Vaccine deserts: Some countries have no COVID-19 jabs at all

....and maybe in the long run, they are better off for that. Eric Weinstein. Dr. Drew and others have been discussing the problems with starting a mass vaccination in the middle of an ongoing epidemic.

So, Japan does pretty well compare to these countries

Long-form conversation about the Corona mass vaccinations, if you want to look deeper than media headlines:

there are no debates over which coronavirus vaccine is the best.

Same here !

My hope is that the countries which are able to make a surplus of vaccines will hurriedly supply the rest of the world with what they need.

But strangely they keep ignoring the many counter arguments and evidence that contradict them, maybe that is why they never "discuss" their concerns scientifically but depend completely on social media that has a much higher tolerance for unjustified conclusions and lack of evidence.

The scientific consensus can be contradicted, but only with properly validated data in quantity and quality, without it (for example people trying to express opinions that can easily be proved wrong) there is nothing above social media.

Japan should donate their supply since they're clearly not using them.

There are simply no vaccines at all.

Lucky you guys! But give time, the overlords are trying to force this on everyone.

At the small hospital where Dr. Oumaima Djarma works in Chad's capital, there are no debates over which coronavirus vaccine is the best.

There are simply no vaccines at all.

And yet vaccine developers Pfizer and BioNTech are donating vaccine support to stage the 2020 Olympics.

Misguided, obscene, scandalous on every conceivable level.

Yes, I had seen a number of interviews with Geert Vanden Bossche, including that one with Weinstein. He does make a very compelling case, adding to the list of legitimate reasons for most of us to avoid the covid vaccine. He also documents his ideas well on his own website, everything supported by evidence.

So I don't know why some claim there is no evidence; either they just don't know what they are talking about or they are simply blindly pushing the big pharma narrative.

While all of Japan's jabs are just sitting in storage waiting for expiration.

Japan might as well send them to other countries at this point. It is not like the Japanese government ever intends to distribute the vaccines to the people. I think flying to a another country in 2022 or 2023 may be the the only way for the general population to get vaccines. Japan is highly unlikely to make the vaccines available to the general population before 2023, and clearly would not have the logistics ready to vaccinate more than 20%.

Clearly you did not see the discussion that I referenced, and are just arguing from authority. Weinstein in particular does not strongly advocate a particular point, he just investigates weaknesses in existing arguments.

Your often touted "scientific consensus" does in fact not exist. There is a whole list of scientists with credentials who disagree with the official narrative about either the mRNA vaccines, the lockdowns, or the mass vaccination (which are the main concern of Vanden Booshe).

Do you claim the signers of the Great Barrington Declaration are all non-scientists? Do claim that Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, John P.A. Ioannidis, Sucharit Bhakdi, Martin Kulldorff are? I could go on. An argument from authority I see typically used by religionists, it should not be valid in science.

Seychelles has that high 60%+ vaccination rate, but a high covid infection rate. Used a Chinese Vaccine with the low

0 ( +0 / -0 )

What is going on in the Seychelles deserves to be studied.

From what I have read, at least 60% of the infected either have gotten no vaccination at all, or only one, instead of two. There is also the matter that their economy is heavily dependent on tourists, and they opened the country up to travelers without insuring that the travelers are not themselves carriers of the infection. On a per capita basis, the surge in the Seychelles is now worse than the surge in India.

Then, there is the problem of the efficacy rates with the AstraZeneca and Chinese vaccines. Their 77% efficacy rate, while much better than zero, is not as good as the 95% rate from some other vaccine makers.

It is likely going to be a different situation by the end of the month (when the US demand for vaccines drops drastically, because they'll be down to second shots for whoever of the 65%ish of the population that can and will get vaccinated) the Iran/Cuba vaccine starts trickling out, and India decides that it will no longer allow the vaccines being produced there to be exported to Canada, the EU, etc.

And probably an entirely different different situation by the end June, with an American variant that is pretty good at infecting those vaccinated with the first formulations hitting the radar screens of health professionals around that time, and then starting to seriously spread.

Now, that might wake the politicians of the world to the reality that in a 24 hour world (the time it takes for a middle management equivalent person to get from his front door to the front door of most of his counterparts front door even if they both live in more remote, small cities on opposite sides of the world) this isn't something that can be treated as a national problem, or a regional one, or even an alliance problem.

In a 24 hour world, if you have a virus that starts spreading before the people who have it know they are sick, it is the GLOBAL rate of immunity that counts, and it doesn't matter if your people are vaccinated if there's a population somewhere in the world who are a month or more down the list.
