No surprise. While I assume he is probably guilty, all the court had were accusations about events many years ago. Just think for a moment about what it would mean if someone could get convicted on the basis of only that. In this case, the system worked correctly.

This is the problem with juries, they can never be completely impartial and objective. They advised the judge early on that they were deadlocked and then continued the farce for another 48 hours with no progress. What's the bet that the positions of all the jurists didn't change in those 48 hours? I'm not sure how a trial like this can be properly tried with a jury

But article is this case.

I'm not talking about this case. There were rumors around the city and industry within which he worked.

He did in PA.  Not in CA..  Hollywood is in CA.

@Lizz, rumor or love affairs?

There was reasonable doubt in this particular case, but it is likely given that the rumors have been around Hollywood for decades, probably before this type of behavior was even a crime.

The prosecutors are planning to bring this case to appeal.  Mistrial verdict so appealing may give different verdict.  Meanwhile, an old TV show series channel  we can watch Cosby series.  I think Gloria Allred will be involved again.  She will line up other Crosby victims to cooperate with DA team.

I wish I could believe Cosby didn't do it, but when 50+ seemingly respectable women all have similar stories to tell of being drugged and raped, well, it's hard to believe that they are all slandering a so-called decent man unless there's some truth to it.

I agree.

@kiyoshi

It's a criminal case. Nobody's being sued.

why would he rape someone if he has so much money? And the answe is "he didn't rape"

That's some pretty faulty logic there. If you believe your logic to be accurate, then please explain why being rich would prevent someone from raping.

Nobody wants to work and want free money, that's why celebrities are sued for rape, but why would he rape someone if he has so much money? And the answe is "he didn't rape"

She lost,

Gloria Allred tried to win but she lost.  I think this is first caase

A sad ending to this man's life. He was revered as a hero, moved forward race relations, and made so many people laugh. But in the end it turned out he was tainted, and for all his good, he also did so much bad.

The lack of conviction speaks more to the fact that any victim of sexual assault will find it difficult in the criminal justice system to get a verdict against an alleged rapist. It's easy to assume Cosby's celebrity got him off, but statistically, those accused of rape get off often, and this case is the rule more than an exception.
