U.S. envoy Kerry starts climate talks in China

Translation: Lets enrich the CCP by outsourcing production to China and buy lots of China produced rare earths. Plus some empty nice-sounding talking points and photo-ops for the media.

China, the world's biggest polluter, announced an ambitious target to be carbon-neutral by 2060, but analysts have warned high reliance on coal and modest short-term targets could scupper the ambition.

How naive that is. Wake up from your illusionary comatose. They simply don’t have there any of such ambitions, as that would even in the most modest form would contradict their schedules and intentions. But so it’s more and more easy for them to economically take over, as the whole stupid rest has these unrealistic and kindergarten-like ambitions and still thinks that they have them too. A clean Earth, a caring economy, living in peaceful symbiosis with animals and plants, CO2-free energy and climate....and much more of all such daily naive talking, that is really something you usually even cannot sell anymore to some of the most clever pre-schoolers. Even they would immediately put you eye-opening questions quickly. lol

Hmmmmm....... Did he go by private jet?

That's a terrible translation. You should stop using Newsmax Translate.

Hey John, just one tip - wear a Chinese-made Trump Collection tie - that will impress the Chinese and show them you too like their merchandise made with their best business partner...

That's what Trump did in China - or did people forget how lavish that was?

As the sun went down Wednesday on the vermilion walls and yellow tile roofs of Beijing's Forbidden City, the first families of the U.S. and China took in a Peking opera performance in the palace where China's emperors lived for nearly six centuries.

It was the start of what China's ambassador to the U.S. calls a "state visit plus" — a highly choreographed blend of stagecraft and statecraft, designed to highlight the evolving chemistry between Presidents Trump and Xi Jinping.

"China is receiving Trump almost the way the King of Saudi Arabia did," observes Shi Yinhong, an international relations expert at People's University in Beijing. China is "giving Trump lots of face, vanities and protocol."

This is John Kerry in his element undermining US national interests on the world stage. During the Trump administration he was negotiating with Iran against the US government. Now with the imprimatur of the Biden administrations America last policy Kerry is able to undermine his country in public from the comforts of the Communist Chinese mainland. Kerry has an intuitive ability to undermine his country since the days when he falsely claimed that his fellow swift boat soldiers we’re mercilessly slaughtering helpless women and children. Biden could not have picked a better person to fundamentally change America by undermining its institutions and reputation both domestically and internationally.

On this you are wrong. The CCP very much wants to find ways to clean up the Chinese environment as the severe pollution undermines party authority and their ability to maintain control of the country. When you have dead pigs floating down the river through your wealthiest city the party in control loses any moral authority it might have. The CCP is acutely sensitive to this.

Yes, it is the worst political characters now having a heyday, riding on the orangemanbad wave created by the dishonest media. Maybe we have to wait for peak insanity before this is over, alas.

American conservatives might be the only people on the planet who are in willful and complete denial of the deleterious effects of pollution on the world we all inhabit. One does not have to be too smart to realize the filth flowing down rivers or the thick brown smog over most of the world's big cities is doing harm to our world. Go out to sea for six months and when you return home to a big US port your eyes and throat burn for a couple of weeks after returning as your body readjusts to all the air pollution ashore. Fly over a big American city on a smoggy day and you need to file an instrument flight plan because the smog makes it impossible to see landmarks on the ground from as little as 6000 feet up. Visiting places abroad from a ship you notice how many places you smell, and how bad they smell, before land is in sight. And then there is all the trash in the water. When I was stationed out on Diego Garcia back in the mid 1980s we marveled at all the trash on the beaches of the many little islands that make up the Chagos Archepelago. Places that are and always have been uninhabited with beaches strewn with plastic and glass fishing net floats, flip flops (just millions of flip flops on every island), old nets, plastic kitchen ware, rusty cans, trash everywhere. But oh no, any effort to stop this and change how we manage our resources becomes a grand plot by "globalist elites" to strip us all of our freedoms. Good god people, open your eyes and understand what we are doing to the only place mankind has to live for the foreseeable future. I sometimes think the American baby boomer generation are the most self centered people on the planet.

I don’t think conservatives have a problem with focusing on cleaning up filthy rivers and smog from the air. That’s not the issue the Left is pushing. Kerry is flying around the globe in a private jet in the cognitively dissonant quest to completely eliminate CO2 emissions. That’s his sole focus. CO2 isn’t pollution. It doesn’t create filthy rivers. It is plant food - required for a green inhabitable planet. Without CO2 life on Earth as we know it could not exist.

You neglect to point out that man-made CO2 is warming the planet up so much as to be cause our current climate crisis. This crisis will have extreme adverse effects in the future, from sea-level rising to an extent that coastlines will need to be evacuated - to adverse weather effects.

As with all crises, it needs to be addressed urgently.

Without CO2 life on Earth as we know it could not exist.

But too much CO2, Earth becomes Venus - runaway greenhouse effect. Venus is the hottest planet in our solar system - even hotter than Mercury the closest planet to the sun, and hotter than the gas planets full of radiation

https://www.universetoday.com/22577/venus-greenhouse-effect/

You might be surprised to know that Venus is the hottest planet in the Solar System. With a global temperature of 735 Kelvin (462 degrees C), the surface of Venus is hot enough to melt lead. And if you could stand on the surface of Venus, you would experience atmospheric pressure 92 times greater than what you’re used to on Earth. Why is Venus so hot? The Venus greenhouse effect shows you what happens when this the process of trapping sunlight goes out of control into a runaway process.

As you probably know, carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas. Various wavelengths can pass through this invisible gas, but it’s very effective at trapping heat. Light from the Sun strikes the ground of Venus, and warms it up. The ground tries to radiate heat back into space but the carbon dioxide traps much of it around the planet keeping it so warm. This is the same thing that happens when you keep your car windows closed on a hot day.
