Isn't Obama pulling the troops out in 2011? If so, why should Canada stay.
Bring the boys back home, Mr. Harper.
Use the money to prop up your crumbling national healthcare system.

Canada will probably remain involved but not in a combat mission. Only a transport mission from what I hear from friends in the Canadian Forces.
SushiSake3
Senator John McCain? Why should anyone take this faux 'hero' seriously?
some14some
Why not suggest a replacement, Canda out - India in !
Elbuda Mexicano
I think India is already in, not officially but India does not need Pakistan nor Iran etc..to have too much influence in Afghanistan and a while back some India road construction workers were killed by the Taliban, my guess, Taliban supported by somebody in Pakistan, so maybe Canada can come and help in Mexico, we need the help.

Good thing O'Donnell was defeated... she said Canada WASN'T in Afghanistan! haha.

Didn't Obama says the troops are leaving Afghanistan?
MisterCreosote
Her opponent, a self-described " bearded Marxist", probably rues the Soviets' defeat there.

I doubt it. More likely he rues the US jumping into this and other wars on poor intelligence (or no intelligence if you look at the last government). Regardless, at least he can point to it on a map; I doubt O'Donnell could, being the dolt she is.
Anyway, hopefully Canada will stay on, at least in some capacity. It might help if the US doesn't bomb them, too.

I hope Canada pulls out. no need for Canadians to die for the American corporatist/republican party agenda
UnagiDon
Canada will be pulling out combat forces (but staying on with development and training of Afghan security forces) and this is because Harper leads a minority government and had to agree to this pullout to stay in power. Anyone with even a passing knowledge of Canadian politics (i.e. neither McCain, Graham, or most of the commentators here) would have been aware of that.

Canada needs to keep the border with the US open to trade; they will stay.

SushiSake3: "Senator John McCain? Why should anyone take this faux 'hero' seriously?"
The man was shot down and spent several years in a North Vietnamese prison. And you?
SushiSake3
Sarge, you forgot to mention he wrote off 5-6 aircraft, dropped bombs on defenceless civilians, and that his his own father had no qualms authorizing the bombing of the area where his son was languishing in prison due in no small part to his own stupidity.
I'd rather not believe the 'hero' myths about this guy.

The smarter pilots came back.

So off the mark, proxy.
Do you think the US will close its border to Canada if Canada were not to stay in Afghanistan?
In any case, the fact that those senators want Canada to stay on should be warning enough that Canada should in fact be leaving poste-haste~
UnagiDon
proxy;
Yes but you're missing half of that story, the US needs the keep the border with Canada open to trade, as Canada is still the US' largest trading partner (you do know trade flows two ways, don't you?) and the US' biggest supplier of fossil fuels.
SuperLib
It's pretty amazing that people are still listing off ways that one country can screw the other when all it really points to is that no one can win with that kind of thinking.
proxy
jianadaren No, not close the border just put up as many roadblocks as possible on everything except oil and make crossing the border even harder.

Sushisake3,
I decided to check on the man's history after reading your post. You obviously need a new dictionary. Politics completely aside, McCain can certainly be considered a hero by it purest definition. His actions, especially while a POW, are definitely those of a hero. Rest your hate a bit, please.
TimRussert
What is a "corporatist"? I doubt you can even define this. Can you name exactly who you are talking about? Shouldn't the big tough Lefty nihilist act include a little naming and shaming? Obama escalated troop numbers in Afghanistan. Has he bought into the "Republican agenda"?
