Well how about that. Even Trump does the right thing occasionally. It must have been done without his full knowledge or understanding, is my guess.

Morning winds have been reactivated I see. Aftermath of the recent typhoon?

That must be why the U.S. just hit Russia with sanctions. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

The State Department did it, not Trump. Interestingly they waited until he was on holiday.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Ha.

"Trump is ruled by Putin."

So the UK will shut down Porterdown and stop Cheyke and Sweden from selling this to the Russian mafia?

A small but good step. But far from enough.

Strangely no tweets from Trump on the matter. :)

He must be spitting feathers about the State Department. Vlad will be on the phone reminding him to get his house in order or else.

Putin is trying to expand the Russian empire

Putin would like to expand the Nordstream 2 pipeline to Germany though. How does that fit into your MSM driven evil Putin fairy tale.

Think how much better life for Europeans and the economy will be when they can pay less for gas.

Pipelines you ask? Well, that's what these sanctions are about, not some lethal nerv.....wait...almost lethal nerve agent false flag attack.

There is only one empire that is actually dangerously expanding, and that would be the one centered around Washington, DC. China comes in a distant second. Russia an even more distant 3rd, maybe tied with Iran.

Yes, Russia is clearly expanding its empire. (Waiting for 'Can't prove it!')

So.... What's wrong with having good relations with Putin?

Good relations among world leaders are important. Nations able to stand up to expanding empires, be it the US, Russia, China, Iran, Turkey, or any other bully, require good relations and perhaps more importantly the ability to tell any bullying leader to back off.

Good relations should not include interfering in any other nation's politics and elections. That applies to each of the countries I listed.

The headline should read: 'U.S. hits Russia with sanctions over ALLEGED nerve agent attack in Britain' as the UK has yet to provide any proof that Russia was involved.

There probably won't be many "What's wrong with having good relations with Putin"

Political ploy for the midterms................Tuesday's elections must scared the toodles out of them.

@bas4 Again, what should Trump do. Go to war?

Start with what he should NOT have done, and that's risk alienating the NATO Alliance, the first line of possible defense against Russian expansion. Putin is trying to expand the Russian empire. A strong NATO can make him think twice about pushing any farther.

At the same time, give more money to US intelligence agencies to stop Russian meddling in US elections and politics. Allow the intelligence agencies to arrest and prosecute those involved. Allow the intelligence agencies to arrest and prosecute those involved in spreading fake news and manipulating social media accounts to spread Russian propaganda. And support Mueller!

Russia’s wealth is based on selling oil and gas. The US should do whatever it can to reduce the amount of hydrocarbons burned, thereby reducing the control the world’s oil and gas powers like Russia have. Alternatives to burning hydrocarbons must be developed.

Freeze Russia’s criminal oligarch’s assets in the US. Putin and his oligarchs, like all of their ilk throughout history, are money driven. Hit them where it hurts most. Revoke their visas.

Freeze the assets of American citizens in the owe to Putin and his oligarchs. Arrest and prosecute them.

Has Trump released any current (i.e. 2016, 2017) tax info? That would be good for the US public to see so they could possibly determine what Trump’s ties are to Russia.

What will be the "sanctions" ? ...

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Fu, that's what they're doing. And that's why Putin is panicking.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

About time. It's only a cosmetic measure, Trump has to be seen to be doing the right thing.

Russia has to learn that there's consequences from killing people.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Just freeze all of Putin's assets that are outside Russia. And freeze the assets of his closest 500 "friends."

Look for Trump fans to jump on this to excuse his wet noodle performance with Putin. There probably won't be many "What's wrong with having good relations with Putin" comments, bit that will just be temporary for this thread.

Ok, so what should Trump do? Go to war? Arrest Putin? So what would the weak Democrats do?

It looks like Rand Paul's playing matchmaker (cupid or whatever) and has hand delivered a secret message from Trump to Putin which may be connected to this. It probably reads as follows:

Dearest Vlad : )

I'm sorry : ( to inform you of the latest sanctions. They were forced upon me by fellow Republicans who just don't understand this Trump-thing-Putin-thing between us. You can imagine my utter surprise : o when I saw the long, nasty list of sanctions. However, seeing as the mid-term elections are just around the corner, I really had no choice : ( and is purely political.

Hopefully : | you will understand the sensitive position I am in at the moment. Once the mid-terms are over, I will declare my undying love for you once again and do my darndest to have the sanctions lifted.

Forever yours,

Donnie XXX

P.S. I'm still looking forward to giving you that guided tour around the White House Rose Garden. Quite beautiful especially when there's a full moon : o

Hmm. Looks like the "deep state" is acting up again.

Trump's gonna be pi **** when he finds out about this.

That was pretty funny.

This has to be fake news as everyone knows that Trump is in ‘collusion’ with the Russians and that Putin has ‘something’ on Trump
