Unfortunately, its the poorest nations around the world suffering the most because of the Whitehouse goon's repugnant attitute to climate change.

Nancy Pelosi will lead a 15-member congressional delegation to "reaffirm the commitment of the American people to combating the climate crisis."

What's the taxpayers' bill for this trip?

Unfortunately, its the poorest nations around the world suffering the most because of the Whitehouse goon's repugnant attitute to climate change.

I know this is a pesky fact for you but the U.S. is by far the world's biggest donor of foreign aid.

-24 ( +7 / -31 )

You’d think that when everything, yes everything we do is affected by the climate... that people might be a little more concerned about their effect on the climate in return.

7 ( +14 / -7 )

What's the taxpayers' bill for this trip?

Do they prefer the bill for consequences of more fires, floods, polluted air... ? It's not as if there was a different planet for Americans.

these things are beyond the power of humans to control.

If you believe you can't, you're always right. If you believe you can, even if you fail, you feel better for trying.

I know this is a pesky fact for you but the U.S. is by far the world's biggest donor of foreign aid.

You've heard on Fox News ? Of course, being a large country, in total, they give a lot and countries of the size of Lichtenstein or Monaco can't compete. In percentage of gross national income, with 0,15%, the US are of those that give the least. (Sweden gives back 1,41%). Per person, Americans give 95 USD when people of Norway give 800 USD... And lots of the money keeps going to countries the US has 'redesigned' , like Iraq or Vietnam.

The US of the 1940's were very different. Maybe cause they had not chosen as a leader a fat cat that only thinks about grabbing even more millions for his family and avoiding paying his bills and taxes.

14 ( +19 / -5 )

Well, Trump and co. won’t be around when the enraged mobs of terrified, starving citizens start lynching the climate-change facilitators and deniers. Why should they care?

Their children, though, might have a bit more to fear....

7 ( +12 / -5 )

Unfortunately, its the poorest nations around the world suffering the most because of the Whitehouse goon's repugnant attitute to climate change.

Then “their governments” in these poorest nations need to step up and should take the initiative and do something about to change that, it has nothing to do with us.

-17 ( +3 / -20 )

Do they prefer the bill for consequences of more fires, floods, polluted air... ? It's not as if there was a different planet for Americans.

Go talk to the world's biggest emitter of CO2, China.

I know this is a pesky fact for you but the U.S. is by far the world's biggest donor of foreign aid.

You've heard on Fox News ?

It's common knowledge. Look it up.

-14 ( +2 / -16 )

It does when you're pissing over your neighbours fence.

Oh, don’t make excuses for countries like India, Pakistan, China or even the Philippines. There governments could do plenty, to stop the....urination.

-8 ( +4 / -12 )

Go talk to the world's biggest emitter of CO2, China.

America. Never a leader.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

"U.S. is by far the world's biggest donor of foreign aid."

While true, most of this ends up being corporate welfare.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

America. Never a leader.

Now all of a sudden America should stick its nose in foreign world affairs? Will you all make up your minds!

-5 ( +5 / -10 )

Now all of a sudden America should stick its nose in foreign world affairs? Will you all make up your minds!

It directly concerns everyone on the planet... that includes America does it not?

2 ( +6 / -4 )

It directly concerns everyone on the planet... that includes America does it not?

Then we do what we think is right and the other countries leadership should step up and do what they think is right for their countries and not rely on us.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

Then we do what we think is right and the other countries leadership should step up and do what they think is right for their countries and not rely on us.

They are doing what they think is right with or without America... hence my earlier comment. America. Never a leader.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

They are doing what they think is right with or without America...

Good! Then they should do what they can, continue on that path and leave us alone.

hence my earlier comment. America. Never a leader.

Good!

The climate change deniers will, er, change their tune when the effects begin to impact on them. So far, it's the poorer countries experiencing the results of this crisis.

But when their ivory towers come under siege, the elite will finally realize that something has gone very wrong.

It will be too late, by then.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Then we do what we think is right and the other countries leadership should step up and do what they think is right for their countries and not rely on us.

You don't get it, do you?

You're part of the planet. Everyone has to step up. This is beyond the narrow confines of politics and nations. This is the future we bequeath to those who come after us.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Go talk to the world's second biggest emitter of CO2, America -- comment

Uh-huh. Keep believing that falsehood. Actually, India holds that claim to fame.

We've been doing our part to control CO2 emissions since the early 1990s when catalytic converters became a mandatory addition on all automobile engines (domestic and foreign) sold in the U.S.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

The climate change deniers will, er, change their tune when the effects begin to impact on them. So far, it's the poorer countries experiencing the results of this crisis.

Ok, but that doesn’t give the leadership and their governments a pass.

But when their ivory towers come under siege, the elite will finally realize that something has gone very wrong.

It will be too late, by then.

What?

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Ok, but that doesn’t give the leadership and their governments a pass.

The point is they’re trying whether or not they are able to succeed.

What?

Pretending to be elite?

Americans burn more energy per person than any other country. Electricity is twice that of Japanese

Of course, bigger population, bigger industries, take Las Vegas, the Hoover Dam, the Theme Parks and not to forget the country is open for business 24/7 in many fields, so it makes perfect sense.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

The air quality in Fukuoka is only moderate today, less than other locations. One location is very unhealthy for sensitive groups. Mizumamachi Tamamitsu, Kurume, Fukuoka. Funabashi in Chiba is unhealthy.

Well, I guess I won’t need to use my weather app, I’m deleting it, I’ll just ask you.

No nothing to do with population size.

Oh, yes it does, bigger carbon footprint.

Like I stated per person not per country. It does not make perfect sense. Your excuses are weak at best.

Ok, that’s your opinion.

You forgot to mention the California wild fires.

Yes, devastating, but California will manage, the State has money lots of it.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Pelosi, calling climate change "the existential threat of our time

Wrong. Socialism is the existential threat of our time. Climate change is nothing new. The Earth has been warming since the end of the Little Ice Age in the 1800’s. Cycles of cooling and warming are completely normal.

-8 ( +4 / -12 )

Go talk to the world's biggest emitter of CO2, China.

Per inhabitant, they emit half as what Americans do... and lots of it is by the factories that produce cheap crap sold and wasted in the States. Then, yes, I'm talking to everybody but some countries have more margins than others. I've travelled months in West China without seeing houses with heating or air-conditionning and nearly no personal cars, electricity was limited, hot water a few minutes a day. So that's not those hundred millions of people that can easily consume less. It's us in Japan, in Europe and in the US that need to lead the effort.

Look it up.

I did.

What the climate changers refuse to recognize is that even if humans went back to the Stone Age and stopped all burning of fossil fuels, the Earth's climate would still get warmer or colder depending on natural phenomena, just like it has for millions of years..

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

Pelosi, calling climate change "the existential threat of our time"

The Democrats are the biggest existential threat to the United States.

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

The US is led by an conspiracy theorist who among other idiotic trash believes climate change is a hoax created by the Chinese and it seems his VP thinks Jesus was preaching with dinosaurs running around.

Can you imagine either of these gibbering clowns believing stuff scientific consensus?

These imbeciles and the supporters of these imbeciles fed on a diet of brainless MSM trash like Fox News and conspiracy theorists are an existential threat to the health of this planet.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

What's the taxpayers' bill for this trip?

considerable less that the $40million in taxpayer funded trips to Trump golf resorts which the POTUS has profited greatly from, far more than the presidential salary he doesn't pay himself

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Wrong. Socialism is the existential threat of our time.

oh ok the US better stop all food stamps, farming subsidies, corporate subsidies, corportate tax breaks, welfare for the poor. well see how the US economy manages a couple years after these changes.

40million American cant even afford basic health insurance, basically if you get an illness like cancer , leukemia etc and cant afford the treatment , well you can die. land of the free indeed

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Not per person.

So now we’re a group? Interesting....

Unusual for you to actually defend California but will the environment manage? The state also suffers from a serious water drought.

But they have money, lots of it as Newsom constantly loves to brag about, they’ll be ok and so will you and me.

Norwegians are the world's largest consumer of electrical power. With a population of 5 million people, per person they use 24,006 kWh per year.

It’s cold, can’t blame them.

Compared with American with a population of 324 million they use 12,071kWh per person per year.

Now add that total up and you will have....

So in Norway they can have their cake and eat it.

But Texas has beautiful summers and California great beaches and better cake.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

So now we’re a group? Interesting...****.

well yes Trump is more than happy to lump Japan and other countries into one group when it comes to trade,

stating that he wants to balance the two way trade between japan and the US even if it means Japanese have to buy more than twice as much US goods per capita and vice versa. why does the US think its perfectly fine for them to produce far more CO2 per person , but the average Chinese its allowed to do the same!? Lets start lumping all the CO2 production of US goods made in China for the US market, convenient isnt it when you can buy cheap Chinese products but not the CO2 footprint that goes with it.

Trumpsters are like sheep jumping over a fence, they do it whenever the statistics dont show them what they want to see.

Trump cant get it into his head that the US will never be on a level playing field with China unless US workers want to take a massive pay cut, US manufacturing continues to decline and has done so even under Trump.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

What the climate changers refuse to recognize is that even if humans went back to the Stone Age and stopped all burning of fossil fuels, the Earth's climate would still get warmer or colder depending on natural phenomena, just like it has for millions of years..

What you refuse to recognize is that historical climate change has always had a cause. It doesn't do it just for fun, and it doesn't do it in a brisk century or so. There is always an underlying reason. And the reason for the current climate change has been proven to be human economic activity.

I understand that for you climate change science is a political choice; the people you hate understand it, so you therefore choose not to, but the rest of the world is trying to do something about it. So out of the way please.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Some posters don't seem to understand what per capita means.

Trump loves the poorly educated.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

Norwegians are the world's largest consumer of electrical power. With a population of 5 million people, per person they use 24,006 kWh per year.

yes theyre also the largest users of electric vehicles per capita also, as many charging facilities in Norway are free, you can understand their high electricity usage.

CC is the current pet cause/currency used to rabble rouse

and manipulate the masses.

A woman as wealthy as Pelosi ought to smile more,

lie, less.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

"Protect its interests," Trump-speak for do the bidding of the fossil fuel industry.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Regarding Norway, close to 100% of their electricity comes from clean energy, so it doesn't much matter how much they use per person.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

The climate change deniers should go back to their schools and ask for full tuition fee refund and a bit more.

All that education was a waste of time and money.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

While the Congress' concern on climate and environmental issues, is commendable, it is important that the Administration also take these concerns seriously.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Climate Conference as attendees fly in on their carbon producing jets.

It good to see some one in America can see these conferences are no an attempt to start a wealth transference scheme from the productive countries to the non productive.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Climate Conference as attendees fly in on their carbon producing jets.

So?

You people always say that as if it has some meaning.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

If America isn't prepared to help then stay the hell out of the way while the rest of the planet does something.

I’m sure they are listening and fearing those words.

The climate change deniers should go back to their schools and ask for full tuition fee refund and a bit more.

Yeah, I think so, because that’s all kids learn and nothing else, that’s why kids are dumber now then they were 20 years ago.

All that education was a waste of time and money.

I agree!

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

@Texas A&Amp;M Aggie,

We've been doing our part to control CO2 emissions since the early 1990s when catalytic converters became a mandatory addition on all automobile engines (domestic and foreign) sold in the U.S.

Laughably false. The catalytic converter became standard equipment on most new vehicles starting in 1975 and was mandatory by 1981 when it was fitted to vehicles for sale in the United States.

Additionally the United States government actively assisted American profiteers in spreading the use of highly toxic leaded petrol to foreign countries. This is despite the fact that the United States government officials knew from the start that lead is a potent neurotoxin with deadly effects on childhood development.

In 1932 the du Pont corporation, which held the patent for tetraethyl lead additive, supported Franklin Roosevelt’s presidential bid with a sizable contribution to his campaign fund. The Democratic Administration was swift to return the favor. A year after FDR’s inauguration, the Surgeon General would busy himself writing letters of introduction for Ethyl officials pushing tetraethyl leaded petrol to public health counterparts in foreign countries.

Now the full effects of using lead in petrol – surely the greatest ever mass poisoning experiment – are becoming clear, almost exactly 35 years after an award-winning Observer campaign caused it to be banned in Britain. They seem far worse than anyone imagined, and provide a stark warning against cutting pollution standards after Brexit. Last week, a massive new study concluded that lead is 10 times more dangerous than thought, and that past exposure now hastens one in every five US deaths. A global environmental disaster caused by the the greed and stupidity of the American government and American businessmen.

U.S. says it will 'protect its interests' at climate conference

If I lived in coastal Florida, my interests would be not drowning in a storm surge or being blown away in a hurricane. That would be more important to me that someone else's right to drive the all new Ford F-150 with 5.7 liters of all-American power.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Yeah, I think so, because that’s all kids learn and nothing else, that’s why kids are dumber now then they were 20 years ago.

Mmmm Errr, kids are not the deniers, some poorly educated adults are.

I agree

Time to file for a refund, they’ll do it a jiffy for Trumplets.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Mmmm Errr, kids are not the deniers,

No, because they’re being indoctrinated on a daily hour to hour basis.

some poorly educated adults are.

And are much, much happier and have less stress.

Time to file for a refund.

Why, I went to a private institution, my parents were the smart elderly.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Wake up people, we are starting into a mini ice age like we had a couple hundred years ago. It happens about every 170 years if we don't get into a new major ice age. It's getting colder and dryer. Look into jobs for that type climate. We might all be eating whale meat or caribou soon.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

No, because they’re being indoctrinated on a daily hour to hour basis.

They have access to information which helps them understand facts unlike the ones with closed minds who don’t have the capacity to do so.

and are much, happier and have less stress.

Considering how angry they are doesn’t seem so.

I went to a private institution

You’ve hit jackpot, that’ll be a big refund.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

And are much, much happier and have less stress

“Ignorance is bliss” as the saying goes.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

What's the taxpayers' bill for this trip?

considerable less that the $40million in taxpayer funded trips to Trump golf resorts

Have ye factored in median household income is at an all-time high while unemployment is at a near all-time low, with black and Hispanic unemployment at an all-time low?

Perspective, perspective.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Every sane country protects its interest. That is what governments are for.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

They have access to information which helps them understand facts unlike the ones with closed minds who don’t have the capacity to do so.

Ok, so teach them about climate change 24/7 and forgo every other subject. No wonder when Kimmel, Fallon, Watters go out in the streets and ask people the most basic of triva questions people can’t answer, but as long as they are aware about the climate, even if they can’t put on the table, take care of themselves and as long as they can be like Greta Thunberg it’s all worth it.

Considering how angry they are doesn’t seem so.

Yup, at Democrats, they have the right to be, judging by the economy, the smiles are from ear to ear.

 You’ve hit jackpot

Pretty much.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

How can we have been so stupid to have allowed them to do it.

There is no reset button. We can only try to limit the damage we have all caused.

Well, it was a good run, I need to party like it’s 1999 and according to AOC we’ll all be dead within a year.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Have ye factored in median household income is at an all-time high while unemployment is at a near all-time low, with black and Hispanic unemployment at an all-time low?

Mostly because of the Obama era policies.

Oh yeah, I forgot, this is still the Obama economy, it won't be the Trump economy until there's some downturn.

Yes, folks, we have Obama to thank for the tax cuts and rollback of economy-stifling regulations fueling the economic boom. Wait... omg, actually that was Trump and the Republicans!

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Mostly because of the Obama era policies?

Yeah and The US became a Superpower because of Poland.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Yes, folks, we have Obama to thank for the tax cuts and rollback of economy-stifling regulations fueling the economic boom. Wait... omg, actually that was Trump and the Republicans!

Obama was a liberal who embraced Conservative policies which is what Trump’s policies are based on.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

No wonder when Kimmel, Fallon, Watters go out in the streets and ask people the most basic of triva questions people can’t answer, but as long as they are aware about the climate, even if they can’t put on the table, take care of themselves and as long as they can be like Greta Thunberg it’s all worth it.

Confusing entertainment for news is what separates Faux fans from the rest. Comedians do what they are good at, making people laugh. News channels do what they are good at, report news, and then there is Faux, not so smart comedians pretending to be news reporters!!!!

Yup, at democrats

People who bully children online because they speak the truth are not just angry, they are mentally disturbed.

Pretty much

Glad you agree that your education was a failure!!!
