It is understandable of/to President Biden frustration.
Filibuster, that 60 of the 100 senators should agree on the majority of legislation, is deemed anti-democratic, a hurdle for elected Government to enacting what could be considered urgent legislation.
However, filibuster exists for good reason to push for cross party consensus when major laws could have a dramatic effect to freedoms that could change people’s lives radically with every election.
Also, Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema could move to support Filibuster.

Asking for ID is just a horrible thing to ask, right?
As will the voter laws, they will keep and uphold that integrity standard
Then don’t, the system will uphold all the rights and should be handled with all of its checks and balances.
bass4funk
Should be ok, as you keep saying we have one of the most cleanest voting systems in place, so we should see zero problems in future elections, no need to worry.
Yeah, it’s such a crime to ask for ID
Again, they should be fine, bring your ID and all should be good.

For the Dems ultimately, and politically, yes and that’s to the GOPs advantage coming this fall. Let the Dems focus on 1/6 and the GOP will work on solving the mounting problems for millions of Americans. In the end this helps them

If Nick Saban was a Repub.....
It was rigged! Georgia bribed the officials! Hugo Chavez was in the officiating booth! That's the only way they won!
Sagan was heard on a recorded call to the NFL Commissioner; “All I want to do is this: I just want to find 16 points, which is one more than they have,” There’s nothing wrong with saying, you know, that you’ve recalculated"....

This is a fair criticism. Biden's administration has been extremely pro-capital, leading to people's deaths.
A socialist administration would put people before profit. Alas, we're a while away.

Well some of you might have your wish. Biden spoke of a "President Harris" during his speech today. Didnt even notice what he said or correct himself this time.
"the buck stops with ME! I am going to shut down the virus, not the country or the economy.” who said this and then we found out its a lie?
So no its not the "worldwide pandemic" its his policies.

Do you think it is bad to focus obsessively on a single event?

What voting restrictions? Lol
Democrats are deeply worried (and rightfully so) that they will be decimated after November and they will be. The polls, the voters are against them, the can’t get anything passed, they’re poised to also lose the Senate, most gubernatorial and mayoral races look bleak and then after all that and with now 26 House Democrats not running they talk about blowing up the filibuster? These people are beyond desperate. But they just want to focus on Jan.6
Blacklabel
yeah and how did that go for you?
enjoying the record inflation, increased taxes, weak foreign policy, lack of US border control, supply chain issues, increased consumer prices, weakened military and highest rate of COVID infection ever?
there is a thing for that, its called "Biden (buyer's) remorse".
Blacklabel
Democrats claim it is unsafe to stand in line to vote, so everyone needs mail in ballot.
Now liberals claim its a voting "restriction" if people have to go stand in line and vote, they should be able to do mail in ballot forever (even though it was a COVID time exemption only)
But its safe to stand in line to get COVID testing with a group of people who are only there because they think they have COVID?
You have a right to vote, sure. Following the process in place where you live. You cant just make a phone call or write a name on a napkin. Oh wait, in a Democrat state you CAN.

Thank goodness we still have one party (that won the WH and Senate last year) that continues to support the fundamentals of democracy laid out by our founders over 200 years ago....
The other party, formerly called the Republicans but now accurately called the Party of Denial and Delusion, has embraced authoritarianism and despotism, and functions no different that the United Russia Party or the Chinese Communist Party - mixed with a little of The Mullahs religious fundamentalism....
A majority of Americans realize this party is no longer conservative, no longer patriotic, no longer rational....it is now a crazed cult of personality...that as the evidence is showing clearer each day, attempted a coup just one year ago...
And a party that is growing increasingly violent....and a clear and present danger to out democracy...

Gotta love how, after 50 years lingering in Sodom on the Potomac, Joe Biden suddenly 'gets religion' and worries about voting. His own home state has some of the most restrictive laws yet that simple fact has eluded him.
I guess Democrats think so little of minorities that they need this faux protection.

Not surprised.
A voting rights bill where you need a vaccine passport to vote. Well vaxxers, you invited totalitarianism, and now you got it. Blue pills for all!

You're gonna lose it when you figure out how time works.

Dems know you dont need to change voting, just change who gets to count those votes and how.
Sad that Stacy Abrams was conveniently "busy" and didnt want to be seen publicly with a failing president.
Blacklabel
there are no voting restrictions. anyone who is eligible can vote now and in any upcoming election.
Unless you say that Joe Biden didnt really get 81 million votes, the most popular President in history in the supposedly "most secure" election in history.
15 million more votes than Barack Obama. so where was the voter suppression again? should Biden have gotten 100 million votes?
bass4funk
No one is saying that, but the Dems are the ones on a rampage at wanting to change the entire nation on every level. This is why people are screaming enough. Again, they just never learn until it’s too late every single time.
bass4funk
Yeah, that argument doesn’t even resonate with a lot of Democrats, they learned from Reid’s mistake which turned out to be a great move for Mitch and the GOP.

So be it. It's a disgraceful and undemocratic rule.
Unlike you, I believe in doing the right thing, even if it means my side losing sometimes.

This is my #1 issue and a key reason I won't vote for a Republican after my state's GOP representatives passed legislation to make voting harder with only 1 goal - to make it harder for citizens to vote.
My state representatives have done some other nasty things that I don't like either, so my goal is to get 90% of GOP members out of office here until they learn that voters are who they are responsible too, not companies and that finding ways to get more legal voters to actually vote is part of their job.
Most recently, the GOP redrew the district lines in away that makes it impossible my my current US Representative, a Democrat, to win. She is forced to move to a different district and run her re-election campaign there.
I'm hardly a Democrat, but preventing as many legal voters as possible from voting is just wrong. I hope the GOP is listening and I hope the US house and senate ARE listening too.
All the state laws that restrict voting for no good reason need to be repealed. Heck, it would be good if a national law was created around voting for all Federal offices to force 3 weeks of early voting, voting drop boxes that are open 24/7 during those 3 weeks for absentee voting, and polls open from 7am to 8pm on election day nationwide. Consistency matters. The states can have their elections be whatever they like, but I bet most will quickly take up the same rules as required by the Feds to limit confusion and save money.

Dems are playing with fire again. When the late Harry Reid got rid of the Senate filibuster it came in the end to bite the Democrats and it helped Mitch appointed more than 200 federal judges and three Supreme Court justices during his term. If the Dems go through with this and the GOP take full control of the Senate, then it’s going to be an absolute nightmare on every level for the Dems. They never learn and they think that boomerang just won’t come back to bite them in the rear every single time.
-The world of Democrat logic 2022 relief coming.

Excuse me, but you do remember what the voting rights bill is in response to, right? GOP-led state legislatures, led by DJT's constant whining about massive voter fraud that never happened, have put massive efforts into curbing access to polls while purging non-partisan election officials who did their jobs professionally but didn't follow DJT's calls to change the 2020 presidential election results (the tally for GOP legislature winners on the same ballot were, of course, accurate).
It's the GOP that's not interested in governing, only winning.
I suppose you also favor a literacy test before one can vote. Ah, the good old days . . .
