Federal officials are warning ahead of the November elections that Russia is working to amplify doubts about the integrity of U.S. elections while China is interested in undermining American politicians it perceives as threats to Beijing’s interests.

I reckon it is hard to identify a US politician working in the interests of the American people and not some corporate or international power.

I could point to Bernie Sanders.

There are plenty of foreign funded lobbyists like AIPAC who openly try to influence US elections.

I didn't know it was wrong to do so.

China at it once again, and what do we hear from this administration? Yup, hot air.

Making excuses and blaming for both parties failure to care about ordinary citizens before the elections have even started while funneling billions and billions to interfere in other countries.

Bloviation and tweets, family business deals and actually working in the interests of the American people are totally different things.

"If they are seeing messages about candidates presented in an alarmist or emotionally charged way, their radar should be going up

Well my radar is going up as the liberals continue to do this daily.

If only they worked this hard to exclude the lobbyists and all those dubious donations from individuals and groups buying political influence with 'donations'.

they are asking others not to do what they are doing to them all the time...?LOL what a desperate position?

Russia is amplifying divisive topics already circulating on the Internet — including doubts about the integrity of American elections — but not creating its own content

So no one is pushing Russian disinformation as there is no Russian disinformation rage was created by Russia.

guess that statement from the article makes this untrue then.

And if you want an absolutely clear and unequivocal example of Russian disinformation efforts just turn in to Fox's prime time line-up of Putin fan-boys and Kremlin apologists...

Hilarious. I don't know where to begin....

It said; Russia is amplifying divisive topics already circulating on the Internet — including doubts about the integrity of American elections...

yes, and the article says that is not "Russian disinformation" as they didnt create any. Its stuff that is already on the internet.

Informative article. no such thing as Russian disinformation and the Chinese "influence" is not attempting to have any desired outcome. So basically, nothing going on as they dont even have a preferred winner nor are they creating any content.

Chinese and Russian officials and state media have historically rejected U.S. allegations of election meddling and pointed in turn to American influence efforts in other countries.

exactly.

For me, it’s the underlying message of the article that I find more worrisome; and in my mind, it’s just a continuation of the some-people-can’t-get over-2016, and, we-can-never-let-Trump-happen-again. It’s divisive and dangerous, and believe this is just seed planting; and even though I don’t know the future, I suspect the dems will cry foul from now on any elections in which they don’t come out on top. Hilary and the msm floated the idea that trump was illegitimate and that Russian interference got trump the presidency That is source of this toxic mess we’re currently in, I believe. That message and the continued of it or what worries me. I didn’t and don’t need Putin or Xi to tell me about Hilary or Trump. I lived through the 90s. Besides, who said this in 2019?

“China is going to eat our lunch? Come on, man…

“I mean, you know, they’re not bad folks, folks. But guess what? They’re not competition for us.”

Lol, whatever! As if America hasn't been engaged in and is still engaging in all of the above attempts to influence politics in other countries since at least the manufactured casus belli for the Spanish-American War of 1898.

What a bunch of hypocrites.

Exactly - they are re-posting and parroting Trump's Big Lie, attempting to destroy the legitimacy of our democracy - thanks for finally agreeing with me....

Apologizing for and appeasing the Russians and the Chinese - a core value of MAGA-world....

More groveling to our enemies...

Of course. They’re a nuclear power, we should proceed with caution when dealing with a nuclear adversary. Now if this administration would heed to the same policies as the former we might yet still get out of this unscathed, but this guy wants to go in guns a blazing this has the serious potential of getting out of hand very fast. 5 more weeks until this madness comes to an end.

China and Russia know the best way to slow down the USA is domestically.

Absolutely hilarious that former president Trump routinely used official government documents as toilet paper to flush down the Whitehouse toilet.

The article tells you what to do about this kind of information.

"If they are seeing messages about candidates presented in an alarmist or emotionally charged way, their radar should be going up. They should be checking the accuracy of claims, and if they are seeing false claims, they should be letting the social media companies know.”

Anyone that believes that crap deserves to be taken to the cleaners. Lol

It's no wonder that oblivious has infiltrated the cerebral capacity if we allow articles to dictate to us what we should or shouldn't do.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

there is no "Russian" disinformation, the topic of the article

"Russia is amplifying divisive topics already circulating on the Internet — including doubts about the integrity of American elections — but not creating its own content, said a senior FBI official who briefed reporters Monday on the condition of anonymity under terms set by the bureau."

Says your beloved and trusted FBI.
