Well that is what happens to anything that has a limited release. You have collectors/fans and you have hustlers.

Sad that the promotional cards ended up causing these kinds of problems, but looking at how it has been even the target of crimes maybe it should have been planned better.
The good thing is that the effort do not depend at all on the cards to be useful and even popular, so the ones losing the most are going to be the scalpers and not those actually interested in the exhibition.

How naive must they have been too imagine this wouldn't happen. I don't think they were, I think they knew exactly what they are doing and everything was planned, including this press release cancelling the program (and therefore further increasing the value of a piece of paper).
