“I have made mistakes, it’s true, but I am not a murderer,” he said.

The French judicial system doesn’t agree with that statement.

Guilty of murder but never killed anyone?

This was the only possible verdict. There are many factors involved in all human acts of violence. Motives fueled by raw, uncontrollable primate emotions play a huge role, such as an unquenchable thirst for revenge and "natural justice" that drives us to commit violent acts deemed by others as "terrorism", or by ourselves as "justice" or even "justifiable war". Only thus can Salah Abdeslam, like everyone else, from killers of his ilk to those like Putin, claim: “I have made mistakes, it’s true, but I am not a murderer"

Glad he's off to prison. Hope he gets buggered to death by the inmates. Can't agree with Hollande though, proclaiming that the attack had nothing to do with religion. It had EVERYTHING to do with religion. Perhaps he didn't hear the phrase "Islamic State" during the trial...

"sentence of life without parole"

I do believe that in Certain Cases the death penalty is appropriate, in this case the vest did not explode but he was their and intended to do harm to others, should have been sentenced to death.
