One of the big reasons some of those who haven't got vaccinated is they can't afford it. The vaccine is free, but the time isn't for the part timers scraping by with the hours they can cobble together from many 'casual' jobs, and the jig sector.

And a lot of Americans don't have a 'local doctor they trust' they have the doctor their health insurance company dictates.

Laws restricting movement abroad in the US already exist. You have the option not to buy a passport, that's your right. But you will be unable to travel abroad.

Laws that allow businesses to restrict access also exist. You have the right not to wear a shirt, or shoes, but you may find you will not receive service.

Until then, there are no consequences, just a bunch of peer pressure and internet attacks against those who do not wish to be vaccinated for personal, medical or religious reasons.

Those laws and rules actually already exist. There is absolutely no difference between "no shoes, no shirt, no service" and "no vaccination, no service". Airline companie will not let you board a plane with a gun, and they won't you let board a plane without being vaccinated. Same thing. So... Enjoy your future very boring life.

Because too many people refuse to do the things necessary to prevent transmission. Even at the height of the pandemic people in my town refused to wear masks inside stores. We had a big party down the street with nobody wearing masks. The gyms and some restaurants stayed open in defiance of the social distancing rules. People think thumbing their noses at authority is their right, consequences be darned. Pastors openly defied the law and encouraged their parishioners not to use masks or practice social distancing. The gubment has "no right" dad gummit!' Adult self restraint is not one of America's strong points. I am fully vaccinated but still wear a mask inside stores or gas stations. Even with the vaccine there is a small chance of becoming infected. I had it once already and never want to suffer like that again. But for too many the danger isn't real.
