The misinformation and propaganda from Russia, NK, and China is pathetic!

5 ( +15 / -10 )

For almost a year now western media has been loaded with criticism and attack on Russian vaccine development and ignoring any positive facts, they accused Russians of stealing their science while in the end at least two of the major western vaccines are made based on Russian research. Right from the beginning Russians were only source that disclosed what how and why they were doing in their vaccine research. And even after the western medical authorities reluctantly admitted that Sputnik V not only is safe but it is also one of the two best vaccines western political apparatus is still attaching it. Now that Russians are simply reprinting the reports about some glitches with the western vaccine, reports they pick up from the western own medias Americans are calling it propaganda. But this is a good food for Russoaphobes

Never ever put any vaccine coming out from Russia into my body.

The only thing that I allow into my body from Russia is Vodka.

And even there I prefer the one from Poland.

6 ( +13 / -7 )

It is tempting to think that the participation of some posters here, plagued by easy to disprove false information, invalid reasoning and repeated personal attacks against anybody that talks positively about vaccines can be explained by this article. Nevertheless, I still think Hanlon's razor is applicable.

2 ( +9 / -7 )

When in doubt, blame russia.

Oh and China good!

Don't forget, Fauci had nothing to do with the Aids epidemic.

What is this a article for preschoolers?

No substance, no references, just we say so!

-2 ( +9 / -11 )

Russia is shady as all heck, but blaming everything on them is also crackpot CT territory.

-3 ( +5 / -8 )

Except for Trump republicans in the US. Those people eat up all information from Russia.

True. Barry Goldwater would be freaking out at the current state of the GoP.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Well this campaign is disinformation is absolutely not acceptable and dangerous, no doubt about that.

But hypocrisy is again in action here because a lot of officials in US and Europe have made fun of the Russian vaccine calling it basically BS and dangerously rushed when Putin announced that they were about to deploy it. So some people should really stop to play the victims now since that was also a form of "disinformation".

Never ever put any vaccine coming out from Russia into my body.

Do you have any scientific evidence to suggest as you seem to do that the Russian vaccine is bad? The answer is of course no since an independently conducted interim analysis of the phase 3 trial of the vaccine showed that it was in fact well tolerated and effective. 91·6% efficacy against COVID-19. @daito hak

I didn't say that the vaccine is bad.

I said that no vaccine coming out from Russia will come into my body.

Let me adjust one sentence,...because I don't trust Russia.

I don't know in which county you are living, but if the Sputnik is available in your country...go ahead and take it.

Good luck with that!

[Photo] A UN relief worker in the Gaza Strip on March 3, 2021 prepares a dose of Russia's Sputnik V vaccine, which US intelligence has accused Moscow of seeking to promote through disinformation against US alternatives

While the US complains about Russian linked twitter accounts, and their closest allies in Israel do everything to prevent Palestinians from being vaccinated, Russia is actually sending vaccines to Gaza. Actions speak louder than words.

@Monty

You are basically downplaying the Russian vaccine without any scientific competence to do that. Nobody cares about whether or not you trust Russia. Nobody. That's not the point. What's important is that whether or not we have another effective vaccine potentially more accessible to poor countries. Science says yes, regardless of what a random guy in internet thinks about Russia.

I live in Japan, the fact that you did not figure it out until now tells a lot. But thanks yes, I am absolutely fine to use the Russian vaccine as I am for the other ones.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

@daito hak

Whatever "business" you are doing with Russia, there is always something "suspicious".

And to proof that I don't need any scientific report or investigation studies.

Me and 99% of the world understand and know that from life experience!

But like I said, you are free to take the Sputnik V...

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

Pathetic, but usual behaviour from Russia.

No-one trusts Russians.

3 ( +8 / -5 )

"U.S. denounces Russian 'disinformation' over COVID vaccines"

Good.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

@daito hak

Sorry, maybe my english is not good.

By "you" I didn't mean you personally. The "people" in general.

But forget what I said, you don't understand.

Just follow your scientific paper and if Sputnik would become available here in Japan, take it.

Probably it is easy then to get it, because nobody here, excepts you, wants to take it.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Seems to be more widespread than written above. Also the EU is complaining those disinformation campaigning by the Russians, that is more on other topics and especially voluminous against Germany and France. I would count it all under ‘thanks for Navalny’ and stabilizing own positions that are under massive economic and corona pressure.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

I trust old school Russia (before Putin) much more than the CCP. And I only trust Putin's Russia only slightly more than the CCP. At least Russia doesn't expect everyone to be stupid enough to believe lies. The CCP on the other hand...

Sadly there have been quite a few Americans that were gullible and easily manipulated into believing in the Russian state backed misinformation campaign that we have seen even certain posters on this site completely eat up without question.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Let’s shortly think about it...If you are a Russian and directly situated in Russia you can probably trust their vaccines. why that? They surely very quickly got full hints or the whole recipe on vaccines from the Chinese, by simply reprogramming some missiles targeting on Beijing, if not. Putin just wouldn’t accept only some ‘heartfelt’ excuses from Xi for that friendly fire out of Wuhan. So that’s the best possible vaccine. But the vaccines exported to other countries, outside Russia? Difficult to say, again it may differ what country you are in. It’s surely a hazard game on which vaccine you can trust then. Pfizer/Moderna are both a new concept and a great invention, admitted, but do they really reflect all the gain-in-function alterations made in that infamous laboratories and without fully information support from China, if any? As for me....still undecided, but tending to Moderna or then the much more gamble, Sputnik.

Agree with Monty 100%

I personally won't take a Russian or Chinese vaccine.

However, we are all free to make our own choices.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

The global vaccine scramble is now a multi-billion dollar industry. It's not surprising that governments of the various vaccine producers are backing their local pharma champions and trash talking the competition. Just yesterday an official at the European Medicines Agency equated approval of Sputnik V with playing Russian roulette, despite the fact that various EU states have already approved its use. Propaganda is not a one-way street.

U.S. denounces Russian 'disinformation' over COVID vaccines

This American trick "blame Russians for everything on Earth we don't like" is becoming more and more pathetic. Let's see some examples of "Russian disinformation":

https://www.sott.net/article/447328-55-people-died-in-US-after-receiving-COVID-19-vaccines-Reporting-system

https://humansarefree.com/2021/02/one-third-of-deaths-after-covid-vaccines-occurred-within-48-hours-of-vaccination.html

https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/1384728/Covid-vaccine-latest-side-effects-Pfizer-jab-23-dead-Norway-coronavirus-update

Oops, it's not Russians!!! Never mind, keep consuming the usual propaganda fodder about Gremlins from the Kremlin.

Austrian media report that 41 people died after vaccination by Pfizer and BioNTech. In Japan a woman died several days ago from the anaphylactic shock after vaccination, I saw it in the newspapers. What, Russian propaganda again?

@Monty

Me and 99% of the world understand

@Fighto!

No-one trusts Russians

99 of the world? No one? Tell me about disinformation. So far the Sputnik was approved for use by about 40 countries, including Argentina, Egypt, Pakistan and EU members Hungary and Slovakia.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

I recommend Sputnik V at this time. The disinformation is a result of scientific research. Not only by Russia. Vaccines take 10 years to develop remember.

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

I don’t think the USA has anything to say either considering their last government and president weren’t exactly a bastion of truth telling .

0 ( +2 / -2 )

I think about 40 countries are now using the Russian vaccine, despite the massive disinformation campaign that was launched against it last year.

You should have tried harder, it could have been 39.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

I haven't read any disinformation on the Russian vaccine.

I just wouldn't take it because Putin. Which, no sane human on this person would take it willingly. Because Putin.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Vaccines take 10 years to develop remember.

Until you have all the vaccine makers in humanity focused on a single vaccine. Then, get this, due to increase resources, they can figure things out faster.

I know this is a baffling concept, that you could do more with more resources. Mind blowing I'm sure. But it's true!

0 ( +3 / -3 )

I recommend Sputnik V at this time. The disinformation is a result of scientific research. Not only by Russia. Vaccines take 10 years to develop remember.

How many years did the Sputnik V take to develop? A rough ballpark number rounded down to the nearest year is fine.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

I recommend Sputnik V at this time.

But, Putin!

3 ( +5 / -2 )

I just wouldn't take it because Putin. Which, no sane human on this person would take it willingly. Because Putin.

And so I should be glad I got the Pfizer vaccine, except ... because Trump. (It was made under his watch.) Oh dear.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

And so I should be glad I got the Pfizer vaccine, except ... because Trump. (It was made under his watch.) Oh dear.

Fortunately, Trump had literally nothing to do with the development of any of the vaccines, which also went through proper 3-stage trials.

Sorry, were you expecting me to take your ridiculous attempt at a false equivalency as making sense? But, Putin!

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Russia Russia Russia

Any proof?

now look who’s spreading conspiracy theories lol

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Proof would require transparency in the data. Remember, we’re talking Putin here.

Proof would be impossible to obtain, as no evidence could ever be trusted. Because Putin.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

look who’s spreading conspiracy theories lol

I haven’t spread any theories. I’ve pointed out the complete and utter stupidity of trusting a nation run by a dictator, and a drug that hasn’t even had 3-stage trials. I’m not saying that they’ve done anything bad, I’m pointing out the impossibility of trusting that they haven’t.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

An untested vaccine, offered to 3rd world countries that essentially volunteer to be test beds because they lack access to tested vaccines, and rejected by much of Russia's own population. What's not to like, Mr. putin?

Oh, he hasn't taken it either, you say? Maybe he is waiting for one of the 3 Western vaccines that have past phase 3 trials and have been clinically proven safe and effective?

3 ( +6 / -3 )

I think about 40 countries are now using the Russian vaccine, despite the massive disinformation campaign that was launched against it last year.

No, that was Russia's own doing - they were trying to put the cart in front of the horse. They were trying to shortcut the tried-and-true vaccine verification process just to score political points - but in doing so, created more skepticism among an already skeptic public, to the detriment of all vaccines. No wonder the Russian people are more skeptic about the Covid vaccines than other places - their government didn't help instill confidence by pulling such shenanigans, and the people were right to call them out on it

Now that the Sputnik V clinical results have been released on the peer-reviewed Lancet, I'm confident it's safe as the other vaccines. Dunno why the Russian government didn't just wait for that, instead of trying to short-circuit the process

0 ( +1 / -1 )

They are preparing the public for bad news vis-a-vis the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines. The plan is to say, "yes, there is this major problem but the news was leaked by Russian hackers so pay no attention to it." A lot of people will then blame the Russians for the problems with those vaccines.

If Japan doesn't import the Russian vaccine, I bet vaccine tourism flights to Russia will be organized from Japan as well. I don't have enough money for such a trip but I'll take my chances with the virus before I take the experimental Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or the quasi effective AstraZeneca chimpanzee adenovirus vaccine.
