It's difficult to trust China, but it's difficult to trust this administration, as well. I'm not at all sure because of Trump's penchant for lies and scapegoating. While I don't believe China did a great job revealing information of the virus, initially, and they may be guilty of hacking, now, America's tardy action at the onset of the virus in the United States is on Trump, and he keeps blaming China, Obama...everyone but himself, for the outbreak in the USA, the worst hit country in the world.
He asked a reporter of Chinese descent today, to 'go ask China' when she asked a legitimate question of why he keeps saying America is doing far better than any other country in testing, and why does that matter...why is he making it a global competition when Americans are losing their lives every day and his answer was 'maybe you should go ask China.', then refused a follow up question after calling on that reporter, getting surly, and then refusing to allow her to ask the question and left the stage, claiming the last question was nasty. No, it wasn't. It was legit and he was being extremely rude.
So when he behaves in such a manner of what I see as presidential avoidance of responsibility and blame, when his administration blames China, I have difficulty believing the US doing so is about the virus itself, as it seemingly comes from a political and scapegoating place, so credibility of actions and words against China are diluted. When I see an article of further controversy concerning China and the coronavirus, I view it with a grain of salt. This is what happens when you can't trust your own president who's a proven liar, 18,,000 times.

Hopefully US intelligence agencies and their cycbersecurity experts will be able to stop not just these Chinese hackers, but all organizations involved in cyberwarfare tactics of all sorts, including those spreading fake news like pizzagate and others, regardless nation.

If the Chinese steal US TrumpCare technology and take the research further to the point of finding an effective cure/vaccine before the US does then who cares??? Copy all you want China if it gets the world economy rolling again. All Trump does is blame President Hillary.

Who is being hacked? I've never been hacked. Again, Trump can't even beat China in the CV war.
If they find a cure before Trump and TrumpCare does then I'm all for China. Who cares about which country comes up with a cure first? Trump is running the CV fight as bad as his casino. Also, people are facing great medical bills due to the failure of TrumpCare. Trump is crazy. He says we should ingest Mr. Clean to kill the CV.

It is very relevant. Trump is relying on unproven medical treatments like Mr. Clean while China is taking Science that has already been established (not Mr. Clean) and at least making an effort in the right scientific direction. If China finds and vaccine/cure first because of Trump/TrumpCare incompetence then I'm fine with China copying.

The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation and cybersecurity experts believe Chinese hackers are trying to steal research on developing a vaccine against coronavirus, two newspapers reported Monday.
That's fine, becasue Trump's research is based on Mr. Clean treatments and China (although it may be copied) is based on Science. Remember the Trump people don't believe in Science. Proof is Pence does not wear a mask because he relies on Jesus to protect him.

Finally, he suggested zapping people with sunrays and drinking bleach; therefore, no one trusts trump or the US at the moment. Most nations already mistrusted China, but the US's reputation has declined to record lows since this new presidency.
For China's part, they are lying about the severity of the situation in their country and the true death toll. They probably have the highest number of deaths in the world followed by the US.
Both China and Russia are trying to take advantage of the US's vulnerabilities during this pandemic with an idiot in the WH.

It is ironic that the 'report' relies on an agency that has a mandate to hack the very same targets for the very same reasons.
And a further irony that the purpose of the report is to discourage those trying to find ways to stop the pandemic as quickly as possible from doing the exact thing that will allow them to do so, openly sharing what they are doing, and what the results are.

Military hacking of other militaries is to be expected. Looking the other way for economic hacking/stealing trade secrets is completely different.

I was the one who mentioned Iraq. I was pointing out that Americans who think anything can be done to China in retaliation of this are ignorant of their own history, where they perpetuated an atrocity, intentionally, that lead to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians, and got off without having to take responsibility. The Americans are going to have to learn the lesson they taught to the world - that when a country is powerful enough, might makes right.
And for those who think more sanctions and trade wars with China is the way to go - yeah, that makes sense for restarting an economy in the middle of a global depression.
