Many QAnon followers believe former President Donald Trump was fighting enemies within the so-called “deep state” to expose a cabal of Satan-worshipping cannibals operating a child sex trafficking ring. Trump’s loss to President Joe Biden disillusioned some believers in “The Storm,” a supposed reckoning in which Trump’s enemies would be tried and executed. Some adherents have now pivoted to believing Trump is the “shadow president” or Biden's victory was an illusion.

Today's GOP.

Today's GOP.

And tomorrow's terrorists, apparently. Chilling.

“He had recently purchased a new truck and believed that QAnon would cover the debt,” the agent wrote.

This is the economic theory of the GOP.

Yet if there are proposals for free health care and education, or a UBI from the other side, using money from these corporations and .01% who are free-riding tax free ,all you would hear is " How are you going to pay for it? ". "That's Marxism!" " Do you want us to become Vuvuzuela!?!"

11 ( +14 / -3 )

Domestic terrorism caused by an elaborate 4chan troll.

“He had recently purchased a new truck and believed that QAnon would cover the debt,”

Almost as ridiculous as thinking he would get a pardon.

U.S. intel report warns of more violence by QAnon followers

Knowing the far right includes many individuals who are far beyond wack, and heavily armed. I believe the intel reports, but accept the 72 or so million Trump backers (i.e. a minority of Americans) will disbelieve anything coming from the 'west' and that the far right extremists will wait to read what the Kremlin and Steve Bannon and his Chinese billionaire backer report instead. The far right have shown they are gullible, and will believe any big lie coming from their messiah 45 and his equally wack media,,they'll even believe people like Gen Flynn who suggests a military takeover of the US ala Myanmar.

The US far right and their fellow white nationalists are heavily armed ,violent and a danger to the majority of Americans which includes people of all races and religions.

Unlike Trump's base the majority of Americans prefer democracy, even one as shattered as America's, over Russian or Chinese style authoritarianism.

Believing any part of this should be ample cause for the forfeiture of the right to own a gun.

Idiots, caught up in a truly stupid conspiracy theory with guns. What could possibly go wrong?

Im more worried about “ peaceful protestors” practicing their right to loot, attack people, and burn cities down.

Antifa and BLM continue to add to the $ billions in destruction. Asians attacked in Dem cities daily. But nothing to see here, move along...

Sure….

Given the credibility of what the intel community has done over the last 3 years, yeah, it’s hard for millions of people to believe them.

https://www.nationalreview.com/news/former-officials-breakdown-the-medias-extremely-damaging-politicization-of-the-intel-community/

and that the far right extremists will wait to read what the Kremlin and Steve Bannon and his Chinese billionaire backer report instead.

Brannon is not the target or the President of the US and is not being tested by Russia or China. Nice deflection.

The far right have shown they are gullible, and will believe any big lie coming from their messiah 45 and his equally wack media,,they'll even believe people like Gen Flynn who suggests a military takeover of the US ala Myanmar.

No, they moved on and focusing on the House and some seemingly growing wins to set themselves up for 2022 and left are focusing on QAnon or these other fringe groups, that’s helps the GOP

The US far right and their fellow white nationalists are heavily armed ,violent and a danger to the majority of Americans which includes people of all races and religions.

And yet, you’re not hearing in the news death and destruction and minorities being killed by these people on a day to day basis. It seems like once again for partisan political reasons, the focus is to get the public’s attention aways from Joe and his weak administration as well as the growing threat from China and focus AGAIN on the former President and it’s actually not working this time.

Unlike Trump's base the majority of Americans prefer democracy,

Wrong! We want democracy, that’s why the GOP is poised to winning the House again and that way they will finally have the power and definitely the fortitude to break up big tech to ensure the rights and freedoms of all Americans to all everyone to Exercise their first amendment rights.

Yeah I'm pretty worried about right-wing extremists infiltrating BLM protests too, fortunately a lot of them have been exposed and arrested last year.

Notice how the leader ship is quiet all of a sudden and how they founder said that the organization is full of crap in the cofounder she’s incognito.

This is so overdone. Where exactly has this happened and what exactly do they think these “terrorists” are going to do?

-12 ( +2 / -14 )

ne to Exercise their first amendment rights.

For the far right exercise 1st Amendment rights, include posting revenge porn.

And to continue using their media to pssh big lieS. they dfendtheir lies by saying REASONABLE people will not believe us.,

A new federal intelligence report warns that adherents of QAnon, the conspiracy theory embraced by some in the mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol, could target Democrats and other political opponents for more violence as the movement's false prophecies don’t come true.

We saw violence last year by other protest groups like Antifa, which attacked federal courthouses.

-15 ( +2 / -17 )

Perhaps they need to be arrested and put into vocational training and education camps. Just throwing them into prison will not help them to rehabilitate.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

One more time, there is no moral equivalence between sporadic violence at mostly peaceful protests (some of which was instigated by right-wing extremist infiltrators) against institutional racism and an (semi) organized attack on a co-equal branch of government in an attempt to invalidate the results of a free and fair election.

No moral equivalence whatsoever.

People who committed acts of destruction at BLM protests and anarchists in Portland should be arrested and held to account. But they were not trying to overthrow the government because they didn't like it that they lost. It's just not even in the same universe.

Oh, and Antifa is not an organized group. It has no membership roles. It has no organizing principle other than being against Fascism (like that is a bad thing.) My grandfather was a member of the original Antifa. Back then it was known as the United States Army.

12 ( +14 / -2 )

“He had recently purchased a new truck and believed that QAnon would cover the debt,” the agent wrote.

The stupidity of these people is unbelievable but then you realize who they support and it all makes perfect sense.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

It's so transparent that the GOQ followers here have nothing to say on the topic of QAnon other than to scream "but what about BLM and Antifa"....

Maybe even they can't bring themselves to admit they're so loony that they believe there is a cabal of pedophiles in government that steal children's adrenochrome in pizza parlors nationwide or that Jewish funded space lasers cause forest fires...

But look around a Trump rally and you'll see nothing but Q banners and T-Shirts...

That says it all...

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Bass: No, they moved on

Trump hasn't. Neither has Arizona and a handful of other states looking to start new investigations.

I honestly believe you personally have moved on, but the GOP and their leader? Nope. Not even close. Trump will again make it the centerpiece of his next appearance.

Coping Mechanisms

https://www.goodtherapy.org/blog/psychpedia/coping-mechanisms#

"Coping mechanisms are the strategies people often use in the face of stress and/or trauma to help manage painful or difficult emotions. Coping mechanisms can help people adjust to stressful events while helping them maintain their emotional well-being."

These QAnon people and goofy whatnots are going to be more prepared and more dangerous the next time around. If you just give them a slap on the wrist for what they did on Jan. 6th, then they'll be even more encouraged to try it again.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Maybe even they can't bring themselves to admit they're so loony that they believe there is a cabal of pedophiles in government that steal children's adrenochrome in pizza parlors nationwide or that Jewish funded space lasers cause forest fires...

There are even people on this very website who said Qanon believers were "very sensible people". Shameful.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

If someone as stupid as MTG can discover that there was a Holocaust, then there’s hope for others.

I believe, despite a lack of evidence, there are some people in Qanon who do have a sliver of sense in them.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Of course something like this will happen again; the penalties were not severe enough for those at the top. The major media figures and politicians involved with Jan 6th have essentially walked away scot-free. This will have awful consequences down the line.

The lower level foot soldiers will pay the price, but they can be replaced by others. That's how online radicalization works.

But as long as there's no real consequences for those at the top, they will continue to issue wink-wink non-denial denials or tacitly support Q adherents as much as they need for their own ends. (I really do think that no one in power actually believes this stuff; it's pure cynicism all the way down.) Until they feel the pain personally, this kind of threat will not go away.

There is an equivalence in violence committed by protest groups directed at government buildings.

And for me, I want to live in a universe where people direct their anger at the government, not at innocent civilians.

I give the Capitol protesters credit for directing their outrage at the government, unlike Antifa, BLM, who attacked civilians, threatened homeowners with guns, burned private citizens' cars and buildings, and looted stores.

It's not like American revolutionists went into people's houses, threatened them with guns, and then stole their tin cups.

The colonists who dumped tea in the Boston Harbor were not seeking to damage private citizens' property; they were directing their acts towards a government that imposed tariffs on the tea, and thereby destroyed the accompanying tariffs with that tea.

Depending on the polls, 20-25%% of Republicans believe in Q. Slightly more Republicans believe that "patriots" will have to use violence to restore America.

I see. So you must be opposed to the poster above who posted this as a condemnation of antifa:

I wonder who that poster was? Oh well. I'm not going to scroll up and look again.

They were actually outraged against democracy. Which is why they were trying to prevent it.

That's right. A British court just sent a former Neo-Nazi UKIP member to jail for 18 years for terrorist offences.

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-somerset-57468303

In the UK, foreign-owned right wing media pumps out anti-muslim propaganda on a daily basis, but it's the home-grown nutters who are making bombs in their cellars.

Amazing how these Q adherents suddenly get rational when faced with some time at Club Fed...

A far-right Arizona conspiracy theorist known as "QAnon Shaman," who stormed the Capitol in a fur headdress with horns, says he feels "duped" by Trump after the former president didn't pardon him, his lawyer has said.

https://www.businessinsider.com/q-shaman-us-capitol-rioter-feels-duped-trump-lawyer-says-2021-1

Capitol riot defendant Anthony Antonio had watched so much Fox News that he was inflicted with "Foxitis" and "Foxmania" and was brainwashed into believing the presidential election was stolen from Trump, his attorney, Joseph Hurley, told a judge earlier this month, according to Huffington Post.

https://currently.att.yahoo.com/att/trump-blaming-foxitis-cancel-culture-200321270.html

"Duped" and "brainwashed"... Two words that perfectly describe MAGA-world....

I see. So you must be opposed to the poster above who posted this as a condemnation of antifa:

Why would I be opposed to the poster? I am opposed to violence committed by Antifa protesters against private citizens, property. Who isn't?

I wonder who that poster was? Oh well. I'm not going to scroll up and look again.

That's a right given to everyone here.

They were actually outraged against democracy. Which is why they were trying to prevent it.

Really? So the Antifa violent protesters were not outraged against democracy? Like the rights afforded to private citizens to feel safe in their homes and businesses?

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

Commodore: I give the Capitol protesters credit for directing their outrage at the government, unlike Antifa, BLM

Who cares?

When the story is about Antifa violence, right wingers talk about Antifa violence. When the story is about right-wing violence, right wingers talk about Antifa violence.

It's a coping mechanism due to the anxiety right wingers feel when having to face the fact we're getting warnings from the government on a weekly basis about the growing dangers of right wing terrorists.

13 ( +14 / -1 )

And for me, I want to live in a universe where people direct their anger at the government, not at innocent civilians.

So what you're saying is that you want to live in a universe where right-wing loons don't infiltrate peaceful protests in order to instigate riots. Which is what provably happened in the vast majority of cases last year. Well, I agree with you!
