Democratic attempts at "ridiculous partisan investigations" could damage U.S. prosperity.

Out of touch with reality.

If 'partisan investigations' are a problem, why weren't they a problem with hilarymailbenghazigate - 93 Republican investigations of which none found any fault with Hillary.

Then combine that with the number of guilty pleas that the Mueller investigation, which is profitable by the way, due to the forfeitures by Manafort, has elicited.

The president is complaining that the investigations into illegal actions by members of his inner circle are impeding US prosperity. Well then you should have actually drained the swamp, instead of creating a new one Bonespurs.

Once again the right creates a problem, then whines about the solution, while not taking any responsibility for the problem.

What an embarrassment. Another third-rate Las Vegas lounge act. He sounds like one of the tin-horn dictators from Africa, except they speak better english...

Fortunately we won't have to be treated to this reality show spectacle much longer - this will be his last one - Mueller and the NY District Attorney are tightening the noose....

18 ( +29 / -11 )

When Trump loses, America wins.

Mueller's noose is tightening around trump's neck.

17 ( +30 / -13 )

That was a nauseating word salad of mutually conflicting policies with a garnish of clearly self-serving rhetorical bowing to the greatness of America that his policies undercut. So many points of hypocrisy it's difficult to list.

One thing is clear: Trump is panicked. His multiple pleas for bipartisanship all add up to a request that Congress not investigate him.

He introduced no new policies. He showed no conciliation. He muffed this. He will not get his wall, but he will be investigated.

16 ( +25 / -9 )

U.S. President Donald Trump vowed in his State of the Union speech on Tuesday to build a border wall that is a source of a deep partisan divide and said Democratic attempts at "ridiculous partisan investigations" could damage U.S. prosperity.

Biggest laugh of the night - Donnie is in more legal jeopardy than Alex Trebek...

In the past, most of the people in this room voted for a wall, but the proper wall never got built. I will get it built,"

You had two years and both Houses of Congress - would have been simple for you to ask Mitch and Paul for a funding bill for your wall - but you didn't do it - why? Not that important then, huh?

Trump spoke in the chamber of the House of Representatives facing political discord over his demands that Democrats end their opposition to funding for a border wall he says is needed to stem illegal immigration and smuggled drugs.

You know, illegal immigration, as in all the illegal immigrants I employ at Mar-A-Lago and my golf courses...

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/02/01/us/trump-workers-fired.html

As his economic advisers work to complete a trade deal with China, Trump said any agreement "must include real, structural change to end unfair trade practices, reduce our chronic trade deficit, and protect American jobs."

And must allow me to continue to use low cost Chinese labor to make my Trump ties...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8Ddq-rA040

A walking definition of hypocrisy....

14 ( +17 / -3 )

or ridiculous partisan investigations,

Why is Trump so afraid of being investigated? What's he trying to hide?

All he needs to do is release his most current tax info.

Trump also called attention to his efforts to rewrite trade deals with China and other nations

That's worked for Ivanka. http://fortune.com/2019/01/21/ivanka-trump-china-trademarks/

declaring the Islamic State militant group all but defeated.

Only the most benighted of Trump's hardest core true believers actually accepts this.

13 ( +22 / -9 )

Excellent speech! Should make him even more popular.

I'd be amazed if it did.

12 ( +15 / -3 )

It really doesn't matter what trump says at this point. He's SHOWN through ACTIONS over the past 2+ years what his administration is about.

ALL of his words are hollow, because they have always changed and wavered, depending on his audience and what he believes they want to hear at the time. Stacey Abrams needs to lead with this point. That because of his NUMEROUS changes in position, policy, miscommunications and misinformation, nothing he says can be trusted. The damage to his own trustworthiness, done by his own hands, puts the majority of the country in a position of being unable to reach out and come together over his policies, because no body really knows what his core policies are. This fissure in the political constituency can not be repaired within the coming 2 years, what took more than 2 years to tear apart.

12 ( +14 / -2 )

One of his first announcements was pleading for the investigations into him and his family to stop...lool

He said the barriers we already have built have almost completely stopped illegal immigration.

And praised himself as the keeper of peace between the US and NK...lol

@serrano

You must not have watched it, or muted it. The dems weren't cheering for Trump, they were cheering for their own accomplishments.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

The tragedy that is Trump continues to roll down the dusty road.

8 ( +13 / -5 )

If you're serious about reaching a bipartisan consensus on the wall you don't insult the other side in front of the nation/world.

Shows it's all about Trump, he couldn't care less about us safety & interests. The bloke will never understand that there are times when you need to bite your tongue ( in biz, politics etc).

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Trump reassured us that he is not a Statesman by not allowing the Speaker of the House to introduce him, if you had any question as to whether trump was a Buffoon or not, he clarified that question as well. This demonstrated that this was not about State of the Union but the Mistake of the Union.

BlacklabelToday  03:47 pm JST

Solid speech. Wall is getting built.

Good luck, 10 days till he shuts the government down again.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Why would an innocent person be scared of or deny an investigation from going forward? Because he's NOT innocent. He and his family will be found guilty of various crimes, and he knows it. The walls are closing on his kids, and hence the platform he desperately wanted for his vanity project and to threaten others, as always.

Meanwhile, Trump voters this week have gotten a rude awakening with tax returns that were the worst they've ever had.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Keeping America safe, strengthen the economy and try to discreetly stop the flow of illegal immigration, yeah, so selfish and bad for the country.

Well he's failed at all of those...opened our border to terrorists during the shutdown and we all know about those illegal Trump employees...

No one expects the haters to trust him, this was in the speech for the haters or from the unpersuadables.

You know, like the over 50% of the country that refuses to vote for him next time...

They do know, now if the msm would talk more about them, the haters would know and maybe not hate him so much....

Yea Ann Coulter - lay off the hate (and ridicule...)

Not with the clowns that the Democrats put up, I think even Nancy agrees by her standing ovations.

It's not polite to laugh while seated...

Especially love the part when the president said no to socialism, make me jump out of my seat as well! Kudos Mr. President.

I jumped out of my seat several times, and rolled around the floor laughing...

A powerful and moving speech. Thank you President Trump for putting America first.

You mean Russia...

Did everyone see Nancy chew them dentures down to nubs?

Nope, saw Pence musing; "I'll be giving this speech next year"....

When Trump loses, America wins.

Nah, Crazy, you got that back asswards. When Trump wins America wins. He wins more than he loses, that's why we're doing better as a country these days.

For the past two years the only one that has been winning is Putin...

Mueller's noose is tightening around trump's neck.

How long have we been hearing that? lol

And you'll be hearing it louder from "The Lunatic" as he get's squeezed further...wonder what's in those documents subpeoned from the Inaguration Committee?

7 ( +10 / -3 )

State of the Union:

There is a government in the United states. For now...

That's about it.

6 ( +12 / -6 )

The speech was ancient news sprinkled with anything Trump's team could dig up on illegal immigrants in the US. Even the right wing media was falling asleep watching it with comments like "still waiting for new information" and "Will he say anything he hasn't already?". If you still can't see how much he values himself over the country after that, I don't know what to tell you...

6 ( +8 / -2 )

CrazyJoe,even those within his own party agree. In the SOTUA two years ago, he called for $1 trillion in infrastructure spending; last year, $1.5 trillion. He declined to state an amount this year, but you know he'll immediately jump on the bandwagon of GOPers excoriating any Repub who votes to increase the gasoline tax to fund it (and this after his massive tax cut for the wealthy).

Nobody. Trusts. Trump.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

It was a typical Trump speech, weak on facts and full of exaggeration and outright lies.

The hilarious part was when he was trying to tout the number of women in congress as an achievement, whereas a large number of them defeated sitting GOP candidates to get there.

Also funny is him bringing up the investigations into him and his family. There was a definite fear in his words.

His hardline base doesnt seem to be happy with his speech , Coulter called it the 'lamest, sappiest most intentionally tear jerking SOU ever'.

Boy that must have hurt.

6 ( +10 / -4 )

Solid speech. Wall is getting built.

Sure it is. Never mind all the lawsuits that will need to be concluded before the wallgoes anywhere.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

@otherworldly: Wait until the middle class start filing their US income taxes and realize that not only are they not getting any of the benefits, but are paying more before claiming that his popularity will rise.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

I don’t care for polls too much, but judging by the liberal media polls, he did very well, this must pain the Democrats.

Winning!

Not sure which "liberal media polls" you are looking at...lol

They all rank him at second place for lowest approval of any president. He's almost in first place for that bid...bet he's there soon if he continues doing what he does. Winning soon!

5 ( +7 / -2 )

More like "Whining!" Trump maneuvers so quickly and often between self-praise and self-pity it gives a listener whiplash.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

How long have we been hearing that? lol

Well, apparently its getting too tight...as Trump begged for an end to investigations into him and his family tonight. I guess its coming down to the end.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

Trump voters this week have gotten a rude awakening with tax returns that were the worst they've ever had.

Unless you're making big bucks, which the majority of Americans are NOT. Next year will be even worse too.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

liberal attack: insult a persons name or appearance, dont discuss anything that was said and why you disagree, state your opinion about something as fact, then run away pleased with yourself. "Look Mommy, I #resisted!!"

Its not very effective.

You do realize that you are doing exactly what you say liberals are doing, or did you forget to think about that before your pressed post?

5 ( +7 / -2 )

According to designs it released in September , CBP intends to build 25 miles (40 kilometers) of concrete walls to the height of the existing flood-control levee in Hidalgo County next to the Rio Grande, the river that forms the U.S.-Mexico border in Texas. On top of the concrete walls, CBP will install 18-foot (5.5-meter) steel posts and clear a 150-foot (45-meter) enforcement zone in front.

Wall is getting built.

You are right, and you are also wrong. Its not a secret that congress approved 1.6 billion for repairs and new "barriers". But also the link you posted, and then copied and pasted afterwards, states that they intend to build 25 miles of concrete walls (that are to serve a purpose of strengthening the levee on the Rio Grande, not to prevent foreigners coming in. It also says that an 18 foot fence will be built in front of that. Not a wall, not a border wall, a fence in front of the levee.

If you read further into the article, which you clearly didn't, it says "*Many landowners oppose a border wall and have vowed to fight the U.S. government if it tries to seize their property through eminent domain. Court fights over condemning land could take weeks if not months."*

It goes on to talk about how endangered animal reservations would need to be destroyed or shrunk in order to build the wall, as well as plans for legal action to be taken if the wall is tried to be built. Thanks for the interesting article that proves your point wrong!

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Give us money to build a wall! The wall is already being built! Give us money to build a wall. Socialism is bad because it takes away people’s money! Give us money to build a wall!

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Who is being less than honest? He has a solid 40-48% support. The same or better as when he won.

when he won office 45.5% approval 41.3% disapprove,

Feb 2019 ratings are very different now. avergae of all major polls show Trump at 40% , disapprove 55% +/- 4 %

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/trump-approval-ratings/

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Which is not that bad considering the witch hunt and everything else the Dems and Mueller throw at the President and to be around 40-43% (depending on what poll you believe in) is not that bad at all.

thats why they have averages, best case Trump sits at 44% to 51%, worst case 37% to 59%, either way you look at it it worse than when he started, and I wouldn't feel as confident come 2020.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

I'm not a Trump fan, but he is right about this. If he gets the US out of the middle east at least something good will have come out of his presidency.

Everything else though, yeah, was garbage.

He's already beginning to back out of that too. I'll believe it when I see it. Seems like his withdraw of troops from the middle east might be a catalyst of the growing requirement in Venezuela. Which wouldn't be an endless war, but has the potential to be a much more violent one...

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Excellent speech! Should make him even more popular. Well done!

Just to correct your language, @otherworldly, but as Trump is one of the least popular presidents in history and increasingly isolated within his own party, to say "even more popular" is incorrect - he is not popular to start with.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Then why did we have the Trump Shutdown that endangered our security and caused financial pain to so many families?

If it was so important to cause Donnie to shutdown the gov't (longest ever), why wasn't it started two years ago?

@Blacklabel

A single Gallup poll? Trump supporters have been dissing Gallup for their findings.

They had Trump’s approval rating at 37% at the end of January.

What do you think?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Like the majority of people all over the world, I look forward to the time when this man is nothing but a bad memory.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

His base will feel like they are winning after that, but did you see the comments from GOP senate members? They are pretty golden, Trump's got a lot of worrying to do coming up soon.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Bass: No answer about to whom that 70% tax hike would apply? You probably think it applies to everyone.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Especially love the part when the president said no to socialism, make me jump out of my seat as well!

Who in their right mind jumps out of their seat when a politician says something entirely predicable in a speech?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

The issue of whether a fetus feels pain has been raised frequently in recent years by abortion opponents pushing for more restrictions in state legislatures. Medical opinion on the issue is not conclusive.

Wow, that's pretty interesting actually.

So, is there a serious belief by some people that a "fetus" feels no pain until some point after it has left the womb (as a "baby")? If so do those people believe that it would be OK to abort a "fetus" that had just been born too?

That's just unbelievable to me.

I don't think anyone wants to abort babies, but the suggestion that it's OK at late-term because the "fetus" might not feel pain while in the womb, just strikes me as completely ridiculous.

Thankfully I don't get a vote in American politics!

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Funny how Trump crowed over falling drug prices. The fact is that those have been falling since the moment Obama's ACA went int effect, and the overall cost of healthcare had plateaued - until Trump and his cohorts began to undermine it.

Single payer in one form or another is coming. The ACA is now too popular for the Repubs to touch, and single payer will in a decade or so be the same. Conservatives, get used to it.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

40 percent have no opinion yet but Kamala Harris already 31 percent unfavorable. She is well on her way to 50-60% herself. Hillary lost with 52 percent unfavorable

Which poll is this?

Sorry to labour the point, but Trump supporters do tend to play fast and loose with poll findings here when they are not saying polls are inaccurate.

It’s quite entertaining to read.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Sorry to labour the point, but Trump supporters do tend to play fast and loose with poll findings here when they are not saying polls are inaccurate.

It’s ok, Jim. The msm and Democrats are always skewing the news, polls, the truth, so it’s not easy muddling through what is real and what is fiction.

Could you post a link to your claim that the average of the polls has Trump in the high forties?

Cheers.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

40 percent have no opinion yet but Kamala Harris already 31 percent unfavorable

Thanks for the link but why you would link to something proving what I said about cherry picking is a little strange .

Thanks anyway.

What is it with Trump supporters and polls? I know his numbers stink but it isn’t an excuse to be less than honest.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

I’m not cherry picking anything

You cherry picked the poll showing the unfavourabilty rating of Kamala Harris at 31%. The average of the polls on the link you posted isn’t as high as that.

You chose a Gallup poll to back up a point. You evidently trust it. I asked if you trust the Gallup poll that has Trump’s approval rating at 37% at the end of January this year.

It’s a reasonable question.

Gallup is your poll

I don’t have any poll. I’m skeptical of accepting the results of any single poll even if it backs up a point I want to make.

Can we just be honest about the numbers?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

@bass--unbelievable that you give credence to "liberal media polls" in the first place. How do you know the nefarious liberal media is not just juicing his poll numbers to make him look even worse later? For example, if his approval rating goes down 6% it's more embarrassing than a minimal looking 2%. Getting him set up for a steep drop closer to election time?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Solid speech. Wall is getting built.

Amazing these Trumpers - they all believe in imaginary things - muslims cheering in NY during 9/11, Trump's inauguration crowd bigger than Obama's, and now a wall that ain't there...

Too bad Donnie isn't imaginary....though he is certainly like everyone's worst nightmare...

2 ( +5 / -3 )

How would you know that? You know something we don’t? Personal feelings don’t count.

Liberals know a lot that conservatives don't. Ypud do well to take your own advice about personal feelings not counting given how often you post blatantly false information because you feel it's correct.

Hey! The Democrats will get a rude awakening when they release they won’t get that 70% tax hike.

How about a little test: To whom would the 70% tax hike apply?

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Trump didnt say one word about the $ 2 trillion debt he has added with his tax cuts.

He probably thinks he can declare bankruptcy and get out of it.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Wealthy politicians and donors push for open borders while living their lives behind walls and gates and guards." The expression on Nancy's face - lol!

Yeah, it was pretty hilarious. See, no one advocates "open borders." (Please provide a single quote to prove me wrong.) And where Pelosi is from, walls are rare. I know this as my father lives near the late Steve Jobs' house. Here's a photo. Do you see a wall? There is a wooden fence, waist-high, to delineate the boundary. One might be sure, though, that if that boundary were crossed, response would be immediate. And the open visuals of expanse between the sidewalk and house increases security; a wall creates hiding places. (The ground was covered by a flower garden when Jobs lived there, but it seems to have gone to seed.)

Trump has accomplished very little except for continuing Obama’s economic expansion (https://goo.gl/images/W3Uakt).

No replacement to the Paris accords, no Middle East plan, North Korea expanding their nuclear capabilities, no dent in the trade deficit with China, more illegals coming in, massive deficit spending, etc.

He will come and go and any of his smaller executive policies will be reversed. Without any signature wins he will mostly be remember for being a massive waste of time and a reaffirmation of the GOP’s racist undertones.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

"Now is the time for Congress to show the world that America is committed to ending illegal immigration, and putting the ruthless coyotes, cartels, drug dealers and human traffickers out of business,"

Can you believe this clown said this - all the while employing illegal immigrants at Mar-A-Lago and his Trump golf courses?

Donnie - you're an illegal trafficker - using cheap illegal labor and stiffing hard working blue collar Americans out of jobs.

What a disgrace and embarrassment. When will the Trumpers open their eyes and see what a con man this guy is - laughing at them while he and Melania get their mansion at Mar-A-Lago cleaned by illegal immigrant housekeepers.

Trump called illegal immigration "an urgent national crisis". "Now is the time for Congress to show the world that America is committed to ending illegal immigration, and putting the ruthless coyotes, cartels, drug dealers and human traffickers out of business,"

If he wants to put illegal traffickers out of business, why is he hiring and employing illegal immigrants at Mar-A-Lago and his golf courses?

From China to Venezuela to Afghanistan, Trump devoted a large section of his speech to foreign policy, saying a trade deal was possible with China if Beijing agrees to "real structural change."

If Trump thinks China engages in unfair trade, why are his Trump-branded clothing items (shirts, ties) made in China, and not in America by American garment workers?

Why?

2 ( +5 / -3 )

His numbers “stink” less now than then and his main challenger has just as bad or worse. So why wouldn’t he win again?

I’m not cherry picking anything. Gallup is “your poll” that said 61% unfavorable for Trump in 2016. So how did he win?

Who is being less than honest? He has a solid 40-48% support. The same or better as when he won.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

What is it with Trump supporters and polls? I know his numbers stink but it isn’t an excuse to be less than honest.

We can be honest the Democrat candidates are all not smelling exactly rosie.

That’s an opinion you can defend.

On the subject of honesty, can you please post a link to the average of the polls showing Trump in the high forties?

Cheers.

there is No way on God’s green earth would you ever be able to take guns away, if Democrats even attempted that, we would have 1861 all over again

so Dems declare an emergency and Republican threat violence. nobody said anything about banning all guns just semi and fully auto weapon, only allowing single shot revolvers and rifles. Australia did just this and they haven had a massacre in over 20yrs.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Not to mention, 'fully auto weapons' are already illegal to own for regular gun owners. Being educated about existing gun laws should be a requirement for anyone who wants to discuss gun control.

just because theyre banned in one state doesnt mean they illegal in another, there are still millions of semi / fully auto weapons , high capacity clips, owned legally by average Americans, until those weapons are reduced substantially the slaughter will continue. The state of the (dis)Union is -- CHAOTIC DECLINE!

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Its just a difference of opinion of the poll numbers. I think Obama finished with a 60% approval rating, which Dems were happy with. Trump is in the low 40s and his base is happy with that.

Different expectations is all.

Sorry Ron, fully automatic firearms are actually controlled by FEDERAL LAW. So those regulations are pretty much across all states.

This is why I highly suggest that anyone who wants to discuss gun control should actually understand the laws which they are criticizing. Sadly, most anti-gun proponents do not have a firm grasp on any of them.

"Great nations do not fight endless wars," said Trump, whose withdrawal plans are opposed by many congressional Republicans.

I'm not a Trump fan, but he is right about this. If he gets the US out of the middle east at least something good will have come out of his presidency.

Everything else though, yeah, was garbage.

want the biggest government apparatus to implement their socialist agenda.

Trump intends to implement federal maternity leave pay for mothers. This is about as socialist as it gets. He intends to turn the country into that socialist Marxist-Leninist hell that you bleat about so often.

I'd be amazed if it did.

It did!!

ridiculous partisan investigations

Trump idea of investigation is reading the National Enquirer and clicking on racist websites.

He really does seem to be squirming over these investigations.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Trump's approval as president in his third year is the second lowest on record, with 56% of Americans saying they will not vote for him in 2020. With such a background, perhaps his speech approval rating (and take any survey conducted so rapidly with a huge chunk of salt) is akin to the "special boy" award: "Oh, look, he ran a lap without falling over!"

0 ( +3 / -3 )

"Wealthy politicians and donors push for open borders while living their lives behind walls and gates and guards."

I like it too because no politician is for open borders and walks around personal residences are obviously the equivalent of a wall on a border.

Trunp is very good st feeding his low intelligence base with nonsense they can understand. How I miss articulate presidents.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

61 percent said he was unfavorable in 2016. Yet here is President Trump. Once it is clear who the other choice is, the numbers change.

Please post a link to that poll. I’m not saying it doesn’t exist, but there has been a lot of cherry picking of polls, mixing and matching of different poll results, and just outright dodgy numbers without links from some Trump supporters recently.

Soneone posted that the average of the polls has Trump’s approval rating in the high forties the other day.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Yes I wasn’t aware that “at any time” excludes some undetermined time at the end.

I also didn’t know that a fence built in front of a wall means the wall is also a fence only.

Also didn’t know that people unhappy that a wall is being built negates that it is actually under construction as we speak.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

40 percent have no opinion yet but Kamala Harris already 31 percent unfavorable. She is well on her way to 50-60% herself. Hillary lost with 52 percent unfavorable. Oops.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

I can show you a poll that has 70 percent unfavorable for Trump. He still won. So I’m unconcerned that 56% supposedly say they won’t vote for him when it isn’t even known who is running against him yet.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Plus 76% of people approved of his speech.

uh oh and good night.

When it comes to the upholding the 2nd amendment, I have no doubt whatsoever. The Democrats would really be the stupidest party on the planet were they to do a thing like that.

Why don’t you care about American lives? The gun problem in America is an emergency to save lives. It’s an emergency for the nation. A national emergency.

A wal for gun control seems like a decent trade off.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Why is your team pushing a socialist agenda so hard while claiming you are anti-socialist?

The same reason they are all over the place on almost everything: lack of a coherent strategy due to incompetent leadership.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Like I said, that would never happen. By the way and simple question, did prohibition stop the sales and consumption of alcohol?

A criminal is a criminal. After gun control, anyone with guns should promptly be thrown in jail for at least 5 years.

sorry there have been a couple in the last 20yrs, if you look at that same link youll also see that homicides by firearms per 1million people Australia stands at 1.4 one of the lowest in any 1st world country, USA stands at 29.7, so basically your 21 times more likely to me murdered by a gun in the USA than in Australia. I wonder why that is!? maybe its because Americans are far more violent society or maybe they have far worse mental health issues, or maybe just maybe there are just too may weapons available that shouldnt be

There's not going to be another Dem POTUS for a long time. Maybe never again.

Because we don't beleive in Democracy and the US Constitution - we want our Dear Leader to be President forever - just like Russia, China and North Korea...

Stacey Abrams' rebuttal was like bringing a water pistol to the shootout at the OK Corral.

It reminded me of a petulant two year old being scolded by his mother; just like happended with Nancy and Ann...little "Donnie" beng put in his place...

OK Trumpers, help us poor Liberals understand the greatness of your Dear Leader;

"In the past, most of the people in this room voted for a wall, but the proper wall never got built. I will get it built,"

*Trump had two years to fund and build a wall - and he didn't - ***why?

Trump called illegal immigration "an urgent national crisis". "Now is the time for Congress to show the world that America is committed to ending illegal immigration, and putting the ruthless coyotes, cartels, drug dealers and human traffickers out of business,"

*If he wants to put illegal traffickers out of business, **why** is he hiring and employing illegal immigrants at Mar-A-Lago and his golf courses?*

From China to Venezuela to Afghanistan, Trump devoted a large section of his speech to foreign policy, saying a trade deal was possible with China if Beijing agrees to "real structural change."

*If Trump thinks China engages in unfair trade, **why** are his Trump-branded clothing items (shirts, ties) made in China, and not in America by American garment workers?*

Why?

Trumpers, why the silence? Can't defend your Dear Leader?

Nothing but silence.....what's the matter Trumpers, couple easy questions have you stumped? Or should I say Trumped?

Almost 24 hours and numerous re-posts - and silence. Trumpers - why no answers? Why aren't you defending your President? Is it maybe because you can't?

Three easy questions - ball's in your court...

Well, I guess we'll have to call this a "clear fail" on the part of the Trumpers here - nothing but silence for over 36 hours. And what would Donald think of you not defending him...but then there is no defesne is there - he's a lying, cheating, illegal immigrant employing fraud....

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Well.., as usual, Trump says as it is and not holding back.

The bright side was that he did explain the rationale and the reasoning and the results and causes behind all of the topics that he covered and the decisions he made and will be making. That is more than just "opinion" or "wishful thoughts" and idealized rhetoric. One can address each of his points, for or against and even offer specific alternatives.

Agree with him or not.., he made logical and rational sense, pragmatically and practically approaching "governance" as the President within the directives and mandates of his position and within the limits set forth by the US Constitution.

He did not offend other countries as much, as it was the "state" of the US and not foreign countries, but then there are multiple nations definitely "threatening" the US from economically to militarily that he had to address and inform the nation.

Regardless of which side you may be on, he set the tone for the next two years.

Looking at the recent polls more and more people seem open to it.

Just declare a national emergency. We will trade the wall for increased power of the executive branch that can be used in the future by Dems for healthcare and gun control. That's about it.

Here is the kicker, even in that case it would never work for the Democrats, even in a national emergency, there is No way on God’s green earth would you ever be able to take guns away, if Democrats even attempted that, we would have 1861 all over again

Funny how Trump crowed over falling drug prices. The fact is that those have been falling since the moment Obama's ACA went int effect,

And thanks to trump for getting rid of that dreaded mandate, so they helped a lot.

Single payer in one form or another is coming.

I doubt that very much, that is if the Democrats want the country to turn into another Cuba then yes, but they would have the fight of their lives, even Bloomberg and the man who invented the $5 coffee disagree with that Marxist tenant.

The ACA is now too popular for the Repubs to touch, and single payer will in a decade or so be the same. Conservatives, get used to it.

For the poor people it’s popular but considering that over close to 80% of Americans still use private insurance it’s going to take a lot more than the socialist to eradicate it, not to mention, Single pair would completely destroy the US economy in every billionaire knows that Republican and even Democrat. But I personally want the socialist to go as crazy as they possibly can, it makes it easier for Trump to slide right back into a second term.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

Post the quotes.

https://noqreport.com/2019/01/28/ny-isnt-first-wont-last-embrace-late-term-abortion/

last week that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) had signed the Reproductive Health Act eliminating restrictions on late-term abortion.

And the Dems celebrate it by lighting up the Empire State building, but want the VA. governor who painted a Blackface on himself and tried to moonwalk has to resign because what he did was allegedly racist, but the acting Lieutenant governor is being investigated on sexual assault charges, but his accuser is not being believed, but Kavanaugh, we have to believe the allegations even if they were debunked. Democrats will flock only and only to the people that can help their political cause, and if they don’t they throw them to the wolves. These people are all over the place.

Because it's your go-to deflection to avoid answering questions that demonstrate you're incorrect.

No, I answer them, but you guys just don’t like the answers because they don’t appease the liberal mind

Because the walls we built WORK.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

What is it with Trump supporters and polls? I know his numbers stink but it isn’t an excuse to be less than honest.

We can be honest the Democrat candidates are all not smelling exactly rosie.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

No wall for you. You dont have the leverage or the popular support.

Good possibility the leverage will be masses hounding Pelosi & Dems, including Dem constituent Fed employees, if there were to be another shutdown next Sat.

If 76% approved of his speech, you can rest assured a good portion agree with his stance on border security and illegal immigration.

No more open borders for you!

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

The Pelosi shutdown will commence next Sat if she doesn't get her act together.

Trying to label it Pelosi’s shutdown isn’t going to change the fact that it will be trump who will enact the shutdown, and therefore the people will clearly see it’s his shutdown, and just like his last shutdown, they will blame him for his next shutdown.

But keep trying to redefine realty. See if that keeps trump in the White House come 2020 (or until, even).

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

But all the things liberals created to attack trump are boomeranging right back. Warren put “American Indian” on her bar application. VA Governor blackface and KKK, LT Governor #metoo, Attorney General did blackface. tulsi Gabbard “muh Russia”. Who will be left by 2020 at this rate?

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

It’s just a difference of opinion of the poll numbers. I think Obama finished with a 60% approval rating, which Dems were happy with.

Good for them, Democrats have always cared and wanted their Presidents to be rock stars, goes inline with Hollywood. Popularity over substance and policies. Yes, we had a sluggish economy, but he’s so cool. We get it, Super.

Trump is in the low 40s and his base is happy with that.

Different expectations is all.

@wtfjapan

nobody said anything about banning all guns just semi and fully auto weapon, only allowing single shot revolvers and rifles.

Come on, the whole 'we don't want to take all your guns away' line followed by 'well, except these' is why there will never be any compromise.

Not to mention, 'fully auto weapons' are already illegal to own for regular gun owners. Being educated about existing gun laws should be a requirement for anyone who wants to discuss gun control.

Australia did just this and they haven had a massacre in over 20yrs.

What was that?

There's not going to be another Dem POTUS for a long time. Maybe never again.

No matter how many times you call for it, the US is not going to be Russia. Or any of the other dictatorships that Trumpists tremble and fawn over.

Despite the attempt by Trump fan, Cesar Sayoc to remove high profile Democrats , the Dems are here to stay.

I'm not saying that it's healthy, having a two party system where both parties are only slightly dissimilar but hopefully a much needed injection of socialism (even if it is socialism lite) will bring about proper change.

In the meantime, the Russian asset needs to be investigated. If it was a Democrat who had engaged in such behaviour, there would be no hesistation, whatsoever.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Trump has told 8000 lies so far in his administration. What's another couple hundred or so in a way too long rambling disjointed slop job.

But it is so entertaining to watch the Trump supporters go over the cliff with the Loser President. None of them supported Trump when he first ran but once he demolished the other candidates in the primaries like sheep they lined up behind the orange one. Enjoy the fall, you know its coming and it will not be pretty. The Republican Party will disintegrate as a result.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

One year and eleven months, and the great orange embarrassment will be gone.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

To those who criticize Trump on North Korea - how well did Obama do during his eight years? Or Bush 2 before him? Let's not even get into Bill Clinton, lol.

There are too many awesome parts of this speech to list, but for example, when he said "Now is the time for Congress to show the world that America is committed to ending illegal immigration, and putting the ruthless coyotes, cartels, drug dealers and human traffickers out of business," and we see Kamala Harris shaking her head - LOL! If the Dems are dumb enough to nominate her, Trump will for sure play this clip over and over again. As if he needed any more ammunition against her, lol.

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

I like this one also:

"Wealthy politicians and donors push for open borders while living their lives behind walls and gates and guards." The expression on Nancy's face - lol!

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

Those who are saying "nay" to Trump do not understand why people elected him to president.

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

Trump has accomplished very little except for continuing Obama’s economic expansion

Sorry, wrong, very wrong again...

https://thenationalpulse.com/commentary/heres-why-obama-cant-take-credit-trump-economic-boom/

That’s not including the other 200 accomplishments Of the President.

No replacement to the Paris accords, no Middle East plan, North Korea expanding their nuclear capabilities, no dent in the trade deficit with China, more illegals coming in, massive deficit spending, etc.

No other President was able to sit down with the leader of North Korea, we are getting out of the Mideast, Climate change......anyway, we don’t have Russian jets buzzing by our aircraft carriers, we don’t have Russia trying to annex the Baltic States, seems like China is looking more promising to the delight of Nancy and Chuck, wow! For once they approve something this President is doing.

He will come and go and any of his smaller executive policies will be reversed.

And so will the Democrat president, if there ever is one....and judging by the way they’re going and acting at this rate that would be questionable, but even if it does happen and then they make an executive order that will get erased by another Republican president after that Dem socialist leaves office.

Without any signature wins he will mostly be remember for being a massive waste of time and a reaffirmation of the GOP’s racist undertones

Well, join the club, the Democrats won’t get any either.....where’s McConnell by the way?....

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

I watched the speech, and I thought it was good. There were a few exceptions. Saying what he did about investigations was wrong. But what else was there not to like? The unemployment rate for all hyphenated Americans is at a low, 58% of all new jobs last year were filled by women, more women in congress than ever, criminal justice reform, booming economy, restructuring trade deals so the US can get a fair shake. Yet the seething hatred for Trump allowed the dems to sit there and pout. Look at ocasio-Cortez and her screw face--even when all the other women are jumping for joy because there so many women in congress. She sat there, like many dems, looking pissed off the whole night. The dems are really a pathetic bunch. And they proved this with the democrats'response: from the beginning it was based on race and gender. People kept going on about how she was the first african American woman to give the response. So from the beginning, the response was marked by identity politics. Next, she painted sob story after sob story. She said nothing relative to the matter. Just because her father gave a homeless man a coat, the U.S. should have open borders--that was her logic. Trump's speech was positive, it spoke of Americans rising above political differences to find a sense of oneness. The dems, as always, responded with victimhood and identity politics. I have never been so happy I left the democratic party as I was while watching the dems' Childish pouting on the chamber, and their nauseating response.

Finally, someone that makes sense on JT

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

thats why they have averages, best case Trump sits at 44% to 51%, worst case 37% to 59%, either way you look at it it worse than when he started, and I wouldn't feel as confident come 2020

Not true, if he were in hot water, he would poll lower than congress. For the last 2 years he’s been hovering which is not that bad. And as bad as the Democrats are, they really don’t have anyone that can take on the President

Not even close to accurate. There are your emotions driving your arguments again.

So what were they celebrating in NY last week? The end of abortion? Uhhhh...No....

Largest expansion of the federal government happened under Bush II.

Obamacare was the second that blew the federal governments budget and still is with the outrageous premiums.

Another falsehood driven by emotion.

Well, AOC is not a capitalist and neither is Bernie...so that leaves one and only one possibility. Free for all, education, mediacare for all....income redistribution....Yeah, I call that socialism.

How would you know that? You know something we don’t? Personal feelings don’t count.

He and his family will be found guilty of various crimes, and he knows it. The walls are closing on his kids, and hence the platform he desperately wanted for his vanity project and to threaten others, as always.

Oh, sugar rush.

Meanwhile, Trump voters this week have gotten a rude awakening with tax returns that were the worst they've ever had.

Hey! The Democrats will get a rude awakening when they release they won’t get that 70% tax hike.

Give us money to build a wall! The wall is already being built! Give us money to build a wall. Socialism is bad because it takes away people’s money! Give us money to build a wall!

No need to be dazed and confused. President Trump signed the bill to fund the gov't through Feb 15th.

The Pelosi shutdown will commence next Sat if she doesn't get her act together.

And Socialism is indeed bad because... it is socialism.

Never!

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Feb 2019 ratings are very different now. avergae of all major polls show Trump at 40% , disapprove 55% +/- 4 %

Which is not that bad considering the witch hunt and everything else the Dems and Mueller throw at the President and to be around 40-43% (depending on what poll you believe in) is not that bad at all.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

It really doesn't matter what trump says at this point. He's SHOWN through ACTIONS over the past 2+ years what his administration is about.

Keeping America safe, strengthen the economy and try to discreetly stop the flow of illegal immigration, yeah, so selfish and bad for the country.

No one expects the haters to trust him, this was in the speech for the haters or from the unpersuadables.

The damage to his own trustworthiness, done by his own hands, puts the majority of the country in a position of being unable to reach out and come together over his policies, because no body really knows what his core policies are.

They do know, now if the msm would talk more about them, the haters would know and maybe not hate him so much....

This fissure in the political constituency can not be repaired within the coming 2 years, what took more than 2 years to tear apart.

Not with the clowns that the Democrats put up, I think even Nancy agrees by her standing ovations.

Especially love the part when the president said no to socialism, make me jump out of my seat as well! Kudos Mr. President.

It’s ok, Jim. The msm and Democrats are always skewing the news, polls, the truth, so it’s not easy muddling through what is real and what is fiction.

It’s quite entertaining to read.

I agree.

More like "Whining!" Trump maneuvers so quickly and often between self-praise and self-pity it gives a listener whiplash.

After listening to Abrahms misguided diatribe, I would call that unabashed whining.

unbelievable that you give credence to "liberal media polls" in the first place. How do you know the nefarious liberal media is not just juicing his poll numbers to make him look even worse later?

Because they’re not THAT honest, sneaky...but honest....naw.

For example, if his approval rating goes down 6% it's more embarrassing than a minimal looking 2%. Getting him set up for a steep drop closer to election time?

No, just wait and see what the Democrats will be running on....infanticide, raising taxes...again to over 70%...lovely., more income redistribution, hammer and sickle T-shirts, yeah, ice platform. Other than that, there’s nothing really that these people can run on.

When Trump loses, America wins.

Mueller's noose is tightening around trump's neck.

I don’t care for polls too much, but judging by the liberal media polls, he did very well, this must pain the Democrats.

Winning!

A powerful and moving speech. Thank you President Trump for putting America first.

Did everyone see Nancy chew them dentures down to nubs?

When Trump loses, America wins.

Nah, Crazy, you got that back asswards. When Trump wins America wins. He wins more than he loses, that's why we're doing better as a country these days.

Mueller's noose is tightening around trump's neck.

How long have we been hearing that? lol

Great night for Trump. Even AOC and her minions couldn't help but stand and cheer the good news that Trump had to share. Trump/Pence 2020!
