Um, refugees/asylum seekers are legal.

You actually posted an full-fledged avowed racist group to support your argument. Congratulations.

So why should it have been tolerated for the pilgrims? Because native americans didn't have a border police?
If you were, you wouldn't support right-wing policies that put americans on the streets.
A real country can take care of both.
That quote isn't from the bible. What are you talking about?
Jsapc
Again, you actually posted a link to a full-fledged avowed racist group to support your argument. Not much else to say.
Why is it that republicans love creating homeless people so much? They have grown exponentially under every republican president.
No, it isn't a quote from the bible. It's from Emma Lazarus' poem written on the statue of liberty. Why would you even try to say it is? And why wouldn't you actually know where that quote same from in the first place? It's engraved in America's soul.

Most of us Californians, and Ms Harris is a Californian, have been across that border hundreds of times. I've seen it from both sides more times than I can count. What's to see? It's just a big dog and pony show but what does it accomplish in terms of better policy? As a prosecutor she has years of hands on with the problems associated with border crime, gangs and poverty among immigrant populations in the US. To me that is more valuable experience than a big photo op at the border. Just my $0.02.

Legal immigrants and illegal immigrant have the exact same objective: find a better life for themseves. What separates you, a self-avowed asset to society, and a hondurian mother of two fleeing her home, is the dumb luck of being born in a country not torn apart by war and poverty. The only difference between you two are your circumstances. Painting asylum seekers as criminals and believing all illegal immigrants come to the country with nefarious intentions only proves a complete lack of empathy for fellow human beings. And as an american, you would do well to remember that the pilgrims who landed at Plymouth Rock were asylum seekers too. Some might say they were even the lowest form of illegal immigrants: criminal invaders. That's what the whole country was built on. "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free" does not include the line "...but only if they come legally".

I'd rather have one of these refugees for a neighbor than some bigoted white regardless of their income. Just me but in my experience immigrants regardless of their legal status work harder, save up more and are more family oriented than most born in the US whites. But the immigrant experience is close to our family right up to the current generation so perhaps I don't see it the way whites generations divorced from their own immigrant trials see it.

You misunderstand. We are ranting against ILLEGAL immigrants. BIIIIG difference.
JsapcToday 09:21 am JST
Doubtful. Highly.
I guarantee posters (in Japan) here are LEGAL immigrants in Japan. So, we are not spewing hate on ourselves.

Um, both comments were about immigrants in general. Not asylum seekers specifically.

One side of my family just showed up one day. Arrived at Ellis Island with no papers or anything. Just showed up. That's how it was done from the very beginning in the US. One grandparent and some of my cousins never spoke a word of English. In the immigrant communities one didn't need to. My family endured the same vile racism you and those like you spout. We know it well. Their religion was seen as a threat. They were thought to be disloyal, didn't fit in with white WASP ways. We made beer and wine all through prohibition and the local police chief sat at my grandfathers dinner table drinking his beer and wine. It was good! Despite the racism directed their way my dad went off to fight for the US as did all my uncles but one who was already too old and had a family. Many of their kids in my generation served too and went on to earn degrees and nice salaries. We all became Americans. Now the other side of my family is going through the same process. I get tired of seeing immigrants regardless of their legal status vilified by people who I know do not work as hard or take as many risks to succeed as immigrants do. My respect is for the immigrants. I have nothing but contempt for their detractors. I heard a US Admiral made a comment l like referring to a fellow who carried his daughter from Syria through Turkey to Greece trying to get away from the war in Syria. The Admiral said this is the guy he wants on his team, the guy who is tough and a survivor. He did it to give his daughter a better life. Walk a kilometer in their shoes and tell us if you still think they are such terrible people.

Again, if loving My countrymen over illegals is considered racist and if putting them first over illegals is racist, so be it. I can live with that. I believe in legal immigration at its fundamental core.
How, they don’t control the two largest and most prosperous States.
https://calmatters.org/commentary/2019/09/high-cost-california-no-1-in-poverty/
They have grown exponentially higher under every Democrat in the wealthiest states and what and where has the money gone and why won’t these leaders help them?
You can find the same excerpt in the Bible, nice try.
Commodore Perry
Didn't these people hear Harris tell them not to come to the US?
Jsapc
I wish I had four hands so I could give your post four thumbs up.
Also, a lot of people here ranting against immigrants should probably remember that, as foreigners living in Japan, they too are immigrants. When they spew hate and scorn on immigrants, they just spewn hate and scorn on themselves.
JeffLee
That's a pretty racist statement. How about a bigoted Asian or a bigoted black person?
It is big, but they are either too dumb or too dishonest to get it. Their arguments are based on conflating the most obvious facts, which means they don't have an argument.
bass4funk
Which most are not.

I agree, do it legally, even the Latin countries are criticizing Joe for destabilizing with the open border policy their countries and that is the reason why they were so hostile towards Kamala
OK, ok now come back to 2021 where we now have the United States in a country that is sovereign nation, with rules and laws and borders and they should be always respected and illegal immigration should never be tolerated under any circumstances. I am more concerned with the well-being of poor Americans and homeless Americans, they need to priority over any illegal, and we also need to give priority to the immigrants that have followed the rules and respected our laws and they are trying to become American citizens legally.
It is extremely annoying when liberals want to lecture and quote the Bible and this from people that Don’t even believe in God and for some reason expect the ones that do to take a second look and reflect upon themselves. Too funny. My grandmother came to the states as a legal immigrant and she followed all the rules and taught my mother that as my mother has taught me and as I am now teaching my kids. A country with no borders is not a country and if Mexico can have strict border policies on their end, so can we.
oldman_13
Let them in! They are way more productive than your lazy vagrant who spends all day holding signs begging for money at street intersections.
bass4funk
It’s been 90 days since she was appointed to oversee the border and she still hasn’t shown up. Not surprised. Lol
Blacklabel
She flip flopped on that the very next day with a telephone interview with Spanish speaking media.
She didnt really mean it, just had to say it in English and hope no one heard the follow up to Spanish speakers.
bass4funk
This is sad and tragic, but let’s deal with reality, they don’t want these kids there and that’s no justification for neglect, but I think if the Biden administration would commit to securing the border unconstitutionally, complete the wall, reinstate ICE with all its powers to enforce the immigration laws, hire more CBP agents, give them all the resources they need and have a zero tolerance policy regarding illegal entering we can stop the suffering on both sides, especially these kids that have been put in circumstances that’s not their fault, the fault remains with their parents, this administration and their open borders policy and the Cartels for exploiting these kids.
bass4funk
Very true, excellent point, in my case I came legally, did all the proper and legal work to Make sure I’m financially stable and not a burden on the society in any conceivable way. I didn’t come her illegally, I came here with a valuable skill and trade, making myself more valuable to the country, so that n my case I don’t hate anyone, but you need to come in the country legally. When an illegal skips immigration hearing doesn’t help the illegal immigrant, the nation, and the economy.
bass4funk
Nothing racist about putting Americans and American children first. But if the left wants to call any nation that puts their people first, oh well…
If you were, you wouldn't support right-wing policies that put americans on the streets.
sorry, but the largest poverty especially in the richest democrat states have become now the poorest states, and why is it that the Democrats don’t care about any of the homeless, look at California and look at Los Angeles, Los Angeles has over 50,000 homeless and what is Gavin Newsom doing? Absolutely nothing. And what is Cuomo doing? Absolutely nothing, these people could care less about Americans, but want open borders and blanket amnesty. It’s sickening these men.
A real country would take care of their homeless and 1st and foremost any country
Yes, it is, but liberals use this tired quote again and again, falling on deaf ears.
