I agree zurcronium.

Hey, Links ReaganLegend.

When did they find these tons of Sarin gas? When did they move this WMD?

Don't pass along that fairy tale that it's buried underground in Syria. The story that has no creditability. The story that is so flimsy that it's not taken serious in the Whitehouse or Pentagon.

Yep, there was 550 Metric Tons of yellowcake just removed and sent to Canada that had been sitting in storage for 20 years. Never processeed. The centrifuge found when we attacked had been buried 12 years.

The Whitehouse denies the faking of the letter. Please, they faked the reports of WMD in Iraq. They faked the pictures shown at the UN as WMD and dual use vehicles. They were aware and complacent of the Pvt. Lynch rescue as being a staged rescue.

How can anyone, but a george bush supporter actually believe anything that comes out of the Whitehouse or Pentagon? < :-)

ReaganL,

what? Pure myth. Look at the David Kay report or any other report on the missing WMD in Iraq. Fact-there were none. Only Rox news reports what you post and that is pure fatansy.

Undecided, with JT is peer reviewed let me know.

Pretty clever post at 12:17, zurcronium. And lifted entirely from

You really ought to credit others when you use their work.

Zucronium; The WMD`s were found a few years ago. There was quite a large amount of shells found buried, with chemical weapons.

The Nuclear material was moved before the war to Syria by Saddam`s son Uday.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

No reasonable person now believes anything that bush says or doubts that they he did anything he could so he could illegally invade Iraq.

Yes, those WMDs are soon to be discovered . . . .

Maybe I am crazy but I believe Osama Bin Laden has been dead for a long time. I believe he is gone. Where can this man hide for 6 years or whatever. I have seen his videos on CNN and all the major news networks and i never see him holding a current newspaper with the date. A person with commonsense can see right through this.

Guess we are back to convicted '93 WTC bomber Ramzi Yousef. And his Iraqi passport.

And his Swedish passport? And his Pakistani passport? Bloke had a lot of passports. Iraqi intellegence just might have slipped him a passport. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, that is what I am thinking, if that is what happened.

And Abu Nidal? The bloke Saddam assassinated? Or the bloke who lived in Iraq at the time Rumsfeld was shaking hands with Saddam? Same bloke perhaps?

Northern Iraq? You mean the rebellious part of Iraq that defied Saddam and was out of his control?

Even in poker, it is necessary to have some cards even when bluffing mate.

And Abu Nidal.

Guess we are back to convicted '93 WTC bomber Ramzi Yousef. And his Iraqi passport. And Abu Nidal. And 2002 photos of Zarqawi in northern Iraq...

Taka, nice slap-down.

decided, at least give in gracefully. I hate a sore loser.

This reminds me of back in the day when you fired off a post titled (when we could) "Proof" and went on about tarra training camps that didn't exist with a bogus article fromt eh Weakley Standard.

It's quite amazing to find people still defending the lies upon lies upon lies that took you to Iraq.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

decided, Wow. Top Secret flights? Sounds like it could be a conspiracy!

The deal culminated more than a year of intense diplomatic and military initiatives - kept hushed in fear of ambushes or attacks once the convoys were under way: first carrying 3,500 barrels by road to Baghdad, then on 37 military flights to the Indian Ocean atoll of Diego Garcia and finally aboard a U.S.-flagged ship for a 8,500-mile trip to Montreal.

So why would they worry about ambushes or attacks, you ask? Good question, considering that everything is supposedly going so well in Iraq. But, the answer is:

"The big problem comes with any inhalation of any of the yellowcake dust," said Doug Brugge, a professor of public health issues at the Tufts University School of Medicine.

Thanks Doug.

And yes, I would absolutely LOVE a job at the GAO. I believe it would be as much fun as debunking your posts on this thread has been.

undecided -

No need, it seems the Canadians have already found a good home for it.

The fact that Saddam already had 500 tons of yellowcake kinda puts a ? over the claims in the State of the Union address that he was trying to buy it from Africa.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

To cause a nuclear chain reaction, he noted, "you need U235, which only makes up less than 1 percent [0.7] of natural uranium."

Well then, cleo. Perhaps we can have all that yellowcake dumped in your prefecture?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Tak - the sooner you get that GAO gig the better, eh? You can personally investigate why the Air Force made 37 flights, top secret, from Baghdad to Diego Garcia.

decided,

That British physicist (and the fact that you had to rely on a non-American to make a point really shows your desperation)...

was he the same guy who wrote this:

I said that Hamza’s evidence, which he had submitted to the US Senate, was carefully tailored nonsense: Iraq did not possess ‘ten tons of uranium and one ton of slightly enriched uranium . . . enough for three nuclear weapons’, as he testified, but five hundred tons of uranium – enough for 140 nuclear weapons. All five hundred tons were harmless, however: it would have needed to be enriched from around 1 per cent to at least 90 per cent uranium-235, before it could be used for weapons. Hamza told the Times that ‘the number of pirated centrifuges’ – to enrich the uranium – ‘that Baghdad has been able to produce, and the rapidity with which the reprocessing programme is being undertaken’, were the reasons for urgent action by the UK and US. But the pirated centrifuges were a figment of Hamza’s imagination: there were no centrifuges in place enriching uranium, and there was no centrifuge assembly plant. The September dossier alleged that Iraq had imported aluminium tubes for centrifuge production, but these were revealed by the International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors to be rocket parts. Not only that: experts in the US and UK intelligence services knew that Iraq was manufacturing copies of the Italian Medusa 81 rocket and that the dimensions of the aluminium tubes matched the specifications of the rocket to a fraction of a millimetre.

By golly, I think he was.

Thanks for playing. We have some lovely parting gifts for you.

Taka

Not weapons grade?

That's right. From your own link - Five hundred tons of yellowcake uranium ore...could have been enriched to produce 142 nuclear weapons, meaning it was not enriched while Saddam had it.

standard yellowcake ore consists of 99 percent Uranium 238 [U238], "which is radioactive but is not used in normal nuclear weapons as it cannot sustain a chain reaction."

To cause a nuclear chain reaction, he noted, "you need U235, which only makes up less than 1 percent [0.7] of natural uranium."

You mean the Joe Wilson who accused the Bush administration of twisting intelligence in order to exaggerate the Iraqi threat? Yes....let's see if he can clear things up. Duh!!!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

That yellowcake uranium you are going on about... is that the same yellowcake uranium that was a) was not weapons grade

Not weapons grade? - the 37 payloads that the Air Force flew from Baghdad to its Diego Garcia Base? Have a look -

http://archive.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2004/8/9/110630.shtml

b) well known to the UN and IAEA and was being stored legally by Saddam’s government. It was legally in Iraq according to international law?

Yeah. The UN, coopted and duped in the weapons-for-food program, really had Saddam under control. The IAEA watches and inspects. It was the 100,000 or 150,000 US troops in the region that provided the deterrent.

Hey, maybe Joe Wilson can clear things up...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

decided, So...now we're onto the National Enquirer being a legitimate news source. What happened to your yellowcake argument?

Poof

Gone, just like that. Funny how a little truth can do that, isn't it.

WilliB,

Thanks for the intelligent question:

Or does anybody suggest that it was a realistic option to remove the huge military presence that had been built up at great expense?

I think this is a rather complex problem, don't you? It's somewhat akin to the question of whether it is wise to even create a massive and expensive military presence. That would be a variation of God and the heavy rock: Can we create an army so large that we cannot disband it?

If Saddam had complied with all the sanctions that you mentioned, if he had jumped through all the hoops that we presented him with, you seem to be suggesting that then we might have disbanded this large force created at such great cost. If you are suggesting that, I am wondering what would be different that would justify drawing down our forces: trust of Saddam? belief that he would continue to do what he had consented to do only to get out of his current bind? hope that Iraq would now be a peaceful and benign nation? The military force would still have been amassed in great number and would still have been expensive.

We were always going to invade. We were never going to draw down. The only question was whether Saddam would give us the keys to the country or not. He did not and that made the occupation marginally more difficult.

But to answer your question more simply. No, a draw-down was not a realistic option given the American political climate. Quite simply, Bush would not have been able to take the risk of creating an extensive military bludgeon and then not using it only to have Iraq problems once more percolate to the surface as they did in his daddy's case.

However, hidden in that "no" is a more pernicious truth. Once we made the decision to go ahead with the build-up, there were no options. So whether or not Saddam chose to comply with sanctions and so on is really irrelevant.

It's been there for 20 years and this is big news.

Never converted to useable material. Another big deal.

No nuclear program to use it.

Scare me some more. OOOOOOOOO

But lies about Atta and Saddam to beef up george bush's twilight tour. Haa Haa Haa Haa!!!!!!!!!!!

george bush is such a loser. < :-)

Kind of like your John Edwards story that apparently no one but the National Enquirer is reporting on. What's next? The World Weekly News?

"That's not really the Enquirer's niche, though. It gets confused with publications like the defunct Weekly World News, but in fact the Enquirer is surprisingly good at reporting on these kinds of stories, and it has a decent track record with them. It was the Enquirer that published the photo of Donna Rice sitting on Gary Hart's lap. It was the Enquirer that broke the story of Rush Limbaugh's addiction to painkillers. And new information about the Edwards story makes the Enquirer's reporting on it look more solid."

TheNoSpinZone - I don't have to prove she is a liar. Anybody can claim false facts, like you and Ann Coulter, must you need to be able to back them up. I don't have to prove false claims, you have to prove the facts you profess to be true. It's not the other way around.

I guess you like to run Ann Coulter's line of crap, because it supports your side. But it's a claim. Not a fact. Prove the facts.

This administration has never proved the posession of WMD, except to prove that Saddam bought them originally from the United States.

This administration had satelites, spies in Iraq, self exiled Iraqis claims and feet on the ground; 100s of inspectors months before george bush decided to attack. Never any WMD, besides some degraded munitions that were rusted and of no value. Read the below links. Nothing but some old rusted munitions. Where are the tons of Sarin gas, the 1000s of WMD capable rounds, the missiles, nothing but crap.

FoxsNews sure like the first link.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,200499,00.html

Reading from a declassified portion of a report by the National Ground Intelligence Center, a Defense Department intelligence unit, Santorum said: "Since 2003, coalition forces have recovered approximately 500 weapons munitions which contain degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent. Despite many efforts to locate and destroy Iraq's pre-Gulf War chemical munitions, filled and unfilled pre-Gulf War chemical munitions are assessed to still exist."

Bush has never done anything dishonest or misled the nation.

He has done his job to the best of his ability. He has led us through 8 years of steady growth, led us to 2 victories against the evil doers, and made America a safer place.

The last 8 years have seen the nation grow richer and safe from attack from tyrants like Saddam.

He would not fake anything, and Fox Newsproved that. A job well done.

Of course the Whitehouse will deny this charge, just as they squirm and deny all their other mistakes. Remember that classic a few weeks ago? From Dubya's own lying mouth:

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Gotta make a couple of things clear here.

Bush and Blair never fooled anyone except fools. It was obvious to most of the world there was no connection with Al Qaeda. It was also obvious that Bush was looking for an excuse to attack Saddam, and it was obvious that with the military assembled after Afghanistan it was a golden opportunity to attack.

The motive? Saddam's words and gestures made it plain that he would be a formidable enemy if he managed to get hold of any serious weapons. That's why Israel bombed the reactor. Same thought. Self preservation. "Act now before it is too late!"

It was also obvious that Saddam no longer needed to build a nuclear bomb. He had money and oil ready to use as he liked. North Korea had developed missiles and nukes for sale. This exchange was not only likely in the near future, but 50 million dollars had already changed hands. The best method of defense/defence against a future threat from Iraq, an Iraq that had already invaded Kuwait, was pre-emptive attack. And the opportunity to redress the accusations of wimpiness against his father after the first Gulf War was tantalizingly close in front of him.

The excuse he put together never convinced me, and anyone who says they were fooled... well. I still think from a historical perspective that Bush and Blair did the right thing, even if it turned out to be a little messy to tie off.

Oh yeah, the same group that put together a war based on WMD that never existed. Oh sure we sold them plenty of WMD, but that was all destroyed.

And gosh, the same administration that gave no bid contracts to dick cheney's former company.

Yes, I solomnly believe that this administration deceived the American people when they created the letter that associated Saddam Hussein’s regime and al-Qaida as a justification for the Iraq war. < :-)

No idea whether this letter is fake or not, but from what else we've seen of the Bush modus operandi, I wouldn't be in the least surprised. 0 ( +0 / -0 )

" "The war was to save you and your future generations from being attacked and turned into a dictatorship" "

Nonsense. The war (or rather the invasion, it was never a "war"), came at the end of a long build-up to it, in the context of broken ceasefire conditions, a crumbling sanction scheme, a regime that used threats of a aggression to cling to power, continously violated no-fly zones, a troop presence in Saudi that gave fodder to Al-Quaida propaganda, and a 2-year long troop build-up and cat and mouse game. By the time Bush called Saddams bluff and gave orders to march in, that was the only possibility. Or does anybody suggest that it was a realistic option to remove the huge military presence that had been built up at great expense?

But all this is totally ignored (or even forgotten) in the propaganda soundbyte comments we here. Instead we get the childish and embarrassingly stupid narrative that one fine day, without any particular reason, the evil GW Bush decided to "attack" peaceful little Iraq in order to steal oil, or make Haliburton rich, or please the illuminati or just be evil. Take your pick. It is embarrassing to see that people write this sort of stuff with a straight face.

I could also be free if i was British, Spanish, Danish, or Japanese.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

USAPatriot - "I have shown ample proof,"

You haven't shown me any proof at all. I'm still waiting.

USAPatriot - "George Bush wold only go to war in the name of good. We are the good guys remember?"

No, I must have missed that. Your 'good guys' have been responsible for killing more than a million innocent Iraqis and displacing 4.25 million others.

You're the bad guys, remember?

"you must be a traitor!!!"

Ha ha! To who, considering I'm not American.

I'd say you are a traitor to God for buying George Bush's lies.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

USAPatriot

You still owe us your "facts". Let's deal with that first, shall we?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

omteperature; Only one. Yes and you can`t because he doesnt lie. Bwahahaha

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"look in Wiki"

Some days ago you were mad at me when I showed you a link to Wiki, because you didn't want to read liberal media.

"Please inform me of one incident in which Bush has lied"

Only one?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

SushiSake3; You called Bush an evildoer, you must be a traitor!!!

I have shown ample proof , and told you where you can find unbiased news.

George Bush wold only go to war in the name of good. We are the good guys remember?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

USAPatriot - "Please inform me of one incident in which Bush has lied."

Yellowcake from Niger.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

USAPatriot - but have still presented ZERO evidence to back up your claims.

And I'm afriad 'buy an encylopedia' just doesn't cut it as 'evidence.'

So, at this stage, all you have done is made a bunch of claims and presented no proof whatsoever to back them up.

That's a lot like the evildoer Bush in the White House who started a war based on ungodly lies.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

SushSake3; Please inform me of one incident in which Bush has lied. He went to war in good faith. And the war has been a complete success, well done George.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

ushSaki3; Incorrect. I amhere to state my case. Not to educate, look in Wiki or buy an encylopedia. Iraq ia doing great. Baghdad, is thriving just like your average US town.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"The facts are well known ton those whoe regulary watch unbiased news services."

Well, you were the one who started to shout "FACT". So, just paste that link where you got your facts from and enlighten us. It's so easy. We're waiting again.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Actually, it is God's will that America exits Iraq after George Bush's evil, unjust and very unglorious invasion.

That is why God-fearing Barack Obama is on his way to the White House :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

USAPatriot - "The facts are well known ton those whoe regulary watch unbiased news services."

Like Fox News? :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

roomtemperature; The facts are well known ton those whoe regulary watch unbiased news services.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Facts, USAPatriot. Where can we find them? Your words don't count, that's clear by now.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

SushiSake3; I gave the evidence to you sir. The glorious war is being won and is a just war, god bless our troops.

roomtemperature; Iran, wants to destroy Israel and ultimatly the US. Afghanistan had the Taliban aiding Bin aden and his plot of world domination.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

USAPatriot - "People would have been unaware they were being used for a mass chemical attack on the good guys.

You mean a chemical attack on America using U.S.-made chemicals sold to Hussein through former Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld from the Good Guys back Stateside?

USAPatriot - "SushiSake3; He would have taken control of tankers on their usual routes."

But again, you've got zero proof to back your claims.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

USAPatriot

Where are your facts that Afghanistan and Iraq wanted to end democracy and spread Islam all over the world? We're waiting!!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

SushiSake3; He would have taken control of tankers on their usual routes. People would have been unaware they were being used for a mass chemical attack on the good guys.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

USAPatriot - "SushiSake3; He was preparing to attack the US coast from oil tankers."

Was he going to conquer the USA by driving his oil tankers onto the beaches or something?

What if they sunk en route or were sunk by US fighters long before they left the ME?? Did Saddam have a reliable Plan B that you know of?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

USAPatriot - "Rumdfield made his mission of peace to Iraq."

Selling WMD to a dictator is a 'mission of peace'?

USAPatriot - "SushiSake3; He was preparing to attack the US coast from oil tankers."

But you don't have any proof, abnd wasn't Ollie North a jailbird? :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

SushiSake3; He was preparing to attack the US coast from oil tankers. Ollie North reported it on Fox News before the war.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

SushiSake3; Sorry to spoil your delusions, but Saddam was in power for years before Rumdfield made his mission of peace to Iraq.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

USAPatriot - "Saddam came to power without assistance of US."

Saddam came to power with a BIG helping hand from Uncle Sam - through Donald Rumsfeld, who sold him WMD from Republican president Ronald Reagan.

In fact, here's a photo - www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB82/

USAPatriot - "He could launch attacks from oil tankers"

Do you have any proof?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I agree with USAPatriot, ChimpsAhead and Sarge

The war was just, the fake letter is another piece of fake evidence produced by the liberals. What is wrong with the war? WE are winning, the bad guys are losing.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"FACT"

Show it!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

roomtemperature; Iran and Afghanistan change Islam into a freligion that wanted to end democracy and spread islam worldwide, FACT.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

SushiSake3; He could launch attacks from oil tankers, he was willing and ready to atack us. Our war was a war of defence based on facts.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

These are myths spread by the LIberal media.

Ha, conservatives and liberals are in agreement that the US helped prop up evil, "ungodly" regimes

0 ( +0 / -0 )

REpublicofTexas; These are myths spread by the LIberal media. Saddam came to power without assistance of US. THe evil man was given the chance to repent, he failed. His regime and evil followers were crushed in a just and glorious war.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

USAPatriot - "The guy (Saddam) wanted to destroy our culture"

Care to put up some proof to back that up?

No, the worst Saddam Hussein could do was use US-supplied WMD to attack his own people.

Glorious stuff, eh? All part of God's plan, no?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

That's why his poll ratings are in the tank, most Iraqis want America out, and Barack Obama is on his way to the White House.

Millions of people around the world will be happy when America pulls out of Iraq, in no small part because the honest solution - getting out - is clearly the best path.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Should say - islamic law.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

roomtemperAture; We culd be living under Islamic war now, if Bush didn`t defeat the menace of Saddam. The guy wanted to destroy our culture. The war was inevitable.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

USAPatriot - "She believes Iraq was ws decent genuine war based on facts. I believe her, are my statements false?"

Yes.

Claims, no matter how blatantly wrong, do not make for truth, I'm afraid.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"Millions of people are now happy"

And billions are not.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

SushiSake3; She doesnt lie. She believes Iraq was ws decent genuine war based on facts. I believe her, are my statements false? Disnt think so... hahahaha

0 ( +0 / -0 )

roomtemperature

I agree with USAPatriot. The war was a good war. Millions of people are now happy, hey, they love our troops. The war was an honest one, anyone can see that.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

USAPatriot - "Don`t believe me, i heard Ann Coulter say it recently."

ha ha ha ha ha! Many people claim she is rabid.

Why, Ann Coulter is about as believable as those trusting, reliable guys on Fox News :-)

Your allegations are patently false.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Act of kindness huh? Let's ask people around the world if they think America is kind.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

So, the more than a million Iraqis who died under US bombs and bullets were ALL terrorists?

Beat me to it.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

SushiSake3 ; Freeing repressed people is an act of kindness. Th glorious act will soon lead to democracy spreading through out Mid East very soon. Don`t believe me, i heard Ann Coulter say it recently. The Iraq war was based on undisputed facts. WE made the place good, evil is losing.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarge-great post! roomtemperature; Bush is a man of god, nothing fake about him, you allegations are false. Bush went to war in good faith and Fox reported the news in good faith.

Moderator: All readers back on topic please. Bush's religion is not relevant to this discussion.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

TheNewZEn; it is not the same thing. Us does not kill innocents, as in Iraq, i frees and liberates the innocents.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Fake letter, yeah, right. But, heh, roomtemperature and Sushi believe it.

The White House need not respond to this ridiculous allegation.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

roomtemperature; I am serious. I ma serious that the Iraq war was based on facts. We liberated them from Saddam, and the evil doers resisting are nearly all killed or captured.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The war against Iraq was just and was aglorious act of kindess by the US.

Now you just sound like Pope Urban II...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

USAPatriot - "A true success on a war based on truth!!!"

Which one? There were at least 9 justifications for the invasion, all of them trashed, ha ha ha!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

REublicofTexas; Bush would not go to war based on lies, he is a god fearing guy. The Iraq`s no whave freedom, democracy, equality, and cafe society and nightlife is flourishing. A true success on a war based on truth!!!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Any war , ie Iraq that frees the population from tyranny and gives them freedom is glorious. I believe that is gods will.

I believe you have failed to notice the fact that the majority of the Iraqi people want the US out.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

raving fanatic...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

RepublicofTexas; Any war , ie Iraq that frees the population from tyranny and gives them freedom is glorious. I believe that is gods will.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

REpublicofTexas; I am not pulling your leg,. Going to war, like in Iraq to spread freedomk, is a glorious act, especially by the US, gods chosen people.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

There is no such thing as a "glorious war". War is a tragedy, not some achievement. As for fighting Tojo, that was a defensive war, not a war of aggression.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

RepublicofTexas; So fighting Hitler and Tojo to spread democracy was wrong? Guess you just shot yourself in the foot. Iraq was the same , a just and glorious war. SushSae3; I believe in my posts.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

No, he's not - he's just pulling your leg, and succeeding by the looks of it :-)

If he was just pulling my leg, he wouldn't actually be supporting the decision to go to war

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sorry, my comment "No, he's not - he's just pulling your leg, and succeeding by the looks of it :-)"

was in response to RepublicofTexas - "WOW, the scary thing is that you are serious."

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Anyone who wants to forcibly spread democracy is not a true supporter of democracy.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

No, he's not - he's just pulling your leg, and succeeding by the looks of it :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

REpublicofTexas; A facist does not believe in free elections, human rights and equality for all, i do. War is something that has to be considered in all cases, concerning the pread of freedom and democracy.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Atrue conservative would agree with my statement.

Any true peace/freedom loving American would be appalled and thoroughly embarrassed by your statements. People like you are the cause of America's image problem.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

USAPatriot, you are not a conservative, you are way further right than conservative, you would be what they call a reactionary, possibly a fascist.

only decided to go to war after god chose to speak to him and tell him

WOW, the scary thing is that you are serious.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

RepublicofTexas; Atrue conservative would agree with my statement. The US goes to war to spread freedom and peace. The Iraq war was not on false info. Bush loves peace, and only decided to go to war after god chose to speak to him and tell him, he had to do it.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

liberal bias

You don't have to be a warmonger to be a conservative. There are many conservatives who oppose and have opposed the Iraq War.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

War can be good. The US involvement in WWII and the bombings og Hiroshima and Nagasaki were glorious and rightous. Bush

That is one of the worst things I've ever heard. I;d hate to sound anything like Aso, but that's the sort of thing Hitler would have said.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

undecided: "550 tons of yellowcake uranium shipped out of Iraq under US supervision just last month. All the WMD proof anyone could ask for."

Under US supervision, huh? So the US is shipping WMDs themselves under a country that never had them previous to the illegal invasion. Wicked argument, my friend... wicked argument.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Your liberal bias cannot spin the facts. The War was morally justified,

First of all, i'm from Texas, in other words conservative. Second and more importantly, war is NEVER morally justified.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

REpublicof Texas; Your liberal bias cannot spin the facts. The War was morally justified, WMD`s were found. Fox News reported the findings fully, and they like BUsh himself , do not tell lies.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

USAPatriot - "The finding was heavily reported by Fox News"

ha ha, that's almost as rock-solid authoritative as saying 'It's true because I read it in a magazine!" :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

several shells were found containg mustard gas i believe.

That's nowhere near the amount of WMD's that the White House implied Iraq had in its arsenal.

"In 2006 Fox News reported the claims of two Republican lawmakers that WMDs had been found in Iraq,[37] based upon unclassified portions of a report by the National Ground Intelligence Center. Quoting from the report Senator Rick Santorum said "Since 2003, coalition forces have recovered approximately 500 weapons munitions which contain degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent". Many news agencies, including Fox News, reported the conclusions of the CIA that, based upon the investigation of the Iraq Survey Group, WMDs have yet to be found in Iraq"

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The only patently absurd statement that I can see in this article is the following:

The notion that the White House directed anyone to forge a letter from Habbush to Saddam Hussein is absurd.

I guess we'll have to add this to the other notionate absurdities that have emanated from GPS coordinates centered around the White House--that anyone would out Valerie Plame, that anyone would cherry-pick evidence about Iraq, that knowing something to be true does not have to mean that you actually know it is true, and so on.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

RepublicofTexas; several shells were found containg mustard gas i believe.

The finding was heavily reported by Fox News and especially by Mr Hannitty.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

WMD were found in Iraq

What weapons of mass-destruction? Saddam Hussein deliberately acted vague about the WMD's as a way of deterring arch-rival Iran from any aggressive moves as well as the belief that the Americans would never invade even if their were WMDs. In other words there were never any WMDs.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

USAPatriot - "WMD were found in Iraq. dont you ever watch Sean hannitty?"

Oh, I get it, you mean the helium balloon trucks that led Bush to say, "We found 'em, we found the WMD.".

Yeah, they're real dangerous, especially if kids get given the wrong colored balloons on their birthday.

All documented in "The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder", BUGLIOSI, Vincent. Vanguard Books 2008, Cambridge MA ISBN 978-159315-481-3 Enjoy!

550 tons of yellowcake uranium shipped out of Iraq under US supervision just last month. All the WMD proof anyone could ask for.

Al Qaeda? For every author like Suskind there is equally compelling evidence from authors like Steven Hayes and others.

Hayes even reminds us how many Dems (among them Obama's probable V-p) were also "Neo cons":

"Evan Bayh, Democrat from Indiana, has described the Iraq-al Qaeda connection as a relationship of "mutual exploitation." Joe Lieberman said, "There are extensive contacts between Saddam Hussein's government and al Qaeda." George Tenet, too, has spoken of those contacts and goes further, claiming Iraqi "training" of al Qaeda terrorists on WMDs and provision of "safe haven" for al Qaeda in Baghdad. Richard Clarke once said the U.S. government was "sure" Iraq had provided a chemical-weapons precursor to an al Qaeda-linked pharmaceutical plant in Sudan. Even Hillary Clinton cited the Iraq-al Qaeda connection as one reason she voted for the Iraq War." http://www.nationalreview.com/interrogatory/hayes200406020847.asp

0 ( +0 / -0 )

“After being told that Habbush had said there were no WMD, Bush was frustrated,” Suskind wrote in the book, quoting Bush telling an aide, “Why don’t they ask him to give us something we can use to help us make our case?”

Could that be because there never was a case in the first place, but the diehard Republicans will swear black and blue that the invasion overall was "good" and that "spreading freedom and democracy" was actually the real reason behind the invasion (although they never claimed so until after the WMD claim started to look bogus and they found they needed another reason to justify their blind obedience to Bush/Cheney)??

0 ( +0 / -0 )

WMD were found in Iraq. dont you ever watch Sean hannitty?

Cannisters were found by a road side containg chemical weapons.

Iraqi`s are now living in a democratic country, with equality for women and a hectic cafe society and nightlife.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The much-hyped WMD - the no.1 justification for the invasion of Iraq - were not in Iraq.

Why is America still in that country?

Is it some silly stuff about "spreading freedom and democracy", that America seems to have one rule for some countries and completely different rules for others but that the diehard Republicans will claim is still fair and just treatment?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

SushiSake3; George Bush is well known to be the most honest president of all time. He would not present false information to present his case.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"Denying the report, White House deputy press secretary Tony Fratto said, “The notion that the White House directed anyone to forge a letter from Habbush to Saddam Hussein is absurd.”"

Heh, but there's Republican whackos out there who will swear it's true because George W. Bush said so.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Heck!! The Bush administration is not going to sink to such dirty tricks. Everyone knows the link between al-Qaida and Saddam. Thee were even trainin camps in the north of the country.

Does anyone really believe that a man of god like Bush is going to tell lies like that. I watched Fox News every day leading up to the war , and saw lots of evidence of Saddam and his terrorist links.
