This way our President made progress in Afghanistan

That's a bit rich from you @Matej - clearly some reminder of what your people did there is needed!

Moved OUT of Afghanistan does not have to mean moved TO America a week later.

“An estimated 100 Afghan refugees from Afghanistan to the United States have been flagged for potential ties to terrorist organizations, including the Taliban, according to a new report.”

Did you miss the memo about Britain and other NATO allies, fighting and dying in both Iraq and Afghanistan? You do a great disservice to all the families who lost a loved one.

The largest single land battle of the Afghan war was fought primarily by the Canadian Army in the south. One of my friends from US Navy flight school was Norway's first female military pilot, Siri Skare. She was by then a Colonel and she killed by a suicide bomber in Afghanistan while supporting a UN mission. Even neutral Sweden had an infantry battalion in Afghanistan under German command. Almost all the NATO nations had forces fighting in Afghanistan at some point.

gave the Taliban a smorgasbord of weaponry of the best hardware in the world and they also didn’t leave Americans behind.

Sigh. They left behind some Super Tucanos, some Cessna Grand Caravans (the big boxy single engine turboprop plane FedEx flies cargo in between small cities all night long) four C-130s and a mix of Russian and American helicopters, but the only attack helicopters are Mi-24s from Russia. The US left nothing high tech or interesting behind.

As well as Obama releasing the most radical Taliban terrorists in exchange for an AWOL soldier.

Very valid, releasing 5000 prisoners in exchange for nothing is the same as getting an American soldier released. You might learn something from the Israelis, they will release prisoners for even a dead body of a soldier. I guess some people respect soldiers, others don’t.

The C-17 taking off and the 13 dead marines will has left a searing tattoo on Biden’s legacy, he chose the outcome, it’s all on him and the rest of the country at least for the next 3 years has to deal with the results of that botched failure.

Very interesting, I guess the feelings of the families of the thousands of soldiers who came back safely from Afghanistan don’t mean anything.

Fully agree, the. American right chose a president who released 5000 taliban in return for a promise of a Nobel nomination.

And these 5000 then attacked American soldiers

As well as Obama releasing the most radical Taliban terrorists in exchange for an AWOL soldier. That this current President could have ratified as he was advised to do by his senior military staff and choose not to. The C-17 taking off and the 13 dead marines will has left a searing tattoo on Biden’s legacy, he chose the outcome, it’s all on him and the rest of the country at least for the next 3 years has to deal with the results of that botched failure.

Since the American right now supports taliban,

The American right didn’t choose a President that left Americans behind and gave the Taliban a smorgasbord of weaponry of the best hardware in the world and they also didn’t leave Americans behind.

The UK and EU need to do their part and take in refugees. The UK in particular was helped greatly by afghanis in various capacities. And goes without saying the US made the Continentband the UK safe. The US though is going to have to get its act together and properly vet these people. Another Biden bungle on the horizon.

not that kind of "marrying"- but Im sure you know this,

"U.S. Investigating Reports Girls Among Afghan Evacuees Forced to Marry Older Men to Escape"

One internal document seen by The Associated Press says the State Department has sought "urgent guidance" from other agencies after purported child brides were brought to Fort McCoy in Wisconsin. Another document, described to the AP by officials familiar with it, says Afghan girls at a transit site in Abu Dhabi have alleged they have been raped by older men they were forced to marry in order to escape Afghanistan.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

So then we should just leave them under the newly reformed politically woke Taliban’s watchful eyes? Ok….

That’s such a refreshing perspective.

Since the American right now supports taliban, I doubt they are ‘woke’ though.

An Aug. 27 situation report sent to all U.S. embassies and consulates abroad as well as military command centers in Florida points to potential issues involving young girls and older men, some of whom claim to have more than one wife...”

I find that outrageous, older men marrying younger women!!!!

It should be allowed only in special cases when these older men are American businessmen who are marrying younger women from Eastern European countries.

Also these older men should then become American Presidents.

Any other older man should never be allowed to marry younger women.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

I think it had to do with the fact that not too many women and children were employed as translators and interpreters in a war zone.

So then we should just leave them under the newly reformed politically woke Taliban’s watchful eyes? Ok….

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Also if so why are the bases hiring interpreters and translators to speak to the refugees who are.,,,.interpreters and translators??

That’s a very interesting perspective sir.

You mean to say that the American troops were fighting refugees and not the taliban for 20 years???

1 ( +3 / -2 )

That's a good start, now the US needs a couple more million of said people, who will not only work hard, but ACTUALLY make the country great again, unlike the fat, lazy morons who have laid the nation to waste and feel they are entitled to everything and also that the world is flat and cow medicine helps whatever ails them.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

employed as translators and interpreters in a war zone.

I keep hearing this. Interpreters and translators. We had 200-250,000 of those?

Also if so why are the bases hiring interpreters and translators to speak to the refugees who are.,,,.interpreters and translators??

more problems already: :

“....numerous incidents in which Afghan girls have been presented to authorities as the 'wives' of much older men. “

An Aug. 27 situation report sent to all U.S. embassies and consulates abroad as well as military command centers in Florida points to potential issues involving young girls and older men, some of whom claim to have more than one wife...”

Doesn't ths basically happen every week anyway? It will be interesting to see if the UK and EU step up and do their part, since the US did them a huge favor by fighting terrorism in Afghanistan.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

I’m more open to allowing women and children to come in over men given the circumstances in Afghanistan, but the sheer numbers of men being brought in is a bit worrisome.

I think it had to do with the fact that not too many women and children were employed as translators and interpreters in a war zone.

Though I am sure the US military will take note of comments from war heroes and start employing more children in war zones.

50,000? thats almost 25% of the new job creation numbers- that missed the target by “only” half a million jobs.

how will these new residents support themselves?

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Wakarimasen, the US government has no legal duty to get an American out of a jam,it obviously their loyalty it not with America, they would not be stuck in Afghanistan

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Let’s make sure we also get the Americans out who were left behind in the original evacuation.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

I await the first stories and pictures of the left behind US citizens and "allies" being abused or worse. Massive success of an operation. They say they took over 130000 people out of whom (let's say) 30,000 were American. Do we know what happens to the other 50,000 or so?

Mayorkas has already ruined immigration at the southern border. Seems like the perfect person to mess this up also.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

So if the Afghan interpreters who worked with the US military are left homeless in the US, what hope of a life in the US do the ordinary Afghan citizens have?

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

This administration has had an open doir policy from day 1.

Coming from a family of immigrants and married to an immigrant I find I would rather have a poor and poorly educated immigrant for a neighbor than some self righteous white bigot. The immigrants work harder, save more, are far less likely to break the law and appreciate America more than too many of its native sons and daughters. But that is just how I see it.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

No, that’s not what a I said. My post was extremely clear.

Mine was as well.

We’ll need a cite supporting your assertion that more men are being “brought in” than women. It seems far too early in the process for that information to be available.

Because if more women were brought in we would already have known about it because the Feds and the media would publicize and ask for assistance in finding and relocating women and children ASAP and they’re awfully quiet on that.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

The Afghans are good people. I've met many in California. All have suffered immensely. These refugees are escaping from extremism and won't be a problem as future extreme Muslim terrorists, believe me.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

These people are welcome, the fundamentalists aren’t. The US already has enough problems with homegrown religious extremism

All of them? So you’re saying every single one of these people, most not even vetted have the right to be in the US? The translators and interpreters, I definitely think so, but we are letting in more men than women, which is another thing no one is willing to talk about. I’m more open to allowing women and children to come in over men given the circumstances in Afghanistan, but the sheer numbers of men being brought in is a bit worrisome.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

There is always good and bad, hopefully these refugees will not end up being on the akbar train

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

We have a moral imperative to protect them, to support those who have supported this nation," said Mayorkas, who as a child came to the U.S. as a refugee from Cuba with his family.

Yes we do, these are people who have helped the troops, it’s time for America to help them.

The right wing will not be happy, but then these are the people who support the taliban.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Stephen “Goebbels” Miller will not be happy.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

Well we know what the topic will be tonight for Tucker Carlson.

Our commitment is an enduring one,” he told reporters. “This is not just a matter of the next several weeks

Let's make America great again.
