what should a person do as “their part” to prevent transmission of COVID when a vaccine doesn’t prevent that?

it’s empty words. “Do you part”, “pay your share

This is the story of Omicron. Lots of cases, little impact to health.

Africa is the least vaccinated continent and they are doing the best.

Europe is the most vaccinated and they are doing the worst.

This needs explaining.

Well, obviously the solution is to vax more... ; )

Get vaccinated as it reduces the risk of transmission.

I know this is difficult to understand for people who insist that if something doesn’t work 100%, it doesn’t work at all.

So how's that working in South Africa?

Get vaccinated as it reduces the risk of transmission.

Evidence?

When delta showed up, Fauci announced that the viral load was the same for vaxxed and unvaxxed. Do you have any evidence it's different for omicron?

Ignoring the explanations do not means more explanations are needed, I understand you want to completely ignore epidemiological factors because make your argument completely empty, but they are there, not every place, population is the same, and cause-effect can be confusing for you. But Africa is not doing particularly well, and European population is doing much better after infection (at least those that are vaccinated).

No, that is false and a complete misrepresentation of what actually was found.

The vaccine reduces the rates of infection even for delta, and it reduces the rates of symptoms, and also the duration of them. It is only when you compare viral titers of actively symptomatic patients between vaccinated and unvaccinated people when they are comparable, but obviously that is a much smaller subset of the population for those vaccinated.

How much better would the situation be if everyone did their part instead of whining about it?

The death percentage was never that high when CoVid-19 first manifested itself. The original strain affected mostly the elderly and when the vaxx was first made, they got it first. Then came delta which was affecting younger people and now the omicron.

As more people get vaxxed the virus will keep mutating to the point that it's inactive and can't make anybody sick anymore. All flus and viruses evolve that way. I know quite a few friends who got it and survived it and they ALL say the vaccine kept them from dying AND that CoVid is one of the awfulest sicknesses they ever got. And some celebrities and stars lately have become sick and say the same thing - DO IT.

This is no time for crackpot conspiracy theories or misinformation. Look at the liars like Alex Jones, MTG, TrashTrump or Le Pen in France. The lies they give make them murderers. Don't listen to them.

But the vaccine is not for everyone, don’t paint a broad brush, some of can’t take it and some of us don’t want to take it.

Ok, listen to the celebs you like and trust them, but don’t listen to the politicians that either bring other Medical opposing viewpoints or telling Americans to consult with their medical healthcare physician which and what is right for them.

Yeah, if Bono, Joy Behar or Cher say, we should get it, why would I not?
