It's sending a message. Like when your President shuns countries, imposes tarriffs, expels diplomats and so on.

That’s a bad thing?

If countries can expel Russian diplomats, there's no reason why they can't boycott/expel Israeli goods/diplomats.

Sure they can.

It's solidarity in the case of Palestinians.

What about solidarity of the Israelis?

We could go back to the beginning of the creation of the Jewish state where Jews were brutalized and murdered, but we should give the brutal and violent treatment and attacks towards Israelis? Seems logical.

When the Israeli paramilitaries like Irgun etc committed acts of terror and assasinations agains the British?

Also seems logical...

Horrific. Yet another reason to shun Israel and boycott its goods if you can. Small measures but every bit helps.

Why?

The treatment of Palestinians by the government and IDF is unacceptable and sadly remarkably similar to the way Irish civil rights were trampled by the British govt and its army in the 70s.

I still believe in a two state solution but the perpetrators of the injustice and murder must be brought to justice.

I agree, so I think Hamas and Abbas should be thrown out, especially Hamas.

Israel does nothing thing but show self-restraint in defence.

Apart from using chemical weapons, stealing land, convening international law, apartheid.

“Live in misery “? Is that what you call the only first world nation in the Middle East ?

A first world nation that treats Palestinians as third class people.

If Palestinian "snipers" had killed 3, let alone 16 Israelis, there would be tanks rolling through Gaza and widespread killings of innocents.  They are a rouge and dangerous "country".  A "country" formed by terrorists 70 years ago.  People should read their history books before jumping to defend Israel.

As long as the Israelis are convinced that violence is the path to success, they will live in misery.

Even Gandhi realized that when faced with a regime that repeatedly slaughters non violent protesters, violence was a moral response.

From someone who defends Hezbollah and Hamas and their stated desire to destroy Israel, these latest histrionics can be taken with a grain of salt.

Sheer fantasy. Israel is a nuclear power with the 14th biggest military force in the world, and 100% supported by the number one military in the world. Hamas, has no military. It has rocks and tires. Simply amazing that the perpetrators of systematic genocide feel they are the victims. Just like the Germans did during WW2. Same sick mentality, just positions switched. And what is behind this, of course religion. Jews believe that for the second coming to occur they much exterminate the Palestinians in their lands. Many evangelical christians believe the same so that is why they support the genocide. Everyday infants are dying in Palestine due to the apartheid policies of Israel. Everyone knows this. Even in Israel. But too many there think it is the right thing to do.

The Jews are looking forward to his coming because they claim he will bring about God's kingdom on Earth, after the establishment of a Jewish nation in Palestine

My personal favourites are those who attempt to defend land stealing. It’s almost comical in its insincerity.

My favourite is when they defend it by saying it's their "Holy Land" given to them by god or something, and this doesn't just apply to Israelis or Jews either.

When the brutality and inhumanity of Apartheid South Africa was on display to the world, there were those who insisted that the issue people needed to talk about was the tactics of the ANC, and its 'stated goal' of genocide against Whites.

You villify, steal land from, murder, bomb, use chemical weapons on a people for generations. It's hardly surprising that they will rise up against you.

RIP to the victims.

Shame on Israel.

Israel has long ruled out any right of return, fearing an influx of Arabs that would wipe out its Jewish majority.

“wipe out its Jewish majority”?

Apt or poorly chosen words?

Germans killed us and now we have license to kill Palestinians, this is Israel philosophy. Sad world we live in.

It’s pretty hard for honest people to defend Israel’s conduct. My personal favourites are those who attempt to defend land stealing. It’s almost comical in its insincerity.

What’s your take on Hamas and their conduct and philosophy?

Better not answer that one out loud as you'll be branded an antiSemite.

The right sometimes like to throw that label around when they can’t defend Israel’s conduct. It’s pathetic. The left sometimes like to throw other labels around when they can’t defend the conduct of Hamas. It’s pathetic.

I don’t think anyone with half a brain takes either style of ‘debate’ seriously.

Its way past time for Hamas and Hezbollah to be squashed by Arab nations. it is way past time for Arab nations to actually lift a finger and take in Palestinians instead of letting them be used as human shields by those 2 terrorist organizations.

As long as their stated mission is to destroy Israel and her people, there can be no peace.

What do you call a regime that denies residency and voting rights to half its legal population to create the illusion that a minority ethnic group within the full population is the majority?

Better not answer that one out loud as you'll be told you don't know the meaning of that word.

What do you call people who think tank fire aimed at civilians is a reasonable response to someone throwing a rock at a fence that stands between them and their homes?

Better not answer that one out loud as you'll be branded an antiSemite.

What do you call people who carry out the orders to do that?

Better not answer that one out loud as you'll be branded as a Nazi.

But when is the world going to demand Israel end occupation? When is the world going to start sanctions against Israel? When is the world going to demand that Israel follow international law?

Won't happen because Israel is a 'democracy.'

Little of column A, little of column B. Prisoners of their own leaders and Israel.

Yep. It’s impossible to take any argument which doesn’t recognise this seriously.

Yes, Palestinians are prisoners. Prisoners of their own leader's violence and savagery.

Hamas has already announced daily violence leading up to Israel's independence day.

The Palestinians gladly martyr their own people to generate headlines like this. It’s in their culture.

Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump have a "right of return" to Israel based on the fanciful notion that they're directly related to people who occupied the land 2,000 years ago, but Palestinians whose parents or grandparents were expelled from their homes and had their property stolen by Zionist militias and fascist terror gangs like Irgun and Lehi in 1947/48 and who ended up in Gaza have no "right of return".

What does Trump have to do with Hamas terrorists? They've around long before Trump came on the scene.

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

Interesting headline. It omits the fact many of the dead are Hamas terrorists and the rest their human shields.

The only just solution to this conflict is a single bi-national state with equal rights for everybody, regardless of religion or ethnicity.
