Well done Governor Cuomo and Mayor Deblasio...

Your level-headed and science-based response was in marked contrast to the chaos and misinformation that emanated from the Trump administration...

And I'm sure both of you aren't out playing golf today...

Wow, so even New York is now loosening up? Great I’m so glad to hear this. Because I live in the US, in New Jersey in fact, and I was looking forward to restrictions being eased. In fact, here in Jersey, you can now get in the groups of up to 25, so long as it’s outside. And yeah, just in time for memorial day, so I’m especially happy to hear that!

NY's death rate was gradually declining, but then there was a sudden spike, and then another gradual decline

Spike's are always sudden, and the declines are always gradual - that's why nobody wants a spike because it always goes up fast, but the downward takes longer. So it messes up your timeline, and it resets meeting the requirements for reopening

Anyways: "NY Governor Cuomo's Coronavirus Response Approval Rating More than Doubles Trump's Among New York Voters: Poll"

https://www.newsweek.com/governor-cuomos-coronavirus-response-approval-rating-more-doubles-trumps-among-new-york-voters-1502446

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's coronavirus approval rating more than doubled President Donald Trump's figure among the state's voters in a new national survey.

In the latest Quinnipiac poll, released Wednesday, an overwhelming majority—81 percent—of New York voters approved of Cuomo's handling of the state's response to COVID-19 and 17 percent disapproved. By comparison, only 35 percent of New York voters approved of Trump's handling of the pandemic, while 61 disapproved.

Trump's overall coronavirus approval rating lagged significantly behind New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, who garnered 63 percent of support for his handling of the virus in the U.S. epicenter of the crisis. Roughly 30 percent disapproved of de Blasio's COVID-19 response.

The president also trailed behind New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy and Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont among voters in their respective states. Roughly 78 percent approved of Murphy's handling of the virus and 18 percent disapproved. By comparison, just 37 percent of New Jersey voters approved of Trump's coronavirus response and 61 percent disapproved.

In Connecticut, 78 percent approved of Lamont's handling of the virus and 17 percent disapproved. While 36 percent approved of Trump's response and 61 percent disapproved.

"A crisis rockets governors to approval ratings rarely seen. In the Tri-State area, the public leans on their leaders and the gratitude shows," Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst Tim Malloy said of the findings.

A majority—roughly two thirds—in each state agree with the mitigation measures put in place by their governors to limit the virus' spread, while about 20 percent think they should be stricter and 15 percent think they went too far.

No city or state is an impentratible island. Why anyone would act like they are is incomprehensible.

Restrictions eased while virus deaths decline in New York

Cuomo’s administration claimed incorrectly Saturday that it has released all the information it has in regard to an Associated Press request for the number of COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals to nursing homes.

The AP compiled its own tally of the number of such patients discharged under a controversial order after the state Health Department refused to release an internal survey it conducted two weeks ago. The AP counted more than 4,500 recovering coronavirus patients sent to nursing homes.

But at Cuomo's news briefing Saturday, aide Melissa DeRosa answered an AP reporter’s question about the internal survey by saying there isn’t “any information we have that we haven’t released at this point."

Of course virus deaths have declined in NYC. Cuomo rescinded his order that forced old folks home to accept virus positive patients.

Busby - Well done Governor Cuomo and Mayor Deblasio...

Your level-headed and science-based response was in marked contrast to the chaos and misinformation that emanated from the Trump administration...

Lol. Their alleged "level-headed" response was to not lock down the city, or state, until their wealthy donors had a chance to flee NYC, and take their covid-19 infections to the rest of the state. Their "science-based" response was to force homes for the elderly to accept covid-19 patients thus insuring the early deaths of thousands.
