Better late than too late. Get them out of there! We can clean up the paperwork in Guam orwherever.

The interpreters, some have been waiting over 2 yrs, need to be put on a priority list. The paperwork they need to prove they were interpreters for the US/Coalition are also used by Taliban to try/convict and execute them and their families.

It isn't like the interpreters don't have military people willing to stand up as character witnesses.

Get them out, NOW!

And when they arrive in the US, then need more than to be dropped off at a homeless shelter. I bet the soldiers would be willing to help them for a few weeks/months if they can. Officers who spent time over there would probably make room in their homes.

Voting for president Biden was one of the best decisions of my life.

This is good, especially to those who helped our armed forces. They deserve a fresh start here.

Americans have always done this when they've lost a war. This is why so many Vietnamese and Cambodians live in my hometown. And to the extent they have enriched the culture and economy of the area cannot be underemphasized.

Of course... what they see is Democrat voters.

Don't worry buddy, democrats don't need 20k afghans to win elections.

What's life going to be like for all of the Afghans left behind?

Will women be treated like dogs again? Will the children be allowed to play as they like? Will the soccer stadium become the public execution grounds again?

Is this the right thing to do or abandonment? Was there a better way than this?

To look away from this country and see its people living under these violent religious fanatics seems too cruel.

This is like the ltngthy worthless Vietnam War. Many refugees left Saigon when it fell in 1975 and they were given better lives in the US for helping our forces. One of them was a teenager (then) who grew up and joined the US Navy. He was a cohort and a friend of mine at my last command.

And so it shall it be with these Afghan allies. They deserve nothing less than the chance to live in freedom and peace and to make something for themselves.

That’s an even bigger mistake than handing Afghanistan over to the Taliban.

Nothing is being handed over. The Taliban have always been there. It was the US’s biggest mistake to think that the Taliban would be quiescent while the US armed forces turned over every rock looking for Osama Bin Laden. That’s what happens when your foreign policy consists of wishful thinking.

A bit like America in that the liberals inhabit the cities and the conservatives, here the Taliban, the hinterlands. So, who is 'right'? Since America makes such a religious case for "not interfering in America's internal politics!" but interferes in Afghanistan's internal politics to the point of mass murder...where do we find sanity here? We don't. Not in America. Not in Afghanistan. And we must remember that Bush lied and said al Qaeda! and the Taliban said, "Not so fast..." Is Afghanistan better off without us? That one is easy...YES! YES! YES! Is America better off without Afghanistan? Again, yes. Who will America attack next for the benefit of our arms producers? Spin the Earth shaped Wheel of Fortune and see if it doesn't land on Iran, and if so, there will be many more deeply grieving American families than both Iraq and Afghanistan combined. And, really, can we say that the Taliban are any worse that the trump mob? Naw, not really. Same mentality. America likes to demonize and lie about the disobedient, but U.S. conservatives seem to differ little in behavior from the Taliban...anyway, Welcome Home, ladies and gentlemen. I hope you get to unpack before our corrupt masters send you off again to stomp some other disobedient people...

Like Saigon 1975, history repeats again!

As it was international soldering as reaction to 9/11 2001 supported over 20 years by many countries its sad that only one country is mentioned here.

Like Saigon 1975, history repeats again!

Both were failed invasions, yet the US did not learn, look at Iraq, another country invaded by the US.

Big war corporations, their shareholders, and financiers, plus individuals who cheer on wars because fighting a war shows 'strength' need to own up to their roles in continuing military madness, as do US voters who vote for politicians who've approved wars and who vote for increased military spending.

Voters need to look more closely at where a politician or political candidate's campaign funding comes from.

Voters should stop seeing the big military contracts as providing jobs in their areas or anywhere else for that matter, and look at the negative externalities of spending huge sums of taxpayer money on preparing for the next war. In the US that goes for both Democrats and Republicans.

The interpreters should get visas. But the Biden regime will not stop there, instead they will open the floodgates for unlimited Afghani immigration. Of course... what they see is Democrat voters. Cuban rafters on the other hand, are sent back.... wrong voting profile.

Only thousands Afghan refugees to be accepted? No, it should be in the millions.

After all, US has created the refugees, it is morally obliged to let them in, as many as possible..

This is a good approach by the US---legal immigration.

Although the Dems could have used those votes in 2016 though huh? Would have curtailed their hysteria. hehe
