100k casualties in a couple of months in a failed attempt to desalinate a mine.

How’s the larger de-satanization plan going, mini-me?

3 ( +9 / -6 )

That's probably an undercount. And of the 200,000 that are wounded, many of them maybe scarred mentally and physically for life. Russia is losing a generation and that is a good thing for the world.

The message here is

1) your tax dollars, billions of them, have not been wasted.

2) Ukraine must fight on and not give up. It must not allow China to broker a peace deal or a ceasefire.

3) The Biden Administration is doing an excellent job. A new administration in 2025 would destabilize the situation in Ukraine.

These points but unironically. China is no more a peace broker in the conflict than the US is.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

Oh, we’re going to get to peace. Just not the way or on the terms that puttie and his fan-bois envisioned.

3 ( +10 / -7 )

Washington's mouth peace wont believe much of what he has to say.

What happened to the 200,000-250,000 casualties claimed months ago?

-6 ( +8 / -14 )

This is just in Bakhmut and just in the last few months.

The article clearly states this IN THE FIRST SENTENCE.

The White House said Monday it now estimates that just since December Russia has suffered 100,000 casualties, including more than 20,000 killed

5 ( +9 / -4 )

The article clearly states this IN THE FIRST SENTENCE.

So this new 100 is in addition to the other 200 to 250 huh?

So more than 1/3 of a million soldiers are supposed casualties now? might as well just claim a gazillion.

-9 ( +7 / -16 )

Truth is the first casualty of war. Then, lying about war casualties comes next.

12 ( +14 / -2 )

Milley said in November that Ukrainian casualties wereprobably also about 100,000.

Also? what happened to that 7 to 1 propaganda?

-11 ( +3 / -14 )

So more than 1/3 of a million soldiers are supposed casualties now?

The total casualty count is estimated at upwards of 250k dead and wounded.

If you ever read a credible news source, you’d likely be aware of this.

But you still claim Russia is winning even though it has yet to accomplish a single mission objective 15 months into a 3 day operation, so that figures.

5 ( +11 / -6 )

If you want to believe what the white house says then thats your own prerogative

You will know when there is a ceasefire or a peace plan by the concessions each side makes. These numbers just say to Ukraine, you're not done yet, carry one.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

The total casualty count is estimated at upwards of 250k dead and wounded.

No, as this new 100 was not included in that previous total amount.

“The article clearly states this IN THE FIRST SENTENCE.”

-8 ( +4 / -12 )

Whichever side is tapping out and asking for peace is the side that has the higher number of casualties.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

LOTS dying there, FAR MORE Starving globally due to War

CIA US Ukraine Intel (covered by JT) reported by Salon, highly rated progressive investigative journalism, on state conflict. Best to be reality based, CIA expects ongoing stalemate. Analysts place MORE confidence in such sources than Mainstream Media - OBVIOUSLY.

*Despite denials by Pentagon, documents show *higher death tolls on Ukrainian side may be correct, as it has been widely reported that Russia has been firing several times number of artillery shells as Ukraine, in a bloody war of attrition in which artillery appears main instrument of death.

Altogether, some of documents estimate total death toll on both sides approaching 100,000 and total casualties, killed and wounded, of up to 350,000.

"Russia has lost as many as 1,820 soldiers in Ukraine in the past two weeks."

"The total number of Russian troops killed in Ukraine that researchers have been able to verify has reached 20,451. Non-professional soldiers, including volunteers, mercenaries and those drafted as part of the countrywide mobilization drive, comprise a third of that number. "

"However, according to researchers, and based on the rapidly growing number of graves appearing in cemeteries across the country, the Russian military’s true death toll in Ukraine is likely to stand at over 41,000 people. "

How can they ever know any details or casualty numbers, if not at all involved as NATO? That somehow doesn’t fit. lol

Exactly, only leaked US CIA Ukraine intel has any credibility, easy to find LOTS of it online. One does wonder exactly how Ukrainians feel about leaked intel?

-11 ( +0 / -11 )

Ridiculous to compare.

No ridiculous at all.

How many weapons has China supplied to the conflict ?

We don't know how many Chinese drones have ended up in Russia. We don't know how many Chinese chips have gone into Russian hardware. We don't know how many Chinese ships are helping Russia avoid sanctions. We do know China has been buying as much oil and gas as possible and making plans to buy more.

Huh ?

You confused or something?

Yeah right ! !

You agreeing with yourself?

Diplomacy is needed to end the conflict not weapons.

If you read the Chinese statement right, Russia has to withdraw to respect Ukraines territorial integrity. Russia isn't taking the first step necessary for peace and I'm guessing since the ceasefire terms include as much NATO weaponry as possible they aren't too talkative either.

The USA has done diddly squat to broker peace in the Ukraine conflict.

The US is respecting territorial integrity here so it is actually doing the most to broker peace.

That's the style, Ukraine! Give 'em the bayonet!

U.S. says 20,000 Russians killed in Ukraine war since December

well the americans would say that wouldnt they ? remember this is as much a war of propoganda as it is of guns and bombs.....dont believe the hype !

-8 ( +5 / -13 )

Awa no Gaijin

The USA has done diddly squat to broker peace in the Ukraine conflict.

Yes. The US respects Ukraine's decision to stand and fight, and after the atrocities in Bucha, who can blame them.

4 ( +10 / -6 )

”It’s three times the number of killed in action that the United States faced on the Guadalcanal campaign in World War II and that was over the course of five months,” Kirby said.

Ukraine are extracting a high cost from the Russians.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

Tokyo, most Americans could care less about Ukraine, when they facing financial hardship, and need help themselves from the government

-15 ( +1 / -16 )

Since Russia has actively concealed the numbers of war dead and injured, it is almost impossible to know the true figures. Undoubtedly they are massive, but it seems that Russia places less value on human life per se. Sadly Ukraine is forced to fight back for its continued existence, hand-to-hand, so their losses will be huge too.

4) The Russian army sucks.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

A small sacrifice, according to dear leader Putin. Stop complaining (or you'll be arrested and probably sent to the front line), all is going according to plan!

3 ( +6 / -3 )

No, as this new 100 was not included in that previous total amount.

“The article clearly states this IN THE FIRST SENTENCE.”

The casualty count for the last 5 months is clearly stated. That Bakhmut has been the sole area of operations is a widely known fact.

That the total casualties are far higher can be easily inferred from even a cursory reading of the text.

For example:

Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said in November that Russia had suffered well over 100,000 killed or wounded in the first eight months of the war.

As the FIRST SENTENCE clearly states that the 100k count is since December, the total count would be greater. First grade addition would put it at a minimum if 200k.

Perhaps a remedial reading comprehension and current events course is in order?

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Well of course we can believe the US…NOT.

-3 ( +7 / -10 )

Russia has not being trying to take Bakhmut for months. Once they realized that Ukraine would pour men and material into the cauldron, Russia just turned it into a shooting gallery. They have probably decided to straighten the line over the past month to concentrate on rebuffing the much advertised Ukrainian spring offensive that Washington is forcing the Ukraine into.

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

a large amount are probably civilians killed by western weapons.

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

Russia just turned it into a shooting gallery

With the targets being the Russians themselves!

7 ( +9 / -2 )

Seems 2020 that our productive discussion on US CIA Ukraine Intel leaks was also not welcome. Suppression, CLEAR sign things GOING SOUTH - desperation.

Policy Makers NOT so easily suppressed thankfully.

Suspect MORE US Ukraine Intel leaks coming soon.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

a large amount are probably civilians killed by western weapons.

Because western weapons are evil and indiscriminate? Remember Russia is the one whose entire doctrine is that massed artillery will magically make lines move and cities surrender.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

No mention of Ukrainian losses?

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

The Americans are fixated on a body count. Russia doesn’t care! It’s not a democracy. Parents of the dead aren’t going to demonstrate against Putin. And Russia has had a history of just absorbing these deaths. Knowing that they have way more troops than Ukraine. Stalin once said “ Quantity has a quality of its own”. In this war, we need to ensure Russian looses its quality by reducing its quantity.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Those honourable Russian hero's will be remembered, their sacrifice shall not goes in vain!

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Those honourable Russian hero's will be remembered, their sacrifice shall not goes in vain!

What makes you think that? You can't even get an honest number of how many heroes have been created in Putin's War.

Russia didn't just absorb the losses in Afghanistan. This isn't 1941. I suspect a lot of Russians have been brought up with some knowledge that their country shouldn't have to meatgrinder them to survive and that there are more important things than Putin's ego.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

that the 100k count is since December

yet you and others were already saying 200k in December.

So I find it odd with 100 more that it is now.....200k.

Same poor math you did in the Trump article that a 79 year old woman was in her mid 40s 27 years ago.

Liberals and math are like vampires and garlic.

There was definitely not a huge explosion at a Ukrainian ammunition depot today after being hit by a Russian rocket because we all know Russia is out of rockets and fighting with shovels.

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

definitely not a huge explosion. didnt you hear, all the missiles were shot down!

(despite things on fire on the ground)

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

Russia has not being trying to take Bakhmut for months.

May 2, 2023: the Russian fanboys give up on Bakhmut, pretend they never wanted it in the first place.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

definitely not a huge explosion. didnt you hear, all the missiles were shot down!

Because only missiles hitting their targets can cause fires.
