Totalitarian terror-state HK needs to be boycotted entirely. The Commie HK gov't will be trawling through email and social media accounts of all HK citizens right now, looking for any historical evidence of dissent or opposition not deemed "patriotic". Countless "non patriots" will be arrested and sent off to the mainland. Never to be seen again.

Most international companies and news agencies are deserting HK. ALL need to exit. Commie Carrie Lam, the entire HK gov't, police and judges will hopefully be eventually put against the wall. We can all hope.

Gambare Nippon: HKers don't care what you think. You worry about your own country's state of affairs.

Maybe if these publications stopped advocating for "independence" they would be fine. Hong Kong is part of China, surely that's not too hard to understand.

Nonsense.

They are simply advocating for the right to free speech, the right to be critical of their government and legal system when necessary, and for accountability of the officials they - the citizens - fund. Not exactly radical or revolutionary.

Is that too hard to understand?

It's awful to witness this dark Chinese fascism metastasize in Hong Kong. The democracies of the world really need to stop trading with fascists.

Exactly. Can you imagine if Okinawans went through with a declaration of independence? Or Hawaii? Or Catalonia? Oh yeah, we all saw how that went and what happened to the Catalan politicians.

Seems like those who advocated for violence left HK where peace has returned and instead went to UK where their violence was on full display in London Chinatown.

Memo to Hong Kong media: Xi's dictatorship is now in force in Hong Kong. Practicing freedom of speech is no longer allowed.

By now it is clear that who is next is not really important, huge institutions of periodism no longer have any power, so at the end every single outlet that do not conforms to what the CCP decides will be erased.

It does not matter if it takes a week or half a year, there is no longer freedom of press in Hong Kong.

It's nice to see everyone so worried about freedom of the press in China. I only wish there was equal concern for press freedom in the West and the jailing of Julian Assange in Belmarsh.
