Your grandmother didn't ask for formula to feed her babies, why should you?

why we have the supply chain issues, not because of Biden. Please

We only have supply chain issues for formula? No, right?

this is new? No it’s been going on nearly the entire Biden presidency.

did we have this problem during “the last guy”? Nope it was Americans first we had everything we needed without begging the world to export to us.

man, truth is so inconvenient to the stories people want to tell.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

I don’t know. Do you?

Yes I do know. Because they are fully stocked while Americans have none.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

All these "guys" here telling women to breast feed. What a joke!

3 ( +4 / -1 )

They have a plentiful stock for the border that was planned for months in advance, don’t they?

Yes, for the kids in facilities they run. While we can debate the necessity of the facilities they run, they should certainly be expected to provide food/formula for kids under their remand. But that isn't the same thing as purchasing, and then distributing massive amounts of formula for individual households.

I’m not responsible for stocking it. because much later after I didn’t buy it because I was unaware of the situation when I should have been,

lol What, is it the government's job to stock formula for individual households? This is a silly argument.

some portion of some formula was found to be tainted.*

It isn't "some portion," though. It's a lot, which is why we have the supply chain issues, not because of Biden. Please.

The lack of formula -- the result of a perfect storm of supply chain issues and a massive recall -- is leaving parents increasingly desperate,

Love the posters who pipe up with indignation about a nation taking action to help its populace directly and whining about fiscal responsibility.

They never utter a sound at the daily article about quantitative easing and companies recapitalizing their businesses from the taxpayer dole.

N.B. Posing as a frustrated billionaire will not make you rich.

not me! Keep passing that buck.

As for using military planes to transport the stuff, ............................

You obviously didn't get as far as reading the FIRST sentence of the article!

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Because 54 billion world buy a lot of formula on the market months ago.

Lol what? You're complaining the government didn't but up gobs of formula several months ago? First off, this is big government. Very odd thing for a conservative to say.

Second off, having the government buy up formula several months ago wouldn't have changed anything, especially when considering the shortage was caused by labor shortages, and a company recall of formula. What, the government should have bought a ton of tainted formula? And give it to babies? I should think not

Adamant that his administration has been working on this for”several months”.

will be month or two more to procure from overseas, inspect, ship and get to non marginalized communities last.

yay!

Hagerty and Paul recently voiced their concern for the poor children of America. Check in with them and see what they’ve been planning.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Because 54 billion world buy a lot of formula on the market months ago.

because less focus on Ukraine means more focus on things actual Americans care about.

ukraine was not even in top 12 in Pew researching of things Americans are concerned about.

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

How pathetic this President has become.

compared to the 20million lost jobs worst recession in 70yrs and record 7.8trillion deficit from the last guy,

hes doing pretty well in the middle of worldwide inflation .

13 ( +15 / -2 )

We have to import baby formula. While giving away 54 billion dollars.

Lol These two things have nothing to do with each other.

I'd love to hear why people think the government giving money to Ukraine has anything to do with private industry causing a shortage of baby formula. It's laughable.

Once again, if you look at any problem long enough you will see the government as the root cause.

Amen.

Virtually all the news one reads is a story of government making things worse than it otherwise would be.

At least we don’t live in China or North Korea or Russia, but we sure could do so much better by having less government meddling and interference in our various affairs.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

A 6 month late solution to a problem you caused gets praise now?

Didn’t say that. I said he’s doing something now instead of complaining about it. Unlike you.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Doing something and looking for a solution instead of looking for blame?

An airlift of baby formula?

is this any level of acceptable and competent leadership??

Doing something and looking for a solution instead of looking for blame?

Yeah, I’d say that pretty much defines competent leadership.

Would you prefer he tweet about it?

Speaking of the food shortages, the EU offered Russia a deal to unblock Ukraine grain exports and unsanction Russian fertilizer. The Russians said "no thank you".

The Russians? Did they vote on it?

I think one or two people said no and ‘The Russians’ will have to live with it.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

After knowing about this problem for SIX MONTHS, this is the best the Adminstration can come up with? Pathetic. Just shows to go you how out of touch the Democratic party actually is from 'real' Americans and their problems. It reminds me of the great solution given by the Transportation Secretary to the problem of high gas prices- "just buy an electric car!". Tone deaf doesn't begin to describe it.

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

to speed the importation of safe infant formula into the United States and onto store shelves,"

We have to import baby formula. While giving away 54 billion dollars.

pathetic.

-7 ( +6 / -13 )

Beiden could have solved the issue in no time just by calling on mothers to breastfeeding their babies.

You think if the mothers have milk that will not occur to them without Biden telling them?

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Hope they find a formula for this problem soonest

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Beiden could have solved the issue in no time just by calling on mothers to breastfeeding their babies.

But for a mother to wait for such a call to do what's right and urgent for her baby makes her motherhood very questionable.

How pathetic this President has become.

-10 ( +5 / -15 )

Actually, the people who don't know what they're talking about are the ones who take their own anecdotal story and apply across the entire civilization.

The overwhelming majority of mothers can breast feed.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

As for using military planes to transport the stuff, at least that's a better use for them as opposed to some idiotic war or the vainglorious exercises that what Joe refers to as 'my predecessor' did,

yes he did 68 marines died under Trumps presidency in Afganistan, Biden got AMerica out, not before Trump released 5000 taliban prisoners', who went straight back to the Taliban. yes these are the facts that republican's will never bring up, Trump just lied about it in his last magaloid rally

10 ( +17 / -7 )

As for using military planes to transport the stuff, at least that's a better use for them as opposed to some idiotic war or the vainglorious exercises that what Joe refers to as 'my predecessor' did, such as dropping gas bombs at migrants at the border in violation of foreign sovereign airspace.

Difficulty with reading comprehension? Really now, just pushing an anti-Biden agenda, and it makes you look pretty bad, when you can even understand what was written!

No military planes are being used!

Apparently people have forgotten that females can breast feed their babies.

Females are designed for it, and their milk offers protection to the baby for short and long term illnesses and diseases. Breast fed babies have lower instances of obesity, diabetes, asthma and sudden infant death (SID).

It also helps the mother reduce weight after her pregnancy.

Cripes, you have no idea what the hell you are talking about! There is NO blanket answer for every child, and it's obvious that you dont know that many women stop producing breast milk at varying times and formula is the ONLY option.

You sound like you took a page out of "breast feeding 101" and are just pushing an agenda you have no idea about!

My wife breast fed all three of our children, BUT they all stopped, as her breast milk stopped flowing at varying times, and we HAD to have formula!

6 ( +12 / -6 )

It must be because there is a baby boom taking place since so many people are working from home. Some people are calling them "coronials" NOT!

so proud of this very competent administration! can't wait for 2024

Yes, indeed, Biden is having to fix a disaster caused by the private sector, from the product recalls to the supply chain foul ups leading to retailers' shelves. This is one reason we have governments - to step in when private business messes things up and poses dangers to society.

> RecklessToday  12:52 pm JST

If you got a tit full of milk, pop it out.

some babies have collock and need formula. Breast milk isn't good enough.

-4 ( +6 / -10 )

No mention of where they intend purchasing additional baby formula from.

China imports a huge amount from Australia and New Zealand. I wonder if the US is planning on doing the same.

oh so how is contamination by US biggest baby formula manufacturer Bidens fault,

or Texas governor border stunt stopping all trucks entering the US for inspections, resulting in a $50billion loss for his states and more for the rest of America. Now Mexica is making their rail line through new mexico , lol. Or the democrats trying to put through a price gouging panel investigation into the oil companies, and every single Republican voted against it, because they cant pee off their owners oops donors. republicans

are doing everything in their power to make the situation worse, and the dumbos that vote for them think theyll fix anything if theyre voted back in. lol

exactly! kudos to mr. Joe, his easter bunny handler or whoever is handling this situation

-5 ( +8 / -13 )

The United States relies on domestic producers for 98 percent of the baby formula it consumes.

Wow.

Has the US administration never heard of full and complete free trade?

Even foreigners feed babies, but US babies have unique needs that leads to 98 percent being domestically produced… except now when the government has called in flights to bring in formula from abroad… huh? Suddenly the foreign produced stuff is good enough?

NotSo HungOver

Some on Social Media are also blaming COVID vaccinations on curtailing the ability to produce Breast Milk - fact or fiction I have no idea. Anyone know ?

Fiction.

14 ( +19 / -5 )

Not mentioned in this article, one of the main contributing factors was dangerous and potentially fatal bacteria found in one of the US biggest baby formula manufacturers. The CDC is trying its hardest to allow the contaminated product back on the market.

I feel sorry for these families.
