A thought, if Joe Biden stands down, he deserves a long overdue retirement, make of that as you will.
Californian Governor Gavin Newsom amongst others present the next generation that could offer an alterative.
Donald Trump if not incrassated in Devil's Island.
The Democrats are hell bent on sending Trump to "Rura Penthe?"
"Known throughout the galaxy as 'the alien's graveyard'."
Could well become the GOP Republican candidate
For heavens sake, settle this face to face at the ballot box.
Instead of beating each other senseless, at a devastating economic cost to the US people.
Set out your political stalls and let the people decide.
Trust the US constitution. and the will of the people

Look at this debacle of a republican party - they have completely been hijacked by the far right, who are not in any way interested in compromise or actual governing for the good of the people. They simply want more power, and screw the consequences. When you have members of the same party, calling each other "a b**th" as MTG and Lauren Boebert did (which was later broadcast btw), and Matt Gatz and Kevin McCarthy getting in each others faces and swearing at each other, you know something is seriously wrong.

GOP civil war, more to come.

Too bad. I love to hear that IRS employees especially are going without paychecks. Its never long enough for them to go hungry though.
Anyway, the majority of the American people no longer want their money spent on Ukraine and the American arms industry. But since America is NOT a democracy that doesn't matter. What matters is what the corporations want and can get away with, and that is all the Washington goons truly respond to.

Republican hardliners truly do not give a hoot about America or its people. With a leader like Trump it is no surprise to any educated person. Trump wants shoplifters shot, what about treason and attempts to destroy democracy? Shouldn't someone doing that be shot before any shoplifters?
Continuing to threaten the livelihoods of so many:-
I would say that nutrition aid to 7 million poor mothers was an essential service to keep open, but apparently not. It should not be threatened at all. This childish bickering must stop as the biggest casualty is American credibility, no matter which side is governing. This constantly and regularly shows the world that America's version of democracy is a bad joke at times. I love America and much of its culture but for goodness sake, pull it together people. This is embarrassing.

So the progressives and moderates love each other?

So McCarthy threw-in with Nancy, Schiff, and Chuck...and stiffed MTG, Gaetz, Gosar, and Boebert....
Yet our MAGA-warriors here on another thread give him their "applause" and "respect"....
So until today, the hated "Libs" were destroying America - now they give McCarthy a life-line and save him from further defeat and humiliation....
So "My Kevin" is really "Kevin the Lib", partner to Nancy and Chuck...
And instead of calling him a traitor, our MAGA-friends call him "a stand-up guy"...
Wonder what next issue they will cave on and join the Libs...and get more applause from MAGA-world...
ROFL...

MAGA got shutdown, Margery Traitor Green left the house in a hissy fit, it was glorious to see LOL

The "Freedom Caucus" are Trump pledged chaos agents whose goal is to make the federal government dysfunctional in the service of the God Emperor.

They take from the Tea party handbook and attack government by the Dems while utilizing federal loan forgiveness and government subsidies, as well as plenty of corporate welfare and tax cuts for the rich.
They are fiscal conservatives in name only.

Anyway, the majority of the American people no longer want their money spent on Ukraine and the American arms industry.
not even remotely correct, America hasnt even spent 5% of it military's spending on Ukraine,
what many cant understand is a strong Ukraine is beneficial for Amercia. surrendering Ukraine to Russia wont help Amercia or its allies one bit. Too many dont even remember the days of the USSR, 100s of Americans died during the cold war, Amercia was never closer to nuclear Armageddon than during those years

Defense budget $900 billion. Money and arms given to Ukraine $100 billion.
Mr Kipling
Arms destroyed by Russia....$90 million? But keep throwing good money after bad.
Peter Neil
Ukraine is just another business. Make money on the arms and replenishing supplies, then make money from rebuilding Ukraine from money given to Ukraine.
Blackrock and JPMorgan are set to "rebuild" Ukraine to the tune of up to $750 billion, with a "b."
And who does the money come from? Take a guess.
yipyip
Well, Obama and Biden should have thought of that when they let Russia march into Crimea and other parts of Ukraine.
Putin certainly got the message that these two US leaders were ambivalent about his motives. And now look what we get.
This is why not just the US, but the free world needs Trump back in office.

WTF? America?? There is an entire world out there buddy. The entire world would have, and will go down if any two of the major nuclear armed powers have a full nuclear exchange. Why is it you think only America is at risk?
Also the Doomsday Clock is NOW closer to midnight than its ever been....NOW! I can't tell if you are clueless or just lying on purpose.
Did you learn English from a Chimpanzee??? The percentage of spending is NOT any relation to what I said. I said the majority of the American people are against further spending on Ukraine.
No one said anything about surrender but you. Stable relations with Russia was great for Germany. It got cheap gas rather than the overpriced American gas the U.S. is now robbing them over.
America is bleeding itself dry just as much as Russia is. This is only good for the war profiteers. In fact, if American sends more money to Ukraine and arms dealers, it will need to borrow from China! This is not good for anybody but the Chinese!
The USSR collapsed in 1991. Move on. The Russian Federation is NOT remotely the USSR. The Cold War WAS over and could stay over except people like you miss it dearly. Peace has not been quite as profitable for your masters. Its been great for Putin though so why do you people always think its him missing the USSR? Oh yeah! To cover your own tracks, that's why!
bass4funk
Exactly.

That needs to stop.

This. The military vane is changing. American oligarchs fighting each other for American’s money.
Billionaires →Corporations →government
The better model is government →corporations → billionaires.

It will be more expensive when it comes to fighting Russia in Poland or the Baltic States.

Margery Green is an embarrassment for my current state. Ms. Green doesn't represent me, so I can't do much to vote her out. She's unfit for office of any sort mainly due to all her lies. Disagreements over policy are part of politics and to be expected, but our representatives shouldn't be blatant liars. Need proof? https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/21/politics/fact-check-marjorie-taylor-greene-twitter-election-capitol/index.html https://www.cnn.com/2023/03/01/politics/fact-check-marjorie-taylor-greene-fentanyl-kiessling-trump-biden/index.html https://www.newsweek.com/marjorie-taylor-greene-60-minutes-viral-fact-check-parkland-shooting-1792089 - this one is extra funny. She attempts to deflect and just looks stupid.
Gee, wonder how someone can claim that "the majority" wants anything or not? Sure, I'd rather that Russia leave all Ukrainian land so the rest of the world can spend money on productive stuff, not wars to prevent Russian aggression, but if Russia is in Ukraine, money and equipment are the things I'd like to send, not our soldiers.
I live in the real world, not some fantasy land.
Jimizo
She is a distillation of everything that’s wrong with partisan politics. This is someone who sympathizes with the ideas of Jewish space lasers, staged school shootings and stolen elections and yet the partisans will make excuses for it.
You have to debase and humiliate yourself to make excuses for this.
Ben P. Dosanko
No additional money for Ukraine. At least that’s good news.
JRO
That is the problem, Most people are uninformed and uneducated but they all got the same worth when the vote comes. If Ukraine gets taken over by Russia you will be spending an extra 200 billion a year in defense around those borders. You have the ideal opportunity to weaken Russia and save money for decades to come without having to waste your own peoples lives and the government knows it. Sadly though the problem with democracy and the election system is that the people in power need to get re elected and the need to focus on getting the votes from people that can only think one step ahead, and that's the people that think that stopping sending money/weapons to Ukraine will save them money.
kintsugi
If Putin invades Poland or the Baltic States the US will have to send troops to fight.
TaiwanIsNotChina
We have almost a million men ready to go. How many does Russia have after multiple faceplants trying to beat up small, second rate, poor Ukraine?
EFD
Democrats save the day again.
And there is no possibility that the Administration and the bipartisan Congressional majority is going to stop funding Ukraine against Russian aggression.
Sorry goobers, you lose.
lostrune2
Putin is interested in reviving the Soviet Union. He sees the breakup of the Soviet Union as Russia's biggest mistake
Like Russia's, which can't even beat up Ukraine, has to rely on Wagner Group mercenaries from prisons who are more competent than their own military, and even needs arms help from destitute North Korea (a country that commits cyber-crimes just to steal some money)
