What do you mean not by choice...?

Absolutely by choice, Algeria does not welcome them, Merkel does.. everyone that tries, is aware of the risks ..

abd ya'll thought America's immigration policy was tough....

Unbelievable.

The whole world is going crazy.

A European Union spokesperson said the EU was aware of what Algeria was doing

And doesn't care...? As I said before, it's a dark time for the Old Continent...

"....they cross paths with some who are making the trip north toward Algeria and Europe."

The onus is on all these middle-easterners, sub-saharan africans and Latin Americans to make their own countries places where people want to live rather than risk death fleeing. Otherwise, the northern countries will be dragged down by the same dysfunction endemic in these southern countries.

There are currently 1.3 billion people in Africa. This is set to explode to over 2.4 in just 30 years from now (2050). There is simply no feasible migration solution to this demographic time bomb. We are on the cusp of probably the biggest humanitarian disaster the world has ever seen. The sooner we realise this (and leave our bleeding hearts at home), the better.

"Algerian authorities refused to comment."

I'll bet. This is truly shocking and sad news.

Africa is full of resources, raw material.

Maybe we should stop supporting despots, playing geopolitics there and rob them blind.

Colonize them back and not enslave them but put their country in functioning order.

They try to migrate to the northern hemisphere because there is nothing else to do.

@TumbleDry

Well said. There seems to be a real lack of humanity, as opposed to regulations and laws, in many parts of the world....

Algeria a majority muslim nation abandoning Muslims in the desert?

it must be the will of Allah!

Yea, why aren’t Muslim nations taking in their fellow believers?

Isnt this part of the big problem?

Heartless pigs. Trump would be proud.

@Toasted Heretic - the only ways my idea is immature is that it hasn't had enough time with the Politicians yet to jump onto the Bandwagon. The view I expressed has been regurgitated from elsewhere....

The majority of Stabbing Crimes in the UK are gang related, involving drugs, and other issues. A lot of the people involved are not Native to the British Isles. Immigration was one of the key issues that gave rise to BrExit. Immigration and Crime are a common theme Globally, as too is Immigration and Poverty. Sadly the Glory of days of Immigrants building Nations has long since gone, the peoples there now see immigrants as a threat to their own way of life rather than a savior.

They are conned by people traffickers in to believing there is a land of milk and honey at the end of their journey. In reality there is only death and suffering along the way and at the end a continent that neither asked them to come nor wants them. At best they face exploitation and misery in the black economy. Despite the perceived poverty and lack of opportunity at home they are still way better off staying there.

This truth needs to be made more widely known in their own countries and the deluded need to be stopped earlier in their journey to save them from them selves.

expat: "Glad Trump doesn't read. He might see this."

Trump does read but he spends more time getting things done.

badman: "Heartless pigs. Trump would be proud."

Could you please leave Trump out of this? Jeez...

The onus is on all these middle-easterners, sub-saharan africans and Latin Americans to make their own countries places where people want to live rather than risk death fleeing.

Yes, of course. The onus should definitely be on that widowed mom who with her child in tow fled her home to avoid being murdered by MS-13. Yep, how selfish of her.

God forbid we would even try to think about helping any of these countries deal with the root problems that are causing people to flee.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

We can’t help those countries. because we are spending 100 billion dollars on their citizens who are illegally in our country already.

Yes, of course. The onus should definitely be on that widowed mom who with her child in tow fled her home to avoid being murdered by MS-13. Yep, how selfish of her.

Then the mother moves to New York and gets murdered by MS-13 anyway.

Seriously, a really extreme example on your part.

The difference between this and US/Mexico border is these people are fleeing war-torn areas AND are not crossing thru other countries to get to their dream country. Mexicans just want a better life, which is not covered by asylum. Those from Central/South America are literally traveling thru a handful+ of countries they could seek asylum if that was their real, honest intention. But they just want a happier life, which again, is not what asylum is for.

The majority of Stabbing Crimes in the UK are gang related, involving drugs, and other issues. A lot of the people involved are not Native to the British Isles.

Have you got some stats to back up that claim?

Immigration was one of the key issues that gave rise to BrExit. Immigration and Crime are a common theme

Stoked up by opportunistic politicians and chancers like UKIP and their fellow scaremongers.

Sadly the Glory of days of Immigrants building Nations has long since gone, the peoples there now see immigrants as a threat to their own way of life rather than a savior.

Not the peoples I know. How is the newsagent, the doctor, the nurse, the lawyer, the footballer, the priest, the bus driver, the coldstream guard etc a threat to someone's way of life?

And people accuse the USA of being heartless towards criminal invaders and undocumented people...

2 ( +4 / -2 )

This is sick.

Trump's policy at the US Mexico border is not in the same league.

Make no mistake: If Trump's racist base gets their way, this is exactly what the US will do at the southern border.

VOTE DEMOCRAT

Seriously, a really extreme example on your part.

Seriously, a real example. If you think life in New York and El Salvador or small town Honduras are remotely comparable you don’t know what you’re talking about.

We can’t help those countries.

We really can. And it actually makes sense to do so, in our self-interest. Money that would be better spent, more effective than on an inane wall. But of course Trump’s just interested in throwing red meat to his low info base. No real interest in real solutions.

A European Union spokesperson said the EU was aware of what Algeria was doing, but that "sovereign countries" can expel migrants as long as they comply with international law.

Why European Union and the United Nation and the OIC (organization of Islamic Cooperation) have forced the Burmese Government to give Citizenship to illegal Bengali immigrants from Bangladesh?

The peoples who lead EU and the UN didn't have integrity and they are dishonest peoples.

Also if the Islamic Government is treating badly to Muslims and then it okay but non Islamic Government is doing accordance with country law to Muslims and then it not okay.
