The Donnie visits and says, "You're going to be fine". Is that because of the autographed hats he passed out or because the Obama Administration fully mobilized emergency aid?

It just amazes me that Obama thinks that people are actually THAT dumb

Well, someone is dumb alright. You just attributed something to Obama that wasn't said by him, nor been repeated by his office.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

“At the end of four years, I will get over 95 percent of the African American vote.”

Yes Donald, yes Donald (in Wonderland).

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Heck of a job, Brownie!

4 ( +5 / -1 )

I think we should all vote for Trump because global climate change is a myth and upper-bracket tax payers need relief. This will help Louisiana.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Yesterday, I watched a top official in the flood area say that although Obama would be welcome anytime, that he would prefer if he waited awhile before he visited because the police and such are needed when he comes into town and that he would rather those resources continue to be used for problems related to the flood. I hope they replay that over and over because Trump is using this as a photo op while Hillary and Obama stay away out of consideration. Trump is spinning this as he is the better leader and cares more which is a bunch of B.S. Clever move, I have to say , to bring in the eighteen wheeler full of supplies. He never did anything when New Orleans got hit or in any other disaster.

"It just amazes me that Obama thinks that people are actually THAT dumb, but I guess it coincides with Obama's opinions about Southerners that these people cling to guns and religion"

It amazes me just how thin-skinned the anti-PC brigade are. Bless 'em.

Let it go. You post that all liberals are completely devoid of morals. Obama's statement didn't hurt so bad, did it?

4 ( +8 / -4 )

"When the socialist police governed by the dumbest president and you have to hear the PC scolding everyday, you'd be annoyed as well."

You're the one doing the scolding here. That big, nasty Democrat bully saying nasty things about people you like. Cut the hypocrisy out. It's glaring.

What do you think of the new, cuddly, teleprompter Trump. I remember the rightists ripping into Obama for using this device. As a non-partisan, are you going to rip into Trump with the same derision?

We know how much you hate hypocrisy.

Comment from the Louisiana Governor regarding a visit by Obama

It is a major ordeal, they free up the interstate for him. We have to take hundreds of local first responders, police officers, sheriffs, deputies and state troopers to provide security for that type of visit. I would just as soon have those people engaged in the response rather than trying to secure the president. So I’d ask him to wait, if he would, another couple weeks.

"But, the democrats complained that Bush didn't visit after Katrina" the Republicans will cry:

Republicans claim that Democrats are hypocrites for criticizing President Bush in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. However, the problem with the Bush Administration was that it left the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) woefully unprepared to help the American people in the wake of any disaster. In contrast to the chaos of the Katrina efforts, the response to the 2016 Louisiana floods has been swift and effective, saving hundreds, if not thousands, of lives.

Up next in the Trump USA circus tour '16:

Departing campaign manager: Stephen Bannon

Incoming campaign manager: David Duke

Trump: "This is to reconnect with my voter base, to show who I really am and what I stand for, and to undo the apologies that I made to the people I offended, which, in reality, were merely meant sarcastically."

3 ( +5 / -2 )

1/20/17 - "Madame President" The key phrase in the whole story is the last sentence in the first paragraph. "Acting" fits him perfectly ! Just like one of those "made outside the USA" shirts in his line. Why settle for an actor when you have the best qualified candidate in a very long time on the ballot ? Don't "settle" America ! Make history ! GO HILLARY ! ! !

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Trump’s visit was one of his first steps under new campaign leadership. Earlier this week, he tapped Stephen Bannon, a combative conservative media executive, as his new campaign chief.

This is Trump's real agenda: building his new media "empire." Taking down the Republican Party and building a captive audience of disaffected and angry whites -- hiring Roger Ailes and Steve Bannon (and others) -- while spending almost no money on his campaign are the obvious signs. (He's conserving resources for what he values most.)

Trump doesn't care about the presidency, or even what the United States has traditionally stood for. He will say anything and do anything to push the Trump name in front of the audience whose adulation and approval he needs. Trump is the modern P.T. Barnum, proving there's lots of suckers in America who'll go along with him, while intelligent, decent Americans of all political stripes look on with dismay and disgust.

Given Hillary's record as THE worst and most deceitful secretary of State (sic) in US history . . .

Fact or opinion? If an opinion, please provide sources for this statement complete with comparisons with other former Secretaries of State. Oh, and make sure those are verifiable, unbiased sources (preferably at least three independent sources to back this up). After all, we don't want to appear biased. Also, we want a balanced and fair approach to media coverage of both candidates.

As a senator, she didn't care for her state . . .

Again, fact or opinion? Can you back it up with proof like from above, or is this just another partisan attempt at covering for Trump's inadequacies for the highest office in the land and deflecting from the main topic of the article?

Apply this scrutiny to the rest of your diatribe. We've heard it all before. Time to back it up with real facts. Oh, and remember to fact-check those sources since you have a history of posting links to articles which either contradict your viewpoint or don't really address the issue at all.

I just watched workers unwrapping Trump donated necessities. I think victims ptrfer to receive necessities than someone called governor.

Trump disrupts emergency rescue efforts for photo-op defibrillation to his astonishingly amateurish campaign.

It smacks of the infamous Romney/Ryan soup kitchen photo-op:

The Day I Went Head-To-Head With Donald Trump

The Trump in this depiction would be the type of person a real president would use for a specific purpose or project.

I don't need some business person telling me how great Trump is behind closed doors. The presidency is a job that brings with it public scrutiny of every word and gesture. Some of these tough-business types, when not being used, have to be put in a chamber that says: In case of emergency, break glass.

Offering consolation, expressing regret, cutting ties with a controversial aide. Donald Trump’s campaign turnaround plan on Friday featured the unorthodox candidate acting much like a conventional politician struggling to revive a presidential bid on the ropes.

I give it three days. Tops.

I'll let it go when libs start to criticize and hold Hillary's feet to the fire and same standard as they do any conservative, deal?

I'd expect an FBI investigation into a Conservative if they had something that initially looked as suspicious as Clinton's emails. But if that investigation found no wrong-doing, I'd be satisfied with that.

Your comment seems to be saying we should be smearing Hillary without reason same as the Republicans are doing. That makes no sense. Why would we continue an unjustified smear campaign?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

“You live in your poverty, your schools are no good, you have no jobs, 58 percent of your youth is unemployed — what the hell do you have to lose?” he said," We could have 4 more years of Obama with more lies and less style ( Hillary )

Well, in a way Serrano is correct, Hillary represents more of the status quo, clean coal, fracking, support of oil companies, all of the things Serrano hates, right? BUT......let's imagine how much WORSE things will get with Trump who is proposing more, YES MORE tax cuts for himself and his billionaire friends. More Trickle-down, but that trickle down is really yellow and smelly. It amazes me that right-wingers REALLY think that another millionaire peddling the same ole sh-t is going to bring REAL change, and will demand Apple to bring back jobs (or else!!!!). Their simple mindsets are flabbergasting.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Obama and Clinton did the responsible thing and stayed away. Donald barged in when he was asked not to. Not very presidential. Also, one truck of supplies while good for a photo-op is a fart in the whirlwind compared to the need of the people.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Obama playing golf again,Trump cares

...about a photo op. Ask yourself this, would he be there doing the same things if there were no cameras and no press to right about it? Right. There's your answer. Hypocritical, use the media, then complain about the media, then use the media again. Repeat. Flip-flop....

1 ( +3 / -2 )

It's looking really bad for Manafort. No wonder Team Trump dropped him like a hot potato.

It makes you wonder what Trump's ties to Putin are. That bromance ain't healthy.

Correction: Visiting flood-damaged Louisiana after being asked not to, Trump disrupts emergency rescue efforts for photo-op defibrillation to his astonishingly amateurish campaign.

Tough week for Republicans. Trump is about to fold, and now even Karl Rove and other Republican pundits and 'predictors' are already admitting Hillary will win and are scrambling to try and save the House and Senate. They're saying it has not been done since they knew and resigned themselves to the fact that Dole was going to lose to Clinton, so it's no surprise the deniers are lashing out, guys. They are desperate.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Thanks for the sources, Bass, but once again, you didn't give me what I asked for: I wanted a comparison of Hillary and other former Secretaries of State. You did not give that but instead gave an opinion piece from another right-wing website.

I was living and working in NY around the time she was senator and she was horrible, absolutely horrible.

Yet she got re-elected. Explain that

Now she wants to make excuses as to why she can't visit the flood victims in Louisiana? Obama can play golf, that's ok, .

Uh, perhaps Breitbart or Fox didn't report this, but the governor of Louisiana, John Bel Edwards, told all of the presidential candidates to please not come to his state because he didn't want to waste precious money and resources on protecting them when they came, and he asked them to wait a few weeks before making an appearance. Of course, Trump didn't listen and used it as a shameless photo op to prop up his failing campaign. Edwards also said that he had all of the federal aid and assistance that he needed, so having politicians show up would not make a difference to his effort to rebuild the state's infrastructure or provide aid where needed.

http://usuncut.com/news/trump-disobeys-louisiana-governor-bravely-deliver-play-doh-flood-victims-video/

http://mediamatters.org/research/2016/08/19/right-wing-media-lambaste-obama-not-visiting-flooded-louisiania-despite-governor-s-request-he-not/212533

This will stick to Obama in the same way it did with Bush.

No, it won't since Obama has provided the aid that Edwards said that he needed. Besides, this isn't about Obama, now is it? Look at the topic of this article.

Trump consoled residents — even hugging two —

After checking the camera is ready to shoot the picture, does he believe he has the monopoly of compassion ? I highly doubt about it....

We could have 4 more years of Obama with more lies and less style ( Hillary )

At least we'll then be guaranteed to be alive for another 4 more years.

Under Trump, I'm not sure anyone in the world would be alive in four years under him. I give it about a year until he either has to declare martial law in the U.S., or start a full-scale nuclear war with a country he can't play nice with (e.g. China).

Serrano championed trickle down taxes when he was an avid supporter of W Bush. It's just kinda weird to see our fanatical Independent Republicans pivot to Trump.

Did any of you watch flooded area houses on video? don't you wonder whar they have been rating? maybe swimming down muddy water to find unusable refrigerator to get food? Trump has big mouth but he did not neglect victims. One apple is better than phone call.

Reuters: "You're going to be fine," Trump told several dozen supporters gathered outside, many asking for autographs and selfies."

I didn't hear anything about anyone being disrupted. Trump didn't ask for state police or military security. I imagine he may have had his personal security with him but hey he pays them so not my business. He also didn't ask for any road to be closed to bring him in or an escort to his destination.

Me three days ago: I give it three days. Tops.

Today:

Trump via Twitter: "Tried watching low-rated @Morning_Joe this morning, unwatchable! @morningmika is off the wall, a neurotic and not very bright mess,"

Scarborough responds

And then Trump,

"Some day, when things calm down, I'll tell the real story of @JoeNBC and his very insecure long-time girlfriend, @morningmika. Two clowns!"

Looks like I was right. Wanna know why?

'Cause Trump cannot help it. He needs it.

Interesting article. Some of our most effective presidents were, to put it mildly, rather rough-hewn. Some were shameless womanizers. Some bullied subordinates. Some of them used salty language. Some of them had thin skins and hair-trigger tempers.

The Day I Went Head-To-Head With Donald Trump

http://www.forbes.com/sites/realspin/2016/08/19/the-day-i-went-head-to-head-with-donald-trump/#5ee7808d5570

Because of the duty of confidentiality that I owe to my clients and to the other members of the negotiating team, I can’t give specific details on the project that was discussed at the meeting. But I can share my own impressions on what it was like to deal directly with Mr. Trump.

The first thing I noticed about Mr. Trump was that he was a stickler for detail. As a politician, he may affect a breezy platform style, but in the office, he was all business. Right off the bat, he corrected my team’s estimates of future financing requirements. He must have phoned an expert minutes before the meeting, because he said that by the latest market information he had, our current interest rates were off by 0.1%.

That was for openers. He went through every element of our proposal with a gimlet eye, challenging our assumptions, forecasts and business models with an exactitude and a level of expertise that was most impressive. It was as if he had a Wharton business professor whispering in his ear.

He wasted no time on civilities. He was brusque, impatient and dismissive of any information that he thought was inadequate, or any detail that he thought did not bear directly on the matter at hand. He cut right to the heart of things.

As far as State senator....

Voted for the Iraq war, never took any initiative to fix NYC crumbling infrastructure, voted in favor of the US$700 billion Wall Street bailout plan, failed to support regulating Wall St., unwilling to sign two important bills including legislation that would have without a doubt put an end to the giant loopholes coinciding with a Senate bill that would have curbed tax breaks for all corporate executives. Sorry, this is not an attempt do do anything to Hillary, this is Hillary's record, I was living and working in NY around the time she was senator and she was horrible, absolutely horrible.

Look, the woman is not dumb, if she were, she couldn't accumulate millions of dollars by making shady deals with foreign leaders and is unwilling to divulge any transcripts of these speeches, inexcusable!

Now she wants to make excuses as to why she can't visit the flood victims in Louisiana? Obama can play golf, that's ok, when James Foley got his head cut off, that was ok? Bush plays golf during Katrina, that was just a monumental crime. Again, the optics of Hillary and Obama doesn't look good on this, especially Obama, I can give Hillary a little slack, but for the president not to be there....again?! Doesn't matter what the intentions are, he wasn't there, Trump was there, that's all the people see. This will stick to Obama in the same way it did with Bush.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

I just watched workers unwrapping Trump donated necessities. I think victims ptrfer to receive necessities than someone called governor.

Definitely. The governor wasn't affected by this disaster, the people were. And as CNN footage now shows the people were receiving a truckload of supplies that Trump had donated even before he arrived.

Yo, Where's Obama and Hillary???!

The Donnie visits and says, "You're going to be fine". Is that because of the autographed hats he passed out or because the Obama Administration fully mobilized emergency aid?

Oh, please! Not going to work, Obama and Hillary chose not to show up. Obama felt playing golf was more important, it doesn't matter how the liberals try to spin it, the optics of this is just God awful bad. Comparatively, the similarities are equal to when Bush was plying Golf during Katrina and took him a few days to respond, that was bad, no question about it. Obama criticized Bush and rightfully so and now Trump is doing the same to Obama, rightfully so.

I'm no fan of Trump, but Hillary is a liberal war hawk. She'll 'stand up to China' and start a war in Asia.

The trip that made for a pointed contrast to President Barack Obama and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, who both have yet to go -- article

Obama, who criticized Bush for not flying immediately to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, now refuses to cut short his vacation to visit Lousiana; opting instead to hang out in Martha's Vineyard and play golf is par for the course for the worst. president. ever.

At least Mrs. Clinton has an excuse for being a no-show: LA is not a swing state. . . .

Given Hillary's record as THE worst and most deceitful secretary of State in US history, Clinton may will want the job, but for all the wrong reasons. As a senator, she didn't care for her state, but everyone noticed she got richer, as secretary of state, she got richer, nothing got done, except her actions getting our ambassador murdered and 4 others, she continues to lie, STILL, her pockets are swelling with cash, she has the nerve to criticize Trump and his wealth and the Clintons are financially not far behind Trump, at least he worked. He didn't spend 35 years lining his pockets with money from foreign dignitaries and used tax payer dollars to get there as a sworn public official. The lies and deceptions, smoke and mirrors these people play is pathetic and the only thing the Clinton's care about is enriching their own lives and what better way of doing that is by becoming president and having other foreign shady leaders with shady human rights records and taking willingly their money. Ethics is something neither Democrats know about, let alone the Clinton's. But again, with the MSM by their side, it just gets easier. Corruption just doesn't get better.

comes up with a ridiculous comparison again....but wait there will be more....

Lol! How? Let me guess, so Bush was a Republican, so that's bad, very bad. We just can't give these people a break, No matter what, they are not allowed to have vacation time. Obama is a Democrat, he needs rest and for whatever reason, we need to give him a break and have compassion, it's sad as to what happened in Louisiana, but give the president a break, he does care! No, seriously, he really does. Just give him a few days and he'll be with the people to console them.

You guys always make my morning. Can't stop laughing.

But seriously, nice try.
