This is Venice, not the Zuder Zee project.
the local center-right majority had just voted against an amendment to fund efforts aimed at dealing with climate change when the regional assembly hall was flooded Tuesday night, forcing politicians to flee.
Maybe they'll reconsider, in future.

They already spent $6.5 billions to build floodgates that don't work. It was supposed to finish in 2011, and it looks like they might not even finish it.
