fellows and why USSC did not question How Ms Dr Ford was assaulted? without that information how can any confirm Kavanaugh i wonder, he agreed some might have if so why he did not locate that person, without that his claim to court is nothing but absurdity only in my view, sorry.

Blasey-Ford made the anonymous accusation. It's up to Blasey-Ford to provide some facts, or evidence, of what happened. None of Blasey-Ford's own chosen witnesses would confirm her claim. They didn't know what she was talking about. Without that information, Blasey-Ford's story was only compelling, but not convincing.

Either Blasey-Ford, or the Democrats she trusted to keep her claim unanimous, could have asked for an investigation to verify Blasey-Ford's accusations. Since it appears that Democrats were only using Blasey-Ford to further delay Kavanaugh's confirmation, there would have been no reason for Democrats to actually confirm Blasey-Ford's sketchy story.

p.s. The USSC does not conduct it's own investigations for confirming candidates.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

wipeout - Is this a difficult concept for you? Regardless of the truth (or untruth) of what you're saying there, you made that point (addressed to me) to justify bass4funk making an unsupported claim.

It simply isn't relevant to the fact that bass4funk concocted a story about the Democrats that Kavanaugh had to face at the hearing, supposedly both mocking his family and threatening his spouse.

Anyone who watched the hearingS saw elected Democrats regularly attacking Kavanaugh. These same elected Democrats told media outlets that Kavanaugh was a serial-rapist. Not even the forgetful Blasey-Ford made that absurd claim.

Media outlets have claimed that Blasey-Ford and Kavanaugh, and his family, have received death-threats, and other harassing messages, from boneheads with internet access.

The bottom line is that Republicans had 50 votes to confirm a Republican Supreme Court nominee the day that Kavanaugh's name was announced. Due to the Democrat's predetermined decision to deny any Republican nominee, regardless of his/her qualifications, it took longer to finally confirm Kavanaugh. The only question now is which sitting Supreme Court Justice will retire next.
