"Why are other countries fighting in Afghanistan anyway?"
Oh, my... how about other countries also benefit from a free and prosperous Afghanistan, not an Afghanistan ruled by extremists like the Taliban? This is not rocket science.

We should have hit al-Quaida and any Taliban in our way and promptly got out. Its hard to believe anyone still supports this madness. 1000 Americans and counting, 8 years and counting, and we still are not winning. In fact, its all spreading to Pakistan.
If you support putting our boys in harms way over this, then spare me the whining about the casualities. The deaths we have suffered are amazingly low, and I am sure we have fewer casualities than the Russians when they tried the same stupid exercise.

Something to do with terrorist training camps in that region Sushi. People that did some of those attacks in London, Berlin, Canberra used those camps, as well as the terrorist organizations making use of Afghanistan as a safe haven where nobody would question or stop their activities.

Why are other countries fighting in Afghanistan anyway? The invasion was a response to a terrorist attack on NYC, not London, Berlin or Canberra.

Yes the U.S. has suffered a heavier burden than some other countries.
And some other countries have suffered a heavier burden than the U.S.
Hehehohohaha
Many countries have suffered heavy burdens in Afghanistan - the heaviest being of course the Afghani people. With the US population over 300 million, how is the American losses in Afghanistan heavier than other countries?

Hehohohaha - "As a ratio of boots on the ground/boots in boxes, other countries have shouldered a heavier burden"
As a ratio of population, the U.S. has suffered a heavier burden than other countries. Yet for some, this sacrifice counts for little.
Hehehohohaha
America is in Afghanistan because of 9/11 which happened in NYC. Yet some like Sarge complain of some "unfair burden". As a ratio of boots on the ground/boots in boxes, other countries have shouldered a heavier burden. Yet for some, the sacrifice of others counts for little.
Sarge your pity party is a new low for you.

Wow, only 1000. That really shows how well equipped, and well trained they are. I bet in the same 5 years any cohort of young men (and woman) of equal size has about the same or higher rate of death.

1,000 is just a number. You go to war and this is what happens. I suggest everybody start whinging if this number approaches 50,000.

This underscores the fact that the U.S. is shouldering an unfair burden in Afghanistan.
