That's pretty bad news.

Peter Rouse looks good though.

Pete Rouse, a calm White House presence with his own seasoned understanding of how Washington work,

Washington works!!??

It may be good for Chicago, who knows. I love his hair style and his great sun tan!

Another top democrat is scampering off the sinking SS Obama.

His resignation is great news! I hope many others will follow.

Emanuel's leaving the West Wing is good for America, bad for Chicago.

Why do some people only comment LL in Japanese when attacking Obama ?

Emanuel's leaving the West Wing is good for America, bad for Chicago.

Only if he manages to get elected. Given Chicago's politics, thats definitely not a sure thing. About the only thing he has going for him initially is name recognition.

On the plus side though, guess we won't have to worry about any more naked shower antics from this bozo.

Leave Rahm in the Whitehouse and send Obama back to Chicago!

Came in like a weasel and leaves like a weasel.

Well Rahm, don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you.

I think Rahm's biggest problem was that people weren't sure how important he was.

He should have called himself "mister." If you call yourself mister, you must be important. It would also feed his ego. Anyone who calls themselves mister probably needs the ego boost.

Chicago is a socialist's dream city. They will need to take down all the Daley public worship signs and put up Rahm ones.

And look at the Chicago Bears --> 3-0

New worship signs are needed anyway because the Daley signs seem to fade after 20+ years.

Wow the puppet master is returning home. Who's going to write Obama's policy now?

Isn't Chicago mayor a step down from White House Chief of Staff?

Isn't Chicago mayor a step down from White House Chief of Staff?

Chicago ain't your normal city. Mayor is actually a step up. It won't be easy to get the nomination though. There are a lot of Dems that would love that seat. Since Daley is done, finally, if he endorses someone, thats most likely the one who will get it. Otherwise it'll be a free for all.

Rush said on his show today that Emanuel leased out his Chicago home '09 and has not been back since. That means he can no longer claim he is a resident; as such, he's ineligible to run for mayor.

If that's true, one has to wonder about the real reason behind him bailing on Obama and the democrats one month before the mid-terms.

I'll take "October Surprise" for $1,000, Alex.

Being a chief of staff is a tough job. One is not only in charged of one administration but of many other administration. The present White House chief of staff knows the Senate well and this is one of his assets. Rouse, a top White House aide, has been appointed to replace Rahm Emanuel as White House chief of staff. Rouse has built a reputation as a behind-the-scenes facilitator, about 180 degrees opposite the hot-tempered Emanuel, who's leaving Washington to pursue his dream of becoming mayor of Chicago. Pete Rouse faces tough task as new White House chief of staff. Rouse, a long-time Washington insider, is taking a job some say most people wouldn't want as the Obama administration seems destined to navigate troubled waters following the November election.
