Huh... and here I was thinking that the Republican Party was the party against big government seizing people's private property and trampling their rights in order to do whatever it wants.

Guess that's just when it's things the Republican Party think is sacrosanct. If not... prepare for a trampling.

18 ( +20 / -2 )

Govts are there to hassle citizens from living their lives. Taking land isn't a party thing, it is a govt thing.

Republicans just think that the govt which governs least, governs best. For many needs, that is true, but not for all. The current President isn't a true Republican and it seems that most of those in office are either, since they keep spending and spending and spending without ever planning to pay off the debt.

This fiscal conservative, not a republican, thinks the only way to limit the power is to stop deficit spending with a law, require the US govt to under budget by 5%, paying off the debt, and cut back on national defense, internal spying, DHS, TSA waste. Fix the immigration laws to make illegal immigration useless. Make it impossible to work without being legally allowed to work in the country. Make it so having a baby inside the USA doesn't convene citizenship if either parent is illegally in the country or on a non-permanent visa. Seize all the property of any business hiring or paying anyone not approved by the govt to work in the USA. No more incentives to come and no border wall is needed.

There is no excuse why the US should be spending more than the rest of the world on military. Or prescription drugs.

-4 ( +6 / -10 )

Landowners should be more than fairly compensated.

But if it's in the national interest than there is precedent for the government to buy the land.

-15 ( +3 / -18 )

It is not a wall.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Trump's signature campaign promise

was to have Mexico pay for the wall - which it hasn't and won't.

The wall was proposed by Roger Stone (Republican serial fake news spewer arrested earlier along with other Trump syndicate members) as another way to attract white nationalists and others fearful of those not from their demographic, in this case people from south of the border.

The 'wall' will barely put a dent in cross border problems, and cost working and middle class taxpayers (not Trump and his fellow elite who've been given tax breaks). It will take moneys away from other needed projects that serve the general population.

It's a Trump vanity project, another with yuuuuuge contracts he'll award his biggest campaign donors.

15 ( +15 / -0 )

The Republicans are absolutely against all the things they are against except when those things get in the way, then they aren’t against them anymore.

16 ( +16 / -0 )

Seize all the property of any business hiring or paying anyone not approved by the govt to work in the USA.

I um...you haven't thought about that one very carefully, have you?

9 ( +9 / -0 )

I don't think forcible seizure of private land by the government is right. That's not fair in a democratic free society. Either negotiate for purchase at a healthy price to convince them to sell or leave them alone and find another way around the problem. The government has absolutely no right to seize your land against your will.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Watch out! Trump's changing from irate orange to chingado "red"!? But the Trump Wall will befall the same fate as the Babel Tower.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

He has to build about a mile of wall a day next year to make the target. Good luck with that, Donald, but I won't hold my breath.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Landowners should be more than fairly compensated.

But if it's in the national interest than there is precedent for the government to buy the land.

I agree.

The Republicans are absolutely against all the things they are against except when those things get in the way, then they aren’t against them anymore.

Yeah, Like the Democrats that continuously claim to be for border security, but are against any measure to secure the border, they don’t even want to get rid of sanctuary cities or even allow their law enforcement to deal work with ICE.

-18 ( +0 / -18 )

If this land seizure happens, which I doubt, this will be interesting to see how it translates to the voters.

1) In the courts it has been proven that Trump border problem was not a national emergency, so the WH could not transfer funds that was already designated for the military and others areas by Congress.

2) In the GOP and Trumpsters bubble, it doesn't exist unless it specifically happens to their family and them. They don't care about anyone else. That has been true with sexual designation, drugs, abortion, religion, jobs, and public assistance.

Those Trumpsters no where near the border will cheer his efforts, and those near the border will flip just like coal miners losing, the farmers losing, the seniors who will lose their public assistance, and now the border residents.

That is why I don't think Trump should be kicked out of office but voted out next year. It would that much more sweeter!

6 ( +6 / -0 )

I thought Mexico was going to pay for wall, not the local landowners having their land stolen

by the Trumpster.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

So the “no wall has been built -and- the no Wall will ever be funded” liberal speculations both proven untrue.

Nancy said not even 1 dollar! But she just gave Trump more than a billion and no restrictions on transferring more.

-14 ( +2 / -16 )

Well since the land originally was Mexico's and then they lost it in a war, in a sense Mexico really is paying for the wall.

-14 ( +0 / -14 )

So the “no wall has been built -and- the no Wall will ever be funded” liberal speculations both proven untrue

The Trump promise to the people of the US that Mexico would pay for a "beautiful wall" was proven true the moment he took office.

Well since the land originally was Mexico's and then they lost it in a war, in a sense Mexico really is paying for the wall.

Well since the people of Mexican descent still occupy those territories and make up the largest groups in those places, in a sense they are being compensated for their loss.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Sarcasm above!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

So the “no wall has been built -and- the no Wall will ever be funded” liberal speculations both proven untrue.

It's inadvisable to count your chickens before they have come home to roost. Prayerful Nancy has also given the Trumper-in-Chief an impeachment he'll never forget for Christmas. And if the grumpy Trump is disappointed with his "impeachment-lite" gift, maybe she will give him another to feed his insatiable hunger to be always number one, like making him the first US president in history to be impeached twice.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

If this land seizure happens, which I doubt, this will be interesting to see how it translates to the voters.

Where there’s a will, there’s a way, always.

1) In the courts it has been proven that Trump border problem was not a national emergency, so the WH could not transfer funds that was already designated for the military and others areas by Congress.

But the SC did allow for the President to tap other financial resources to use to fund the wall.

2) In the GOP and Trumpsters bubble, it doesn't exist unless it specifically happens to their family and them. They don't care about anyone else. That has been true with sexual designation, drugs, abortion, religion, jobs, and public assistance.

Yeah, yeah, yeah more liberal nonsense.

Those Trumpsters no where near the border will cheer his efforts, and those near the border will flip just like coal miners losing, the farmers losing, the seniors who will lose their public assistance, and now the border residents.

Given the fact that illegals crossings this year was an all time high, one of the highest in recent memory the SC did acknowledge the issue with DACA is unconstitutional. A step in the right direction and a start. California and other border States are a complete mess when it comes to illegal immigration. The Democrats have been completely incognito on this issue and now as crime and homelessness are rapidly rising, liberals are complaining about the prospects of imminent domain? As far as flipping, I don’t see that happening on a large scale at all given his poll numbers are constant.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/12/us/supreme-court-dreamers.html

That is why I don't think Trump should be kicked out of office but voted out next year. It would that much more sweeter!

At this point and time that probably won’t happen.

-11 ( +0 / -11 )

Land isn't the only thing Trump likes to grab.

Not a single brick laid for any new wall.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

Unlike the impeachment, more than a billion dollars in wall funding actually means something.

why did Nancy flip flop and fold?

-12 ( +0 / -12 )

Trump is In a hurry. An election is coming.

When will these selfish landowners understand that they serve at the pleasure of President Trump and in service to His election campaign?

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Might want to update yourself on this. new wall is in progress since October.

Not a single brick laid for any new wall.

-13 ( +0 / -13 )

Nearly everything liberals said wouldn’t happen is happening.

nearly everything they said would happen, didnt.

but muh impeachment* or Russia or something.

-12 ( +0 / -12 )

The American taxpayers who were told Mexico would pay for the wall, but are now being forced to pay for it themselves - those who are against the wall in the first place, would be doubly transgressed by the government

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Blacklabel

from the post

"The U.S. government has built about 90 miles (145 kilometers) of walls since Trump took office, almost all of it replacing old fencing. Reaching Trump’s oft-stated goal of 500 miles (800 kilometers) by the end of 2020 will almost certainly require stepping up progress in Texas."

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Not a single brick laid for any new wall.

What are you talking about?

https://youtu.be/I3hjFU9rNNY

https://www.theepochtimes.com/pentagon-border-wall-going-up-at-about-1-mile-per-day-and-rising_3089137.html

-11 ( +0 / -11 )

What are you talking about?

New wall has replaced previous fences. So how many miles of actual new wall? Just like it says in the post, since Trump took office only 90 miles of wall replacing fences.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

The US is going to give Mexico free land. Thanks Trump

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Trump, his underlings & followers bleated Mex-i-co, Mex-i-co, Mex-i-co ad nauseum for so loud & so long, that one thought the smirks on their faces would be caste in stone.

Now the contorted expressions, esp by the big boy, all scream out Not-Fair, Not-Fair, Not-Fair - them lefty 'merica haters.

The Greatest Show on Earth. And the Elephants balancing act is as funny as the clowns.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

And you said not one brick of new wall. Not true, there has been new wall under construction since October.

-12 ( +0 / -12 )

Being forced by Nancy Pelosi- who just voted to fund it.

but are now being forced to pay for it themselves

-12 ( +0 / -12 )

Wherever the wall has been strengthened, illegal crossings have plummeted. It needs to be completed and maintained for our national security which Pelosi loves to talk about but never does anything to strengthen it.

California is always talking about wanting to leave the Union.*

We're taking California back. Not in 2020 most likely but maybe in 2024 or 2028. We want those 55 Electoral College votes. Wait until California goes Red again, the Democrats will really be screaming at the top of their lungs to abolish it then!

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

Eight miles of original fencing are going up in the Rio Grande Valley, the first new wall to be built under President Trump. The administration wants 500 total miles constructed by 2021.

Nov. 8, 2019

An article from a reputable news source from November 2019 supersedes an article from a right-wing rag from September 2019 that does not elaborate on whether the barrier it was taking about replacing existing barriers or putting up new barriers.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

No.

Yes, so what are they doing? What have they’ve been doing? Please make a list of accurate points as to where and how Democrats have been proactive at curbing illegal immigration, helping ICE, stopping, catch and release, deporting illegals and the growing homeless crisis that is in part increasing from illegals and please, please, don’t go on about the past, I mean now in 2019, what specifically have the Dems done with this President to stop everything I have mentioned?

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

Being forced by Nancy Pelosi- who just voted to fund it.

Severe gaslighting. Pelosi compromises to get actual, important legislation passed and Trumpophiles claim it’s Pelosi’s breaking Donny’s promise.

Trumpophiles have zero integrity.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

New wall has replaced previous fences.

Yes, with the new concrete wall that is being currently built, great.

So how many miles of actual new wall?

Once again...

https://www.theepochtimes.com/pentagon-border-wall-going-up-at-about-1-mile-per-day-and-rising_3089137.html

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

Yes, so what are they doing? What have they’ve been doing? Please make a list of accurate points as to where and how Democrats have been proactive at curbing illegal immigration

So you can make excuses why repubs didn’t support it and discount the facts I present? Sure. Let me get right in that:

The two immigration reform bills Democrats tried to implement in 2013 and were shot down by republicans.

don’t go on about the past, I mean now in 2019,

Of course you don’t want to talk about the past when republicans didn’t care about the border. You want to talk about after the GOP manufactures the outrage. Okay: Pelosi agreeing to the bill finding the border wall that Black was just trying to say means Donny’s lie about Me I i paying for the wall is Pelosi’s fault.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Lots of sales for new ladders. Also shovels. Also Trump is giving away American land to Mexico. What is the solution to ladders and shovels? Also who is paying for all this?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Why did you exclude the title of your article? It says WALL.

Under Construction in Texas: The First New Section of Border Wall

ttps://www.theepochtimes.com/pentagon-border-wall-going-up-at-about-1-mile-per-day-and-rising_3089137.html

Once again, this article does not support your contention that the wall is new and not replacing ore-existing barriers.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Incorrect statement. They just hate your version of America where 27 million people can't afford healthcare. 15 million people claiming food stamps. 2.5 million people in prisons. 25 million people addicted to opioids. 1.5 million people killed from gunshot homicide since John Lennon was shot and killed on the streets of New York. National Deb $23 trillion and rising everyday.

All of these problems caused by democrats. The essence of democratic philosophy is big government, aka welfare and food stamps. They've singlehandedly destroyed the black family and caused high crime in the inner cities. Hillary and sleepy Joe called them super predators and threw black men in prison to serve obscenely long sentences. Dems oppose work requirements to get people off of welfare and they oppose school vouchers so that kids in inner cities can get a better education. Dems are like drug dealers who like to think of their constituents as junkies.

As to the wall, Trump said Mexico would build it; but at this point who cares. Americans are just happy that he's teying to get it built. Trump haters are just using the fact as a hook to hang their hatred of the man.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

Why did you exclude the title of your article? It says WALL.

Because what I posted included the word WALL. Unlike you people, I don’t try to play semantic games or deny facts and logic.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

glad to see you aren’t denying Nancy funded the wall. She lied to you. “Not one dollar!” she said.

What was so important that she needed to find the racist, immoral, unneeded, wasteful wall? What did she sell you all out for in order to get? Any quid pro quo for what she got?

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

Why do Trump people hate California? They have important industry and support the nation. If you want to hate a state that is true garbage and useless then hate Mississippi.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

The two immigration reform bills Democrats tried to implement in 2013 and were shot down by republicans.

I said, now in this year, so what have they been doing? I mean, besides working diligently at trying to impeach this President, they’ve been doing a fine job at that, although pretty much unsuccessful, but what have they been doing for the border, this calendar year?

Of course you don’t want to talk

I live in the Present, so will you answer My question or you won’t or can’t?

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

*But the work until now improved and replaced existing barriers. Construction on the first new section of border wall, where nothing stood previously, started just south of Donna, Texas, in late October.*

Does this sooth your rage, Black?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Less than 80 miles of new wall constructed.

In rural south Texas, construction crews are pushing to finish an 8-mile stretch of border wall in the town of Donna. The total cost is about $167 million.

West of Donna, CBS News saw a second 3-mile stretch of wall that is also being built. Nearly $10 billion has been diverted from government agencies for wall funding. That's a bill U.S. taxpayers, not Mexico, are footing.

Border Patrol Sector Chief Rodolfo Karisch said it's just a start. "We're looking at about 80 to 90 miles over the next year to year and a half," he said. But it won't all be connected.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-border-wall-construction-underway-for-the-first-stretch-built-under-president-trump-2019-12-04/

2 ( +2 / -0 )

The Mexicans will just use ladders and shovels. They have worked for thousands of years.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

I live in the Present,

So, why do you obsessively talk about Obama and Hillary?

so will you answer My question or you won’t or can’t?

I did. The most recent funding bill that Pelosi agreed with and Donny signed.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

The Mexicans will just use ladders and shovels. They have worked for thousands of years.

C4 will do it quicker.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Once again, this article does not support your contention that the wall is new and not replacing ore-existing barriers.

It does because you can drive there and visually see it being constructed or do liberals have some magical power to create the illusion that nothing is being built? I know liberals have powers, but Disney connections? Didn’t know about that one.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

I did. The most recent funding bill that Pelosi agreed with and Donny signed.

You didn’t answer it. Again, as I have outlined, what have the Democrats done? I’m not talking about the money despite the wall going up.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

What is not magical are the way that ladders can be used to go over walls. Trump's waste if taxpayer money

3 ( +3 / -0 )

What happened to not one brick? That’s a huge difference. (Please don’t be lame and tell me you just were saying that cause the wall isn’t made of “brick”)

Less than 80 miles of new wall constructed.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

80 miles? Out of 2000? What a laugh. You don't need ladders. Just shoes to walk around the wall.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

It does because you can drive there and visually see it being constructed or do liberals have some magical power to create the illusion that nothing is being built? I know liberals have powers, but Disney connections? Didn’t know about that one.

Logic failure. You are claiming that if you drive and look, you can see the new wall. This somehow makes your article relevant. Nope.

You didn’t answer it.

The dems voted for the spending bill that coin rains money for the border. That is answering your question.

Again, as I have outlined, what have the Democrats done? I’m not talking about the money despite the wall going up.

Of course you’re not talking about any evidence I present because you aren’t interested in having a conversation, just arguing.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

What happened to not one brick? That’s a huge difference. (Please don’t be lame and tell me you just were saying that cause the wall isn’t made of “brick”)

Yeah, because we only accept lies from conservatives.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

So why did Nancy and all her impeachment friends vote to fund the wall? “Not one dollar!” Yet here we are with billions, approved by Dems.

“the squad” voted against it. What quid pro quo was gained for Nancy by voting for it?

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Nancy voted for it and approved it, not Trump. Oops.

Trump's waste if taxpayer money

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

I drove there from my home near the border and I didn't see it. It's a lie

4 ( +4 / -0 )

You are claiming that if you drive and look, you can see the new wall.

Ok, so the Disney magical powers will mind-feed you the images you see along the border are false.....powerful. Lol

.The dems voted for the spending bill that coin rains money for the border. That is answering your question.

You keep going on about the spending bill, ok, so you don’t want to answer my specific questions because you can’t, no worries.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Rob the land of the poor to build a wall to keep the even poorer out.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Nancy voted for it and approved it, not Trump. Oops.

Shameless gaslighting.

So why did Nancy and all her impeachment friends vote to fund the wall? “Not one dollar!” Yet here we are with billions, approved by Dems.

> “the squad” voted against it. What quid pro quo was gained for Nancy by voting for it?

Are you claiming that the squad didn’t vote for impeachment?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

I drove down to the wall but there wasn't much to see?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Ok, so the Disney magical powers will mind-feed you the images you see along the border are false.....powerful. Lol

No. I am calling out your faulty logic, like I call out your blatant falsehoods.

You keep going on about the spending bill, ok, so you don’t want to answer my specific questions because you can’t, no worries.

Let me get my crayons out and see if I can actually teach you something. This will require you to answer the following question with an appropriate answer.

Did the spending bill contains money for the border? Yes or no?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Rob the land of the poor to build a wall to keep the even poorer out.

And the land wasn't stolen. It was lost by Mexico in a war. For thousands and thousands of years this has been the case among humans. America is not new to this.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

New border wall is not quite what Trump promised on campaign trail

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/videos/new-border-wall-is-not-quite-what-trump-promised-on-campaign-trail/vi-BBXNnKH

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Yes! Being poor doesn't give the right to break the laws of other countries.

Good thing that wasn’t Zichi’s contention or you’d have a point.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Even poor people can afford ladders to go over Trump's wall. It's a joke

4 ( +4 / -0 )

I drove down to the wall but there wasn't much to see?

Huh? Now liberals have different eye configurations? Lol

No. I am calling out your faulty logic

Impossible! Can’t make up stuff that’s before your eyes?

So........1) How have Democrats worked with Trump to stem the flow of illegals?

2) Why are Dems still supporting sanctuary cities?

3) Why do Democrats undermine ICE and threaten the police NOT to interact with them or give them any information?

4) What are Dems doing to stop the growing homelessness problem of many illegals living in States like California, Nevada, Arizona and Texas?

Please answer the questions if you can. No rush.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

The United States has spent more than $1 trillion fighting it's drug war and for the most part failed. This Trump wall will do little to stop the flow of drugs into America where the demand increases year-on-year.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Liberals? Reagan gave out millions of green cards for free.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

New border wall is not quite what Trump promised on campaign trail

It’s actually better.

This Trump wall will do little to stop the flow of drugs into America where the demand increases year-on-year.

It's meant to stop illegal aliens from running into the country. You're not suggesting illegal immigrants bring drugs into the country are you? That could be construed as being racist.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

It can't stop illegal aliens with ladders. And they will deliver drugs with drones

3 ( +3 / -0 )

It's meant to stop illegal aliens from running into the country

Given that most undocumented immigrants entry through ports of entry, how exactly will the wall stem the flow?

Never mind that part of Donny’s justification for the wall is to stem the flow of both drugs and undocumented immigrants.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Never say to a Trump person that illegals come through airports. They never do according to the trumps.

Are you expecting us to believe that Donny was lying or didn’t know what he was talking about?! That’s a stretch.

I have a bridge near Yokohama that I’d like to sell you.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Given that most undocumented immigrants entry through ports of entry, how exactly will the wall stem the flow?

For one thing by the time a person can either scale or even attempt to cut through it, the border patrol is en route or ev if they bypass it, they need to reach the secondary wall. So it greatly slows illegals down and makes it much, much easier to apprehend them.

Thank you, Mr. President.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

once the wall's completed and is topped with barbed wire and and gun towers, that won't happen any more.

Did Donny also promise you barbed wire and gun towers? And, we’re you foolish enough to believe him?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

According to a U.S. official familiar with the project, work crews discovered that the land was too saturated. The planned metal bollards installed on top of concrete panels would have been unstable because of the water levels in the soil, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the person did not have authorization to share the information publicly.

Not to worry. Just throw gobs and gobs and gobs of money at it. It's not like it's better spent in other ways to stop illegal immigration, most of which happens on a plane these days.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

once the wall's completed and is topped with barbed wire and and gun towers, that won't happen any more.

Reading too many Marvel Comiks me thinks.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

we’re you foolish enough to believe him?

Yes! I support Trump. Best US President this century by a long shot.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

Yeah, Like the Democrats that continuously claim to be for border security,

so basically your perfectly fine with land seizures even if it is privately held land and even if its a Republicans land!

Once again, this article does not support your contention that the wall is new and not replacing ore-existing barriers.

about 650miles of wall, mostly fencing currently covers the border, in Trumps first 3yrs less than 100 miles of new wall has been built, most of the work has been spent of replacing existing wall/fencing. so currently there is over 1200miles that has no wall or fencing at all. Goodluck getting that done in a year

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/trump-hasnt-built-a-single-new-mile-of-border-wall-but-construction-is-underway

3 ( +3 / -0 )

So by next year the wall will be sinking into the saturated ground lowering its height and greatly reducing its strength.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Any if you Trumpophiles care to explain how a wall will slow down undocumented immigrants

You're right. It won't stop the flow of undocumented immigrants because they don't exist. But it will cut down on the flow of illegal aliens.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Yes! I support Trump. Best US President this century by a long shot.

well your clearly not supported by most Americans

5 ( +5 / -0 )

1.5 million illegal immigrants living in the republican controlled Lone Star State, Texas. And the business there want them to undercut the pay of American legit workers. The state with the most border crossings, what is it? About 30?

As it goes up and as more of it’s being built, no one said, it’s impossible to enter the country, but this will significantly slow them down and that’s exactly what you want to slow them down and to allow CBP to easily apprehend them. So this is one step at fighting illegal aliens from slowing them down from entering the country illegally.

"The Wall" - maybe Donnie's greatest con-job - in a lifetime of nothing but cons and scams...

Said 63 times he'll build the wall and that Mexico will pay for it...

Added each time for emphasis; "Mark my words, mark my words"...

And has been mentioned what's the result? After three years 63 miles of existing fence replaced, nothing done on the over 1900 miles left...

All with fence that an 8 year old can climb over...

Paid for by taking money away from our military families...

Yep, you win the award for "Scam of the Century" Donnie...and your supporters win the award of "Most Humiliated" for falling for it...
