war is nice business for a few but brings misery to many.

US gives another massive amount and Russian soldiers are packing up and leaving because they aren’t getting paid or given any kind of break. If Russia really wanted to win this, why didn’t they finance it properly? My guess is they can’t.

where is this money coming from?

Haaa Nemui - I would tend to agree. Russia can afford plenty, but others can afford more. A lot more. Numbers below from the dawn of the invasion:

According to Investopedia’s rankings, at $1.48 trillion nominal GDP, Russia has the 11th largest economy in the world, and only represents 1.31 percent of the world’s economy. It’s nominal GDP per capita is $10,126.*

> The United States, by contrast, has a nominal GDP of $20.89 trillion—roughly 14 times the size of Russia’s economy. And nominal GDP per capita is $63,413.

Even three U.S. states have larger GDPs than Russia: California ($3.1 trillion), Texas ($1.78 trillion) and New York ($1.7 trillion). Note that California has more than twice the GDP of Russia.

There’s more. Russia’s efforts in Ukraine are being challenged by all of the developed economies, especially the European Union in alliance with the United States. So it’s worth looking at the EU’s combined economic strength: about $15.28 trillion.

Add the U.S. and EU GDPs and you get about $35 trillion, more than 40 percent of the world GDP.

Wow, i ask the same question. Where do they get all these money from? All kinds of money pledged for all kinds of domestic initiatives, chips act, EV acts etc etc. Then, all these pledges for the conflict in Europe.

OKuniyoshi - we have a lot to work with. Our economy is the largest the world has ever seen. Our annual defense budget is about 50% of Russia's entire GDP. People forget this.

so yeah basically money that could be used for something else that is actually beneficial for the taxpayers whose money it is.

Blacklabel - I feel that what we are doing is beneficial and I am a US taxpayer.

America spent $14 trillion to win the Cold War,

If Putin isn’t stopped now, it will cost a way lot more later.

The west knows this is their best chance to be rid of Putin.

Are you going through another of your fiscal prudence phases?

How much do you think America should give?

I managed to get $2 Billion plus a load of jets out of Bass a few weeks back

Such a pity Putin started this war. But then reports from pro Russian sources indicate he is getting even richer.

Mysteries regarding the deaths of nine very high profile Russian business men in mere months. Perhaps they were anti war. Even behind closed doors that is dangerous for your health in Russia.

Putin's war in Ukraine is for his profit and for the misery of families of the dead in both Russia and Ukraine. What a horrid little man.

How much do you think America should give

the same amount Dems gave to secure OUR own border. Except that, Dems and Hollywood types can donate their own money if they wish.

Good - send more....

The Ukrainians have Putin's troops on the run - or maybe more like they're running away...

The Putin Fanboys here are in meltdown...their second-favorite dictator is getting humiliated on the battlefield...

While their favorite dictator will soon be indicted for obstruction of justice....

ROFL....

the same amount Dems gave to secure OUR own border.

And how much is that? It's such hard work to get an actual figure or commitment from some posters. They seem very reluctant to be specific. It's almost as if they don't actually know, but know that what the 'Dems' give is automatically wrong.

Except that, Dems and Hollywood types can donate their own money if they wish.

Odd way of funding things. Sort of like Mexicans paying for big American walls.

Taxes get spent on things, not everybody likes it. At least the government wasn’t shut down, wasting even more money, to get this money approved.

I don’t think the only people supporting Ukraine are ‘Dems and Hollywood types’ but if simplifying it in such a way helps you somehow I guess it’s harmless.

’Securing the border’ comes from taxes. Not just ‘Dems’, you know US tax payers.

And yes. I know I’m not one but I’ll state my opinion all the same thanks.

And how much is that?

The number of billion of dollars that matches the number of times been to our own border. Zero.

So you mean any number between zero and a dollar less than one billion dollars.

If you complain about something it helps to know what that something is.

This is getting weirder, but I guess we eventually have reached the sum of 'Zero', so that's something.

Unfortunately for Putin they are getting much, much more. This is obviously good news for everyone, but bad news for the Republicans. And for that man who convinced you that Putin was an nice, honest guy.

Blatantly off-topic. This article isn't about our southern border or "Hollywood types"....

All we need is a Hunter mention and we'll hit the off-topic trifecta...
