Seems as though the civil war is starting in the US.

Let count down how long it takes for someone to blame it on Palin...

You obviously missed the 1960s, when all the hippie and leftist rot first appeared on the scene.Far more violent, though the left is today probably evry bit as capable of the thuggery they got up to back then, this time tho the metrosexual white males falling in behind their animus-ridden Palin-hating tankgurrl "life partners".

How many shooting massacres is that in the US so far for 2011? I think it's at least three massacres, if you count the Detroit police department shooting. Or is it only a shooting these days if the deaths are high?
Maybe it's time for a few more gun shows.... one at every Walmart, and one at the police stations in Detroit. Lawd gawd knaws it t'taint no guns d'at be killin' pee-pul!

Actually, murder rates in the US have halved over the last 20 years, despite how it might seem in the media. It dropped under Clinton's watch, and remained at current low levels throughout George W's tenure. The rates were quite high in the 70's, 80's and early 90's but have now dropped to rate comparable with the mid to late 60's.
Of course, if you believe SolidariTea's little rant, you'd think it was the other way around.
These incidents are becoming rarer, and I for one am happy to hear it.

Mainly fueled by the first real Cocaine use and abuse flooding the country in the late Seventies and through the mid 80's then the discovery of turning into crack and the meth in the follow-on years that really fueled the rates upward. Turf and gang wars over the drug trade. Hope those bad old days don't return ever again, Mexico is going through it right now unfortunately as we speak over the same thing.

I've heard the theory about crack, but I've also heard the theory about making abortion legal. I don't think anyone really knows why crime spiked and why it's falling now. Even the old thinking that crime would increase during a recession doesn't seem to be holding true.

"Dat be" "Killin"? Is this how you and your racist friends talk about blacks in Detroit?

So now that the conspiracy folks have had their say...turns out the deceased guy had a felony warrant for kidnapping, and was on the run with his 13 yr old victim, who is the 2nd deceased person. When being questioned, he shot 2 cops. This was not a massacre, not a drug induced homicide...not even close. The bad guy shot first, the cops shot back. A sad case closed.
