Europe is full of Muslims and Pan Arab supporters, USA haters, so what is the big surprise here?? How many young, angry UK citizens of Pakistani decent does it take to blow you up on a bus in London?? Angry French citizens of North African ancestry to kill you on the streets of Paris??

I am having trouble believing this:

On Friday, Sweden announced it has raised its threat alert to the highest level ever because of an increased threat of terror attacks.

Sweden? What terrorist group could possibly be angry with Sweden? It's a neutral, pacifist country that has accepted hundreds of thousands of refugees and immigrants from the Mid East and North Africa.I don't get it. I am racking my brain here trying to figure out what Sweden did on the international stage that could make it a target of terrorists. Did IKEA do something "wrong"? I am often told America, which is supposedly hated by vast numbers of a certain religion we are reassured is nonetheless all about peace, needs to be more like Sweden, and yet it seems even Sweden has incurred the wrath of a group of terrorists who see it as no different from America. Officials can't, of course, say who populates this violently anti-Swedish group and movement because, well, that would just make them angrier or something.

Yeah, and you think they would be grateful for that, but these refugees, who make up 10% of Sweden's population, commit 50% of the rapes. So there's gratitude for you. All of European Europe is at risk from these people, terror threat or not.

One day it will be North Americans again going over to Europe to save them from themselves once again. Why can't Europe get anything right? Stop allowing these terrorists to live among you!! That would decrease the need for these "alerts".

Sweden is in Afghanistan to help out US and NATO. SO much for neutrality. American's foreign policy is creating headaches across the world. If they could chill a bit with their colonial war adventures, others would relax too.

MisterCreosote:

It is infidel country that has not yet submitted under Shariah. It is also guilty of having free speech, having allowed cartoonists to cartoon religious prophets. Isnt that alone enough?

"Sweden is in Afghanistan to help out US and NATO. SO much for neutrality."

Silly me. I forgot that the Left regard entities like the Taliban and Al Qaeda, whom Sweden's humanitarian contingent is 'fighting' in Afghanistan, as valid albeit borderless nations.

I sometimes find terrorists to be more polite than your average European.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Taliban does not have any intentions of controlling Sweden, US on the other hand wants to control Afghanistan. It's not going to work. But that is not probably the point either, US will be fine with bombing people and generating income for the weapon industry, have easier access to natural resources and control the pipeline they are happy but if they think that they will be respected for it, they are sadly mistaken. US will be one of the most despised countries in the world. And Americans too ignorant to understand the reasons.

Brilliant. With your line of thinking I could say Sweden bork bork accepts immigrants and refugees from the Mid East and N Africa, robbing Al Qaeda of the pleasure of killing those people, so bork bork Sweden has made itself a legitimate target of terrorist groups. Bork bork

neogreenjapan: American's foreign policy is creating headaches across the world.

Then how do you explain the Islamic terrorism that is occurring in countries that have nothing to do with America?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Mistercreosote and Bebert. I saw what you did there, with the slow pitch and hitting it right out of the park. Nice.

It is nice to see that everyone is keeping up the fear level. After a while it gets to be addictive, and I was thinking that a lot of people were starting to look like they needed a fix. Good to see that someone came through.

Let me see. Ground zero mosques, burning the Koran, cartoonists going into hiding, and now a travel advisory. What will it be next week? (Spins wheel) I predict something to do with terror web sites OR (Spins wheel) problems in Africa.

You kind of make our point for us.

Thanks.

Well you have to admit that's a pretty sweet plan. We have some nice weapons that are cool to watch and dominating others for their resources is a lot better than being dominated for our resources.

if they think that they will be respected for it, they are sadly mistaken

We don't necessarily need respect. Keeping foreigners frustrated, tied to their keyboards, and shakin' their lil fists is a pretty sweet bonus, tho.

Sweet dreams.... :)

That's, OK Superlib. How tall is WTC? If people were like Americans like yourself, people would think that would be funny. Maybe, time to grow up?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Whassup, American people!

What's it like being kept in a state of perpetual paranoia and fear by your government?

So 'intelligence' suggests al-Qaida threats. Sorry, we can't be more specific than that but stay away from crowded places and be vigilant! Look out for any swarthy, bearded men carrying a copy of the Koran and a rucksack.

The USA has just killed several Pakistani troops inside Pakistan. Coincidence?

"Sir, the public are starting to question our War of Terror."

"OK, Chuck, just raise the threat level to keep them on their toes"

You don't need to be a kid to really appreciate what a cruise missile can do to middle eastern architecture. Just like the movies! Expensive, too. I bet if we took all the money from war profits and stacked them on top of each other they would be higher than the Twin Towers were!

Are yooooooou gonna stop us? Huh? What could yooooooou possibly do about it?

The terrorists will be thwarted/defeated despite the lack of support among some people.

The alert is issued for Europe - where, let's face it - not too many Americans are going these days. I have to ask: what's it like to obsess about America 24/7 ?

I am racking my brain here trying to figure out what Sweden did on the international stage that could make it a target of terrorists.

I'd suggest you to follow international politics more. For instance the elections in Sweden. Just a hint.

It is more about Americans being paranoid. Could be because when they go around killing people in a foreign country and pride themselves doing so, if you read Superlib's comments, why do Americans get suprised by the idea that this might create resentment? But it is not Europe who warns Americans, but Americans themselves. Suits the paranoid nature of Americans.

Jeeze, what are you, Swedish or something? I went to a top 20 university in the US. I don't need lectures from foreigners about education, thank you. We have the universities that people such as yourself dream of getting into (but probably can't!!!!). And let's be real....at some point in their lives almost everyone on earth had the feeling that they wanted to be American. Americans don't have that problem. God chose us to lead and you to follow and be angry about it. Not my problemo, amigo. Get a therapist or start paying me for my time.

1.4 million Americans filed for personal bankruptcy in 2009, which represented a 32 percent increase over 2008. People living in the United States have been lied to so convincingly and thoroughly that they will defend their slave status with their last dying breathe. But they got something which others don't have. God. God bless America.

Terrorism is a tactic not an army, nation or landmass. You people need to realise that a war can't be fought against a tactic and resolving to fight until 'every last one of them is dead' = perpertual war.

Anyhoo, good luck with it.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Spelling. My bad. Should be 'perpetual' war.

Spider:

" Terrorism is a tactic not an army, nation or landmass. You people need to realise that a war can't be fought against a tactic and resolving to fight until 'every last one of them is dead' = perpertual war. "

Absolutely correct. That is why this "war on terror" is such a crock. The only way to deal with the jihad against modernity is to address the ideology behind it. But our governments are not doing that.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The only way to deal with the jihad against modernity is to address the ideology behind it.

What governments are you referring to? Saddam had a pretty secular ideology, Saudi, USA's main Arab allie the opposite. Hamas a democratic Islamist ideology boycotted by US while being democratic. Egypt a secular bribed non democratic president with a secular ideology. Iran an islamist democratic ideology.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Americans' habits is to demonize leaders that don’t work in the interest of the United States. They will be lied upon and their political position will be misrepresented and distorted. The other covert political agenda is to create false patriotism amongst its citizens. Leech on the insecure victims.

LOL! Quite a potpourri there. How do you come up with these labels? In the event, I was not referring to a "government", but to the ideology which drives the jihaad, i.e. political islam.

Fighting a "war on terror" is a crock, because as others have pointed out, terror is only a tactic.

neogeogreen: Could be because when they go around killing people in a foreign country and pride themselves doing so, if you read Superlib's comments, why do Americans get suprised by the idea that this might create resentment?

There's nothing wrong with having pride. You're just jealous. You're attacking Americans because of your own paranoia and insecurity. A plan was uncovered for possible Mumbai-sytle attacks in Europe so the government issued a alert saying Americans should be aware of that then they go to crowded places in Europe. The real problem is Europe. Their mistreatment of Muslims is causing Muslims to plan attacks like this, but Europeans are too arrogant to take a look at themselves and see what they have done. Since 9/11 there have been no attacks in the US but plenty in Europe. Europeans need to start understanding that they are the real cause of Islamic Jihad in the world. The US government is just warning our people about the possible consequences of getting involved with the mess that Europe has created. You'll notice there there is no warning for Americans in America, just the very small percentage who are traveling to Europe.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Some posters seem to be paranoid of America's paranoia. Well to each his own. His own. If you don't want to listen to the warning feel free not to. Yes I agree that we have seen terrorism in Europe but not because they are mistreating muslims aiming islamic wrath at themselves, but because they choose to bury their head in the neogreen sand.

personally I don't feel paranoid about American paranoia, neither do I agree with WilliB about the root cause of modern hatred for the USA that is felt around the world:

The only way to deal with the jihad against modernity is to address the ideology behind it.

Nothing to do with years of corrupt foreign policy and wars of aggression, then? It's all because they hate your freedom! How very simplistic and easy for the American people to understand. Are you people completely in denial?

This is why you are destined to fail. A vicious circle that you refuse to face up to.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Since 9/11 the vast majority of people killed by terrorists have been Africans, Muslims, and Europeans. Perhaps you can give us a history lesson about their failed foreign policies.

Superlib:

Are you joking? The Fort Hood massacre, the Times square bombing, all a fiction of our imatination? And moslems are certainly not "mistreated" in Europe, to the contrary the coddling has gone that far that today sharia councils operate in the UK, the meat sold in supermarkets to the normal (non-muslim) population is all "halal", toilets in prisons around the country are re-built to face away from mekkah, beds in NHS hospitals turned to mekka.... this just off the top of my head, I could go on for pages.

And does any of that appease the clerics? All they do is asking for more compliance.

Some "mistreatment"...

That's because you have a raging case of projection, which leaves little room for anything, rational thought included.

But, you go girl !
