It's difficult to trust China, but it's difficult to trust this administration, as well. I'm not at all sure because of Trump's penchant for lies and scapegoating. While I don't believe China did a great job revealing information of the virus, initially, and they may be guilty of hacking, now, America's tardy action at the onset of the virus in the United States is on Trump, and he keeps blaming China, Obama...everyone but himself, for the outbreak in the USA, the worst hit country in the world.

He asked a reporter of Chinese descent today, to 'go ask China' when she asked a legitimate question of why he keeps saying America is doing far better than any other country in testing, and why does that matter...why is he making it a global competition when Americans are losing their lives every day and his answer was 'maybe you should go ask China.', then refused a follow up question after calling on that reporter, getting surly, and then refusing to allow her to ask the question and left the stage, claiming the last question was nasty. No, it wasn't. It was legit and he was being extremely rude.

So when he behaves in such a manner of what I see as presidential avoidance of responsibility and blame, when his administration blames China, I have difficulty believing the US doing so is about the virus itself, as it seemingly comes from a political and scapegoating place, so credibility of actions and words against China are diluted. When I see an article of further controversy concerning China and the coronavirus, I view it with a grain of salt. This is what happens when you can't trust your own president who's a proven liar, 18,,000 times.

Guess you'll have to take China's side then and become an enemy of the United States and most of the world.

Ahh, the old binary 'if you're not with us, you're against us' attitude.

America can be trusted about as far as China.

Which is about as far as I can spit.

True. But that doesn't absolve China in any way.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

True. But that doesn't absolve China in any way.

What does that matter? Just like we couldn't make America take responsibility for Iraq because they are too powerful, neither can we make China take responsibility for the virus, as they are too powerful.

Some evil countries can do injustice through the right of might. The rest of us can only sit back and watch their evil.

You know, like someone who gives them millions of dollars in contracts to make his clothing line in Chinese sweatshop factories with slave labor...

The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation and cybersecurity experts believe Chinese hackers are trying to steal research on developing a vaccine against coronavirus, two newspapers reported Monday.

So Trump supporters, just yesterday you were calling the FBI "scum" and "Deep State criminals", who "set up" poor Micheal Flynn - and screamed they can never be trusted....

Yet you're trusting them today....care to explain that?

If the Chinese steal US TrumpCare technology and take the research further to the point of finding an effective cure/vaccine before the US does then who cares??? Copy all you want China if it gets the world economy rolling again. All Trump does is blame President Hillary.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

no one is talking about Iraq. We are talking about holding China responsible for hacking us.

Are you for that or are you on Team China?

0 ( +6 / -6 )

because its not the same people.....obviously. Those people who did all that are gone bye bye.

Who is being hacked? I've never been hacked. Again, Trump can't even beat China in the CV war.

Are you for that or are you on Team China?

If they find a cure before Trump and TrumpCare does then I'm all for China. Who cares about which country comes up with a cure first? Trump is running the CV fight as bad as his casino. Also, people are facing great medical bills due to the failure of TrumpCare. Trump is crazy. He says we should ingest Mr. Clean to kill the CV.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

read the headline and then the article. it tells you what you need to know.

Its nothing about you. or Trump, or casinos, or medical bills. or "Trumpcare" or even Mr. Clean. too bad.

When it comes to a vaccine for humans, I'm on team human myself.

It is very relevant. Trump is relying on unproven medical treatments like Mr. Clean while China is taking Science that has already been established (not Mr. Clean) and at least making an effort in the right scientific direction. If China finds and vaccine/cure first because of Trump/TrumpCare incompetence then I'm fine with China copying.

That's fine, becasue Trump's research is based on Mr. Clean treatments and China (although it may be copied) is based on Science. Remember the Trump people don't believe in Science. Proof is Pence does not wear a mask because he relies on Jesus to protect him.

You are the only one mentioning Iraq - good for you - that all happened during a REPUB administration...

By the way, whose side is the guy who gives China millions of dollars to make his clothing line on?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

i didnt mention Iraq. You might want to read more carefully. and stay on the topic, for once. has nothing to do with a clothing line or the FBI or Mike Flynn. How do you feel about China hacking the USA vaccine reseach?

The Trump administration received its first formal notification of the outbreak of the coronavirus in China on Jan. 3.

Within days, U.S. spy agencies were signaling the seriousness of the threat to Trump by including a warning about the coronavirus — the first of many — in the President’s Daily Brief.

Trump failed at handling the pandemic, why would expect him to be better at Tech issues when he still uses his personal phone?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Shouldn't everyone be sharing a vaccince?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Shouldn't everyone be sharing a vaccince?

That is what most mature leaders of powerful countries would normally do.

However, because the current US president has created an atmosphere of mistrust with our Allies by trying to buy a German company behind the German government's back to supply only the US. Then trump started pushing a drug that is produced by a company in France that he owns a small share in.

The malaria pill hydroxycholoroquine failed to help coronavirus patients in 2 big studies

Finally, he suggested zapping people with sunrays and drinking bleach; therefore, no one trusts trump or the US at the moment. Most nations already mistrusted China, but the US's reputation has declined to record lows since this new presidency.

For China's part, they are lying about the severity of the situation in their country and the true death toll. They probably have the highest number of deaths in the world followed by the US.

Both China and Russia are trying to take advantage of the US's vulnerabilities during this pandemic with an idiot in the WH.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

The rest of us can only sit back and watch their evil.

No, we can stand up to them.

We can start with boycotting US and Chinese products.

It may only be a small step, but from little acorns grow...

The people should not be scared of their governments.

The governments are there to serve the people - not the other way round.

Russia, if you're listening...

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Guess you'll have to take China's side then and become an enemy of the United States and most of the world.

The people of both China and the USA are not my enemy.

But the governments of both have made enemies of the rest of the world. Not to mention, their own peoples.

It is abundantly clear that both these corrupt administrations need removing and lengthy prison sentences.

How do you feel about China hacking the USA vaccine reseach?

I'm perfectly fine with the direction Trump wants to take the research:

"I see the disinfectant that knocks it out in a minute, one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning? As you see, it gets in the lungs, it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it would be interesting to check that."

(Trump)

Yes, China, please steal away, because Trump wants to change from mainstream Science to......who knows what???

Poor Dr. Deborah Birx, maybe she should go and help the Chinese. At least she won't have to do research on Mr. Clean as Trump has ordered.

In this case. Yes, GO CHINA. Also, China (even though CV started there) is so far doing better with the CV fight.

The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation and cybersecurity experts believe Chinese hackers are trying to steal research on developing a vaccine against coronavirus, two newspapers reported Monday.

And taking the President at his word, they quickly broke into the Clorox company computers...

And no answers from the Trump supporters to a couple of easy questions....wonder why.....

Really? Just yesterday you were saying all those folks were "criminals" for railroading Flynn - what's changed in 24 hours?

By the way, whose side is the guy who gives China millions of dollars to make his clothing line on?

It is ironic that the 'report' relies on an agency that has a mandate to hack the very same targets for the very same reasons.

And a further irony that the purpose of the report is to discourage those trying to find ways to stop the pandemic as quickly as possible from doing the exact thing that will allow them to do so, openly sharing what they are doing, and what the results are.

In Beijing Foreign Affairs ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian rejected the allegation, saying China firmly opposes all cyber attacks.

Sure they do:

Military hacking of other militaries is to be expected. Looking the other way for economic hacking/stealing trade secrets is completely different.

Ahh, the old binary 'if you're not with us, you're against us' attitude.

That is a bipartisan affliction. Ask Tara Reade.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

i didnt mention Iraq.

I was the one who mentioned Iraq. I was pointing out that Americans who think anything can be done to China in retaliation of this are ignorant of their own history, where they perpetuated an atrocity, intentionally, that lead to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians, and got off without having to take responsibility. The Americans are going to have to learn the lesson they taught to the world - that when a country is powerful enough, might makes right.

And for those who think more sanctions and trade wars with China is the way to go - yeah, that makes sense for restarting an economy in the middle of a global depression.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

That is a bipartisan affliction.

It's an American affliction alright. Having a two party system has turned Americans into binary thinkers, they think there is only this or that, A or B, black or white, China or America.

The civilized first world fortunately is able to think in nuances.

Trump hasnt believed anything the FBI has investigated in the past , what suddenly changed his mind that they are worth listening to now!?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

wtfjapan: seriously some people have totally lost any form of morality and decency they think the economy is worth more than thousands of elderly lives

You must be unaware of the consequences of a world-wide economic depression. Oh my...
