Why does their navy only have 225,000 people?
In a nation with 1.3 billion people they probably have more metermaids.

It's OK, just brings them closer so the F-22 does not need to go looking for then when needed.

Rumor has it the name of the first carrier will be "Made in China."

Yet again the US makes hypocritical statements without realising how foolish it sounds. The US has attempted to 'police' the globe since around 1945 with it's own aircraft carriers, it's US Marines and Central Intelligence Agency, without the rest of the world requesting them to do so. And then they make a ridiculous statement voicing concerns over China's first ever aircraft carrier. Do us all a favour and please don't provide a medium for this political nonsense.

Northlondon, with the imbalance now we have peace. The "Made in China" should be countered by a Japanese "Maid in Japan".

There is one simple way to deal with this threat.....Remove article 9 from the Japanese Constitution. Then the Japanese can build some nice carriers also.
China has been stealing data from the United States for a bit too long. It is time that we help the Japanese build up their forces to end the new threat.....

Since when did the Chinese threaten the Japanese ? The Japanese have plenty of (US manned) aircraft carriers in the region. So why not the Chinese as well ?
JoeBigs
So your saying that the American carriers are really Japanese carriers? WTFO.......I could swear that they fly American ensigns and not Japanese.
Japan needs a few Carriers to end the Chinese threat. Time for Japan to arm itself.

Although your use of the term "threat" is correct in the sense that China will have new offensive capability, it is still an unfortunate term that some might find to be politically motivated.
You should simply be saying that Japan needs to match the Chinese, and leave the misconception that the Chinese are threatening Japan out of it. Japan's self defense build-up is quite adequate. And with Japan stationing the U.S. military, the number one most well funded military in the world, six times more than ANYBODY ELSE and known to get involved in random wars and invade random countries, if anyone has any business feeling threatened, I think it would have to be the Chinese.

The japanese already have a carrier, but in typical japanese subterfuge and hypocrisy its not called a carrier. As a global power China has the right and need to protect its sea lanes.

Everyone has concerns over China's first aircraft carrier. It's just that the media only chooses to print the concerns of the US. Why? Well ask yourself if you'd even bother to post on a thread about any other nation being concerned, except maybe Japan.

The rise of China will be the demise of US hegamony in Pacific. For Chinese, it was a common sense to defeat US power in asia to pave the way for a coming Chinese hegamony! TIt is essential to project military power all over every oceans from China to acquire the materials and supremacy to benefit her own. China always see US/Japan allaince is an enemy as usual. The Korean peninsula and Taiwan were potential conflicts between US and China so it was very important to get more ships to fight wars! For long time China wanted to sink US aircraft carrier as aprime goal for her navy in order to stop US military influences in asia, thats why china owned more than 60 submarines and she is making more nuclear subs as deterrant measures! Now China is getting out of defensive measure and acquireing offensive measures like teh aircraft carriers, that was a very good move as US was stuck in Iraq and afghanistan quagmire!

China shall never gives a mere care about what others'worring about her growing navy. For Chinese doctrine, strkie first was the best way of defense,it was true in Korean war,sino-indian war and sino-Viet war. This time is different maybe do it at sea!

A strong navy will boosting a strong nationalism and of course a strong nationalism will boosting a strong navy! This is China.

To a point I agree with you, that is why I believe that Japan needs to remove article 9 from their constitution. When they do this they can begin building larger ships than the DDSs or DDGs they are now building.
If Japan were to build a few LC's or maybe some CC's that would deter China from their super power want to be role. China may even realize that all Asia needs to unite and play ball together.
But China has this belief that they were once great and they should be now. But that was then this is now and the Mongols are not what they used to be.
Japan needs to arm up and then maybe the U.S. would let it protect itself. That would save a whole lot of Yen/Dollars for all.

Didn't the Chinese get their bottoms get handed to them in that one?
The path China is heading in is one of a paper tiger. China needs to first find what they are before they move out around the world.
This is not the times of the three kingdoms and the China of today is not run by those great men. China needs to find a real leader before it tries to run the world.
I always liked Ts'ao Ts'ao he had the brains......err sorry off topic....
