Why doesn’t the EU donate the millions of AZ vaccine it has in storage but will never administer to it’s own people, I’m sure those in India would be happy to have it.

China got the vaccines. Why don't both countries cooperate on this at least? Just one leader from any country can make a voice about it and tell these two countries to act/have humanity on this. This might be the chance to become good friends and that voice will make history.

Biden hit the nail on the head when he said just as India had stepped up when other countries needed help, now it was the turn of the other countries to help India back. The one voice of sanity in all of the mess in the world today.

The Indian government was also accused of down playing pandemic and hiding the true number. Looks very similar to the Abe/Suga administration.

After trump and Modi, Bolsonaro in Brazil is on the chopping block next. All those trump supporting leaders Modi, Bolsonaro, Putin, and Abe are all facing the music now with the next wave!

The situation is desperate and all help is needed, there will be time later to find the people that let this happen without the proper preparation and education of the people, but right now the focus should be in helping.

Actually Biden didn’t respond until AFTER blowback and anger in India as they had sent the USA large amounts of needed supplies when the US was in dire straits.

It is only a few weeks back that Modi was proclaiming that India has beaten the pandemic due to his administrations foresight and the 'pharmacy of the world' was ready to play a role in helping out all the countries. Talk is cheap and costs nothing. The virus turned out to be smarter than him, and now India is begging the entire world for help.

Even Pakistan and average Pakistanis - his governments boogeyman to win elections - are offering help. If he has any shame left he should apologize, resign and hand over the rest of his term to someone who maintains a low profile, talks less and does more. But for sure, once all this is over he will proclaim credit for defeating the pandemic, pass the buck to the opposition ruled states for mishandling the COVID response and go back to demonizing the minorities.

Why scaremongering if it is true data? everybody knows india have a huge population, but even so dying because of lack of oxygen or other basic necessities is a huge thing. It is not like the situation is controlled and expected to be contained soon.

By the way, overdose of oxygen (hyperoxy) cause cerebral embolism. Using oxygen unsupervised leads to additional death. Sorry to be pessemistic but I learn a lot when leaders care less.

Get your facts correct.. Modi was directly managing Wave1 of the pandemic..Once the cases/deaths went down to less than 10% he handed over to the states..this is where many states were found wanting and hence the additional medical supplies (primarily Oxygen) requirement for Wave2..States like Delhi (actually a UT) and Maharashtra never built the additional Oxygen plants for which they were give funds, this Oxygen requirement was known but not acted upon.

Indeed, the Indian daily covid deaths are lower than in the EU, and the cumulative per capita covid deaths are way lower. If anyone can help prevent these deaths, that is great, but we should keep everything in perspective. Anyway, there are easy, effective, and cheap ways to decrease the date rate, unfortunately these measures cannot be discussed here...

Looks like the Modi bhakt got triggered on being presented with facts. The standard answer of bhakts is to accuse Western media of a conspiracy to defame India.
