As soon as the mercury drops a bit more the missile and drone phase attacking dual purpose infrastructure will kick off - missiles like the cold weather and it's shaping up to be a big one that will take out anything that supports the militants and their tunnel networks that they store their arms and rockets in.

The winter campaign should be interesting in how pressure will be applied. For Russia the key will be to keep atritting the militants at the current pace or higher.

There are whispers of a ceasefire; this will not happen - Kyiv doesn't get to launch a counter offensive and then call for a Time Out. The Germans didn't get one after their counter offensive at Kursk failed; it's just not how it works.

There is not a single area in Russia where Ukrainian is spoken. There are areas where they speak a variety of languages, but not a single Ukrainian speaker!! Although the number of Ukrainians is the third after Russians and Tatars.In Crimea, however, the Ukrainian language has been left one of the three official languages. But I don't think it makes much sense. Crimea is not a Ukr-speaking area.

That's an interesting term considering Russia went far and wide for mercenaries going so far as to recruit very nervous Syrians to the cause.
