Can it be proven they have nukes? What are the sources for the proof if it exists?

Surely you jest. The alternative is extreme naivety.

perhaps all the seismic data. The radiological atmospheric data.

Perhaps you require proof that the Earth is round or that the Sun rises in the East?

It is welcome news that the US is willing to meet with North Korean officials without preconditions.

Trump tried and failed to resolve the issue. He did manage to get the threat reduced for a time but it will be whomever can make it permanent that will go down in history.

The first hurdle is to sign a peace treaty. This has been a goal of Nth Korea under Kim, but successive US governments have wanted it tied to disarmament.

One thing at a time needs to be achieved and peace would seem a necessary first goal. Once that has been made reality, then nobody is an enemy. Once nobody is an enemy, then talks on eliminating the need for nuclear weapons, and normalizing relations between all parties can be worked on.

Let us hope this US administration doesnt try to go for too much too soon and scare them off.

I mean, he didnt say my outreach, he said "our".

Who is "our" if its not Joseph R. Biden, who he speaks on behalf of?

"We continue to hope that the DPRK will respond positively to our outreach,

so Biden's envoy acts and speaks independently of Biden?

wow, he better do something about that!

again...."anywhere, anytime, without preconditions".

No, it’s great because it’s not the president capitulating to and appeasing Kim.

In other words he is scared.

You know, I don't remember too many missiles flying over Japan during the Trump presidency...

North Korea has fired a ballistic missile across Japan, creating new tension in the region after its nuclear bomb test less than two weeks ago.

The missile reached an altitude of about 770km (478 miles), travelling 3,700km before landing in the sea off Hokkaido, South Korea's military says.

It flew higher and further than one fired over Japan late last month.

Two isn’t many, but if we adjust to include missiles launched with the capability to fly over Japan, the number increases greatly.

None of these are primary sources. They are all based on opinion and innuendo.

Do you have any sources from North Korea government documents?

Anyone can say, This country has Nukes! This country doesn't! This country shot a missile!

Japan, for example, has its own agenda to make North Korea seem hostile. The BBC?? A little biased I would say.

What?! Exchanging love letters with Kim Jong Un and trying for photo ops? Trump just wanted to be able to say he was the first sitting POTUS to meet Kim. What a pathetic loser. How about some serious diplomacy instead?

Yeah, Biden really handled Putin, didn't he? What a comfort to have such a great Charlatan politician President in the Whitehouse. Happy days are here again!

Trump was a much much better President than what we have in the Whitehouse today. He was the first who had the b@lls to actually meet with the North. I think Biden would do the same, the only problem is Biden has zero negotiating skills and lacks any type of leadership skill. He is a true "lame duck President"

Except Trump didn’t do anything leaving his BF Kim with five nuclear weapons including a hydrogen bomb. Also during Trump's single term presidency, Kim has been able to develop and built intercontinental missiles capable of hitting the USA.

Do you have sources for these assertions? Where is the proof?

I thought that Trump strongly stated the NK/Kim problem had been solved.

He did, and it was, while Trump was in office.

Thanks for the reminder.

Yes, the US should definitely follow Trump’s initiative and provide photo ops and legitimacy to Kim. It worked soooo well that the DPRK still has nuclear weapons.
