It's amazing how media, lying through all its teeth, can manipulate people when they could easily discover the right from wrong:

Yeah. We've already seen a link to the NY Post offered as a source, in this thread. If you'll believe anything in that stinking pile of garbage, you'll believe anything.

Russia doesn't want war and neither does the U.S. This is all media propaganda to keep the people afraid.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

No idea whether this is true or reds-under-the-bed cold war scaremongering to take peoples minds off domestic failures and other policies, as neither government can be trusted.

its pretty much a choice between selling it now, or being stuck with inventory no one wants.

A tough choice, especially when there aren't many buyers now.

Then we can all play the ‘told you so’ game whichever way it goes.

I don't think I'll be playing this time. I feel quite ignorant and, as a result, very angry and also sad. I don't trust the Russian government, I don't trust the US government, I don't trust the Ukrainian government, and I especially don't trust my own government in the UK. As a school kid, I learned of the horrors of war from my teachers, my parents, my grandparents and other older relatives. Later in Japan, I learned similar lessons from people who lived through and served in war. It often seems our current world leaders didn't get those lessons.

what should your country do?

Stay out of it.

The US is pushing this harder than an ice cream vendor who's freezer conked out and has been told the repair guy will get to him next week.

I know the US ramped up production of mortars and shells in anticipation of being able to sell them to the Afghan military, and Yemen is demonstrating that a handful of armed drones gives a military capabilities that no amount of mortars and shells can match, but has the market for them really dried up that much?

Actually, it probably has, seeing as the last attempt by someone with American backing to overthrow a government was that pathetic incident in Venezuela, before that was the embarrassment of the US backed Afghan forces literally evaporating into thin air faster than the US could retreat, IRIK (Imperium Regime In uKraine) is probably going to do a DAESH soon (stop trying to expand in the direction the US wants them to because the population is fighting back so hard they can't, and decide to expand the other way, where it will be a lot easier) so there's only a limited time before they become a buyer the Imperium can't sell to (at least not directly, and having to sell through 2 or 3 'middlemen' who's cut comes out of the sellers profits certainly puts a crimp on things) its pretty much a choice between selling it now, or being stuck with inventory no one wants.

The USA foments lies and propaganda about the massing of Russian troops preparing to invade the Ukraine. Sends US troops to supposedly protect NATO allies - of which Ukraine is not a member.

Obama, refused to intercede in The Ukraine. Biden should follow suit. There is no political advantage to be gained.

Biden still pushing for that election cycle war.

It's amazing how media, lying through all its teeth, can manipulate people when they could easily discover the right from wrong:

In December 2021 the imminent invasion was supposed to start in early January. In early January it became in the end of the month. Towards the end of January the date was shifted to mid February. As little remains to mid February the British MoD sources this morning postponed the invasion till end of February.

To suggest that the Russians want peace is much likely than the Americans suggesting that the Russians want war…

Putin knows that he needs to make his move “ by the end of March “.

Didn't you see the post above where a commenter is saying Putin has been fighting in Ukraine since 2014?

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

I wish Putin had taken up ice skating.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

"They estimated such an attack would leave 25,000 to 50,000 civilians dead, along with 5,000 to 25,000 Ukrainian soldiers and 3,000 to 10,000 Russian ones."

It's Russia we're talking about, I know, but still I find it really hard to believe that even Russia would do such an evil thing.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Putin knows that he needs to make his move “ by the end of March “.

The next few weeks will be critical.

...

We all know that Putin has this big old dream of restoring the Soviet Empire. What a dangerous dream that is(!)

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

The strategy and time frame President Putin has chosen, only Putin his advisers, generals are privy too.

This is ultimate show of military force, cards have been thrown on the table.

Putin seemingly wants to reverse geopolitics some thirty years.

There may be an opportunity, to restart US/Russian arms treaty.

The threat on Ukraine boarder, all the military hardware is right in Europe’s face.

Be mad all you want about the truth.

has any other country calculated and announced nonsense like this?

They estimated such an attack would leave 25,000 to 50,000 civilians dead, along with 5,000 to 25,000 Ukrainian soldiers and 3,000 to 10,000 Russian ones.

It could also trigger a refugee flood of one to five million people, mainly into Poland, the officials added.

If the US wants to start the party they’ll have Ukraine invade Donbass, then the gloves will come off. Russia will most likely respond with artillery but no invasion unless Donbass gets critical. That will give the warmongers and their MSM pawns the pretext they need to start the party. And Biden will have his war.

Belorussia shot down a Ukrainian drone over their territory on Jan. 3 so the warmongers are probing.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

Lil' Putin is all bluff. He doesn't have the guts to start a war with the US. His men would be buried and his rusty old tanks blown sky high.

This will likely prove to be pantomime from the Russian side and Lil' Putin.

President Putin in unlikely to rain on Xi Jinping winter Olympic Games Beijing 2022 parade.

So lets review the dates February 4, 2022 – February 20, 2022......

This is the window the Global Community has to work to.

Must be a clear policy and strategy.

All have to unite to sweep aside domestic grievances and commit to singing from the same hymn sheet.

Europe has been aware of the dangers yet fell into a political zero carbon black hole

Energy security quickly followed suit.

An interesting scenario is evolving here. Putin is showing his strength and to be honest there is little determination from the west to confront him, apart from the usual suspects. Divide and conquer seems to be working out well, if one takes a look at social media.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

President Joe Biden has decided to send American forces to Poland to protect NATO members,

Why do US troops need to send even more troops to protect Germany?

Poland?

Romania?

so these troops are not related to the “Ukraine invasion” at all then?

US business is based on WAR

And War-related products.

There is, lasting for 8 years already.

Do you mean the Ukrainian invasion of the Russian-speaking Donbass region of 2014?

0 ( +6 / -6 )

I know exactly what I would do if I was Putin, and I’ll not be surprised if he does it. The bluff of full-scale invasion gives him the option for slicing off a surgical chunk. The only question for him must be the incision line. He can’t keep his generals and troops stamping around in the snow forever.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

what should your country do?

Mind our own business for once.

M. Jamil:

There's no invasion of Ukraine & there never was one except in the heads of US & UK authorities.

There is, lasting for 8 years already.

U.S. officials say Russia preparing full-scale invasion of Ukraine

US officials also time & again fill the world with fake news about Iraqi WMDs. They destroyed a four-thousand years civilization, invaded the country, killed, wounded & disbursed over 15 million Iraqis then said: Oh, it's a mistake, no WMDs here.

There's no invasion of Ukraine & there never was one except in the heads of US & UK authorities.

Wise voices are coming from the States. The National Interest Article:

"Why Biden Should Give Diplomacy With Russia a Chance".

3 ( +8 / -5 )

We are about 2-3 weeks away from this joining the “nobody ever said that….” family of narratives. That’s the new thing instead of liberals and their aligned politicians admitting they were wrong.

“nobody ever said that Russia was going to invade Ukraine”.

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

I cannot find much about Sylvie LANTEAUME, beyond her also publishing for the Rand Corporation, one of the most hawkish organizations I know of.

Does anyone know another source for this article besides :://www.france24.com/en/live-news/20220206-us-officials-say-russia-preparing-full-scale-invasion-of-ukraine

Long passed time for all nations, particularly those controlling empires to stop wars for any reason. Whichever nation fires the first shot and/or crosses another nation's borders without being asked by the invaded nation to do so, should be responsible for taking in and supporting civilians displaced by the military actions. And should pay to rebuild the nation that was invaded.

U.S. officials say Russia preparing full-scale invasion of Ukraine:

How many times more must US officials keep saying this?

If it is a lie, does it mean a lie repeated many times would become a fact..?

10 ( +16 / -6 )

Biden still pushing for that election cycle war.

isn’t it strange that Bloomberg is the news organization that already had the Russia invaded Ukraine headline ready to go?

https://nypost.com/2022/02/04/bloomberg-accidentally-reports-that-russia-invaded-ukraine/

-4 ( +7 / -11 )

I’ll wait for something concrete.

Then we can all play the ‘told you so’ game whichever way it goes.

6 ( +11 / -5 )

Let's hope this intelligence is wrong, and there isn't an imminent invasion.

The US intelligence identifying the 1,500 Russian special forces soldiers at the border is, either very good technique, or the Spetznaz is poor at concealing its operations.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Sounds prepping for a full scale invasion all right
