So, not until after the elections.

Kind of makes sense - as an ex president, he won't be above the law anymore.

It will be joyous to see him spend the rest of his days either in jail, or trying to avoid it.

The government already has President Trump’s tax records. The Internal Revenue Service. And they apparently are in order.

-19 ( +1 / -20 )

President Donald Trump must hand over his tax returns

Didn't Trump promise he'd turn them over? What's he hiding this time, and who besides himself, his family and his syndicate, plus others around the globe and in the US is he also trying to protect.

13 ( +14 / -1 )

This is really an attempt by the antiTrump media to spin negative stories like they did with the Russian collusion hoax

Why do you want to protect this criminal?

14 ( +15 / -1 )

they apparently are in order.

if they're in order he'd have no reason NOT to show them.

he antiTrump media

If there is such a thing as anti-Trump media it's probably balanced by the pro-Trump media. Isn't a free, for-profit press great? Could you imagine living in China, Iran etc. where the state controls media, or in Russia where the state has 'partial' control.

Russian collusion hoax.

Those who believe the Kremlin and global far right media might still think Russia's continued interference in US and other 'western' nation's politics is a hoax.

Guess Trump and his clan will have the shredders in full operation.

What doesn't exist can be judged.

Or he's gonna deny any knowledge and blame it (as usual) on others.

And of course always using the same words: not fair, witch hunt, the far left ....

.... guess his (not only but also) vocabulary is pretty limited!

Biden won’t win, but in Trump’s second term they may in some form be released, but the Democrats know they have a very steep battle to climb up, because Trump will fight this so it’ll be a long time before anything is released, could be before the election, but realistically after he’s in his second term.

-20 ( +1 / -21 )

@Blacklabel and @bass4funk

you really don’t get it. And in fact bass saying “Trump will fight this” indicates that you know he has something to hide.

Both of you clearly hate America so much you are both aiding and abetting criminal activity purely for partisan ends. You are not patriots, you are partisans. Bad choice.

He has so much dirty laundry to hide, this is a great first step in seeing this criminal get his just desserts.

The nation's top court ruled 7-2 against Trump in a case brought by Manhattan district attorney Cyrus Vance, a Democrat who is seeking eight years of the president's financial records in connection with an alleged "hush money" payment made to porn actress Stormy Daniels.

Both of the conservative justices appointed by Trump -- Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh -- joined Chief Justice John Roberts in rejecting the sweeping claim by Trump's attorneys that the president enjoyed absolute immunity.

This will cause Trump supporters brains to lock - Trump's two appointees; Kavanaugh and Gorsuch, voted against him. Just like all the rest, I guess they'll be soon labeled "wackos and backstabbers"...

We'll soon see those tax returns with the Deutsche Bank loans that are merely Russian oligarch funneled money - just as Don Jr and Eric admitted in 2014; "We get all the money we need from Russia"...

https://thehill.com/homenews/news/332270-eric-trump-in-2014-we-dont-rely-on-american-banks-we-have-all-the-funding-we

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Trump lovers need to understand that he tried to stack the SCOTUS in his favor with Gorsuch and Kavanaugh, but they ruled against him in this case. Apart from the obvious, that's one of the reasons why baby man is raving. Next stop after the WH will be SDNY in front of a grand jury.

12 ( +13 / -1 )

Its fine by me. Just nothing is being "hidden". that implies illicit intent, rather than the actual term which is "unreleased".

-13 ( +1 / -14 )

Just nothing is being "hidden". that implies illicit intent, rather than the actual term which is "unreleased".

Lololol of course it's being hidden. Donald doesn't believe in oversight. Donald doesn't believe rules apply to him, which is precisely why he's not releasing them. This is totally normal, it's what people with nothing to hide do ;)

11 ( +12 / -1 )

This is about PROSECUTORIAL MISCONDUCT," he tweeted.

ROFL, conservative judges voted to open trump’s taxes to prosecutors and its PROSECUTORIAL MISCONDUCT.

The GOP needs to figure out a way for trump to withdraw before he becomes more of an embarrassment.

15 ( +15 / -0 )

Only the racist followers of tump can think that hiding something from the American public is good.

Its hilarious to watch trump tweet nonstop, he’s running scared.

14 ( +15 / -1 )

Just proves once again that all the liberal hysteria over appointment of "conservative" judges is overhyped.

Unlike the liberal side of the court, the conservative members seem to be able to put politics aside and make what they feel is the judgment the law supports. thats a good thing.

-16 ( +1 / -17 )

The president was fuming that his SCOTUS picks didn't defend him.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

From the White House to Rikers Island? Mr. Vance and the AG of New York might have enough evidence to file charges by January 2021. The best part is a future Republican President can't pardon a conviction in a state court. Only the governor of the state in question can do that. Might see some family members in the slam too.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

@Blacklabel

Trump said he’d release his tax returns like all presidents have done for near half a century and then said he wouldn’t. This at the very least is dishonest.

I think the word ‘hidden’ does the job just fine.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

"The government already has President Trump’s tax records. The Internal Revenue Service. And they apparently are in order."

You do not know that to be true or not since the returns have not been released

"BTW, this also opens up permission to find out why Pelosi is worth $100 million on a career government salary."

Their family wealth has never been a mystery. Her husband owns a venture capital firm named "Financial Leasing Services", some commercial buildings and a vinyard. He made profitable investments in Apple, Facebook, Disney and Comcast among others. Nothing sinister. She entered politics in 1987 winning a special election to fill the seat of Sala Burton after her death. Her only work since has been in the US House of Representatives. Her Federal retirement maxes out at 80% of her highest annual income. Her husband is the well known source of their families wealth.

"So, not until after the elections.

Kind of makes sense - as an ex president, he won't be above the law anymore.

It will be joyous to see him spend the rest of his days either in jail, or trying to avoid it."

It would be poetic justice to see him implode in the manner of his mentor Roy Cohn. It would also be fitting if The Wharton School pulled his degree for having a ringer take the SAT for him and for his sister doing his homework.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

Even Brett Kavanaugh ruled against the man-child who must be fuming even more now. I worry the man-child may burst a vein before the elections.

At the same time, Trump is relieved that the Dems won’t see his records until probably after his re-election so he is on safe ground which makes the Democrats fume.

-14 ( +1 / -15 )

At the same time, Trump is relieved that the Dems won’t see his records until probably after his re-election so he is on safe ground which makes the Democrats fume.

Amen, Brother. Totally innocent men are always relieved when evidence of their crimes are hidden. ;) Seriously, why continue defending the indefensible? You're speaking from both sides of your mouth here.

14 ( +14 / -0 )

Its fine by me. Just nothing is being "hidden". that implies illicit intent, rather than the actual term which is "unreleased".

Uh, when someone says over 16 times "I will release my tax returns", then doesn't do that?

They might be hiding something...

https://money.cnn.com/2017/04/17/news/donald-trump-tax-returns/index.html

Like Russian loans...just like Don Jr and Eric admitted to...

*James Dodson during an interview Friday with Boston’s WBUR described meeting Donald Trump in 2014 and being invited to play golf at the Trump National Golf Club Charlotte. He said asked Donald Trump how he was paying for his courses, and the now-president “sort of tossed off that he had access to $100 million,” Dodson said in the interview. Dodson said he then questioned Eric Trump, who was along for the day. "I said, 'Eric, who’s funding? I know no banks — because of the recession, the Great Recession — have touched a golf course. "And this is what he said. He said, 'Well, we don’t rely on American banks. *We have all the funding we need out of Russia.'

Trump’s on Twitter wailing about being harassed.

He said he’d release his tax returns, then didn’t, and is now throwing his potty around because he’s being forced to do something he said he’d do.

It’s pathetic.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

When "winning" means being able to keep your financial records out of the public eye for the time being, what does that say about you?

2020..............Defeated

2021.................Indicted

2022...................Incarcerated

11 ( +11 / -0 )

MAGA chuds: The police should have all-powerful stop and search powers. If you've done nothing wrong, you've got nothing to hide.

Non-cultists: Let's see the President's tax returns.

MAGA chuds: No.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

This will help historians to explain what Donald Trump was all about for future generations.

The truth shall set you free.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Trump is hiding his taxes. SCOTUS should demand the taxes of the president be public, today. The one guy you don't want to be a tax liar is the president, and he lies about everything.

When the landslide win by Biden occurs, Trump's illegal activities, and there will be a mountain of them, will come to light, as the presidency will no longer protect him. Biden will show his taxes from day one, to begin reversing the ubiquitous illegal presidential activity of Trump.

He'll be known as the worst president in the history of the United States, a one termer who lost the election to a rather poor Democrat candidate in Biden, because of his own stupidity and ridiculous behavior, leading to an opening of his skeletons in his closet, made public because he wanted to be the autocratic leader of America.

When all is said and done, Trump will be revealed for the fool, he is. Right there, and lower in public opinion, with Epstein, Stone, and all the conservative liars he has associated with.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

Just proves once again that all the liberal hysteria over appointment of "conservative" judges is overhyped.

Trump sure hires poorly. No wonder his casinos went bankrupt. He can't even hire loyal judges just like he can't hire a good staff to run a casino without running it into the ground. If I were a Trump person I would be very mad at these Trump judges.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

At the same time, Trump is relieved that the Dems won’t see his records until probably after his re-election so he is on safe ground which makes the Democrats fume.

ROFL , trump is anything but relieved. He’s been whining continuously since the judgement.

Not a surprise to see his racist followers desperately trying to squeeze a few drops of victory from a resounding defeat!!!

9 ( +9 / -0 )

A man holds a sign outside the Supreme Court - FOLLOW THE MONEY

Exactly. Where does your contributions to Black Lives Matter go? Democratic Party groups.

Instead of focusing on serving the American people the Democrats are still focused on bring down Trump.

-14 ( +0 / -14 )

Trump is relieved that the Dems won’t see his records until probably after his re-election so he is on safe ground

So you agree that there is something dodgy about Trump's tax records? Something that would put him on unsafe ground if they got out?

Instead of focusing on serving the American people the Democrats are still focused on bring down Trump.

Same thing?

Invalid CSRF

11 ( +11 / -0 )

everyone totally ignoring that the Supreme Court also said Dems in Congress cant have the tax returns.

Which is the only way they would ever get illegally leaked, which is the political goal. No one will be leaking them from a grand jury, if the grand jury even ever gets them. Plus this assumes there is even anything "bad" in there, which there likely isnt.

-13 ( +0 / -13 )

bass4funk:

Trump is relieved

Relieved? He didn't look it when he was speaking to reporters about it. He had his arms crossed - he does that when he's sulking.

13 ( +13 / -0 )

Exactly. Where does your contributions to Black Lives Matter go? Democratic Party groups.

So?

Instead of focusing on serving the American people the Democrats are still focused on bring down Trump.

Probably revenge for Trump trying to spread the rumor that Obama was born in Kenya. As Trump says in the the Apprentice, you can't be nice to people who are not nice to you. Live with it!!

So you agree that there is something dodgy about Trump's tax records?

Maybe dodgy, definitely embarrassing, but not illegal (don't forget that lots of IRS people have access to his records but they cannot reveal secrets just like a lawyer). It will be funny when it happens. He won't be impeached about it. But it will show he lies about his true wealth and success (compared to a real successful Billionaire like Bill Gates)

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Plus this assumes there is even anything "bad" in there, which there likely isnt.

Only one way to find out.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Another watershed moment for Trump. The beginning of the end. A turning point. The moment of truth. The final nail in the coffin for his presidency ;-)

3 ( +5 / -2 )

"blacklabel",

" ....... they would ever get illegally leaked ......"

Me just waiting for a whistle blower, happened before, can (or will??) happen again.

And then Trump will be in deep kimchi!!!

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Hehehe. Did you see the look on his face at the press conference! Hehehe.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

Plus this assumes there is even anything "bad" in there, which there likely isnt.

If that's true what you say, then after promising over 16 times to release them, why hasn't he?

A man holds a sign outside the Supreme Court - FOLLOW THE MONEY

Exactly. Where does your contributions to Black Lives Matter go? Democratic Party groups.

Well, we know where lots of that government bailout money that was supposed to go to small business and those unemployed went to...

MAJOR DONORS to President Donald Trump’s presidential reelection campaign have won coveted loans from the Paycheck Protection Program, the new government effort to provide a lifeline to small businesses under duress because of the coronavirus pandemic. The largest known recipient of small business rescue money has been a set of luxury hotels run by Archie Bennett and his son Monty Bennett. The pair have obtained over $59 million in PPP funds for Ashford Hospitality Trust and Braemar Hotels & Resorts, holding companies used to own and manage a range of hotels, including the Ritz-Carlton in St. Thomas. The father and son are also megadonors who have given nearly half a million dollars to Trump since 2016 and over $1.3 million to GOP politicians and groups in recent years.

Instead of focusing on serving the American people the Democrats are still focused on bring down Trump.

The 132K Americans that are dead wish President Trump had been focusing on protecting them instead of on statues, the Confederate Flag and fake nooses...

6 ( +6 / -0 )

So you agree that there is something dodgy about Trump's tax records? Something that would put him on unsafe ground if they got out?

I don’t think so, I don’t think there’s anything dodgy that could hurt the president in this election cycle, because if there’s anything that you need it all is from before he was president, so it really doesn’t have any bearing at all, now having said that that doesn’t mean the Democrats still would use it to throw pot shots at the president, of course I would if I were them and in that sense, I understand why the president wouldn’t want his tax records released, but it seems at this point that he doesn’t have to worry, the Democrats and their minions won’t get the grimy mitts on them just yet.

-12 ( +0 / -12 )

Just like anything else. Dems just need some reason to claim they have seen the documents then they can create any false story they want.

just like when Schiff said he saw “proof” of Russian collusion but the public couldn’t see the docs until 3 years later to know he was lying.

luckily grand juries don’t have supposed “whistleblowers” so no one can claim anything false.

-12 ( +0 / -12 )

More important that SDNY gets access than Congress, which isn't capable of acting on them in the time he has left in office. This way, he will be indicted when he leaves office in January, and the public will find out why at that point.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

I don’t think there’s anything dodgy that could hurt the president

Not hurt him criminally (If it existed he would have been arrested a long time before running for president). It would just show that he is a phony. Try to remember that when it comes to property families in NYC, he is ranked about number 5 and his tax records will show that he is faking his wealth. But nothing criminal.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

And your sources are ?

Guaranteed you won't get an answer from that poster.

The bigots who support Trump know darn well he's hiding something. But they're fine with that. Fine with the corruption, the lies, the racism, the thousands of deaths under his "leadership".

Nothing stays hidden forever.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Instead of focusing on serving the American people the Democrats are still focused on bring down Trump

They brought him down.

PINO.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Whatever you think of Trump, you have to admit saying he’d release his tax returns, later refusing to do so, and then Tweeting he’s running the most transparent administration in history is top quality trolling.

Hall of fame stuff. An absolute beauty.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

The pressure should be maintained. Eventually, he'll crack. The truth will out, and/or he'll be declared unfit to lead. From the FT in May:

“Trump is caught in a box which keeps getting smaller,” says George Conway, a Republican lawyer who is married to Kellyanne Conway, Trump’s senior counsellor. “In my view he is a sociopath and a malignant narcissist. When a person suffering from these disorders feels the world closing in on them, their tendencies get worse. They lash out and fantasise and lose any ability to think rationally.” Conway is known for taunting Trump on Twitter ...

.... Yet without exception, everyone I interviewed, including the most ardent Trump loyalists, made a similar point to Conway. Trump is deaf to advice, said one. He is his own worst enemy, said another. He only listens to family, said a third. He is mentally imbalanced, said a fourth. America, in other words, should brace itself for a turbulent six months ahead – with no assurance of a safe landing.*
4 ( +4 / -0 )

If he's innocent and clean, then he has nothing to hide and his tax records will show this.

He doesn't want his tax records shared, therefore he has something to hide. He's not innocent and clean.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

He might be hiding something that could be true but it has nothing to do with him being president,

If what he is hiding compromises the country, then he shouldn't be the president.

it doesn’t mean that the Democrats the scoundrels they are wouldn’t use that to their advantage.

Wouldn't matter to the racist scoundrels, nothing is too bad for them!!

4 ( +4 / -0 )

when they are the ones that allowed this catastrophe for the last month to happen

No, this is on Trump's watch, especially with TrumpCare and Trump recommending injecting Mr. Clean. Even China is beating Trump in the COVID-19 fight.

I will submit to you it’ll only worsen.

It can't because the US is at about the bottom of the CV fight and Trump is the captain of this crashing plane, especially with no competent leadership. better stay safe in Japan

2 ( +2 / -0 )

If what he is hiding compromises the country, then he shouldn't be the president.

If we go by that, then no one can serve in office.

Wouldn't matter to the racist scoundrels, nothing is too bad for them!!

All the more reasons why Democrats shouldn’t get the White House, exactly!

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

He might be hiding something that could be true but it has nothing to do with him being president,

It's revenge for investigating Hillary and Obama's birth certificate. It's payback and Trump will have to suck it up. But it will be embarrassing when his financial records are finally revealed. Is Trump really smart? He paid someone to take his SAT test.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Scotus has finally and fortunately put the kibosh on Potus. Trump, aided and abetted by Billy Barr, the most corrupt and venal Agus in the history of the republic, and shyster-for-hire, Giuliani, will soon be forced to close down the brazen racket of his "Three-card Monte" presidency. American democracy is still in the safe hands of the Southern District of New York which will dispense the long-awaited justice the Trump Crime Family so richly deserves, and it won't be handing out any "Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free cards to the miscreants who have dragged the Constitution through the mud and besmirched the reputation of the USA in the eyes of the world.
