Any moves we make against Iran will need the support of our allies, China, and Russia. I don't think the US has an administration that has the political ssvvy required to build and lead a coslition like that.

Iran Action Group! Awesome name. Now hope some action is behind the name. Like maybe a group that takes action against Iran?

Why does Iran get all this special attention?

What total BS, presumably the rest of the world is not asleep, and know the real reason for this continual attack on Iran, Israel dictates the US policy in the middle east. As for not wanting regime change, BS, the US don't really care bout Iran, only getting their hands on their oil, it's the Israelis who want a conflict. How hypocritical the governments of the US and Israel really are, quoting how Iran supports Hezbollah and Hamas and supporting Assad in Syria, so far I don't see any published evidence of their support, but America and Israel support anti government rebels and anti government parties in other countries and conflicts and they say thats ok. This US government led by the Marx brothers, Trump, Pompeo and Bolton or more realistically the three stooges are really a danger to world peace. These comments are only my opinion, I'm not anti America or Israel, I have just lost faith in all those who are elected to lead all over the world.

"For nearly 40 years the regime in Tehran has been responsible for a torrent of violence and destabilizing behavior against the United States, our allies, our partners and indeed the Iranian people themselves," said Pompeo."

You could make the exact same statement about Saudi Arabia, yet US politicians love the Saudis and despise the Iranians, even though it was Saudi Arabians who destroyed the world trade centre.

I'm quite fed up with the US's irrational obsession with Iran. If the US doesn't want to trade with Iran that's up to them. If they try to force their daft laws on others, e.g. by sanctioning EU companies that trade with Iran, then I think sanctions should be applied to US companies and banks that operate in the EU. It's time to stop the US telling other countries what they can and cannot do.

Amen to that

The US being as hypocritical as usual. The US needs to change its behavior too but it isn't going to happen with Chump in charge and pompous Pompeo as his little pit bull.

In other words, another PNAC-style entity created to destabilise and meddle with another nation.

I hope ordinary Iranians will resist this blatant attempt from Washington to dicate their future.

Trump unilaterally ended the nuclear deal with Iran, and now he wants to punish Iran, because, well, just because. Nothing says "I am a wise leader," like a thorough demonstration of idiocy.

high-level team to focus U.S. and international efforts to increase diplomatic and economic pressure on Iran.

A team of one is not a team.

Washington is stepping up its effort to get other countries to fall in line with economic pressure on Tehran,

Known as blackmailing the companies of other countries to stop traiding or suffer unjustified treatment in their dealings with the USA
